OHMYGOSSIP — Normani’s debut solo album is “almost done”.
The former Fifth Harmony star gave the exciting update as she opened up about how daunting it was leaving the safety net of a girl group to embark on a solo career.
She explained: “Coming out of a girl group, there was a lot that I had to figure out about myself and fears that I had to deal with head-on.
“I was always so safe being in a girl group. I remember my mom when I was little, she was like, ‘Why do you want to be in a girl group so bad? Is it so you can hide?’
“And I think that that was pretty much the answer. But God had other plans for me, and by his faithfulness and his grace … Oh, he’s really, really kept me. Because what we do is not easy, guys, I’m telling you.”
The 25-year-old singer admitted it’s scary putting out the “deepest part of me” for all the world to hear, as she is opening herself up to criticism, but she has never felt more confident about her music.
Normani told guest host Ciara on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ this week: “I think people really underestimate how hard it is and how much effort we put into one project, one body of work.
She added: “When you give your baby out to the world – which is, y’know, our music – that’s the deepest part of me, [and] you give people the opportunity to kind of pick it apart and have an opinion on it; but I believe in what I’m doing now, for sure.”
The ‘Motivation’ hitmaker previously teased that her first record will “finally allow people” to get to know “the real” her.
She said: “I am definitely going to be prioritising real-life experiences and making sure it’s my truth – me as a woman, right now.
“[It] will finally [allow] people to get to know the real me, the real Normani.”
Normani explained how she had been “bottling up” her solo greatness and she knew she had it “within her” long before she unleashed her debut solo single ‘Motivation’ two years ago.
She added: “To the rest of the world it’s like, Oh my gosh, where has she been? What is this?
“For me, this is what I knew I’ve had within myself for such a long time.
“I have just been bottling it up, and I’m so eager to share it with the rest of the world.
“God, like, saved me until he knew that the moment was right – which is now!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Morello “doesn’t know how to work” his home studio.
The Rage Against the Machine rocker’s work came to a “screeching halt” for the first time ever when the coronavirus pandemic hit because, even though he had the tools to record music, he didn’t know where to start until he came across an interview with Kanye West, which inspired him to embrace a simpler method.
He said of new album ‘The Atlas Underground Fire’: This is a record that was born of lockdown. From the time I was 17 years old to the time that the world shut down in March of 2020, I’ve had a non-stop creative motor on me of writing, recording and performing. And it all came to a screeching halt.
“For the first four months or so, I was absolutely adrift.
“I have a nice studio in my house but I don’t know how to work it. Like, I don’t know how to move any of the buttons around.
“So I was like, I’m not going to be able to play shows, I’m not going to be able to record music.’
“But then I was reading an interview where Kanye West said he recorded the vocals to a couple of his big hit records using the voice memo on his phone. So I did that.”
The ‘Killing in the Name Of’ hitmaker hailed his solo album a “life raft for sanity”.
He told Guitar World magazine: “It allowed me to get out of the bunker.
“It was a way to create connections and find a musical community in a time of absolute isolation. Really, it was a life raft for sanity.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blue have ruled out competing in the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ again.
The British boyband – comprising Lee Ryan, Duncan James, Anthony Costa, and Simon Webbe – managed to make it to 11th place with 100 points when they represented the UK with their song ‘I Can’ in 2011.
And when asked if the ‘Guilty’ hitmakers – who are set to make their comeback with a 2022 20th anniversary tour – would like to enter the competition again, Anthony responded: “No. We’ve represented our country.”
Duncan agreed: “We’ve ticked that box.”
After the UK once again suffered a major blow after James Newman – the brother of ‘Love Me Again’ hitmaker John Newman – scored nil points in May with his performance of ‘Embers’ in Rotterdam, Dua Lipa’s management, TaP Music, is to scout a pop star to compete at next year’s show, which will be held at the PalaOlimpico in Turin, Italy.
What’s more, the 2022 entry song is set to be released on a major record label to further boost the nation’s chances of victory.
Simon told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column of our chances of victory: “Now we’re not part of Europe, I’m not sure. If the song is right. It should be about the music, but is it?”
‘Levitating’ hitmaker Dua had said: “I’m a proud Brit whilst also being a proud Kosovan … I’m happy to lend my manager to the cause… I’ll be cheering them on.”
Rome’s Maneskin won the 2021 competition with ‘Zitti E Buoni’.
Meanwhile, Blue will hit the road with Atomic Kitten in September 2022 for the ‘Heart and Soul Tour’.
The reunion shows are to mark two decades since the release of their chart-topping 2001 debut album, ‘All Rise’.
The run, which kicks off in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on September 11, includes a stop at London’s The O2 on September 29.

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud has refused to deny he has a collaboration with Miley Cyrus on his next album.
The ‘Mars’ hitmaker has been “mad-creative” this year and has two albums on the go.
The first, his follow-up to December’s chart-topper, ‘weird!’, is set for release in 2022.
And in a new interview, the ‘fleabag’ singer kept tight-lipped when asked about rumours he has teamed up with the ‘Midnight Sky’ singer on a duet.
He said of his third studio album: “It’s killer. Just you wait – it’s nearly done. I’ve got two albums ready but I’m just finishing the one to put out.”
On the Miley gossip, Yungblud told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Listen, I cannot disclose that information. Maybe, baby.”
Back in January, Yungblud updated his fans on his album progress on Instagram Live.
He said: “I’m in the studio. We’ve been locked down here. I’ve been so mad-creative! I’ve literally nearly got another album done, which is just f****** mental. I can’t wait for you to see.”
The ‘Loner’ rocker – whose real name is Dom Harrison – released his debut album, ’21st Century Liability’, back in 2018, and recently shared how he feels he’s evolved over the last couple of years.
He said: “I don’t have to hide behind an insecure anger like there was on my first album, ’21st Century Liability’.
“I’m a lot more reasonable than I used to be instead of barking straight back, which is what I used to do because I’d been hit by pain and aggression and backlash my whole life.”
The ‘cotton candy’ star loves to experiment with his sound but admitted he finds the music industry “depressing” because people are so keen to label him or pigeonhole him into one area.
He said: “That’s what I found so depressing about the record labels and the press. One day I wear a dress and fishnets, the next a suit. One day I want to do a hip-hop track, the next a metal one. That’s who I am. Who cares? That’s my generation.”

The ‘Only Happy When it Rains’ hitmakers “expect the worst” when they release new material so any positive comments are always much welcomed.
Singer Shirley Manson said: “To be perfectly frank, we’ve reached a point in our career where we just accept the worst.
“We are always quite surprised when we get a positive reaction. It’s not something we really expect or are accustomed to.”
This year, the group marked the 20th anniversary of their ‘Beautiful Garbage’ LP with a re-release and Shirley recalled thinking her career was over after the record first came out and “died on the vine”.
She said: “I honestly thought that was the end of my career and that we were never going to recover.
“It took a long time for us as a band to regain our equilibrium and our confidence and our joy.
“Joy is of monumental importance when you’re an artist, particularly in an industry that has become so hard.
“So to realise that you’ve regained something at this late stage in your life and career feels like unexpected treasure.”
The ‘Stupid Girl’ hitmaker counts the likes of Blondie’s Debbie Harry and Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches amongst her friends and she is always inspired by people who want to “shake the tree”.
She told Classic Rock magazine: “All musicians, whether they like it or not, are tied to each other.
“We’re all out there vying with each other for the connection of an audience and that puts you all in the same swimming pool.
“And when you’re all in the sae pool, you’re going to brush up against one another.
“I’m inspired by anyone who’s willing to push up against the status quo and try and shake the tree.
“I do not want to go to my grave feeling like I’ve watched all this injustice unfold in front of me and never having raised my voice.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney has been hailed “absolutely charming and genius” by St. Vincent.
The Beatles legend asked the 39-year-old singer – whose real name is Annie Clark – to feature on a remix of his song ‘Women and Wives’ for the ‘McCartney III Imagined’ compilation this year, which boasts new versions of the songs from the third self-titled LP in the trilogy.
And the ‘Pay Your Way In Pain’ musician has revealed what it was like working with the 79-year-old music icon.
She told Nashville’s Tennessean: “He’s absolutely charming and absolutely genius.
“I guess you could call it a milestone but not even because it’s so out of this planet. It’s one of those things where you go, ‘Oh man. I made a lot of mistakes but I must’ve done something right somewhere if Paul McCartney is calling me.'”
Vincent also revealed she found it “inspiring” how The Beatles were able to take a “good idea” and “hash it out and make it great”, as documented in the Peter Jackson-helmed Disney+ docuseries, ‘The Beatles: Get Back’.
She added: “Of course, I saw the Beatles doc but what I loved about it so much was … I think a lot of people who don’t make music think about it as magic — and it absolutely is.
“But I found it so refreshing to watch how they could come in with a good idea and hash it out and make it great. That was the most inspiring thing about it.”
Meanwhile, despite being “Beatles all the way”, the Grammy-winning artist revealed she fell “deep” in love with The Rolling Stones while making her most recent LP, ‘Daddy’s Home’.
She told the publication: “That’s another band that I feel into that trap as a kid — Beatles or Stones? And I was Beatles all the way. I always liked the Stones, but I started loving the Stones in a deep way making ‘Daddy’s Home.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher is set to film the making of his next High Flying Birds record.
The 54-year-old rocker will have cameras with him at Abbey Road Studios to capture the “magic moments” of him and his band recording the eagerly-awaited follow-up to 2017’s ‘Who Built the Moon?’.
However, unlike Peter Jackson’s recent Disney docu-series, ‘The Beatles: Get Back’, the ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter insisted there will be no recordings of him putting pen to paper because Noel doesn’t think anyone will care to witness him “noodling away on the same five chords”.
The former Oasis guitarist said: “Me writing, once you’ve seen it for an hour, then you’ve seen it. They’re The Beatles and Paul McCartney is writing ‘Get Back’ and I’m writing a record which, frankly, with the best will of the world, not a lot of people are going to give a s*** about.
“Me noodling away on the same five chords I’ve been using all my life going, ‘Sunshine, through the rain, can’t buy fame . . . ’, it’s not got the same gravitas.
“Once the recording is in full swing there can be magic moments.”
In ‘The Beatles: Get Back’, fans witness Sir Paul McCartney, 79, magic-up early lyrics and the riff to the iconic ‘Get Back’.
Noel plans to hit the legendary studio next month to record the LP.
Speaking on pal Matt Morgan’s podcast, he said: “I started writing the album in January and I thought if I get it finished by the week leading up to Christmas it’ll be great. I actually finished it with one day to spare. I’ll start recording properly on January 20.”
And he also revealed that Oasis”Talk Tonight’, which was written and sung by Noel – who was joined in the Britpop group by frontman and arch-nemesis sibling Liam, 49 – has inspired a couple of tracks on the forthcoming collection.
The acoustic tune was originally released on 24 April 1995 as the B-side to chart-topper ‘Some Might Say’, alongside ‘Acquiesce’ and ‘Headshrinker’, and also features on the 1998 compilation album, ‘The Masterplan’.
The track was penned after Noel walked out on the ‘Supersonic’ group in Los Angeles in 1994, and told his bandmates he was bound for San Francisco, nearly leading to their breakup.
He had met with a girl he got friendly with at a show, who allegedly talked Noel “off the ledge”.
The ‘Slide Away’ hitmaker – who quit Oasis after a backstage bust-up with his estranged brother at their final concert in Paris in 2009, leading to the eventual demise of the band – added: “There’s one or two on the new album which are in that vein.
“One is one of my favourite songs that I’ve ever written, it’s got great chords and it’s very, very sad.
“In the verses, the music is quite sad and the sentiment in the verses is quite strong, but in the chorus the music is quite uplifting and the words are quite sad. “It’s a f****** great song.”

OHMYGOSSIP — James Blunt took 12 years to write one of his new songs.
The ‘You’re Beautiful’ hitmaker’s new greatest hits album, ‘The Stars Beneath My Feet’, also features some new tracks and he admitted the idea for ‘Love Under Pressure’ had been with him for a long time.
He told Red magazine: “I’ve had the piano part in my head for 12 years.
“All of my mates would come over and ask if I could please play something news but I’d failed to make it into a complete song.”
After almost two decades in the music industry, James thinks his songs are “stronger” now but he worries he has lost his “innocence”.
He said: “I do think my songs are stronger nowadays than when I started out.
“But at the same time, with music, there’s a great beauty in naivety and innocence.
“I feel more competent as a songwriter now, but I also feel that the innocence has perhaps been stripped out of me.”
The 47-year-old singer is known for his witty comebacks on Twitter and he admitted the negative comments he receives used to bother him.
However, he’s been quick to “get over” his critics because of the “massive bonuses” of his job.
Asked if the negative comments bothered him, he admitted: “When I first put out music and I was very, very visible.
“It’s interesting that there can be 100 positives yet the one negative is the one we as humans always find ourselves gravitating towards and being most affected by.
“But I’ve always been of the thinking that if you don’t like something, don’t listen to it.
“You certainly get over it when you go to a show that night and a few thousand people turn up to hear your songs or you’re going on a tour bus around the world.
“There are some massive bonuses. I live in Ibiza. I get into clubs for free. So I’ll take it.”

The Little Mix singer is preparing to launch a solo career after the girl group announced their hiatus earlier this month, and the English DJ, songwriter and record producer has revealed the pair have collaborated on a track, which he hopes will see the light of day.
The ‘House Work’ hitmaker spilled to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I was in the studio with Jade and she is mega-cool and super-talented. She is also such fun to be around.
“We wrote something really cool so hopefully that can come out too.”
News of the session with Jax, 34, comes after it was reported that the 29-year-old star is in talks with Atlantic Records regarding a solo deal.
A source said: “Jade’s been working super-hard on the new music and those who have heard the tracks say they sound amazing.
“Jade has already met with Sony to talk things through but has really been impressed by Atlantic, and all signs point to her going with them. She has held top-secret talks with them and it’s all really positive.”
And she’s also recently signed to Harry Styles’ management.
The star inked a deal with Full Stop Management – also home to the likes of Lizzo, Mark Ronson, and Saweetie – and is tipped to have huge solo success like the former One Direction star.
Meanwhile, Jade recently revealed her new music is inspired by verses she’s already written as poetry.
She said: “The more writing I’m doing and the more I’ve delved into my love of poetry, I’ve noticed that now when I go into sessions I’ll come in with an existing poem that I’ve written and I’ll be like, ‘I want to turn this into a song’.
“I feel like that really works for me now and has made me a better writer.”
And Jade thinks her boyfriend, Jordan Stephens, has made her a better writer as she learned she doesn’t have to keep her poems and her songwriting separate.
She said: “When I wrote poetry, I always think it’s something I keep to myself and I never really present it to the world – I’m so conditioned to be a songwriter that writes pop music.
“But since being with Jordan we have two very different styles of writing. He doesn’t need to rhyme, he just writes how he feels.
“Since being with him, he’s helped teach me that it doesn’t always have to be an obvious structure when it comes to writing.”
Jade feels more “freedom” around her writing now than ever before.
She said: “I’ve definitely felt more of a freedom with the writing than I did before.
“I’m more confident in myself as well.
“One thing I’ve learned from therapy is just because you wake and have a bad morning doesn’t mean it has to be a bad day, there’s still time to turn it around.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper set funds aside to assist his touring crew during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
The 73-year-old rocker – whose real name is Vincent Damon Furnier – has revealed he financially supported his staff during the pandemic and he hopes that other musicians did the same.
He told Forbes magazine: “We could see that it was… something,” he said. “So we put money aside as a backup for them. Because we knew that their unemployment would run out, you know? And then they’d have something to go to. I think all responsible bands did that. Hopefully.
“Because these are people we live with. We work with them every day. The guys that run the stage are as important as the guys that play guitar. So we made sure that everybody was covered. And that was really important. Hey, we thought this thing was gonna last a month! 18 months?! Unreal.”
The ‘Poison’ hitmaker went on to reveal that while he doesn’t meet any fans – other than VIPs – at his concerts, everyone has a “great story” when he gets to chat to them at music conventions.
He added: “Here’s the deal: Generally, I get into town, we play the show and I leave. I don’t meet anybody – except the VIPs afterwards. You never meet the audience. When I do these [conventions], everybody’s got a story. ‘I saw you in 1973!’ ‘I saw you in 1981!’ ‘I saw you in 1995!’ They all have great stories. And I love hearing that! This is the only time where I can really go one-on-one with fans.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Stanley has tested positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
The KISS rocker has come down with the virus for a second time, despite being fully vaccinated, and his family members also contracted coronavirus.
Alongside a selfie, the 69-year-old musician wrote on Instagram: “My Omicron face! My entire family has it. I’m tired and have sniffles. Most of my family have absolutely no symptoms. Do as you choose. I’m so glad I’m vaccinated.”
KISS were forced to cancel shows after Paul caught coronavirus the first time in the summer.
The ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ group were just four days into the next leg of their delayed ‘End of The Road’ tour when the rock legend tested positive.
Paul and the rest of the band – comprising Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer – are fully vaccinated against the respiratory virus and insisted they had been following COVID-19 safety protocols.
In a statement, the group said: “Everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated. The band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show and in between shows. The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines.”
In his own statement in August, the axe-slayer wrote: “A Full Press Release Will Be Issued Shortly about upcoming KISS shows. I had been sick with flu-like symptoms and was tested repeatedly and was negative. As of late this afternoon I tested positive. The crew, staff and band have all tested negative once again. More to follow.”
The guitarist also branded rumours spreading suggesting he was seriously ill and in intensive care as “absolute nonsense” and reassured fans that he was doing “fine”.
He added to Twitter: “PEOPLE!!! I am fine! I am not in ICU! My heart allows me to do 26 miles a day on my bike! I don’t know where this came from but it’s absolute nonsense. (sic)”
The band told fans: “Tonight’s #KISS show at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA is unfortunately postponed due to Paul Stanley testing positive for COVID. More information about show dates will be made available ASAP. Everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated.”
Gene, 72, later tested positive and they had to axe further dates on the run.

OHMYGOSSIP — Take That are aiming to book their Las Vegas residency for 2023.
The ‘Patience’ group – which comprises Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen – were “so close” to signing an agreement for a concert series in Sin City before the coronavirus pandemic hit, so they are hoping to get their plans back on track soon.
Gary told Heat Magazine: “Just before lockdown we were so close to signing contracts to do a residency in Vegas and we want to do that.
“It won’t be next year, but we’re hoping for 2023.
“It’s something we all want to do and I think our fans would love it.”
While Take That have been on a break, Gary has been working on a festive album, ‘The Dream of Christmas’, which stemmed from him feeling “robbed” of a proper holiday season last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
He explained: “It’s funny how it came about. I love Christmas. I have three kids, we’ve had 20 years of amazing Christmases with children in the house, but even before that I always loved Christmas.
“However, last year, I felt a bit like everyone else, a little bit robbed.
“I was in my studio messing around and started to write some festive tunes, and within just an hour or so, the song ‘The Dream of Christmas’ started to hatch.
“Initially, I was going to write all new songs but then I thought, ‘You know what? There’s so many great Christmas songs out there that I’d actually love to sing.
“I’m going to make it a mixture of, like, 40 per cent new things and 60 per cent classics.’
“And this is the result. I love it and working with people like Sheridan Smith and Alec Jones has been fantastic.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Plant and Alison Krauss want to tour again together.
The pair reunited this year for new album ‘Raise the Roof’ and had such a good time on the road when they last worked together, on 2007’s ‘Raising Sand’, they are keen to get back on stage.
Alison said: “I think it would be a blast. We had a really great time last time and I have no doubt we would have fun again. It was a really great, spontaneous live show.
“We had incredible musicians and it had its own life.”
The duo had often talked about making a follow-up to ‘Raising Sand’ but had to wait until the time was right.
Alison told Classic Rock magazine: “It didn’t feel like a moment too soon. You want something to be inspired and not forced or contrived.
“This just very easily fell into place. It was the right time.”
Robert added: “IT’s a great vacation that we share and a thing we look forward to, but nervously – we’re both pretty heavy on the opinion stakes.”
Alison believes the key to their success is their differing musical backgrounds.
She said: “I think both of us coming up in such different environments musically makes something very different.
“You have people working together but don’t compromise who they are.
“I grew up listening to traditional music, much like Robert, but just a completely different path.
“I grew up on the Jimmy Rogers side and he grew up on the Robert Johnson side.
“It has a beautiful contrast and it shows up on the recordings.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry has unveiled the setlist for her Las Vegas residency.
The 37-year-old pop megastar kicks off her ‘Katy Perry:PLAY’ run at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas in Sin City tonight (29.12.21), which runs through until March 19, 2022.
And the ‘Teenage Dream’ hitmaker has provided fans with the entire setlist ahead of the first performance so they know exactly what they are in for.
Sharing a video of herself putting together the handwritten list, Katy wrote on Instagram: “TOMORROW you can officially come to PERRY PLAYLAND. Where you can come and sing along to so many of your favorite songs! #PLAY (sic)”
The mammoth set will include all the hits, including ‘I Kissed A Girl’, ‘Dark Horse’ and California Gurls’, and will end with fan-favourite ‘Firework’.
Katy recently admitted she loves how her new show will allow her to be “artistic” and also get to be there for her 16-month-old daughter, Daisy Dove, whom she has with fiance Orlando Bloom.
She said: “I really wanted to be able to strike more of a balance – to have a child and take her to preschool – but also be artistic and play with that energy.”
The ‘Smile’ singer shared how having sweet “moments” as a family are “so important” to her.
Katy said: “Orlando and I just did a hike with our daughter. We went to look at some ducks and turtles because it’s so important for me to have those moments every single day, especially when I’m working from 2pm to 9pm.”
The ‘American Idol’ judge also gave a teaser of her family-friendly “visual feast” and its retro pop culture references.
She said: “I like to bring a visual feast, and this is a set-in-the-’60s, ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ movie on mushrooms.
“It is a dance party through and through but I also aim to make it a show that anyone can come to, from ages six to 80, and I really pride myself on that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender will “definitely” collaborate with Sir Elton John in the future.
The 27-year-old star has become friends with the ‘Tiny Dancer’ legend but his packed scheduled in 2021 meant he had to reject an offer to team up with the iconic musician on his ‘Lockdown Sessions’ album as he was focused on finishing his second record ‘Seventeen Going Under’.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, he explained: “It sounds awful to say, ‘I was too busy to work with Elton’, but I needed to finish my album.
“Me and Elton will definitely happen at some point. We just need to find time to get into the studio.
“We want to make something special together. I’d love us to make something stripped back, that sounds organic with a band.”
The musician might have some more time on his hands as he admitted such an intense workload means he’s already got material written for his third album.
He said: “That album was a tough labour. I wrote about 60 songs for it. Some of those songs will carry over to my next record, as I didn’t finish all of them.
“I know that I’ll look back at some of them and think, ‘That’s great! Why didn’t that make Seventeen?’
“A hell of a lot of work went into that album but, about halfway through recording, we kept having moments of looking at each other and just giggling.
“That’s when I thought, ‘We’ve done something good here.’ ”
Meanwhile, he insisted his huge success won’t impact his songwriting at its heart as he wants to keep penning tracks about his hometown of North Shields.
He added: “My friends, the stories I know and the things I see in my hometown are what give me a constant source of material.
“Unless North Shields gets gentrified to the point where it’s the new Dubai, I don’t think I’ll ever run out of stuff to write about.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Martin has been singing opera to better his vocals.
The Coldplay frontman has revealed he “stepped up” his game amid the pandemic as his vocal trainer got him belting out operatic numbers to strengthen the muscles.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Chris told a US radio station: “I train vocally because I want to get better.
“I have had a teacher for a long time but during the pandemic, we stepped it up. A very good way to develop those muscles is by trying to sing opera.
“Right now I am a really, really good Coldplay singer and a really bad opera singer, but I am trying.”
The ‘Yellow’ hitmaker’s vocal work comes after the 44-year-old musician claimed the ‘Higher Power’ hitmakers will stop making music in 2025.
Chris spilled: “Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that, I think we will only tour.
“Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.”
The interviewer, BBC Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley, explained that she wasn’t entirely certain if Chris was being serious when he dropped the bombshell.
She said: “He’s going to be a DJ for the night. We play Christmas songs, we talk about Christmas past, what it’s like at the moment and the future too.
“He’s always very funny and I’m never quite sure if he’s joking or being deadly serious.
“Towards the end of the time we spent together he shared something pretty honest and pretty intimate which was a huge revelation.”
Chris has previously said that the group – which is also made up of Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – will only make three more albums after they released their ninth record ‘Music of the Spheres’ this year.
He said: “I think that in a few albums time we will finish making albums.
“This is not a joke, this is true, I think after 12 that will be the end of our catalogue.”
