Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley: This album feels like the perfect way to go out

OHMYGOSSIP — Deryck Whibley wants Sum 41 to go out on a high with their final album ‘Heaven :x: Hell’.
The upcoming record is comprised of two halves – ‘Heaven’ is pop punk in the vein of their 2001 classic ‘All Killer, No Filler’ and 2002’s ‘Does This Look Infected?’, and ‘Hell’ is the heavier style of their more recent releases – and frontman Deryck, 43, says it’s the “perfect way to go out”.
He told NME as the band shared the single ‘Rise Up’: “I feel really good about this album, which is why I felt it should be the last one. We didn’t know we’d be splitting up when we were making it, but I’ve been making records and touring with this band since I was 15.
“I’ve had this feeling for a long time now that I want to do something different and it just feels like the right time. This album feels like the perfect way to go out.”
The ‘In Too Deep’ hitmaker is keen to explore something else, though he’s not sure what just yet, and doesn’t want to carry on just for the sake of it.
He added: “Over the past few years, the touring has constantly been getting bigger and the band is at our best. My fear is that if I start to lose the excitement, we’ll just fade away. I care too much about the fans and what we’ve built as a band to let that happen, just because it’s a good paycheque.”
Asked what his next movie will be, he replied: “I can’t figure that out until everything else is out of the way.”
The rocker was rushed to the emergency room on September 15 after his health took a turn for the worse – nine years after he nearly died when he was hospitalised after his drinking spiralled out of control.
However, he insists he’s never felt “stronger”.
He said: “I’m probably the strongest I’ve ever been in my life right now.
“Yes, you probably have to modify how you perform as you get older but I feel like you can get better as you age. I don’t think Mick Jagger is the anomaly.”
‘Heaven :x: Hell’ is released on March 29.

Blossoms team up with CMAT and Jungle on new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Blossoms have worked with CMAT and Jungle on their upcoming album.
The ‘Charlemagne’ group are working on their first independent album on their own record label, ODD SK Records, a follow-up to 2022’s ‘Ribbon Around the Bomb’, after leaving Virgin EMI.
And this time, they were more open to working with other people, including the Irish singer-songwriter and the electronic music group – comprising producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland.
Frontman Tom Ogden told BBC 6 Music’s Indie Forever’s Nathan Shepherd: “This album […] it’s the most we’ve kind of spread our wings in terms of collaboration.
“I’ve wrote the songs brought it to the lads and then we’ve gone in with [James] Skelly in Liverpool. Whereas this time we’ve worked with kind of different people. We haven’t really talked about who we’ve worked with yet as such […] We worked with CMAT a little bit, who we are big fans of and we worked with Jungle who we’re big fans of. […] Like CMAT, I heard her stuff this time last year when we were on tour in a record shop in Brighton, and I was like ‘Who is this?’ So yeah and then I just heard her music and was a big fan so we then reached out and kind of did some stuff over the summer but again we don’t know what is going to be on the record.”
Tom recently opened up about their latest single ‘To Do List (After The Breakup)’ and pointed to the significance of Manchester music.
He explained: “We initially kicked the song around as a band in a way that we did when we first started – all in the round together at our rehearsal room.
“It’s something we’ve not really been able to do for a long time but it felt so natural and euphoric for the five of us!
“Some of the song’s DNA lies within the local Manchester bands we grew up listening to from our parents’ record collections, bands like New Order and James.”
It was inspired by a poem of the same name by Rupi Kaur, which “captured the feeling of heartbreak so accurately”.
He added: “We thought it was a great concept for a song and reached out to Rupi about using some of her words and she kindly gave us permission to use them.”

Slipknot announce 25th anniversary tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot are marking their 25th anniversary with a Europe and UK tour next December.
Corey Taylor and co have unveiled their ‘here comes the pain’ 2024 dates, which will kick off on December 5 at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, and wrap on December 20 at London’s The O2.
Percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan said: “It has been 25 years since we first played on the continent, and we’ve been back ever since.
“The memories I have from all those times are life-changing, and we’re ready to make more.
“I’m so excited to bring our 25 year anniversary tour to Europe and the UK. Be prepared for an energy you’ve never experienced before. It’s happening.”
Support comes from fellow metallers Bleed From Within.
Tickets go on sale Friday, December 15, at 10am.
Meanwhile, Corey recently dismissed the idea Slipknot have settled on their new drummer.
The ‘Psychosocial’ rockers shocked fans earlier this month by announcing the “creative decision” that longtime drummer Jay Weinberg was no longer part of the band after nine years behind the kit.
Former Venom Inc. drummer Jeramie Kling has been fueling speculation he could be the replacement, sharing a graphic of the heavy metal icon’s logo.
He captioned the picture: “Drumming is simply a matter of timing. Bring it to you. Invite the chaos.”
And just last week, he referenced the group’s ‘Heretic Anthem’ with a picture of a new snare drum and the hashtag “#im666”.
However, frontman Corey has shut down the rumours and insisted the musician isn’t even on the band’s radar.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) last month, he wrote: “To everyone wondering about our new drummer… It’s not him.
“Stop letting him troll you. He’s not even on the list. #hesnot666 (sic)”
The remaining members of Slipknot previously confirmed Jay’s departure in a statement thanking him “for his dedication and passion over the past ten years”.
The sticksman later admitted he had no idea he was going to be axed from the line-up.
In a post on Instagram, he wrote: “I was heartbroken and blindsided to receive the phone call that I did on the morning of November 5th; the news of which, most of you learned shortly after.
“However, I’ve been overwhelmed by – and truly grateful for – the outpouring of love and support I’ve received from this incredible community I consider to be my creative and artistic home.”

Slipknot’s December 2024 UK and Europe tour dates:

5 Amsterdam, Netherlands – Ziggo Dome
6 Dortmund, Germany – Westfalenhalle
8 Stuttgart, Germany – Schleyerhalle
9 Leipzig, Germany – Quarterback Immobilien Arena
11 Zurich, Switzerland – Hallenstadion
12 Paris, France – Accorhotel Arena

Shane MacGowan’s widow reveals he despised funerals

OHMYGOSSIP — Shane MacGowan despised funerals, his widow has revealed.
The Pogues frontman – who died on 30 November aged 35 from pneumonia after months of battling illnesses – was laid to rest of Friday (08.12.23) at a funeral in Nenagh, Tipperary, and hours before the service his partner Victoria Mary Clarke revealed his hatred of final farewells.
She said on Instagram: “Tomorrow is Shane’s funeral which is hard to believe and probably I won’t believe it for a while.
“Shane hated funerals and he refused to go to them with a few rare exceptions. “So it’s incredible to think that so many people want to come to his and that so many beautiful people are pouring their hearts and souls into making it magnificent and magical and memorable for him and for us who are left behind. “I am feeling my heart bursting open in all directions with the amount of love that is being showered on us and most especially because everyone has their own problems and challenges and everyone has their own loved ones who they need to look after. I feel that Shane is with me all the time and that he is feeling intense appreciation and gratitude and that he is still sending love to everyone and maybe in a more powerful way from where he is now. I couldn’t have possibly asked for a more precious and enduring love affair as a human and I got so much from my relationship with Shane that it would be greedy to want more!”
Referring to Shane’s battles with drink and drugs, Victoria – who married Shane in 2018 – added: “I would love to say to anyone who is in a relationship with someone who has problems with addiction or anxiety or depression to please get healing and help for yourself, and to take care of yourself and you will find that it gives you the strength to keep going and to be able to enjoy your love.
“And to anyone who is in fear of losing someone just know that millions of angels are watching you and supporting you.
“And if you don’t want to come to the funeral Shane would definitely understand, he wouldn’t want to go either!
“But if you want to remember him, the next time you see a homeless person stop and give them your time and your compassion and your respect and treat them like a brother or a sister.”

Rebecca Ferguson dumped major music labels to see how much she was really earning!

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Ferguson ditched major music labels so she could see “exactly” what she was earning.
The former X Factor star, 40, has spoken about how she has had a turbulent relationship with the music business, but says she now feels able to express herself as an independent artist.
Rebecca told the Daily Star Sunday: “I really wanted to know exactly what I was earning, rather than just get a paycheque and not know how much has gone to other people.
“I wanted to have control over everything because I’ve never really had control over anything.
“But I am 37 now and have been in this industry for 13 years, so it feels like the right time.”
Rebecca’s latest album ‘Heaven Part II’ comes a few years after she threatened to retire from music.
She said about deciding not to quit: “In hindsight, I think I just needed to free myself from everything that I had been through.
“I have realised that you can have a good relationship with music and the music industry. You just need to surround yourself with good people, and being independent and in control I feel much more positive about my career.
“I was tainted by the industry – this album is about me saying who I am as an artist.”
Rebecca added about the ‘Found my Voice’ track on her new album: “It’s about speaking out about the industry but it is also about finding my voice as a woman.
“I have learned it’s OK to have an opinion and it’s OK if people don’t agree with it.”

Ariana Grande signs with Demi Lovato’s manager as she works on new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has signed with Demi Lovato’s manager Brandon Creed.
After the pair quit Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, they are now under Creed’s recently launched Good World Management.
A source told Billboard: “[Ariana] likes that [Brandon] understands her on a different level and between acting and music, she has a lot coming up and is excited to have found a new support system to help her execute her plans.
Another insider added: “She wants the focus to be her art and he puts her artistry and vision before anything else.
“He is the perfect person to help her execute her visions for this next chapter of her life and career.”
The ‘7 Rings’ hitmaker has been back in the recording studio with Max Martin working on the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Positions’, and has also been busy filming the two-part ‘Wicked’ movie adaptation.
The SAG-AFTRA strike offered her time to fit in some studio time.
An insider told The New York Post’s Page Six column: “Her priority has been Glinda [her character in ‘Wicked’] for the past two years, and still is, as they haven’t finished the film.”
Ariana was recently asked if she had a title for her next studio outing, to which she replied: “Let me make it first!”
Earlier this year, the 30-year-old singer responded after a batch of unheard material leaked online and admitted it’s “impossible to keep things” from her passionate fanbase.
In a R.E.M. Beauty video, she said: “You guys have heard every bad song and b******* demo that I’ve ever made. Hilarious.
“It’s impossible to keep things from you. You gotta take some swings and misses.”
Later in the video, the ‘Dangerous Woman’ hitmaker was asked if there were “any secrets soon to come”.
She replied: “Hmm… no secrets. I’m all out of secrets. You’ve stolen all my unreleased music, it’s horrible [laughs].”
Back in February, Ariana made her return to music on The Weeknd’s ‘Die For You’ remix as she teamed up with her friend and collaborator on the new version of his 2016 track from the album ‘Starboy’.

Josh Homme reveals Sir Elton John’s cheeky Glastonbury insult

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John told Josh Homme to “enjoy playing to all of three people” when they went up against each other at Glastonbury Festival.
Josh’s band Queen of The Stone Age headlined the Other Stage in the Sunday night slot at the iconic music event this summer while Elton performed on the main Pyramid Stage at the same time – and the rocker has revealed his pal made a cheeky joke before they went on.
Speaking to NME, Josh explained: “He gave me a gentle kiss on the cheek and said, ‘Enjoy playing to all three people’, which I thought was amazing. I laughed, but then when we walked out I thought, ‘Oh my God’.”
Josh revealed the ‘Rocket Man’ star was right and the band ended up playing to a much smaller audience than expected because so many festival-goers had gone to watch Elton’s set.
He added: “There was a lot of people, but normally there would probably be a lot more. It was an interesting thing to walk out to at first. That was some accurate [stuff] right there, that was a good prediction.”
The band were previously pitched against another huge headliner – Beyonce – when they played at the festival back in 2011 and Josh admitted both were difficult sets.
He explained: “Glastonbury is always an interesting experience, and especially the last few times for us because they always ask us to do the hard job. Other than driving the sewage truck, playing against Elton [this year] is one of the tougher jobs, as is playing against Beyonce. They were both tough gigs that were really fun, but tough because you don’t know when you walk out if anyone is going to be there.”
Queen of The Stone Age released their eighth album ‘In Times New Roman … ‘ in June six years after their previous record 2017’s ‘Villains’ and the frontman went on to insist he hopes there won’t be such a long gap between their next offering.
He added: “I think we should be making something [new]. The mantra of the last five years was, ‘It won’t be long now!’ That needs to pertain to making things too. I certainly think we should make more, faster-er, better-er.”

Take That to hit studio with Jax Jones

OHMYGOSSIP — Take That are said to be hitting the studio with Jax Jones.
The 36-year-old DJ and songwriter – who has collaborated with the likes of Charli XCX, Raye, Demi Lovato and Duke Dumont – recently made friends with frontman Gary Barlow and the pair have agreed to work together.
The ‘Out Out’ hitmaker also hinted he has done something with Kylie Minogue, as well as Calum Scott, with whom he released ‘Whistle’.
Calum also teamed up with Take That – also comprising Mark Owen and Howard Donald – on their dance version of ‘Greatest Day’, with DJ Robin Schulz, earlier this year.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard at The O2 in London at the weekend, Jax spilled: “I wanna collaborate with as many names as I can next year, whether it’s Take That, Kylie Minogue, more stuff with Calum, watch this space, it’s gonna be sick.
“I saw Gary Barlow the other day, man, he gave me a bottle of his red wine and we’re getting in the studio.”
Take That returned with their new album ‘This Life’ last month, and Gary dropped a huge hint that it could be followed by a 10th record.
Speaking at a live recording of their podcast ‘Take That: This Life’ at London’s Leicester Square, he teased: “We were sat together the other day and they were going through all the numbers (for the This Life album) at the label.
“And everything was looking great and they said to us, ‘How does it feel?’
“And we turn to one and other and went, ‘Well, it means we can do it again. It means we can make another record in a few weeks.'”
Howard admitted there is no reason why the ‘Never Forget’ hitmakers can’t keep making new music.
According to The Sun newspaper, he said: “People always ask, ‘Are you going to be like the Rolling Stones and keep going until that sort of age?’
“And I think, you know what, maybe in five or ten years there won’t be as many dance moves but I think if we carry on making great music I think we can carry on.”

Heidi Range ‘so excited’ for Girls Aloud reunion

OHMYGOSSIP — Heidi Range is “so excited” about the Girls Aloud reunion.
The ‘Biology’ hitmakers – comprising Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts – recently announced a huge 2024 tour to belatedly celebrate their 20th anniversary in the wake of bandmate Sarah Harding’s death, and the former Sugababes singer is looking forward to seeing them back in action.
Heidi – who has Aurelia, five, and two-year-old Athena with husband Alex Partakis – told Closer magazine: “I’m so excited about the reunion.
“I’m a massive Girls Aloud fan and I’m friends with the girls.
“I’d like to take my big girl to see them, actually.”
Heidi joined Sugababes following the departure of Siobhan Donaghy in 2001 and initially performed alongside Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan before they left and were replaced by Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen respectively.
The original trio reunited as Mutya Keisha Siobhan in 2012 before reclaiming the Sugababes name in 2019, and Heidi won’t rule out performing with them again in the future.
She said: “They’ve all been reunited for years, but never say never!
“I’m just busy being a mum at the moment.”
Heidi previously admitted she was “happy” to see the original Sugababes back in action.
Speaking on the ‘Spinning Plates’ podcast, she said: “I’m happy for them.
“It’s nice that the songs are still out there.
“I am proud that I was part of the success of the songs.
“I wish them well.”
But the former Atomic Kitten singer also admitted she’d like to get back on stage to show her daughters what she can do.
She said: “I feel like I’m just getting to a new stage where I’m ready to remember who I was.
“When I go to shows, you kind of want to grab the mic and have a go.
“There’s a part of me that would love to show her what mummy can do.
“I’d like to do stuff where they can see me do things now that would inspire them and make them proud as they get older.”

Beyonce thanks her ‘hive’ for their support

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce has been overwhelmed by the recent “outpouring of love” from her fans.
The 42-year-old singer has taken to social media to thank fans for their support of her new concert film, ‘Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce’.
She wrote on Instagram: “I am so deeply thankful to AMC and every team member who worked so hard on this film. I just can’t thank all of you enough for your support. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done because of the short turn around time. I practically slept in the edit, color, and mix sessions. The race against time continued in order to get this film out so quickly. But it was so worth all the grind. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from my Hive. And WOW! I am so touched and encouraged by the incredible reviews!!! (sic)”
Beyonce is also thrilled that she’s managed to reach new fans.
The award-winning star wrote on the photo-sharing platform: “I also love seeing the positive take aways from people who were not my fans or didn’t yet know my story. The people who had no interest in seeing my shows who have now gained a deeper understanding and respect for all it takes to be a RENAISSANCE woman. (sic)”
Beyonce actually wrote, directed, and produced the concert film herself.
A description of the project previously explained: “‘Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce’ accentuates the journey of Renaissance World Tour from its inception, to the opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri.
“It is about Beyonce’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft.”

Tate McRae: I grew bored of making depressing music

OHMYGOSSIP — Tate McRae grew “bored” of writing sad songs.
The 20-year-old star admits that some of her early music was actually quite “depressing” – but Tate’s approach has changed over recent times.
The singer – who recently released ‘Think Later’, her debut album – told Variety: “I was like, god, writing sad songs and being depressing, no one has ever seen a different side of me.
“All they’ve seen is victim, depressed Tate. Sometimes you grow up and things change and I got bored of it. So I’m like, I want to switch this up, but it feels perfect because I think it’s fun to take a jab at yourself sometimes and your older self.”
Tate has only just released her debut album and she’s insisted that success hasn’t come easily to her.
The ‘Greedy’ hitmaker – who is set to embark on a tour in 2024 – shared: “I’m like, I’ve been grinding since 13 years old! I’m probably the furthest thing from an industry plant for how long I’ve been doing this.”
Tate also revealed that she’s determined to be in full control of her own career.
The pop star said: “If you’re not hands-on, someone else is going to have to be hands-on.
“I don’t want to not have a say in any part of this. I want to be on every phone call, I want to be on every creative meeting, I want to be the one giving all the ideas for these music videos. And also because I have fun doing it. I just genuinely love it.”

The Killers scrapped album because it wasn’t ‘authentic’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Killers scrapped their new album because it didn’t feel “authentic”.
The ‘Human’ hitmakers revealed over the summer they had ditched a planned new record and frontman Brandon Flowers has now explained they felt like they were “forcing something” in the studio with the electronic style of the sound.
He told The Sun newspaper: “It just didn’t feel authentic. It felt like we were forcing something.
“We love synth music, it’s a part of our DNA and there’s been great contributions from us in that genre.
“And man, we love New Order and Depeche Mode, so it’s not a slight. It just doesn’t feel right for us at this moment.”
Over the years, the group have worked with a string of artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Lindsey Buckingham and k.d. lang, but won’t say who else is on their wish list.
Ronnie Vannucci Jr. said: “There’s a lot. I feel weird about punching names out there though as they happen organically.
“With writing, we’re at the stage now where the inspiration hits and there’s an artistic response to it.
“We deliver that and it feels good. Then 20, 30, even 40 years later, we can look back almost like our songs are a diary.”
The pair are “proud” of how they have managed to stay together even with bandmates Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer going on hiatus in 2016 and 2017, but returning from time to time.
Brandon said: “It was kind of tough to navigate. But that’s another thing I’m proud of. We’ve come up with this arrangement that works for everybody.
“A lot of bands just dissolve or there’s public fighting…
“We had a fairly mature response to Dave and Mark. And we’ve come up with a way that works.
“You’re going to see them come in and out. And you might see them at a gig and you might not.
“What’s important is that the show keeps going on. Which has happened for two decades. So here’s to another 20 years.”
After headlining Glastonbury in 2019, Brandon hopes the group will one day return to the festival for a sixth time and top the bill again.
He said: “Jo Whiley insinuated that the next time we will be at Glastonbury will be on the Legends Stage. And I thought, ‘Whoa! I think we’ve got another headline spot in us before that’. We are more than songs and albums, we are about live performances. That 2019 Glastonbury was so special. The encore was so cool.
“We are from Las Vegas so we grew up watching big shows. So early on we were granted permission to put on that type of show — and we took advantage of it.
“I am really proud of us for doing that from such a young age. It’s become part of our identity.”

Damon Albarn is hacked off with The Rolling Stones and their new album Hackney Diamonds

OHMYGOSSIP — Damon Albarn has put The Rolling Stones on blast slamming their album ‘Hackney Diamonds’, accusing them of objectifying Sydney Sweeney and getting “worse” at staying themselves.
The Blur frontman has taken a swipe at the legendary rock ‘n’ roll group – comprising Sir Mick Jagger, 80, Keith Richards, 79, and Ronnie Wood, 76 – for naming their latest album after the district in East London and holding their album launch at the Hackney Empire when they have “never contributed” to the area.
He began in an interview with the French publication Les Inrockuptibles: “My family lives in Hackney and the way they showed up at the Hackney Empire venue really [hacked] me off. They’ve never did a thing in Hackney, they’ve never played there, never contributed to anything. They just showed up. It’s all nonsense.”
The Gorillaz star also took issue with the video for the lead single ‘Angry’ and the 26-year-old ‘Euphoria’ actress posing on top of a moving classic car with various close-ups of her cleavage in a tight-fitted leather corset top.
He continued: “I listened to their new song and watched this horrible music video showing them at different stages of their lives on billboards. And this young woman objectified. What the hell is this? There’s something completely disconnected.”
The 55-year-old star – who is known for experimenting with various styles of music – went on to criticise the veteran rockers for “devoting” their lives to releasing the same music and getting “worse” at it.
In one last blow, he said: “I did all sorts of things, whereas they’ve never been anything other than the Rolling Stones. I love the idea of devoting your life to one thing, in search of the sublime. But the truth is, they’ve become worse.
“Worse at persisting to stay themselves. That’s something I don’t understand. Making exactly the same music but not that good. There must be no joy in doing something like this.”

Billy Joel announces one-off 2024 Cardiff concert

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Joel has announced his first-ever concert in Cardiff.
The ‘Piano Man’ is only playing one European concert in 2024, on August 9 at the Principality Stadium, and it marks his first time in the Welsh capital.
The ‘Uptown Girl’ hitmaker will be joined by special guest Chris Isaak at the one-off gig.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 15 December at 10am and presale registration is now open via aegpresents.co.uk.
The Cardiff show news comes after Billy announced his final Madison Square Garden residency show.
The music legend is set to wrap the record-breaking stint, which first began back in January 2014, on July 25, 2024.
It will mark his 104th show as part of the concert series and his 150th performance at the stadium, where he first played in 1978.
The 74-year-old musician has performed at the iconic New York venue almost monthly since the start of the residency.
Billy recently told reporters he was “kind of flabbergasted” that his residency has “lasted as long” as it has.
He said: “My team tells me that we could continue to sell tickets, but 10 years, 150 shows… all right already!”
The only major disruption came during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was forced to take an 18-month break from the stage.
Madison Square Garden hailed Billy’s “extraordinary talent” and insisted he will “always” have a home at the venue.
The ‘We Didn’t Start The Fire’ hitmaker previously expressed his amazement that people continue to come and see him perform, despite the fact he hasn’t released an album of original material for more than 30 years.
He told Rolling Stone magazine in 2019: “I’ve gone onstage and said, ‘I don’t have anything new for you, so we’re just going to play the old s***’. And the audience goes, ‘Yeah!’
“I’ll be sitting in the stadium looking out at 30,000, 40,000, 50,000 people, thinking, ‘What the hell are they all doing here? Why now?’ I guess, in a way, I’m an anachronism. There aren’t that many of me left. There’s a rarity to it, which gives it value.”

Doja Cat slams claims she is a copycat

OHMYGOSSIP — Doja Cat has hit out at claims she is “flat-out unoriginal”.
The ‘Paint The Town Red’ hitmaker – who samples Dionne Warwick’s ‘Walk On By’ on the chart-topping hit – insists it’s “impossible” for her to not have a unique style even if she is inspired by “the greats”.
Speaking to Ice Spice for Instagram’s new ‘Close Friends Only’ podcast, Doja said: “One is that I’m unoriginal.
“There’s a lot of people who think I, like, copy people. I pull a lot from — copy the greats… Then there’s some people who are like, ‘She’s flat-out unoriginal.’ That’s impossible!”
