Technology can help to solve the biggest issues in fashion, says Karlie Kloss

OHMYGOSSIP — Karlie Kloss believes technology can help to “solve some of the biggest issues in fashion”.
The 30-year-old model decided to take a coding class seven years into her career, and that experience has transformed how Karlie looks at the future of the fashion industry.
She explained: “That coding class changed the trajectory of my career and sparked a life-long passion for how technology can be used creatively to solve real problems, transform lives, and address our world’s biggest challenges.”
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel has already helped to educate more than 12,000 people across the US with her Kode With Klossy camps, which teach coding skills to girls aged between 13 and 18.
And Karlie believes that technology has a huge role to play in the fashion industry moving forwards.
The catwalk star told CNN: “While modelling is still my ‘day job’, spending most of the past decade working in both fashion and tech has helped me conceptualise how digital technology can help solve some of the biggest issues in fashion.
“For example, tech is already opening up so many opportunities to expand creative expression and design. It can also help address some of the industry’s biggest challenges, from its role in the climate crisis to the lack of size inclusivity.
“I believe that designers in the future won’t just be sewing, they’ll be coding.”
Karlie noted that there’s “limitless” potential in the crossover between fashion and technology.
She said: “Over the past few years, fashion has been booming with technological innovations. Digital designers, for example, are using 3D modelling and AR to outfit avatars and humans alike.
“The potential to change how fashion is made, sustained, and accessed is limitless.”

Kourtney hopes that her partnership with BooHoo will help to “open up” conversations about the future of the fashion industry.
The brunette beauty explained: “There’s still lots of work to be done and improvements to be made, but I truly believe that any progress we can make when it comes to sustainability is a step in the right direction and will open up the conversation for future advancements.”

Jennifer Lawrence: I regret my pixie cut

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lawrence regrets her pixie cut look.
The Oscar-winning actress admits she now regrets her distinctive hairstyle, and she’d advise other people to think carefully before opting for a pixie cut.
Asked if she has any advice for people wanting to do a pixie cut, Jennifer replied: “I mean, first off, that’s mean.
“Obviously my advice is don’t do it. Think everything through and … if I could have the internet scrubbed of those photos … not scrubbed, add extensions to them. If anybody knows how to do that, that’d be great!”
Jennifer, 32, also revealed the one thing she tries to avoid before walking a red carpet.
Asked what she tries to avoid in a red carpet look, Jennifer told Vogue’s ’73 Questions’: “Anything that exposes the top of my arms.”
Jennifer often wears Dior to red carpet events, such as film premieres and award ceremonies.
And the Hollywood star – who is a celebrity ambassador for the brand – loves working with the French fashion house.
She previously said: “I could not believe it when they signed me [to be in their campaigns]. They fly me to Paris and get me hotel rooms, and I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me? You don’t have to be so nice!’
“I couldn’t renew my contract quickly enough.”
Jennifer has also discussed the issue of beauty standards within the film industry.
The actress explained: “Everybody says, ‘We love that there is somebody with a normal body!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like I have a normal body.’ I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person.
“I think we’ve gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s curvy.’ Which is crazy. The bare minimum, just for me, would be to up the ante.”

My style resonates with the public, says Kim Kardashian

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian thinks her style “resonates” with the public.
The 41-year-old star believes a lot of women are able to “connect” to her sense of style because it feels “attainable”.

“And then for me, I can find things that could be so simple, and that a lot of people, a lot of girls, can connect to – and that is very sellable. The things I wear seem realistic. There’s an easy way to find a similar item or a solution to wear something similar, and I think that may be what resonates. It feels attainable.”
Kim has once again dyed her hair blonde, and the TV star subscribes to the idea that “blondes have more fun”.
Asked if she’s keeping her blonde locks, Kim told Interview magazine: “I am keeping it for a little bit.
“I feel like in the fall I’ll go dark, just because I don’t want to damage my hair. But, I do think blondes have more fun. I just feel different.”
Kim has enjoyed huge success with various business ventures over the years.
But the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star thinks she would’ve still become a businesswoman even if she wasn’t famous.
Asked what her life would be like if she wasn’t famous, Kim said: “I would be a mom. I’d still want to work, though. I’d probably have a big vintage resale business or something.”

The fashion house are teaming up with the ‘Nightmare Alley’ actor to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their signature Tambour watch, and the 47-year-old star will make his debut in a video directed by Damien Chazelle to promote the collector’s edition Tambour Twenty wristwatch.

Director of marketing and product development for watches Jean Arnault told WWD: “The choice of Bradley Cooper is a match made in heaven.
“It was the perfect way to mark this 20th anniversary, which is an extremely important moment for us, by showing the house is very serious in the field of watchmaking and wants to make a strong commitment to the category.
“He’s an exceptionally talented and versatile actor, and in that sense, you can draw a parallel with the Tambour watch, which has also revealed a variety of facets since its launch in 2002, both traditional but also extremely contemporary.”
‘La La Land’ filmmaker Damien has worked on a storyline about the passage from boyhood to manhood, with images of the ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ actor walking around New York contrasted against images of a young boy playing in nature.
Jean said: “We always wanted a campaign that wasn’t just Bradley Cooper’s face set against the New York skyline. We wanted something deeper than that.
“The reason it works is thanks to the genuine connection between Bradley and Damien, and all the talent that flows from that.”
The Tambour Twenty will be issued in a limited edition of just 200.
The ad campaign will launch on Louis Vuitton’s website and social media channels on Thursday (07.09.22) while print adverts will appear from 14 September.

The ‘Good Morning America’ co-anchor has previously launched a successful clothing line so saw the skin care range as the right next step for his growing empire.
He said: “Clothes are about confidence. We’ve done that. Skin is about confidence, too. So it was the next evolutionary step.

Michael partnered wuth biotechnology company Evolved by Nature to incorporate “premium ingredients” such as Activated Silk technology, which uses silk proteins to improve the skin’s outer barrier.
He said: “It was important to differentiate ourselves from other products — ours has some serious benefits.

It’s kind of like in sports — I didn’t do or take anything to aid my performance or recovery because I want to live a long life without doing something that’s going to catch up to me later. So that’s what our products are about — making your skin healthy first and foremost, and giving you a great quality second to that.”

Kim Kardashian releasing new bra line

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian is releasing “the most comfortable bras you will ever wear”.
The 41-year-old beauty’s SKIMS brand are releasing a new underwear range which prioritises weightless comfort and shape and uses soft materials and innovative technology to create supportive pieces which feel “like you’re wearing nothing”.
Kim said in a teaser clip: “Guys, these are the most comfortable bras you will ever wear.
“I’ve always found bras to be so uncomfortable and constricting. My bra was the first thing I would take off when I got home.
“This is why we introduced all the little bralettes because they didn’t have underwire and they were just so comfortable and I could wear them from day to night.”
SKIMS began developing underwired bras in 2019 and dedicated a year to fit trials and wear testing to ensure they had come up with something for everyone.
The ‘Kardashians’ star added: “There really is a bra style here that fits every single need, shape, want that you can possibly imagine. I just really can’t wait for you to experience these bras.”

“It’s like, ‘Hey, will you do this work thing, it’ll just be two seconds.’ And I’m like, ‘It’s not that easy. I’m coming from Calabasas, which is an hour each way.’ It takes about two hours in glam, so if someone asks me to do a five-minute cameo, it’s never just that.
“But, all my friends and family, no one ever really asks me for anything or needs anything. We’re all just cool.”
Kim has enjoyed huge success during her career, and she has massive following on social media, too.
However, the former ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star still struggles with her self-confidence.

“Sometimes you can go back and forth for ages when designing something, umming and ahhing, but once the decision is made and you see the pieces all together, it’s so worth it. Nothing incredible comes together without hard work, so when it does – wow! It makes you feel amazing.”

Just do whatever you can that complements you.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Obsesio’ hitmaker – who has been lead singer of bachata group Aventura since 1994 – added that he believes he is in “better shape” in his early 40s than he ever was in the early days of his pop career because of how much he has “changed” his lifestyle in the last decade.
He told Allure: “Honestly, I think I’m in better shape at 41 than I was in my 20s. That had a lot to do with the running that I added to my routine. Before I would lift a lot of weights, but never really did any type of cardio. I changed that within the last seven or eight years of my life. It’s probably the best thing that I’ve done. I run a lot. You see pictures of me in my early beginnings, and I’m probably the complete opposite of a sex symbol!”

Kate Moss’ daughter Lila mortified by mum’s Vivienne Westwood mini skirt

The 48-year-old supermodel famously walked the catwalk in the barely-there blue and white-striped garment, topless, with a Magnum ice cream in hand, and Lila, 19, a model herself, was mortified that her parent flashed her knickers in the revealing skirt.
Looking back on her life in looks for British Vogue, Kate recalled: “This was one of my favourites.
“This is a Vivienne Westwood show and it was a Magnum ice cream and they just said, ‘Eat that as you go out with no top on.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah I’ll try.’
“That skirt, I’ve got one and Lila, she’s like ‘Mummy! It’s so short!.’
Yeah, you’re supposed to see your knickers.”
Elsewhere, Kate – who has graced the cover of Vogue magazine a total of 43 times over the course of her career – explained that when she made her debut on the front of the legendary fashion bible as a teenager 29 years ago, she believed she had “made it” as a model and still has the cover framed at her home.

Charlize Theron rips up the rule book when it comes to beauty

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlize Theron likes to “take risks” with beauty.
The Hollywood actress insists there shouldn’t be any rules when it comes to makeup and style.
She said: “Beauty is subjective, I don’t think there should be any rules! The best looks happen when you take risks.”
Asked what the best beauty advice she’s received is, she replied: “My hairstylist Adir has taught me never to be afraid to take risks!”
The 47-year-old star’s beauty icon is her mom because she’s “confident” in her “own skin”.
Charlize told ELLE UK: “My mum is my beauty icon. She’s confident and comfortable in her own skin. She’s outspoken but also caring. She takes fantastic care of herself so she feels good!”
When it comes to beauty and perfume, the busy star – who is mom to adopted daughters Jackson, 10, and August, seven, opts for minimalism.
The Dior J’adore ambassador said: “My approach to beauty and fragrance is that simple is best. I’m a mother of two so I can’t always spend a lot of time in front of the mirror every morning – I have to get them to school! And fragrance is the same way, with the J’adore scent, it combines classic fresh floral scents with the lightness of water as its base which creates something classic and nuanced without overdoing it.”
Meanwhile, the Oscar-winning star recently explained that as she gets older she does not worry about wearing a “tonne of powder” on her face and being able to “look natural” on film has changed her approach to her red carpet look.
She said: “I think the older I’ve become the more I’m about not matte-ing your face down and wearing a tonne of powder. I think having actors look natural is something that’s so celebrated in film that I’ve kind of brought that into my [approach to the] red carpet and even editorials that I shoot – not wanting to look like [I have] a matte face. I think a lot of us are so hypersensitive about not wanting to look like sweaty pigs! [But] I don’t think it’s very flattering on women, especially as we get older. So you don’t have to use a powder.”

Hayley Kiyoko’s Lemonade Mouth bob was an accident

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Kiyoko’s ‘Lemonade Mouth’ bob was an accident.
The 31-year-old actress played Stella in the 2011 teen musical drama, and she confessed to her TikTok followers that her wonky hairdo happened after he hairstylist got a little too scissor-happy.
She explained in the clip: “I’ve been holding onto this secret for so long – almost 10 years – and I feel like I have to tell you the truth about Stella’s haircut. It wasn’t supposed to be asymmetrical.
“We were going for a symmetrical look and my hair stylist cut my hair too short on one side and we didn’t have enough time to get extensions to even it out. So, we rocked the asymmetrical look … and we made it Stella’s vibe – and that is how Stella got her haircut and some of you got yours too.”
She laughed: “I honestly don’t know if Stella would’ve had the same effect if her hair was symmetrical, you know what I mean?”
Meanwhile, the movie star previously admitted that she was torn between dressing in a feminine or masculine way but ultimately decided that beauty is within and she now has the confidence to wear whatever she wants.
She said: “I’ve definitely struggled with defining beauty and what that means on the scale of femininity and masculinity. It’s OK to want to dress feminine one day and masculine another day.
“Beauty is within. Beauty is about confidence and embracing who you are. That’s something that took me a long time growing up to see, ‘Oh, it’s about how I feel, and being comfortable in my own skin.'”
And she is more comfortable in her own skin than ever before.
Hayley added: “Self-care and skincare go hand in hand. Taking care of my skin makes me more present to focus on what I’m working on and the people I’m surrounded by. Do everything you can to be comfortable in your own skin.
“We put so much pressure on ourselves to be something. And sometimes we need time. Maybe we’re not as confident as we want to be or are still discovering who we are. We don’t have to decide that now. Alleviate that pressure off of you. I put that pressure on what beauty is and what that looks like, and as soon as I took that pressure off myself I was like, this is me, ‘This is who I am.’ All of a sudden all of those things that I was trying to build for myself just came.”
