Charithra Chandran had ‘monumental moment’ when she got her first Levi’s

OHMYGOSSIP — Charithra Chandran has hailed buying her first pair of jeans a “monumental moment” in her life.
The ‘Bridgerton’ actress picked up her first Levi’s when she was just nine years old, and though she has always been loyal to the brand, her favourite styles and fits continually change.
She said: “They were skinny jeans in a dark blue wash. I had saved up all my money and went to buy them myself. It felt like a monumental moment in my life.
“What’s been really fun is growing up and being able to explore different fits of jeans that Levi’s has to offer. It’s constantly changing: six months ago, I would wear my Ribcage jeans every single day. Currently, I’m on a 501 kick. They’re my faves.”
Charithra has teamed up with the brand as part of their Buy Better, Wear Longer campaign, with a capsule wardrobe currently an essential for her thanks to the constant travelling she does for work.
She said: “Because of work, I’m travelling a lot, so I’m really living out of a suitcase. It’s so important that I have a small number of items to mix and match between and create a variation of looks for different events, be it chilling with friends or going to a party.
“But on a macro scale, it’s important that we really think about the purchases that we make and try to make them as versatile as possible.
“Which is why jeans and a nice top is such a useful combo. It’s literally my favourite thing to wear.”
Among the items worn by Charithra are a preppy oversized Vintage Crewneck Sweater, teamed with 501 90s jeans, and a Wedgie Straight paired with the Roddy Vest or an oversized denim shirt like the Dorsey XL.
Anit Van Eynde, VP Marketing for Levi’s North Europe said: “Jeans have been a staple in every woman’s capsule wardrobe for decades.
“Levi’s has always been front and centre when it comes to timeless style. Jeans have clearly evolved beyond just a piece of clothing; they’ve become an expression of identity, enabling women to feel strong, confident, and most importantly happy in who they are.
“Charithra’s effortless ability to create a look which feels authentically her own is so inspiring for women. Her style is exciting, but always feels natural and comfortable.”
Charithra Chandran’s partnership with Levi’s launches this month, with the full AW22 collection as worn by Charithra available at Levi.com, via the Levi’s App and in-store.

Coca Rocha reveals why she ‘always turned down’ Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

OHMYGOSSIP — Coco Rocha “always turned down” the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The 34-year-old supermodel shared a ‘Coco Rocha Model Camp’ take on the ‘How I’d Model’ challenge, and a fan then asked her to try a strut connected to “a ‘specific’ problematic brand from the mid-2000s”.
Coco obliged, sharing a clip of herself waving and blowing kisses for the camera without initially revealing the name of the brand.
She wrote on the video: “Always turned down this specific show but I think it goes a lil somethin’ like this.”
She added in the caption: “Air kisses and spray tans were never my thing.”
In the comment section, a user suggested Coco might be referring to Victoria’s Secret, and wrote: “The brand was problematic but the angels will always be icons.”
The model replied: “Oh for sure. Half of them were my closest model friends, we grew up together.”
The comments come after the ‘Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons’ documentary series aired in July, shining a light on the brand’s history of misogyny and body shaming under its former owner Leslie Wezner.
In response, Victoria’s Secret previously said in a statement: “The company featured in this docuseries does not reflect today’s Victoria’s Secret and Co.
“When we became a stand-alone company in August 2021, we set out to regain the trust of our customers, associates and partners. “Today, we are proud to be a different company, with a new leadership team and mission to welcome, celebrate, and champion all women.
“This transformation is a journey, and our work continues to become the Victoria’s Secret our customers and associates deserve — where everyone feels seen, respected, and valued.”

Dan Levy believes fashion is an extension of acting

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Schitt’s Creek’ star Dan Levy says fashion is “just like acting”.
The 39-year-old actor – who plays David Rose in the CBS sitcom – has teamed up with British designer Steven Stokey-Daley to create an eyewear collection for his label SS Daley and he loves being able to express himself through clothes and accessories, because it is an extension of playing a character.
In an interview with GQ, Dan – whose father is ‘American Pie’ star Eugene Levy – said: “I grew up in a house where my parents would give me one pair of jeans and a T-shirt to wear to school, but I’d be in the stores picking loads of different things off the racks.
“I didn’t really have access to clothes until I got jobs and could buy for myself. Now to get close to designers I love is a joy.
“Fashion is a variation on a theme and, just like acting, it’s a way someone expresses themselves and I love it.”
SS Daley has already been worn by a host of celebrities, including Harry Styles and Josh O’Connor, and Dan feels proud to have contributed to Steven’s label.
Dan – who regularly impresses with his fashion choices on the red carpet, including the 2021 Met Gala – hopes this eyewear collection will be the beginning of a long-running collaboration between the pair.
He said: “Although he doesn’t need my support as he’s already doing so well, we’re playing a small part in a moment in a designer’s career which is meaningful as he ascends to greatness.
“The collaboration came through Harry Lambert. We got introduced and he knew that I had an eyewear line and following that was six months of sampling, choosing acetate colours, figuring out the shapes with Steven.
“I really hope we continue with the partnership, I’ve long been a fan of Steven’s work and it’s really fun to get involved.”

Legally Blonde made me love pink, Rebel Wilson reveals

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebel Wilson got her love of pink from watching Reese Witherspoon’s iconic film ‘Legally Blonde’.
The 42-year-old actress has watched the 2001 comedy – in which Reese plays ditzy blonde Elle Woods who studies at Harvard Law School – multiple times and her own “Barbiecore” style is inspired by the multiple hue outfits favoured by Elle.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Rebel said: “The Barbiecore thing I have going on… I’ve [just] always loved pink. Reese Witherspoon wears those cute pink outfits.”
Rebel also revealed that her girlfriend Ramona Agruma has been giving her lots of fashion tips and that is helping her develop her own style.
She said: “My girlfriend is so much better at it [fashion] than me, because just in my everyday life, she’s like, ‘Oh, maybe don’t wear that.’
“Hopefully, my fashion sense is growing.”
The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star also relies on celebrity stylist Elizabeth Stewart to create her red carpet looks, and has grown to implicitly trust her advice when it comes to stepping out in front of the cameras where she knows she is “being judged” on her clothes, hair and make-up.
Rebel shared: “Elizabeth has such a good eye and she knows what’ll work well for my figure at whatever size I am. Then we try on a few things, do a few tweaks and then we are ready to go.
“I’m not somebody that judges somebody superficially on how they look, but it’s weird on a red carpet, because you are being judged. Because I’ve never really traded on looks or anything, more on my skills as an actress and writer and producer.”

Charlize Theron had no control over sexy clothes for early film roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlize Theron had no control over her what she wore for her roles when she started out as an actress and would often be told to wear outfits that would make look more “f***able in the movie”.
The Oscar winner had no voice on set when she was at the beginning of her career and could sense that she would often be dressed in a way that would exploit her sexuality and femininity, something that she found to be “belittling”.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, she said: “Having some guy make you have a fitting almost in front of them, stuff like that, it’s really belittling.
“When I started, there was no conversation around it. It was like, ‘This is what you’re wearing.'”
Charlize revealed that there was one project she worked on where the male director – who she did not name – made her do “fitting after fitting after fitting” for it.
She added: “It was just so obvious that it was to do with my sexuality and how f***able they could make me in the movie,. And when I started out, that was just kind of the norm.”
Charlize’s early filmography includes ‘Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest’, ‘2 Days in the Valley’, ‘That Thing You Do!’ and ‘Trial and Error’.
Her breakthrough role came in Taylor Hackford’s 1997 horror ‘The Devil’s Advocate’, in which she starred alongside Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino.
In 2004, Charlize won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Patty Jenkins’ movie ‘Monster’.

The ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has launched her new butterfly-themed collection with Chopard – which is tied to the 25th anniversary of her ‘Butterfly’ album – and she has given some tips on accessorising.
She told PEOPLE magazine: “The more, the better. You can stack the more everyday pieces in this collection.
“Even my daughter [Monroe, 11] is living for that. She cannot wait to get some of the bracelets.
“She wants to be a designer one day, so this was really inspirational for her. I think she really felt like her dreams were attainable.”
Mariah also weighed in on the collection itself, and admitted she is going to have one of the items framed.
Asked if she has a favourite piece, she said: “The butterfly necklace — it’s so symbolic. Caroline Scheufele, the Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, and I were on the phone just riffing while she was sketching it out.
“It was like when people come to the studio and we’re creating something and they’re watching it happen.
“She sent me the sketch and I’m going to frame it. But first I really need someone to come help me figure out my closet.”
Initially, Mariah thought the collection was going to be themed around ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, but the team had other ideas.
She added: “Then, the Chopard team stated the obvious — the butterfly. It also made sense because this year is the 25th anniversary of ‘Butterfly’, which is my most personal album. “It’s the body of work that I’m the most proud of as an artist, a producer and a writer. So it was just sort of kismet.”

Brad Pitt launches luxury skincare range

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt is launching a luxury skincare range.
The Hollywood star has unveiled beauty line Le Domaine, which has been developed in collaboration with the Perrin family of the Château Beaucastel vinters, and has been described as “science-meets-nature” with a face cream, cleanser and serum available.
He told Vogue magazine: “I know there are new products nearly every day that people are trying to launch, but if I hadn’t seen a real difference visually in my skin, we wouldn’t have bothered.”
The 58-year-old actor admitted he decided to consider launching his own brand despite not always following a good beauty routine of his own.
He explained: “I get sent stuff all the time and… ugh. It’s just all the same for me. But this last year we have been testing Le Domaine and I was really surprised by the results, and that for me, made it worth going forward.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Bullet Train’ star has shrugged off the idea of being the “face” of the brand.
He did point to his ex-fiancee Gwyneth Paltrow as an influence when it comes to the way she “built this empire” with her company Goop.
He added: “I love what Gwyneth’s done [with Goop]. She is still a really dear friend, and she has built this empire.
“She has always had that in her as a curator, and it’s been a lovely creative outlet for her.
“In fact, come to think about it, she was probably the first one who got me to even wash my face twice a day… maybe.”
Pitt also noted he doesn’t want to be seen as “running from ageing”.
He said: “It’s a concept we can’t escape, and I would like to see our culture embracing it a bit more, talking about it in those terms. Something we discussed [in founding Le Domaine] was this headline of ‘anti-ageing’. It’s ridiculous. It’s a fairytale. But what is real is treating your skin in a healthy manner.”

Brad Pitt hasn’t always had a ‘good’ skincare routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt hasn’t always had a “good” skincare routine.
The 58-year-old star admitted that while he is “looked after” with his complexion these days, things we’ren’t always that way but takes advice from his long-time makeup artist and likes to keep things “simple.”
Asked if he has always had a good routine, he said: “No. Well, when I’m looked after, I do [have a good skincare routine]. I just want to keep it simple, you know what I mean? That said, I’m actually thorough now. I’ve been whipped into shape by my dear make-up artist friend – we started together 30 years ago – Jean Black. She is pretty special. So whenever we’re on a film she keeps me healthy, and then she’s like, ‘try this’ and ‘try that.'”
The ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ actor has now been inspired to launch the skincare brand Le Domaine – which utilises grape-based antioxidants across a Serum, Cream, Fluid Cream and Cleansing Emulsion – but insisted he wouldn’t have started the project unless he felt he had something “valid” to offer.
He told Vogue: “We had been talking about it for so long I don’t remember now how it originally started. I remember reading about the health properties of grape skins as something we wanted to investigate. But the initial idea, right from the beginning, comes back to this place. It’s just steeped in creativity and it’s so fertile. Truthfully we wouldn’t have done it unless we felt there was something valid here, something original, something that worked. I get sent stuff all the time and… ugh. It’s just all the same for me. But this last year we have been testing Le Domaine and I was really surprised by the results, and that for me, made it worth going forward.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendall and Kylie Jenner would “always wear” matching clothes when growing up.
The sisters – who shot to fame alongside the rest of the reality TV dynasty when they started appearing on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ back in 2007 – would often wear clothes sold at their mother Kris Jenner’s store and elder sister Kendall, 26, reminisced as she looked at an old photo from their season one premiere.
She said: “I remember these dresses so well. Kylie and I always had matching clothes,” she says. “My mom and Kourtney had a children’s clothing store called Smooch. I’m pretty positive both of these dresses were from Smooch.”
The supermodel went on to take a look at her outfit from the 2018 Met Gala – which was a custom white dress designed by the late Virgil Abloh – and explained that while most of her correspondence with the designer over Facetime, she never felt a “disconnect” during their meetings before reflecting that it was “cool” to see her progress at the annual fashion event over the years.

Jennifer Coolidge used to go to beauty school

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Coolidge used to go to beauty school.
The 61-year-old actress is known for her role as manicurist Paulette Bonafonte in the 2001 comedy ‘Legally Blonde’ opposite Reese Witherspoon but revealed that she actually trained as a beautician in real life but was not “brilliant” like her classmates.
She said: “At one point I went to makeup school, but I wasn’t brilliant like the others in my class. I’ll never forget my final. You just had to take anyone and make them really beautiful. I wasn’t going to cheat and bring in a model and I thought it was unfair because there were a couple of people who did just that. I brought in a regular person. It wasn’t like a work of art. You know, sometimes these makeup artists come to your house and make you up for events, and they leave, and you’re like, I have never been able to make myself look even close to what they did. Some people are just makeup geniuses.”
The ‘American Pie’ star went on to explain that it took her “five or six years” of experiencing “teary eyes” while wearing makeup before she realised that she was suffering an allergic reaction and urged others to be “careful” with their complexion.
She told Allure: “I just cared about what it looked like on the skin. I was never someone who cared very much about ingredients. Then, I’d say the last five or six years, I started getting allergic. My eyes would always be tearing up, but it never occurred to me that it was my makeup.
“You have to be really careful because even if you buy makeup where they say it’s clean…even the clean brands are not all the way clean. They still have things in them that shouldn’t be in there. You realise it’s maybe not good for our health to be using all that stuff.”

‘The White Lotus’ star – who is one of the few returning cast members to the Mike White-created satire’s second season set in Sicily – revealed her attempt not to resemble a “big, white marshmallow” got her admitted to the hospital while filming the HBO critically-acclaimed show.
The 61-year-old actress told Allure magazine: “For ‘The White Lotus’, I didn’t want to look like a big, white marshmallow on the beach in Hawaii, so I got a spray tan. I got on the plane and I started to feel really weird. By the time I got off the flight, I had to go to the emergency room.”
Jennifer – who scooped up her first Emmy for her portrayal of emotionally damaged heiress Tanya McQuoid earlier this month – had to end up just relying on “regular makeup” while shooting in at the luxury resort in Hawaii alongside her co-stars such as Connie Britton, Jacey Lacey, Sydney Sweeney, Alexandra Daddario and Natasha Rothwell.
She said: “I think we ended up using regular make-up. The minute we stopped filming, I would shower. I have such a quick reaction to stuff.”
The ‘American Pie’ star revealed she only just “started getting allergic” to beauty products.
Jennifer said: “I was never someone who cared very much about ingredients. Then, I’d say the last five or six years, I started getting allergic. My eyes would always be tearing up, but it never occurred to me that it was my make-up.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sevigny finds brand names on sunglasses “very frustrating”.
The ‘Bones and All’ star loves Warby Parker – the glasses brand she is an ambassador for – because they are “affordable” and they keep their designs clean and simple, opting to not put “labels on the side”.
The 47-year-old actress told Interview magazine: “Warby is affordable and there’s no labels on the side. I am so frustrated every time I see a good pair of sunglasses, and you open the arm, and there’s some big chunky brand name on the arm. That I find very frustrating about the sunglasses world, period.”

She said: “I feel like whenever anybody wants to make me look bookish, they put me in glasses. David Fincher put me in glasses in Zodiac, a little wire frame. It was pretty. And Casey Storm did the costumes. Those are pretty special. Jim Jarmusch always puts me in glasses, like in Broken Flowers and The Dead Don’t Die. Maybe he’s turned on by them. I don’t know.”
The ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ star gushed about her adoration of her co-star Timothee Chalamet, 26 – who became the first male solo cover star of British Vogue on their October 2022 issue – in the new Luca Guadagnino-helmed flick about a cannibalistic love story.
Chloe said: “He’s worth it for me. I can’t say enough good things about him and adore him. Any chance to be in Chalamet’s world, please.”
She also addressed how she didn’t “even have one line” in the new movie, which also stars Michael Stuhlbarg and Taylor Russell.
Chloe said: “I don’t know. But oddly Luca texted me. He’s like, “I’m in the Midwest and doing this movie. I have a small but pivotal role. Would you come and do it?” And I was like, ‘I would come for one line for you.’ Then, I got the script. I was like, ‘I don’t even have one line.’”

Lauren admitted she never “believed” marriage was on the cards until her husband-to-be popped the question in a “really simple and sweet way” while vacationing in the city of love.
She said: “The cliché of when you know, you know. I never really believed it until that happened to me. It’s a funny feeling when you just find
“I also really do believe that you need to be ready within yourself before you can find somebody else to be with, which I also always thought was a cliché until I felt secure within myself and the person I am and where I’m at in life.peace and calm.”
“It was really simple and sweet in Paris. I never wanted one of those big showy public engagements. That’s just not my personality.”
The ‘Spiderman: Homecoming’ star called her co-star in the Marvel flick Zendaya – who played Mary Jane Watson opposite Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, her real-life love – “a fun, down to earth person” and “stupidly talented”.
After being asked what people might not about the ‘Euphoria’ star, Lauren said: “Just how she is a fun, down-to-earth person, despite being stunningly gorgeous and good at everything and stupidly talented and one of those people that you almost want to hate but you can’t because they’re just cool and nice.2 She’s a special person for sure.”

Camila Mendes plucks her eyebrows every day

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Mendes plucks her eyebrows every day.
The ‘Do Revenge’ star detailed her daily routine of how she keeps her eyebrows looking so enviable.
The 28-year-old actress told InStyle magazine: “Every day that I go to hair and makeup, I have to sit in front of a mirror with a pair of tweezers and pluck. Every day. There’s not a single day that I don’t. There’s a downside to having full eyebrows. It’s not like it’s just perfect right here and no hair anywhere else. No, I pay the price.”
Camila says the battle to get rid of it is something she has fought her “entire life”.
She said: “It’s just genetics, I’ve got to say. I was born with a unibrow that I was trying to get rid of my entire life.”
The ‘Riverdale’ star called her co-stars Madelaine Petsch and Lili Reinhart on the teen drama loosely based on the Archie Comic – which debuted on the CW in 2017 and has run for five seasons- “my sisters”.
Camila said: “They’re like my sisters — we’ve all seen parts of each other that no one else has seen. It’s like family — you don’t choose them. Maybe these aren’t people that I would’ve been friends with had I just met them once at a party, but we’re bonded by this experience. I fought with every one of these girls. We’ve had drama, we’ve had disagreements, we’ve cried, we’ve made up. We’ve been through a lot together and we’ve leaned on each other in those moments.”
Camila says working on ‘Riverdale’ has learnt to become “proud” of her acting chops despite often worrying she was “a f****** terrible actor”.
She said: “There were so many days on Riverdale where I came home being like, ‘I’m a f****** terrible actor. And then, the next day, I would show up and I’d be better, and I’d be like, ‘Oh my god, I’m so proud of the work I did today.’ You really get to see yourself [on a consistent network show] and there are lessons I’ve learned from that.”
