Taylor Swift surprises fans with secret double album reveal

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has surprised fans by revealing her new record ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is actually a “secret double album”.
The 34-year-old pop superstar released her 11th studio record ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ at midnight on Friday (19.04.24) and just hours later, Taylor dropped a bombshell by announcing she’s adding a second instalment of 15 extra songs to make it an “Anthology”.
In a post on social media, Taylor wrote: “It’s a 2am surprise: ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is a secret DOUBLE album.
“I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of ‘TTPD: The Anthology’. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore … it’s all yours.”
The extra release means the album now clocks in at 31 songs including ‘The Manuscript’, ‘The Bolter’, The Albatross’ and ‘The Black Dog’ which were the bonus tracks included on vinyl versions of the record.
Taylor went on to explain the double album reflects a period of her life that’s “now over” and she insisted she has “no scores to settle once wounds have healed” – with many speculating many of the songs explore her doomed relationship with actor Joe Alwyn and her brief romance with Matty Healy.
In a post on Instagram, Taylor wrote: “‘The Tortured Poets Department’. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time – one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.
“This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed.
“And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.
“And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry.”

Paris Hilton teams up with Sia for new song Fame Won’t Love You

OHMYGOSSIP — Sia has collaborated with Paris Hilton on a new song.
The 48-year-old singer and the 43-year-old socialite-and-DJ have joined forces for Sia’s new single ‘Fame Won’t Love You’ which will feature on ‘Reasonable Woman’, which will drop on May 3.
The single collab is not the only project the pair are working on together as Sia will be the executive producer on Paris’ next LP, which she has stated she is dedicating to the LGBTQ+ community.
‘Reasonable Woman’ is Sia’s 10th studio LP and her first full release of new material since 2016’s ‘This Is Acting’.
The record also features Chaka Khan, Tierra Whack, Kaliii, Jimmy Jolliff, Labrinth and Kylie Minogue, who features on the single ‘Dance Alone’.
Previously, Sia was caught in controversy over her depiction of autism in her 2020 film ‘Music’.
The ‘Chandelier’ hitmaker subsequently apologised for the portrayal before revealing she had been diagnosed with the neurological disorder, having been unaware of it for 45 years.
During an appearance on ‘Rob Has a Podcast’, she told the host: “For 45 years, I was like, ‘I’ve got to go put my human suit on.’ And only in the last two years have I become fully, fully myself.
“I’m on the spectrum, and I’m in recovery and whatever — there’s a lot of things.”
Sia also announced that she was now sober after years battling substance abuse.
She explained: “Nobody can ever know and love you when you’re filled with secrets and … living in shame. And when we finally sit in a room full of strangers and tell them our deepest, darkest, most shameful secrets, and everybody laughs along with us, and we don’t feel like pieces of trash for the first time in our lives, and we feel seen for the first time in our lives for who we actually are, and then we can start going out into the world and just operating as humans and human beings with hearts and not pretending to be anything.”

You don’t have to worry about anyone’s ears or opinions or anything at all. It’s in your contract to make an album but no one can hear it.’
“We pretty much made that album. We made that album without much thought of other people.”

Grimes promises to ‘cap the disarray’ at Coachella this weekend

OHMYGOSSIP — Grimes has promised fans she will “cap the disarray” at Coachella this weekend following her disastrous show at the festival last week.
The 36-year-old singer took to the stage at the music event held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, last weekend but was left frustrated and embarrassed after her set was mired in technical issues.
Now, Grimes has assured fans her next performance at weekend two of the festival will be much better as she has rehearsed every moment over and over.
Taking to X, she wrote: “Whose ready for Coachella weekend 2?
“I will cap the disarray at a maximum ten seconds per song – I don’t know if there’s ever been a more rehearsed or fine tuned grimes set [sic]. And I made another blackpink remix for good measure [sic].”
Grimes was left screaming with frustration after equipment issues forced her to restart her song ‘Music 4 Machines’ several times, and was left dismayed due to her backing tracks playing at double speed.
She said: “This is insane. All my tracks are double the tempo. This is a difficult thing to explain but we’re having a major technical error.
“Don’t judge me for being bad a calculating things. All my tracks are double tempo and I can’t do the math. They’re borderline un-mixable, so the rest of my set won’t be mixes but it’ll still be fun.”
After her catastrophic performance, the ‘Shinigami Eyes’ hitmaker apologised to disappointed fans on X – the social media platform formerly known as Twitter which was bought and renamed by her ex-partner Elon Musk, the father of her two children.
She posted: “I want to apologise for the technical issues with the show tonight. I wanted to come back [really] strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself – to save time this was one of the first times I’ve outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpms and letting someone else organise the tracks on the sd card etc.
“I had a bad feeling beforehand not having run everything thru the cdjs myself and tho [though] I flagged it I wasn’t insistent. The big lesson for me was a mix of…
“1 If u want it done right, do it yrself. 2 Be a c- even if ppl feel bad. 3 Probably pretend it’s fine and engage w [with] the crowd rather than spend a whole show slumped over the desk trying to fix software when ur [your] meant to be entertaining [sic].
“I will personally organise all the files next week. I will not let such a thing happen again.
“I’ve spent months on this show, making music and visuals, and admittedly am not in the best mood atm [at the moment].”

Jack Antonoff ‘overwhelmed’ by the reaction to The Tortured Poets Department

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Antonoff is “overwhelmed” by the reaction to Taylor Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, on which he worked on as a producer.
The 40-year-old songwriter co-produced the LP and companion record ‘The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology’ with The National’s Aaron Dessner and Taylor and he has taken to social media to thank everyone who has listened and posted their reaction to the songs.
On X, he posted: “[I] love this album more than I can say …. love you all very much … more later very overwhelmed … love you Taylor [sic].”
In two separate posts, Jack – who is credited as a co-writer on several songs – appeared to highlight two of his favourite tracks on the album, writing “!! FOTS heads lets go !!”, seemingly referencing the song ‘Fresh Out The Slammer’, as well as stating “Down bad heads as well”, referring to the track ‘Down Bad’.
After dropping ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ at midnight on Friday (19.04.24), Taylor shocked her fans by revealing the record was a “secret double album”, adding another 15 songs as ‘The Anthology’.
She posted on social media: “It’s a 2am surprise: ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is a secret DOUBLE album.
“I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second instalment of ‘TTPD: The Anthology’. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore … it’s all yours.”
The pop superstar then explained that the double album mirrors a point in her life that’s “now over” and emphasised she has “no scores to settle once wounds have healed” – with fans theorising many of the songs explore her failed relationship with actor Joe Alwyn and her brief romance with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.
Taking to Instagram, she penned: “’The Tortured Poets Department’. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time – one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.

Olivia Rodrigo makes surprise Coachella appearance with No Doubt

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo made a surprise appearance during No Doubt’s set at Coachella on Saturday (13.04.24).
The ‘Vampire’ hitmaker was welcomed onto the stage during the reunited group’s set on the main stage at the Los Angeles music extravaganza and she joined the group for a performance of their 2000 single ‘Bathwater’, with the 21-year-old star and frontwoman Gwen Stefani trading verses.
Olivia – who wore a tanktop with the slogan “I 3 ND” – and Gwen hugged at the end of the song before leaving the stage together.
The set marked both Olivia and No Doubt’s first time performing at the festival and was the ‘Just a Girl’ hitmakers’ first gig together since they went on hiatus nine years ago.
The group began their set with ‘Hella Good’ and mixed classic such as ‘Don’t Speak’ and ‘Just a Girl’ with less-widely known fan favourites including ‘Different People’, ‘Happy Now?’ and ‘Total Hate 92’.
The set came after Olivia recently praised Gwen as a “true artist”.
She told NYLON magazine: “Gwen’s ability to evolve and explore different styles of music, songwriting, and aesthetic while still remaining true to herself is incredibly inspiring.
“To me, she’s a prime example of an artist who defies stereotypes and preconceived boundaries and just makes stuff that she thinks is cool. If that’s not a true artist, I don’t know what is.”
Olivia was 15 when she discovered No Doubt’s 2000 album, ‘Return of Saturn’, and she quickly developed a connection with the themes of the record.
The ‘Bad Idea Right?’ hitmaker explained: “Gwen sang about being a woman moving about this world in detail that I had never before heard put to music.
“She unapologetically sings about things ranging from wanting to make out with someone to fantasising about having a husband and kids. There’s so much heart in every word she says, and every song feels like it’s ripped from the diary of the coolest girl you know.”

‘Seamless’: Black Keys talk collaborating with Noel Gallagher

OHMYGOSSIP — The Black Keys taught Noel Gallagher a new way of working.
The former Oasis rocker features on the duo’s new LP ‘Ohio Players’ and though the studio process with him was “seamless”, the pair were amazed to find it was all new to the ‘Live Forever’ hitmaker because he doesn’t usually write with other people.
Drummer Patrick Carney told the Daily Star Sunday’s Wired column: “We got on really well creatively. It was seamless working with him.
“Noel said, ‘I’ve never written with other people in the studio’ so we popped his cherry in that regard.
“That was surprising to me that he hadn’t done that – it’s pretty much how we make most of our music.
“Noel would usually write the chords and the lyrics himself then bring it to the band and do it like that. I always make it up on the spot.”
And while their collaboration ‘On the Game’ features on the album, there may be more to come from Noel and the Black Keys.
Patrick said: “We got a song on the first day and we got a song on the second day and we got a song on the third day – a whole take.
“On the fourth day, we went into the studio and just kind of [messed] around – we didn’t want to push it.
“We already had so much great [stuff], if we ended with a bad song it was just going to ruin the experience.”
The ‘Gold on the Ceiling’ hitmakers had been warned they were unlikely to get Noel on board but it took him just a few days to agree.
Patrick said: “We kept hearing, ‘Noel doesn’t collaborate like that’.
“But my neighbour was the Oasis booking agent for about 15 years. I was going golfing with him one day and I said, ‘We’re trying to reach Noel’. He said, ‘I could drop him a line.’
“A couple of days later, we heard back from Noel that he’d give it a try if we came to London.”

Grimes apologises for disastrous Coachella set

OHMYGOSSIP — Grimes has apologised following her disastrous set at Coachella which left her screaming with frustration.
The singer performed at the California music festival on Saturday (13.04.24) hitting the stage on top of a giant mechanical spider, but her set was plagued by technical difficulties and equipment malfunctions that meant she had to restart her song ‘Music 4 Machines’ several times with Grimes telling the crowd her tracks were all playing at double speed.
She said: “This is insane. All my tracks are double the tempo. This is a difficult thing to explain but we’re having a major technical error. Don’t judge me for being bad a calculating things. All my tracks are double tempo and I can’t do the math. They’re borderline un-mixable, so the rest of my set won’t be mixes but it’ll still be fun.”
However, the singer was left screaming in frustration as the technical issues continued and she has now taken to X – formerly known as Twitter – to say sorry.
She wrote: “I want to apologise for the technical issues with the show tonight.
The big lesson for me was a mix of …

Grimes went on to insist it will never happen again when she returns to Coachella for the festival’s second weekend.
She added: “I will personally organise all the files next week. I will not let such a thing happen again.
“I’ve spent months on this show, making music and visuals, and admittedly am not in the best mood atm [at the moment].
“But, yeh – next week will be flawless, everything will run thru [through] my hands.
“Some good lessons learned. Bless y’all. The cdjs were showing me bpms like 370 so I couldn’t even mix manually by ear and the front monitors were off so it was literally sonic chaos on my end trying to guess how stuff was sounding for u guys.
“Plz forgive me! Love, always [sic].”

Kesha and Reneé Rapp cover Tik Tok and blast P Diddy

OHMYGOSSIP — Kesha joined Reneé Rapp for a cover of ‘TiK ToK’ at Coachella – and blasted P Diddy in the lyrics.
The ‘Woman’ hitmaker was among a host of guests who joined the ‘Mean Girls’ star for her set at the Outdoor Theatre at the California festival on Sunday (14.04.24), also including original cast members of ‘The L Word’ and Towa Bird.
Katherine Moennig, Leisha Hailey, Jennifer Beals and Ilene Chaiken from the hit noughties programme, which follows the lives of a group of lesbian and bisexual women who live in West Hollywood, introduced the star to the stage and declared ‘The L Word’ her “favourite show”.
Around the halfway point, Kesha, 37, walked out onstage donning a top with ‘I Am Mother’ emblazoned across it, and Reneé, 24, hailed her “the hottest person on the Earth”.
She told the crowd: “Ladies and gentlemen, this I think is the hottest person on the Earth. Everybody put your ******* hands together for Kesha.”
Amid disgraced 54-year-old rapper Diddy’s sexual assault scandal, Kesha switched the ‘Tik Tok’ line “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy” to “Wake up in the morning like f*** P. Diddy.”
Towa Bird joined Reneé for ‘Tummy Hurts’ towards the end of the set.
It’s not the first time Kesha has adapted the track.
Kesha dropped Diddy’s name during her performance at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California, in November, as allegations against him emerged.
She sang: “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me.”

Raye to switch things up on next album

OHMYGOSSIP — Raye has teased a change of direction for her next album.
The ‘Ice Cream Man’ singer performed at Coachella over the weekend, where she let the crowd in on a secret about her follow-up to her much-lauded debut album ‘My 21st Century Blues’.
She told festivalgoers at the Empire Polo Club in Indio: “This next piece of music I’m going to put out, I’m so proud of it and I just need you to know. I can’t wait for you to hear it, it’s not what you expected.”
In a 2023 interview about being snubbed by the Grammys, the record-breaking BRIT Award winner insisted she has “barely scratched the surface of what I know musically I can give.”
She wrote on X: “just a message to say thank you for all the lovely messages but just to let you know I am not upset at all, I am hungry and grateful
the Grammys are awarded for the best music has to offer and I have barely scratched the surface of what I know musically I can give (sic)”
Raye became the first artist in history to win six awards in a single night at the BRIT Awards last month.
However, the ‘Prada’ hitmaker felt like her career was crumbling just 18 months before her triumph at the ceremony.
Raye worried her musical dream was slipping away less than two years ago when she had to beg her agent not to drop her.
The 26-year-old star told The Times newspaper: “I’m just happy to be here: 18 months ago my career had gone to [hell]. I remember seeing my live agent at a gig.
“I went up to him, with tears in my eyes, and begged him not to give up on me. I told him I had more fight in me. A week later he set up this tiny tour.
“It was a hundred tickets per venue; me sat at the piano for two hours, talking the audience through my story so far. Had someone said then that I’d be at the O2 [venue] in less than two years, even I would have thought they were mad.”
Three years ago, Raye parted ways with her record label Polydor Records after accusing them of refusing to release her albums and she went on to relaunch her career as an independent artist.

Damon Albarn mocks Coachella crowd for not singing along to Girls and Boys

OHMYGOSSIP — Damon Albarn informed the apathetic crowd that Blur will never play Coachella again.
The Britpop legends were performing 90s tune ‘Girls and Boys’ at the California music festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on April 13, when the 56-year-old frontman blasted the young crowd for their lacklustre response.
He said: “You’re never seeing us again so you might as well f****** sing it. Know what I’m saying?”
Fortunately, they played hit ‘Song 2’ next and the crowd picked up.
Damon also addressed a viral TikTok of the song being performed by a hoover.
He said: “This song has been so good to us. But I did get shown a TikTok of it being kind of performed by a vacuum cleaner which is you know…. It is humbling and inspiring at the same time.”
During Blur’s pre-Coachella warm-up gig at the Fox Theater Pomona in California, last week, Damon claimed several Americans have tried to take credit for penning ‘Song 2’.
He said: “Because of the nature of American law, if someone gets a lawyer … they can come quite a long way with absolutely no grounds. Someone else this year – not only is it that person who’s convinced they’d written it, but there was another person who was convinced.
“Firstly, I wonder why it’s only that song that they’re interested in.”
Liam Gallagher had seen Damon’s comments and mocked ‘Song 2’ by boasting he could have written it “sitting on my head”.
He penned: “Gotta be out of your box to claim to have written that song absolute TURDOS. (sic)”
The ‘For What It’s Worth’ singer was then caught in a heated debate with Blur’s fanbase on the platform, in which one user claimed, ‘Song 2’ is “better than any song you wrote Liam.”
Liam – whose estranged brother Noel Gallagher, 56, was the chief songwriter in Oasis – bit back: “I could write that standing on my head you s****bubble.”
He later added: “It’s music for posh brats.”
However, the ‘Live Forever’ hitmaker did have some compliments for the rock group, and admitted he wished he had written ‘Sing’, from their 1991 debut album ‘Leisure’, as it makes him cry “like a baby”.
At the height of the battle of Britpop, Oasis vs Blur, Noel infamously said he wished Damon and his bandmate Alex James, 55, would “get AIDS and die”.

Will Smith brought Men in Black to Coachella alongside J Balvin

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith surprised the crowd at Coachella by joining J Balvin for a cover of his 1997 theme song for ‘Men In Black’.
No-one anticipated the 55-year-old Hollywood star – who portrayed NYPD detective James Darrell Edwards III / Agent J in the sci-fi action classic – performing at the California festival, but it made sense that he would perform during the 38-year-old Reggaeton superstar’s alien-themed set.
He showed up in his character’s signature black suit and sunnies and as he joined the stage he shouted: “Coachella!”
Will even used the “Neuralyzer” to wipe Balvin’s memory as he was dragged off stage.
The surprise appearance comes after it was reported that the actor will address his infamous Oscars slap “head-on” ahead of his Hollywood comeback.
Will stars alongside Martin Lawrence in ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’, and is preparing to embark on a big PR campaign ahead of the film’s release.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “This film is Will’s big comeback and his team are going all out to get him out there.”
‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ is Will’s first major film project since he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022.
And the Hollywood veteran intends to address the “elephant in the room” during the promotional campaign for the movie.
The insider explained: “He will deal head on with the slap and how he has changed since then. It’s likely he will also speak about his marriage to Jada [Pinkett Smith], after they secretly split up more than six years ago.
“The slap is still a bit of an elephant in the room and Will is going to tackle it head on.
“He is booked to appear on a number of big US TV shows and will be an open book.
“People love a redemption story and Will has done a lot of work on himself. He also has a huge fan base who want him back in the thick of the action.”
Will previously apologised to Chris, 59, for his behaviour at the Oscars.
The actor also promised that he would make amends for his mistake.
He said in a statement: “I know it was confusing. I know it was shocking. But I promise you, I am deeply devoted and committed to putting light and love and joy into the world. And if you hang on, I promise we’ll be able to be friends again.”

Catfish and The Bottlemen to play biggest show to date at Liverpool’s Sefton Park

OHMYGOSSIP — Catfish and The Bottlemen have announced their biggest show to date in Liverpool.
The indie rockers will play to around 32,000 fans on July 11, as part of the In The Park Festival at the city’s Sefton Park, in what will mark one of the biggest concerts to ever take place in the northern city – behind Michael Jackson’s Aintree Racecourse show that was attended by 125,000 people in 1988.
More acts will be added to the bill in due course.
Tickets for the show will go on sale at 10am on Friday (19.04.24) via www.intheparkfestival.com.
Tom Grennan, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man and more will play shows in Liverpool and Newcastle-upon-Tyne as part of the festival series.
The ‘Longshot’ band will also headline shows at Cardiff Castle on July 19, and Edinburgh Summer Sessions on August 24.
The band are also headlining the Reading and Leeds Festival main stage in August.
In February, Catfish returned with their first single in five years.
The rock group recorded ‘Showtime’, in Los Angeles with award-winning producer Dave Sardy, who has previously worked with the likes of Oasis and the Rolling Stones.
The track reflects frontman Van McCann’s evolution as a songwriter and is the first song off the band’s much-anticipated new album.
Meanwhile, Van previously admitted to being hugely ambitious as a performer.
The songwriter also revealed that he’d been inspired by Oasis during his younger years.
The 31-year-old singer told the Guardian newspaper: “I want us to play stadiums. Not just arenas, but stadiums.
“If you’re in a band and you don’t want that it’s like saying you’re happy sitting on the bench at Liverpool. If I was gonna be a bin man, I’d make sure I was the best. You’re here one day and gone the next, so why not want to play in football stadiums?
“I remember going to see Oasis at Heaton Park when I was a kid and no matter where you were in Manchester, the vibe was Oasis. It was like a magnet had been dropped in the centre of the city and was drawing everyone in. That’s what I want happening with us.”

Dua Lipa started planning third album before her debut was finished

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa was planning her third album before her debut.
The ‘Illusion’ hitmaker is set to drop new LP ‘Radical Optimism’ on May 3, and the idea of the record being produced by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker goes back to before she finished work on her 2017 self titled LP.
Dua, 28, told Time100 magazine: “I remember when I was working on my first album, I was making notes on what my third album was going to be.
“It’s mad to think about, but I remember speaking to my close friend and A+R Joe, ‘Maybe album three, I could work with Kevin Parker’, and he was like, ‘Alright, hold your horses, let’s take baby steps.’ ”
However, Dua was already full of ambition and was planning for her first two albums to prove she was “deserving to be in a room” with someone respects “so deeply”.
She added: “Since I was very little, I’ve jotted down things I dreamt for myself. I’ve always planned ahead.
“Although surprises arise that I evaluate in the moment, there’s always been a long-term goal.”
She is a big believer in “manifesting” your goals, and she encouraged people to write their dreams down to help make them come true.
She explained: “It’s important to just write things down, you never know what could come true. Manifesting is a big thing for me.
“Subconsciously, you just work towards them. Nothing’s too big.”
The singer and actress has evolved as an artist and person since her debut seven years ago, and her latest single is an example of that development.
Dua – who was named by Time100 as one of the most influential people in the world – noted she is “definitely not the same person” as she was when she wrote her first record.
She said: “I’ve evolved and learned so much, taking it as it comes, not seeing anything as bad or something as a setback.
“That involves a lot of growing and understanding myself, knowing my worth, whether it be in business, love, or friendship.”

Donald Glover to retire Childish Gambino

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Glover is to retire his music alter-ego Childish Gambino.
The musician/actor has released four albums under the name and he has now confirmed he will put out two more records before walking away from the moniker for good – with the first set to be a finished version of his 2020 recording ‘3.15.20’ which will land under the original title of ‘Atavista’ and his final album as Childish Gambino will be the sound track to his film ‘Bando Storm and the New World’.
During an appearance on his Gilga Radio project – live streamed on Instagram – he explained: “The project I put out, ‘3.15.20’ that no one’s ever heard of, people didn’t even know I put it out, it was originally titled ‘Atavista,’ it was supposed to be ‘Atavista’.
“But we put it out quickly, I didn’t master or mix it, I just kind of put it out. I was going through a lot … thought everybody was going to die because it was the pandemic. We put it out, we finished it, it’s ‘Atavista,’ we’re putting that out. But then after that, there’s a Childish Gambino album, the final Childish Gambino album.”
He confirmed the final record will be a soundtrack and it is inspired by Prince’s 1989 album which accompanied the ‘Batman’ movie.
It comes after the star admitted he has been struggling to find the time to focus on music inbetween his acting roles because he’s busy being a dad to his three young sons with Michelle White.
During an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, he explained: “It used to just flow, but now I have kids. Nothing flows anymore. […] Nothing’s as easy as it used to be. So I do block off time now because I’m like, ‘Oh, I want to be here for them at this time, and I want to make sure I see his game, and I want to make…’
“So that takes a lot of scheduling. But I have this kind of farm, I call it, where it’s like an art farm, where I just like… when I go there, then I get to be as ADD as I want.”

CBS to re-air Billy Joel’s concert special after abrupt ending midway through Piano Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Joel’s CBS special, ‘Billy Joel: The 100th — Live at Madison Square Garden’, will be re-shown after it was abruptly cut short midway through ‘Piano Man’.
The music legend’s fans were left baffled after the concert film came to a sudden end before the 74-year-old entertainer had finished his iconic song, and CBS has claimed it finished around two minutes early in some time zones because of a “programming timing error” and apologised to everyone impacted.
The broadcaster is now re-airing it, due to “overwhelming demand” and the backlash, on Friday (19.04.24) at 9pm ET/PT.
It said: “A network programming timing error ended last night’s Billy Joel special approximately two minutes early in the Eastern and Central Time Zones. We apologise to Mr. Joel, his fans, our affiliated stations, and our audience whose viewing experience was interrupted during the last song. Due to the overwhelming demand from his legion of fans, ‘Billy Joel: The 100th — Live at Madison Square Garden‘ will be rebroadcast in its entirety on CBS on April 19th at 9pm ET/PT.”
The two-hour special was filmed on March 28.
Joel is due to end his record-breaking stint at the iconic New York City venue, which first began back in January 2014, on July 25, 2024, with his 150th show.
The ‘Uptown Girl’ hitmaker said at a press conference last year: “I’m kind of flabbergasted that it lasted as long as it did.
“My team tells me that we could continue to sell tickets, but 10 years, 150 shows – all right already!”
Earlier this year, Joel released ‘Turn the Lights Back On’, his first single in 17 years.
