OHMYGOSSIP — Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee says it’s “pure wrong” that he and guitarist Phil Campbell are not listed for the band’s ballot for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The heavy metal band’s late frontman Lemmy Kilmister, guitarist ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke and sticksman Phil Taylor have been posthumously nominated for the class of 2020, and the longstanding band member has admitted he’s “very disappointed” that after 25 years of service in the ‘You Better Run’ group that they will not be honoured if they are selected to be inducted.
He moaned to Billboard: “That is pure wrong, I would say, and I know Phil will be very disappointed, too.
“We’ve been carrying the flag for 25 years together, and actually brought MOTÖRHEAD to what it was.
“We did 25 years out of the 40.
“The original band lasted just a few years.
“They started it off, but as Lemmy said himself they wouldn’t have lasted another six months doing that lineup.
“I don’t think we would’ve been where we are today without the 25 years we spent touring.”
However, he and Phil still plan to attend the ceremony and play the prestigious event in March next year.
He added: “Absolutely.
“I think that’s a must. Phil and me have to attend — and play there, of course. It would be a real honour.”
Mikkey joined the ‘Ace of Spades’ hitmakers in 1992 in the place of Phil – who died of live failure in November 2015 – and made his debut on 1993 album ‘Bastards’ and was in the group until Lemmy’s death in December 2015.
Guitarist Phil joined in 1984 and recorded a total of 16 Motorhead albums, starting with 1986’s ‘Orgasmatron’.
Meanwhile, Whitney Houston, the Notorious B.I.G., Soundgarden, Dave Matthews Band, Pat Benatar, Judas Priest, Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk are also among the 2020 nominees.
Plus The Doobie Brothers, MC5, Nine Inch Nails, T.Rex, Thin Lizzy, Todd Rundgren and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan.
From here, an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians and members of the industry will have their say.
Fans will also get to vote at rockhall.com, in person at the Museum in Cleveland, or by searching “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or any nominee name and “vote” on Google.
The top five artists chosen by the public will make up a “fans’ ballot” which will be counted along with other ballots to select the 2020 inductees.
To be inducted, an artist has to have released their first official recording at least 25 years ago.
The final list will be announced in January next year, with the induction ceremony itself following on March 29 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noddy Holder gets people shouting “It’s Christmas” at him “every day”.
The former Slade rocker can’t get away from people excitedly screeching his last line from the glam rock group’s 1973 Christmas number one ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’.
Noddy is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I hear it every day.
“People want me to be colourful so I try to put on a show.
“I’ve no regrets.
“I always wanted to be a rock ‘n’ roller, and Slade were a s***-hot rock ‘n’ roll band.”
The ‘Cum On Feel the Noize’ hitmaker quit the group in 1992 and barely sees his former bandmates anymore – and the last time they did get together, their meeting quickly descended into an argument.
Asked how often he sees the rest of Slade, he said recently “Not very often. I did see Don [Powell] this year. I haven’t seen Jim [Lea] for a long, long time.
“It’ll be about a year since I saw Dave [Hill] – if I’m going through Wolverhampton, I’ll call in for a cup of tea.
“When I left the band, we weren’t getting on.
“We did get together in the same room about 10 years ago but we were arguing again within five minutes.”
Asked if he can imagine touring with the band again, he said: “No, absolutely not.”
The 73-year-old rocker has kept very little of his memorabilia from Slade’s prime, so doesn’t think the group could be the focus of something like Black Sabbath’s current 50-year anniversary exhibition in their native Birmingham.
Discussing the possibility, he said: “I don’t know, because I gave most of my [stage] costumes to charities.
“The one thing I have is my top hat with the mirrors – in a bank vault in New York.”
Next month will see the release of Slade’s box set, ‘Slade’s Feel The Noize: The Singlez Box’ and the ‘Coz I Luv You’ singer has enjoyed listening back to his old music.
He said: “I like it because I can hear my influences.
“I was singing at working men’s clubs from the age of seven.
“The first song I sang on stage was the Frankie Laine version of ‘I Believe’.
“Little Richard became my idol and that’s what I hear most in my voice.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Big Sean has tapped Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, Meek Mill and more for his upcoming album.
The 31-year-old rapper has revealed details of his fifth LP – his first solo record since 2017’s ‘I Decided’ – which will see the star get real about being diagnosed with heart disease as a teenager and family.
Malone and Rocky feature on the track ‘Wolves’, which Sean says is about his family being close like a pack of wolves.
He explained: “[That song is about] my family growing up. “Everybody’s in there, my grandma, my mom, my brother — it’s like they were a pack of wolves and they were the sweetest and strongest. It’s one of my favourites on the album.”
Rocky also features on another song with Atlanta rapper MadeinTYO.
He said: “Rocky had a verse on [‘Wolves’ originally], but he ended up doing the verse to another song that he and I felt fit a little better with the album.
“That’s another song I got with MadeinTYO. But I just kept it dialed-in throughout.”
The track ‘Lucky Me’ sees the ‘Bounce Back’ star open up about his battle with heart disease and how his mother’s holistic medicine helped mend him.
Recalling a scary moment when he was rushed to the emergency room after passing out, Sean told Entertainment Weekly: “I couldn’t even walk from one side of the room to the other without getting super-tired.
I passed out once in the shower and got rushed to the emergency room.”
On the song, he raps: “Lucky me, I was diagnosed with a heart disease at 19.
“Doctors said they had to cut it open put a pacemaker on it to put it back on beat / ‘Til my mother took me to holistic doctors and they prescribed me magnesium for two weeks / Went back to the regular doctors and they said, ‘Huh? damn, looks like we don’t need to proceed.'”
There is also a brief cameo from Mill and Diddy on another song.
He said: “There’s a song where Meek Mill just says two lines, and Puff had a couple of lines.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shakira has new music in the pipeline.
The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker has just dropped a remix of Camilo and Pedro Capo’s ‘Tutu’ and she has teased fans that she has already completed another tune and is keen to start dropping her new material soon.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on his Apple Music Beats 1 radio show, she spilled: “I’m just taking every input that I receive and it’s turning into inspiration.
“Yesterday I finished a song and I was so thrilled.
“So we’ll see. I just want to put music out there.”
The Latin star didn’t say whether she will have any new music to perform live for fans when she plays the Super Bowl Halftime show with Jennifer Lopez in Miami, Florida, on February 2.
Shakira’s last studio album was 2017’s ‘El Dorado’.
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old singer is planning to celebrate her birthday “with 100 million people” during the Halftime Show and described the performance as “the holy grail of the entertainment industry”.
She said: “It’s gonna be on my birthday! I’ve always wanted to perform at the Super Bowl. I think it’s the holy grail of the entertainment industry…
“It’s a sports event but it has a huge relevance for us artists and I think it’s gonna be fantastic and I’m gonna be celebrating my birthday with 100 million people. Just a small party, it’s surreal, actually.”
Jennifer recently teased that viewers can expect to witness “an explosion of fun and energy” at the prestigious event.
She vowed: “This is gonna be so much fun! [Shakira’s] such a dynamic performer, she does her own thing.
“There’s nobody like her so I know that the two of us together are going to bring that special brand of what we do and there will be people who haven’t even seen us perform who get to see something special that night. It’s going to be an exciting show.
“That’s what you can expect. When you think about Shak and you think about what I do, the combination of that, I think of an explosion of fun and energy!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fleetwood Mac will not be headlining Glastonbury in 2020 after talks broke down over money.
Back in June, Mick Fleetwood hinted that the band would be performing when he told the crowd at the group’s London concert that they still had a “big field to play at a rained out festival in England”, but negotiations between Fleetwood Mac and Glastonbury have reportedly broken down over finances.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Fleetwood Mac have been approached several times over the years and it has never happened.
“But Michael Eavis is a huge fan and really, really wanted to make it work. He knew getting them on board for the 50th anniversary would be extra special and conversations were positive.
“They even hinted at it on stage when they played Wembley in June, joking to fans they still had, ‘a big field to play at a rained-out festival in England next year’.
“But ultimately, while Mick Fleetwood was up for it with the money on offer, other members didn’t feel it was worthwhile.”
Although Mick, 72, didn’t name the festival, Glastonbury is renowned for its inclement weather at the end of June when it takes place on Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England, and is often swamped with mud and sludge.
Surprisingly, Fleetwood Mac have never performed at the world renowned event and Mick previously admitted that the band would “burn in hell” if they didn’t headline it at least once.
He said: “Of course, we’ve been asked to play and it’s never worked out. I think the legend of Glastonbury and Fleetwood Mac will come true. I think I’ll burn in hell if we don’t do it one day.”
The Glastonbury Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2020 and Michael recently dropped a huge hint that Sir Paul McCartney will be one of the headliners.
Speaking to BBC Somerset, he said: “Paul’s on good form at the moment.”
When asked if he had “spoken to him” and if he was coming to play at Worthy Farm again, Michael added: “Hopefully for the 50th, yeah.
“Don’t make a big thing of it though will you?”
Beatles legend Paul, 77, last topped the bill on the Pyramid Stage in 2004.

OHMYGOSSIP — Niall Horan wants to collaborate with Billie Eilish and Lewis Capaldi.
The ‘Nice To Meet Ya’ hitmaker was asked who his dream duet partner would be during an Instagram Stories Q&A with fans on Monday night (14.10.19), and he revealed the ‘bad guy’ hitmaker, Scottish singer/songwriter and rising star Rosalia are at the top of his wish-list.
Asked, “Who would you like to collaborate [with]?”, Niall responded by tagging all three artists.
The Irish hunk also teased fans that he already knows the album title for his second record, replying, “Of course”, when asked if he has nailed it down.
The former One Direction star recently revealed his split with Hailee Steinfeld inspired the follow-up to ‘Flicker’.
The 26-year-old star admitted that many of the songs were inspired by his heartbreak over his breakup with Hailee, 22, whom he dated for almost a year until December.
He said: “Going through heartbreak helped write the ballads, even some of the happy songs – the sad songs that are dressed up as happy songs sometimes. Also, touring. Experiencing touring and being on stage every night, getting that buzz off the crowd and being with fans who have paid their well-earned money to come and watch only you – you learn a lot about yourself, you learn about what people want to listen to.
“I have stuff that I want to write about on my mind all the time. I had just gone through a break up, which helps when it comes to writing songs, I guess. It helps vent the emotions.
“I am just ready to go! The album is fun. There are some very sad moments, but for the most part it is a fun album. There are some nice melodies in there, some cool guitar riffs. I think my fans are going to enjoy it.”
And Niall also revealed that his sultry new single ‘Nice To Meet Ya’ was inspired by a brief flirtation he had with a woman during a night out.
He said: “The lyrics came about from a half-true story. I was out one night and locked eyes with this girl. We got chatting, and she was with a group of her mates and I was with a group of my mates. It felt like every time I turned around – like the lyric says – she just kind of disappeared. But then over the course of the same night, in different bars around that same area, we would bump into each other. It’s a song that is basically like a movie that is based on a true story, and then you start changing stuff that makes the song start to sound a little bit more interesting.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Avril Lavigne is set to play her first shows in the UK in almost a decade.
The ‘Complicated’ hitmaker is bringing her ‘Head Above Water Tour’ to the O2 Academy Brixton in London on April 1 and Manchester’s O2 Apollo on April 2, for her first shows this side of the Atlantic since 2011’s ‘The Black Star Tour’.
The Canadian star wrapped her first North American tour in five years last week, and the 35-year-old singer has admitted being on back on stage again has “brought [her] so much happiness” after her long battle with Lyme Disease – which is passed on via infected ticks – which she developed in 2014, and made her feel like she was “dying”.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Avril said: “I can’t believe how quickly it went by.
“I truly missed being on stage, singing has brought me so much happiness.”
The shows are in support of her album ‘Head Above Water’, which documents her battle with the disease.
The record, which was released in February, was the ‘Girlfriend’ hitmaker’s first studio effort since her self-titled 2013 record.
The ‘Sk8er Boi’ singer previously revealed working on her latest album gave her the strength she needed to continue her career.
She said: “Music has been more healing than ever for me. I was at a point where I wasn’t sure whether I’d be working or even doing music again, and then I started writing songs from my bedroom.
“‘Head Above Water’ and ‘Warrior’ were the first two songs that I wrote, and then they just kept coming. It was cool for me to see because it showed me that music is such a big part of who I am without even thinking about it or trying to make a record.”
Tickets for the UK shows go on sale on Friday (18.10.19).

OHMYGOSSIP — Reverend and The Makers will attempt to make an album using AI (Artificial Intelligence).
The cult rock group’s frontman Jon McClure has revealed their controversial plan – which they freely admit could see a number of musicians, including themselves, looking for work in the future – to produce songs via a “mental music-making machine” which the singer has invented with the help of the University of Sheffield.
The ‘He Said He Loved Me’ rocker insisted that he doesn’t care that his peers think the idea is “weird” because he loves that it p**** people off”.
Speaking on ‘Red Stripe: Presents: This Feeling TV’, Jon said: “I’ve got this mental thing I’ve been doing with the University of Sheffield, we’ve been making artificial intelligence music-making machines, and I’m about to do something in the next six months that no-one’s ever done.
“I said, Listen, I’ve got this idea about making all these mental machines’.
“There’s four bits of it, there’s the beat and the bassline but there’s a thing where you can have artificially-generated lyrics and I’ve been sending them to other people in the music industry to see what they’d think, and the responses have been a bit weird.
“Some people love it and some people are so against it and I like it because it p**** people off.”
Jon thinks bands and artists should have fun with AI before it takes over the music industry and he’s even got a label for making AI music.
He said: “You’ll go to a gym in 10 years and type in gym playlist and it’s like algorithmic dance music.
“I’m thinking let’s make some art here, before it’s used for badness, corporate so yeah, we’re gonna come out with some mad stuff and I’ve got a few projects. I’ve got a label that’s gonna do some stuff and it’s exciting.”
On the subject of tech, the ‘Heavyweight Champion Of The World’ hitmaker recalled retrieving his “big brick” phone from the toilet pit at Glastonbury one year.
He said: “I’ll tell you when I knew phones changed the world and maybe not for the better: I went to Glastonbury and do you remember those big brick phones everyone had, originally?
“I went to the toilet and I’ve dropped my phone into the pit below, you know what they’re like at festivals, there’s all sorts of minging stuff isn’t there? And I’ve climbed in to get it!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake says Lizzo “thought he was lying” when he suggested they should collaborate.
The pair first met at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony in June, and when the ‘SexyBack’ hitmaker asked the ‘Truth Hurts’ singer if she would like to hit the studio with him, she didn’t believe him.
Justin recalled: “I was like, ‘I’m such a fan if you ever want to write,’ and she thought I was lying.
“And we got in and we got a couple of ideas – I don’t know when they’re gonna come out but they’re pretty good.”
The 38-year-old star – who also worked with SZA and Meek Mill – admitted that he wanted to record with some “young, fresh people”, who he thinks are “truly amazing”, and Lizzo is one of those artists.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “To be honest, I just called my publishers and I said, ‘You know, I just want to work with young, fresh people and I want to collaborate more.
“I’ve been songwriting and producing for so long, I want to experience that energy and I want to work with people that I think are truly amazing.
“I’m having these experiences that are fuelling me in such a different way and, again, I think it was really birthed out of feeling like, ‘What can I do right now to just be a part of my community and integrate?'”
The NSYNC star and ‘Juice’ hitmaker teased fans by sharing a video of them jamming in the studio together back in August.
Justin captioned a post on Instagram:
“Lizzo flames, brb. (sic)”
And Lizzo posted the video on her Instagram Stories, and added: “Did some Rap S*** Wiff JT (sic)”
Meanwhile, Justin admitted he is also keen to work with Drake again.
They previously teamed up for the track ‘Cabaret’ – which appeared on Justin’s 2013 album ‘The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2’ – and he had already “talked about” reuniting on a follow-up.
He said: “I love ‘Scorpion’, I think it literally just like answered anything. We’ve talked about [collaborating again] a lot. I don’t wanna say too much because I don’t wanna jinx it, but we’ve talked about it a lot.”
He also noted his reunion with Pharrell Williams on his latest album, ‘Man of the Woods’, is just the beginning when it comes to the work he plans on doing with the renowned producer-and-artist.
Justin added: “I feel like we just got back together, there’s so much more to do and so many more sounds to explore together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica’s Lars Ulrich says his bandmate James Hetfield will be back “stronger and healthier” after they were forced to postpone their tour dates so he could seek help in rehab.
The ‘Nothing Else Matters’ rockers were due to perform in Australia and New Zealand from October 19 through to November, but they axed the shows in September as the frontman had returned to rehab to “work on his recovery” from addiction.
Drummer Lars has now updated their fans to let them now James is doing everything in his power to get himself well, and admitted he and the rest of the band – completed by Robert Trujillo and Kirk Hammett – have been blown away by the support of their fans, whilst he promised they will return to the countries next year.
He told USA Today: “He’s doing what he needs to; he’s in the process of healing himself.
“I feel bad for everybody down in Australia and New Zealand, but we’re excited to get back to full force and come back stronger and healthier than ever.
“Along the way, there’s obviously an occasional bump in the road. “But it’s been an incredible ride, and we’re looking forward to getting back down there, hopefully next year.
“I think the biggest surprise is just how positive the feedback has been from our fans and friends and peers alike.
“It’s very heartwarming, and it’s just blown our minds how much love and appreciation and support we’ve gotten in the last week since we had to postpone this. It’s an incredible thing.”
James’ battle with addiction was documented in the 2004 movie ‘Some Kind Of Monster’, and he spent time in rehab after the film was released.
In 2017, he revealed he had been sober for 15 years and said fear was a huge motivator in his recovery.
Meanwhile, Kirk recently revealed he has tonnes of “kick-ass” material ready for the band to work on for their follow-up to 2016’s ‘Hardwired…To Self Destruct’, as losing “500 musical ideas” when his iPhone broke made him “produce twice as much”.
He said: “I have a lot of stuff written that I’ve put aside for the band — a lot of stuff.
“Because last album, I didn’t have any stuff, ’cause I lost most of my ideas when I lost my phone — over 500 musical ideas … It took me a long time to recover from that.
“And I got it into my head I had to produce twice as much — basically, I overcompensated.
“So, as it stands, as we speak, I have a lot of material — really kick-ass, great material — that I just can’t wait to show the other guys and turn into some music, record, get the album out and have more kick-ass metal.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Whitney Houston and the Notorious B.I.G. have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2020.
The late soul icon and the legendary rapper both appear on the list for the very first time as the organisation has unveiled a varied collection of nominees ahead the ceremony in March next year.
As revealed by SiriusXM VOLUME channel 106’s ‘Feedback’ morning show, they are joined in the group of prospective inductee by Soundgarden, Dave Matthews Band, Pat Benatar, Judas Priest, Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk.
Also landing a spot amongst the nominees are the Doobie Brothers, MC5, Motorhead, Nine Inch Nails, T.Rex, Thin Lizzy, Todd Rundgren and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President and CEO Joel Peresman revealed the news, with Whitney and Biggie joined by seven more first time shortlisted acts.

OHMYGOSSIP — A singer-songwriter has written an album based on her battle with depression.
Stephie Grace, 44, dropped her LP ‘We’re Not Meant To Do This Alone’ on World Mental Health Day (10.10.19) as a way to document her on-going fight with low mood, OCD and anxiety on a daily basis and help others talk about their issues.
She said: “I’ve had mental health issues since the age of nine and I was doing fine for about 10 years, then there were a lot of triggers and I fell off the end of the world. For the first time in 11 years I started counselling and it really helped me. I also used music as a way to get through this time.
“Three years ago I decided to write an album and decided to make it about my journey to try to help other people.”
Stephie, from London, spent 18 months writing her songs and collaborated with a number of up-and-coming singers, including Tom Read and Bryony Dunn.
Her songs tackle the issues surrounding depression and what it is like to suffer from the illness. Her album is inspiring, positive and hopeful.
She added: “World Mental Health Day seemed a powerful day to release the album and inspire other people. All my songs are very frank and from the heart and half the money from the sale of the album will go to Rethink Mental Illness.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine and the Queens’ Chris doesn’t want to be seen as a role model.
The ‘Gone’ singer – whose real name is Heloise Letessier – would rather be seen as “a hint of something” new because she is “afraid” of the pressure of the other title.
Asked about being a role model, she said: “I have always been wary of that title…
“Some artists were a hint for me. When I was really young, I saw ‘Life On Mars’ by David Bowie and realised that maybe there are ways to be in the world that are different. I like that idea way more than being a role model. I’m afraid of role models.”
Chris – who is openly pansexual – thinks it is very important for people to accept themselves, even if it means rejection from others because it’s vital to “live the life you were meant to live”.
She told Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “You have to allow yourself to be that person you crave to be so much. It may involve losing people – I did. But you have to live the life you were meant to live.”
Despite her own fame, the world of celebrity makes the 31-year-old singer feel uncomfortable.
She admitted: “I see people with their phones out, checking who’s the next most famous person to hang out with. To me, it feels like high school all over again.”
The ‘Tilted’ hitmaker changed her name to Chris three years ago and feels “completely intertwined” with her new identity.
She said: “Me and Chris are completely intertwined now. It’s a gesture of allowing myself to become who I want to be. Chris is me. I was just afraid to be it before.”

The 24-year-old singer won’t feature any ballads on the follow-up to her self-titled 2017 record and she is also planning to kick-off a global arena tour in April 2020, according to one of her managers Ed Millett.
Ed told Variety: “It’s more upbeat and dance-y with a disco element — there are no ballads.”
Ed – who co-founded TaP Management with Ben Mawson – also revealed that new client Hailee Steinfeld is planning to follow in Dua’s footsteps with an edgier approach to her new music.
He said: “She likes that our artists are commercial but still credible, that they have their own lane and their own identity. You can be massive but you can also do something boundary-pushing or just smart. And she wanted to explore that.”
And TaP Management are proud of how “credible” their artists are.
Speaking about their new imprint, a joint venture with Universal Music, Ed said. “It’s early days, but it’s exciting and we feel like it’s going to be a big part of what we do over the next few years. What’s amazing is that we’ve achieved commercial success with credible artists — artists with identity. I don’t think we’ve had any cheap, commercial success. Credibility comes in different forms, and some of them are better at certain things than others. But there’s credibility across the roster.”
Meanwhile, ‘New Rules’ hitmaker recently teased her new music is a change of direction, but doesn’t think that’s a “risky” move to have made.
She said: “It would probably be risky if I wasn’t risky with the next record. I don’t think it would be as fun if I tried to recreate the first record. As an artist, you constantly want to grow and change your perspective and try something new.”
Dua already knows “exactly” what kind of record she wants to make for her second studio venture, and whilst she won’t spill too many details about the album’s content, she says she’s recorded “50 or 60” songs.
The singer said: “Before I started, I knew my album title. I knew exactly what I was going to be making. There are some songs that are happy, some about heartbreak, some about dealing with your life in public.”

The ‘Laura’ singer – whose real name is Natasha Khan – was obsessed with the Queen of Pop as a teenager and admits that her music and her image switches have influenced her entire career.
Speaking to GQ, Khan said: “Her style, sass, songs, sexuality, everything was so girlie for me … She was inspirational and provocative and strong and pulled ideas from underground dance and gay culture. I learnt a lot from her. I watched her. I aspired to be as cool as she was in the 80s and 90s.”
The three-time Mercury Prize nominee admitted that she first realised she wanted to be a musician after watching Bjork’s MTV Unplugged.
She added: “I saw her in bare feet jumping around the stage, expressing herself like a feral animal and I thought, ‘I want me some of that!’ ”
London-born Khan released her fifth album ‘Lost Girls’ in September inspired by her new home in Los Angeles and now as a veteran of the music business she can remember when she first realised her music could move people.
The ‘Kids In The Dark’ singer said: “I knew I had affected them [fans], their emotions, that they resonated and were touched by things I was touched by. It gave me a sense of connection and compassion and I thought, ‘Maybe I’m not so bad at this!’
“I remember meeting a fan who had been living with acute pain and told me that she had only survived by listening to my music … It is amazing to meet fans, but when they have a story in which my music has helped in some way, it’s really beautiful.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rick Astley quit music after suffering an emotional breakdown in 1993.
One year after welcoming his daughter Emilie with wife Lene, Rick was on his way to Heathrow to fly to New York, when he had a breakdown on the M4.
He told the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine: “Having Emilie in 1992 changed what I wanted in life. The music business is littered with people losing the plot.
“I was already taking trains and driving in Europe, I didn’t want to fly any more. I had control over nothing. I’d made enough money to say, ‘I don’t need to do this.'”
Rick admitted that working with Stock Aitken Waterman took its toll and he was unhappy with the direction his career was going.
He said: “Stock Aitken Waterman started making it about themselves, not their artists. They felt, ‘It’s our productions that are doing it’. Besides me, not many of their artists wrote their own songs.
“I guess I was naive to think that as a pop star I should have some say in what I was doing. But it was all getting monotonous.”
However, Rick changed his mind about the music industry when he was invited to join the 80s tribute tour ‘Here And Now’ in Japan in 2007.
He said: “I’d always said I was over it, but I got an offer to go to Japan, and Lene and Emilie wanted to go.
“It was with other groups of my era, heritage acts, has-beens, whatever you call us. I loved it.”
