OHMYGOSSIP — N-Dubz have inked a two-album deal with a major record label.
The ‘I Need You’ group – comprising cousins Dappy, Tulisa Contostavlos and Fazer – reunited last year for an arena tour and released ‘Charmer’ – their first song since 2011’s single Morning Star – and there’s set to be plenty more new music on the way for fans after they signed the contract with EMI.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The deal is massive for N-Dubz and their fans.
“For years it looked like they were never going to reunite but after the success of their tour, they found themselves with multiple offers on the table.
“They are now signed to EMI for two new albums and are recording at Grouse Lodge Residential Recording Studios in Ireland – an hour outside of Dublin.
“In terms of when fans will get to hear the songs everything is still up in the air but hopefully by the time their summer shows kick off at least a couple of tracks will have been released.”
The Dublin studios have been used by the likes of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, plus REM, Snow Patrol and Sir Tom Jones in the past.
N-Dubz are also set to play five open-air shows across the UK next summer.
The reunited trio – who went on an indefinite hiatus in 2011 before returning in May – have a series of concerts planned for 2023.
On July 7, the band will be playing at Brighton Valley Concert Series, with a gig at Margate Summer Series the following day.
They’ll be in Scarborough on July 20, followed by dates at Gunnersbury Park, London (August 11), and The Bay Series, Cardiff (September 8).
As part of the summer tour, the band has also announced shows at the QEII Arena in Telford (July 9), Sunderland’s Ferrington Country Park (July 21) and Stadium CSM at Colywyn Bay (July 22).
The ‘Better Not Waste My Time’ hitmakers were also announced for the Isle of Wight Festival on June 15.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Goldblum has recruited Kelly Clarkson for his upcoming EP ‘Play Well with Others’.
The 70-year-old Hollywood star – who is a keen pianist – has reunited with his long-time band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra for the new collaborative mini album set for release on March 24.
The ‘Since U Been Gone’ hitmaker appears on a cover of Cole Porter’s 1930s classic, ‘Don’t Fence Me In’.
The song opens with the lyric “Wildcat Kelly”, and Jeff had asked her to do the cover during an appearance on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’.
The lead single is a take on ‘Moon River’ from Audrey Hepburn’s 1961 classic ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ with Atlanta singer Mattiel Brown, and is out now.
Mattiel – who has a song called ‘Jeff Goldblum’ – said: “I’m thrilled to be working with a like-minded artist of Jeff Goldblum’s incomparable calibre. I couldn’t have imagined this outcome from penning some lyrics about an old boyfriend, but the stars seem to have aligned themselves.”
The EP also includes a version of the Jazz classic ‘I Wanna Be Around’ with Brazilian star Rodrigo Amarante.
Jeff said of the project: “The experience of collaborating with these fantastic singers has made me feel that I have revealed myself to myself, and has left me utterly drenched and purged.”
In 2019, Jeff recorded jazz number ‘The Thrill is Gone’ with pop star Miley Cyrus.
He said at the time: “Hearing the one and only Miley Cyrus sing one of our arrangements is both surreal and mesmerising. I can’t stop listening. It’s perfect.”
The duet was featured on his second studio album ‘I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Fatboy Slim is releasing a documentary about his notorious Brighton Beach Boutique II concert.
In the summer of 2002, more than 250,000 fans of the legendary DJ – who launched the Boutique Nightclub in the seaside town – gathered on Brighton Beach in Sussex, England for his second free open-air concert, a record number given only 40,000 were anticipated to attend.
The historical concert quickly descended into chaos and changed the way events are organised in the UK.
And now, Fatboy – whose real name is Norman Cook- and those who were working at the seafront concert have shared the story for the Sky Original ‘Right Here, Right Now’, which is set to premiere on Sky Documentaries on February 4.
A press release states: “Norman, and those who were on the front line of this seismic historical moment talk us through the process and the obstacles; The immense difficulties and struggles that the local police faced with such an unexpected amount of descendants on the city, the councillors and residents that opposed the controversial event and many of those who participated in what Norman has described as a ‘Woodstock moment.'”
Norman admitted he was in “autopilot” mode during the set.
He recalled: “Looking back, I don’t remember much about the actual gig. I must have been completely on autopilot.
“It wasn’t the most relaxed I’d been, because I was aware that we were potentially, if anything went wrong, we could be in a lot of trouble safety-wise.
“What I do remember is just feeding off the energy of the crowd.”
Celebrities including Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Vernon Kay and John Simm have given their accounts of being at the concert.
Fatboy said of the doc: “It has been wonderful with the fullness of time and some hindsight, to revisit such a seismic event in both mine and my hometown’s history. Warts and all, the story told in full…. Watch, sleep, rave, repeat.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara Larsson managed to trick fans into thinking Mariah Carey was featured on her latest single.
The Swedish pop star has returned today (27.01.23) with the new track ‘Can’t Tame Her’, and she pulled a prank on her social media followers by claiming the pop diva is on the track with production from Sir Elton John. Zara also told them her music video is co-directed by James Cameron and Quentin Tarantino and that Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio appears in the promo.
She told People: “A lot of Mariah’s fans were like, ‘Oh, we will be tuning in,’ and they don’t really know it’s a joke. Their replies were like, ‘Wow, girl, you are so lucky. That’s amazing.’
“Hopefully they’ll just be like, ‘It was great anyways. I’ll watch it again.'”
The track is Zara’s first solo release since 2021’s ‘Poster Girl’ LP, and she teased that the upcoming follow-up is “all over the place”.
She explained: “I feel like we go a little bit all over the place, which is me.
“It has higher highs in terms of the energy than Poster Girl, but also lower lows, in the sense of the stillness, emotion and sadness. It’s very dynamic.”
Zara admitted that although she would love to have a hit with her new songs, she’s not putting any pressure on herself.
She said: “I just think this next album is way better than ‘Poster Girl’, and that’s how I want to keep evolving, to be way better and prove myself.
“I’m definitely always working towards a commercial hit, but I’m not beating myself up as much because I know that I’m really talented … It’s just a matter of time before people realise that.”
The ‘Ain’t My Fault’ hitmaker, 25, is also planning a huge global tour.
She said: “I wanted to do an arena tour really badly here in Scandinavia, which I did.
“I want to perform my songs live in front of people, so it’ll be incredible to take this album on a big tour.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Idina Menzel regrets asking the composers of ‘Let It Go’ to make the song higher.
The 51-year-old actress voiced the role of Queen Elsa in the 2013 animated Disney musical ‘Frozen’ and was given the now-classic song ‘Let It Go’ to record for the movie, but was concerned that she sounded too “mature” for her 21-year-old character so asked the composers to alter the pitch, which has made all live performances of the track since more difficult.
She said: “I knew it was a real accomplishment and a great get to be a Disney princess, to be welcomed into the Disney family and be in a musical, I knew that that was pretty epic, but I had no idea it would become the phenomenon that it did. So, I came in once and I sang it and I came back another time, because they had written another part to it and they changed some of the lyrics. I realized that I felt like my voice sounded too mature, in order to really embody this young woman that you see in the movie, so I asked them to take it up — I don’t know why I did that, because when I’m in concert all over the world and I have a cold and I just want to kill myself.”
The ‘Enchanted’ star – who reprised the role of Elsa in 2019 movie ‘Frozen II’ but is also known for originating the part of Elphaba in Broadway hit ‘Wicked’ – added that while she is “glad” because the character now sounds “more vulnerable” but always wonders what made her request the changes when she watches the movie today.
She told CNN: “But I asked them, ‘Let’s take it up a half-step and see,’ because then it sounds a little bit more innocent in my voice, a little younger. As I was watching it just now, I was thinking, ‘Jeez, what was I thinking there.’ But, I’m glad, because she sounds a little younger and little bit more vulnerable.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Navarro is not ready to rejoin Jane’s Addiction on tour.
The 55-year-old musician has been struggling with Long COVID, the sustained illnesses people can suffer with after recovering from COVID-19, and Josh Klinghoffer will replace him for their upcoming tour.
Jane’s Addiction said in a statement: “We’d like to address the questions surrounding Dave and the upcoming Jane’s shows. As a band we are in a great place, writing new music, and the bond is tighter than ever. We all hope Dave can be out playing with us; when he feels healthy and ready.
“For the near future, our brother Josh Klinghoffer will jump in for the upcoming shows on the west coast, South America and some additional international shows to be announced soon. We want to thank you for being there with us over these thirty some odd odd years. You know, we’re going to keep throwing down for you.”
Last year, Dave revealed he had been struggling with Long COVID since 2021.
He wrote, in a now deleted Instagram post: “So yeah, I’m one of the ones who came down with the ‘long haul covid’. Been sick since December and supposedly will be back to my old self in… nobody knows how long.
“If there are any of you who are still suffering long after your negative results, I’m just saying you aren’t alone.
“The fatigue and isolation is pretty awful but try to spend your time with the ones you love and stay creative.”
According to the CDC, Long COVID symptoms can include extreme fatigue, post-exertional malaise, fever, difficulty breathing, cough, chest pain, heart palpitations, brain fog, headache, sleep problems, lightheadedness, pins-and-needles feelings, loss of smell/taste, depression or anxiety, diarrhea, stomach pain and joint or muscle pain, along with many others.

The Faithless founder – whose real name was Maxwell Fraser – died on December 24, 2022 at the age of 65 and his bandmates have revealed that his funeral has now taken place.
They wrote on Faithless’ Facebook page on Friday (27.01.23): “We wanted to let you know that Maxi’s funeral was held today in his hometown South London. It was kept private following the wishes of his family.
“We welcome his Faithless family to raise a glass and celebrate Maxi’s life together, wherever you are in the world. If you are moved to contribute anything, Maxi’s wish was not for flowers, but for donations to Centrepoint. Centrepoint is an amazing charity that provides accommodation and support to homeless people in the UK. “He was also a lovely human being with time for everyone and a wisdom that was both profound and accessible. It was an honour and, of course, a true pleasure to work with him.
“He was a brilliant lyricist, a DJ, a Buddhist , a magnificent stage presence, car lover, endless talker, beautiful person, moral compass and genius.
“Rollo, Sister Bliss x.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Seal wishes he’d written Ed Sheeran’s hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’.
The ‘Kiss from a Rose’ hitmaker has huge admiration for the pop megastar – who has 13 number one singles in the UK and has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling musicians – and says his says success simply comes down to being a brilliant singer and songwriter.
Speaking to Classic Pop magazine, Seal said: “The key to being a musician is not to lose sight of the fact that we’re just singers and songwriters.
“That’s it, that’s the job.
“Do that singular job and do it well.
“You can do other stuff like getting political in addition, but make sure you’ve got your songs together.
“That’s one reason I have the utmost respect for Ed Sheeran.
“I don’t own any of Ed’s records. I’ve not seen him in concert.
“But anyone who can stand up there at Wembley Stadium and play for three nights in a row, playing to 90,000 people a night with just an acoustic guitar: that’s someone who does one thing really great.
“He writes fantastic songs and he sings them really well.
“If Ed couldn’t do that, people wouldn’t show up.”
Seal loves Ed’s 2014 hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’, hailing it “one of the greatest songs ever written”.
He added: “Whenever I hear it, I think: ‘God, I wish I’d written that.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Verlaine has died at the age of 73.
The punk star was best known as a frontman of the New York City rock band Television alongside Billy Ficca, Fred Smith and Jimmy Rip but passed away on Saturday (28.01.23) following a “short illness”, with ex-partner Patti Smith confirming the news.
She said: “He died peacefully in New York City, surrounded by close friends. His vision and his imagination will be missed.”
Jesse Paris Smith – who is the daughter of Patti Smith – led the social media tributes.
Jesse wrote on Instagram: “Dearest Tom. The love is immense and forever. My heart is too intensely full to share everything now, and finding the words is too deep of a struggle. The feeling inside is so heavy, though your spirit is light and lifted, it is everywhere, completely and truly free.
“I love you always and forever, and will always remember and hold close the touch of your hand – hands of a beautiful creator and of a love more warm, tender, delicate, and true that one can ever dream. There has never been another like you and there never will be. What a blessing and gift I was given to share my time on earth with you. I will be grateful to the end of my life, and we will see you again beyond that, meeting you there wherever you’ve gone. Thank you for leading the way.”
The ‘Prove It’ rocker founded Television in 1973 with schoolfriend Richard Hell and after recruiting Richard Lloyd, they began gigging around clubs the following year and, following the departure of Richard and the addition of Fred Smith, eventually released their debut album ‘, Marquee Moon’ in 1977, which is – despite selling fewer than 80,000 copies in the US and barely cracking the Top 30 in the UK – is generally thought to be one of the defining releases of the punk era.
Their second album ‘Adventure’ landed at #7 in the UK but a wait of 14 years occurred before the group released their third and final album, ‘Television’ but they have continued tour the world ever since.

OHMYGOSSIP — Yes have sold the rights to their recorded music catalogue.
The legendary prog rockers have agreed a deal with Warner Music Group (WMG) over the rights to their Atlantic Records albums, a total of 29 LPs including their first 12 studio efforts – from their self-titled debut to ‘1987’s ‘Big Generator’- and various live recordings and complications.
The band said in a statement: “The entire Yes family came together and worked enthusiastically with Warner Music Group to secure this historic deal, ensuring that these iconic recordings will continue to be curated in the optimum manner to delight their fans across more than five decades, while also finding and developing new audiences for this timeless music.”
WMG are equally delighted by their new acquisition.
Their president of global catalogue, Kevin Gore, said in his own statement: “My introduction to Yes came while working at a record store in Ohio in 1983. I’ve been a fan ever since and we’re absolutely thrilled and deeply honored that the strong relationship between Yes and Warner Music will continue forever.”
The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
It follows WMG’s similar deals with Madonna, the estate of David Bowie, and 300 Entertainment, which is home to the likes of Yung Thug and Megan Thee Stallion.
Yes have undergone numerous line-up changes since they were formed in 1968 by singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire – who died in 2015 – guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford, with 19 musicians being regarded as full-time members over the years.
Since May 2022, the band has consisted of guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Geoff Downes, singer Jon Davison, and bassist Billy Sherwood, and touring drummer Jay Schellen.
Various offshoots have also toured, with Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman the most famous, having been on the road over the last decade. However, after a 50th anniversary celebration in 2018, they haven’t worked together again.

OHMYGOSSIP — Radiohead have “pondered” the band’s next steps”.
The ‘Creep’ rockers haven’t toured since 2018 and while they are all busy with their own solo ventures at this time, they have been discussing their future.
Speaking to the latest copy of The Big Issue magazine, the drummer said: “Everybody’s very much working on their own projects at the moment, but we get together. We’ve been together, and just kind of pondered next steps. We’re still a band.”
The 55-year-old musician is hitting the road in support of his latest solo LP ‘Strange Dance’, for which he banished himself from playing the drums because he wasn’t “match fit”.
On why he recruited percussionist Valentina Magaletti, he said: “I wasn’t match fit when I got in there.
“It’s a lot easier to admit that to yourself than to somebody else.”
As well as not feeling physically capable of drumming, Philip wasn’t in the “right mindset”.
He added: “I’d originally planned to drum on the record, but I got into the sessions and I wasn’t in the right mindset. Also, I hadn’t drummed for a while. So that physical side wasn’t happening as quickly as I’d have liked.”
‘Strange Dance’ is released on February 24, with the tour kicking off on January 30.
Philip recently suggested their next move could be a project focused around celebrating their 2003 record ‘Hail to the Thief’, teasing: “It’s a long time since that record, isn’t it?”
Radiohead’s last studio album was 2016’s ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ and since then frontman Thom Yorke and guitarist/keyboardist Jonny Greenwood have been focusing on recording and touring with their new band The Smile.
Phil comments come after the band’s guitarist Ed O’Brien previously insisted Radiohead’s future is still up in the air.
He told ’The Line-Up’ podcast: “It might happen, but the other thing is … it might not. And does that matter?
“There’s no Radiohead at the moment. There’s a truth to what we do, so we’re not going to be one of those bands that gets together for the big payday.
“The thing with Radiohead, we could do something in a couple years. We might not. But I think what it has to be, it has to be five people going, ‘I really want to do this again with you.’ And I think at the moment, because we’ve done it for so long, we’re all reaching out and having different experiences. And that should be allowed, and that should be encouraged.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rick Rubin believes Sir Paul McCartney is an underrated bassist.
The studio wizard – who is credited with helping to popularise hip-hop with his work on records by the Beastie Boys, Geto Boys, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, and LL Cool J – teamed up with the Beatles legend on the 2021 miniseries ‘McCartney 3,2,1’
Asked by MOJO magazine how he got Macca chatting, he shared: “I thought about how everything I’ve seen, Beatles-related, is either about the songwriting or Beatlemania. Paul McCartney the bass player, or Paul McCartney the musician, because he plays everything – that’s a little story told.
“You just think of him as Beatle Paul, yet in my opinion, he is the best of all bass players, he’s number 1.”
The producer was amazed that the 80-year-old music icon has the “simplest” approach to writing mega-hits.
He said: “What blew my mind was when he sat at the piano and he started showing me how to write a song.
“He was saying, ‘See, you could it like this’, and what he was showing me was the simplest thing, but then he starts moving his fingers around slightly, and all of a sudden it evolves into ‘Hey Jude’ or ‘Let It Be’.
“He’s using this technique that any child could do, then it morphs into one of the greatest songs of all time!”
The ‘Long and Winding Road’ hitmaker previously likened writing a song to sharing a secret with his guitar.
He wrote in his lyric book ‘The Lyrics by Paul McCartney’: “There’s lots of stuff going on there.
“We always used to say that when you sit down with your guitar to write a song, you’re telling it your secrets, which then become a song for the world.
“But at that moment, when you’re alone, the guitar is your confidante. You cradle it.
“When you go up to a piano, though, it’s almost as if you’re pushing the piano away; they’re different actions completely.”
He also talks to his guitars because he worries they might get “lonely”.
He shared: “I felt quite guilty in a minor way, so I went over and started playing – and then the song that came out was me talking directly to the guitar and talking about all the times it had helped me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — U2 have shared a snippet of a reimagined version of ‘With Or Without You’.
The foursome – which currently boasts a lineup of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr – have put out a preview of their updated edition of their 1987 hit and lead single from their fifth LP ‘The Joshua Tree’, which was a hit all over the world, as part of their ‘Songs of Surrender’ compilation album.
The project – which was announced earlier in January – is tipped for release on 17 March and will contain 40 revamped songs from the band’s career, which has stemmed more than 40 years and spanned 14 albums.
It is also believed to tie in with Bono -whose real name is Paul Hewson – publishing his memoir, ‘Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story’.
Writing in a handwritten note, The Edge first shared the impetus behind the record.
The 61-year-old musician – whose real name is David Howell Evans – detailed that “most of U2’s work “was written and recorded when we were a bunch of very young men” and that the songs had evolved in the passing years to “mean something quite different to us now”, prompting them to embark on this journey.
He continued: “Some have grown with us. Some we have outgrown, but we have not lost sight of what propelled us to write those songs in the first place. The essence of those songs is still in us. But how to reconnect with that essence when we have moved on and grown so much?”
He added they were giving them “a 21st century reimagining”, before saying “once we surrendered our reverence for the original version, each song started to open up to a new authentic voice of this time, of the people we are now, and particularly the singer that Bono has become”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Smokey Robinson is releasing his first album of new material in 14 years.
The 82-year-old Motown legend has confirmed his record ‘Gasms’ will land on April 28 marking his first record of original compositions since his 2009 release ‘Time Flies When You’re Having Fun’ – and he announced the news along with the record’s first single ‘If We Don’t Have Each Other’.
In a statement, Smokey explained: “I chose this song as the first single of my new album because it’s different musically and has a slide dance feeling to it … which is different from what I’ve ever done before. It also has a current rhythm of today that I love, and I hope everyone else does too.”
The album’s tracklist features titles including ‘I Wanna Know Your Body’, ‘Roll Around’ and ‘I Fit In There’.
HIs previous releases over the last decade have included a Christmas album and ‘Smokey and Friends’ – a record featuring collaborations with artists including Take That star Gary Barlow, Sir Elton John and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
News of his upcoming album comes just days before Smokey is due to be honoured as the 2023 MusiCares Persons of the Year alongside Motown Records founder Berry Gordy.
The pair will receive the joint honour from the charitable arm of the Recording Academy – the body behind the Grammy Awards – at a special gala and tribute concert at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Friday February 3 – two days before the glitzy prizegiving.
Smokey said of the honour: “I have supported MusiCares for many years and know what great work they do for our creative community who need our help. Recently, when no one could tour, they were a lifeline to those in the touring industry for monetary help and mental health services. I am honoured that they have chosen me and my best friend and Motown founder Berry Gordy to share this beautiful honour and celebrate with you all together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shania Twain was “inspired” by her COVID-19 battle to write her new song, ‘Inhale/Exhale Air’.
The ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ hitmaker labelled her new track an ode of “gratitude and appreciation” for making it through the virus alive after needing to be rushed to hospital via air ambulance.
The 58-year-old singer told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s a song of gratitude and appreciation. I was inspired that I still had air in my lungs.”
“It was progressively getting worse. My vital signs were getting worse… and in the end I had to be air evacuated.
Shania compared her experience to “science fiction” as she reflected on how out of this world it all felt.
She said: “It was like science fiction. I felt like I was going to another planet or something. It all kind of happened in slow motion.
The ‘You’re Still The One’ hitmaker praised her husband Frederic Thiebaud and his work getting “a bed lined up” despite his fear for her.
Shania said: “My husband was freaking out, to be honest. He was really panicking because he was the one having to pull it all together.
“He spent hours and hours every day on the phone, trying to get an air evacuation coordinated, trying to get a bed lined up, as there were none, checking my vital signs. It was just a real nightmare for him.
“It took several days to start building up any antibodies at all, so it was a very dangerous time and very scary. I made it through and I’m just so grateful.”
The Grammy Award winner gushed about being in a “celebratory state of mind” now amid other health issues she has dealt with like Lyme disease.
“It’s great to be singing again, on a tour with my new voice after my surgery… I’m in a very celebratory state of mind.
She added that her vocal performance has “more rasp” than it did pre-op.

OHMYGOSSIP — Fleur East’s new music is “more mature”.
The 35-year-old star – who was runner-up on ‘The X Factor’ in 2014 – last released music in 2020 and after her recent stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, she is back with the new single ‘Count The Ways’.
The ‘Sax’ hitmaker – who has released the upbeat tune on her own label Platinum East – is thrilled to be back to her “first love” and has got her “stride” back following the devastating loss of her father, Malcolm, who passed away in 2020, and the impacts of the COVID-19 on his music plans
She said: “I’m really excited to be releasing new music. The last body of work I released was my album ‘Fearless’, which was my first independent album since leaving Syco in 2020. It was shortly after my dad passed away and just at the time that the pandemic came into our lives, and everyone went into lockdown, so I had to cancel my tour, I had to cancel all my promo, I had to cancel everything. It was such a shame that it was released at that time, and it was really difficult. Since then, and since losing my dad, I’m just finding my stride again and getting back into music.”
Being on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show reignited her love of performing and she can’t wait to get back on the stage.
Fleur said: “I started writing this year and I just felt so inspired and everything just came back to me. It’s been a while since I’ve done my own live show and I absolutely love performing. After being on Strictly every weekend, the buzz of performing came back. I absolutely love it, and I can’t wait for people to hear this new music. It’s coming from a different place, it’s a lot more mature – it comes from a real place.”
Speaking of her new song, she said: “‘Count The Ways’ is all about putting a spin on listing the things that you love about a person and it flips that narrative – it’s listing the ways that somebody lost you. It’s quite a playful take on ending a relationship and talking to that person that hurt you from a position where you don’t have any pain left, from a position of power. It’s quite tongue in cheek, but also from real, real emotion. I love it because it’s a lot more mature and is very musical. Matt Prime produced the song and I wrote it. It all came together, very quickly. In a matter of a couple of hours, really. I just felt so inspired as soon as I heard him playing instruments and I was just like yeah, this is it.”
She added: “Music is my first love, and it always has been. Although I do presenting, fitness, and lots of other different things, music is my number one love and I always feel quite vulnerable sharing my music with everybody because it’s really a deep part of me. So I always feel a bit exposed when I share music with everybody, but I just feel like I’m in a place now where I’m ready for everyone to hear it.”
Fleur plays a headline London show at Union Chapel March 16.
