Tom Ford splashes out 52m on Jackie Kennedy’s childhood home

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Ford has splashed out $52 million on Jackie Kennedy Onassis’ childhood home.
The 61-year-old fashion designer – who recently sold his eponymous fashion label to Estée Lauder Cos. in a deal valued at around $2.8 billion – recently bought the Hamptons home from media producer David Zander, according to The Robb Report.
The house sits on seven acres of land, just blocks from the Atlantic ocean and was originally listed for $55 million.
It was designed by architect Arthur C. Jackson and completed in 1917 and includes an eight-bedroom main home featuring tall casement windows, beamed ceilings.
The compound also includes a two-bedroom guesthouse, caretaker’s cottage, pool house and three-car garage with a workshop, along with a flower meadow.
Zander bought the property from retail executive Reed Krakoff and his wife Delphine for $24 million in 2018.
He made substantial renovations during his five years of ownership, including revamping the interiors and rebuilding parts of the exterior.
He previously told The Wall Street Journal: “Every time I think there’s a spot in the house that I love the most, I go and sit somewhere else and I love that the most.”
Back in the 1920s, the property was known as Lasata—a Native American word meaning “Place of Peace”—and owned by the former First Lady’s paternal grandfather John Vernou Bouvier Jr.
The home is believed to be where Onassis would often spend her summers as a child.

Millie Bobby Brown created her own perfume after struggling to find a signature scent

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown created her own perfume because she couldn’t find one she liked.
The 19-year-old actress – who has starred in Netflix sci-fi hit ‘Stranger Things’ since she was 11 – is set to launch her new fragrance Wildly Me through her beauty brand Florence by Mills later this month and Millie revealed she opted to design a perfume because she did not have a signature scent.
Speaking to WWD, she explained: “Florence grows with me. It’s kind of a beautiful coming of age company. The brand started in 2019, and I never initially thought I was going to do a fragrance until it kind of came to me, like OK, this is something that feels right, something that people are asking for. And I actually don’t have a perfume that I particularly like and have gravitated toward, so building that and finding my fragrance was a real journey. Staying true to who I am and what I love is the journey of finding my fragrance.”
Millie also revealed she enjoys experimenting with her style and is relying on her own instincts rather than seeking professional advice.
She explained: “I’ve had all the phases. But ultimately I’ve now landed in this very simple, soft fabric [stage]. Everything is minimalistic in my fashion right now. And that I think portrays my mental state as well. Everything is very laid back and simple and easy and on the go, I mean everything. You know what I mean? I don’t want to wear anything that’s too fitting. Right now in my life, I want to wear the clothes, I don’t want things to wear me.”

Designer praises Zendaya as ‘our ideal of a modern woman’

OHMYGOSSIP — Designer Nensi Dojaka says Zendaya is “our ideal of a modern woman”.
The designer – who was the winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Designers in 2021 – has previously dressed Zendaya for the Dune afterparty and her advertisements for the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge lipstick and was thrilled to reunite with her for Zendaya’s new Smartwater campaign.
Speaking about the bespoke flowy blue dress worn by Zendaya, 26 – which is based on a style from her line’s fall 2023 collection – she told WWD it is: “an evolution of a signature piece the brand is known for, which is the padded mini corset, and now it evolved into an asymmetric dress with an organic neckline. It is structured enough internally to preserve the shape, yet seemingly light on the outside with the flowy chiffon in the flared part of it. It’s more tapered at the waist to create a very feminine shape and embrace her body”.
She added that the dress comes with “a very beautifully curved shape which coincidentally mimics the curves in Smartwater,” and the use of blue “works perfectly with the design because it enhances the graphic nature of it.”
Nensi is among a number of London-based fashion designers who created bespoke outfits for Zendaya’s Smartwater campaign.
Conner Ives, Chet Lo, Aaron Esh and Di Petsa, have all contributed pieces.

Pharrell Williams isn’t competing

OHMYGOSSIP — Pharrell Williams says his Humanrace skincare brand isn’t competing with anyone.
Although Pharrell, 50, acknowledges there are other excellent skincare brands around, he insisted that he only wants to learn from them and hopes that all of the companies can inspire each other.
He told the goop podcast: “If we’re going to be in this space, we have to make it better than we found it. And we have to be friendly to the other brands, the ones that are doing well that we can learn from. We’re going to be competitive—like we’re running a race, a human race—but we’re not looking to our left and right to beat anyone. We’re running our a**** off forward. And we’re pushing things forward.”
Pharrell also wants to keep his skincare brand as green as possible.
He explained: “Humanrace is as clean as possible—in formulation, as well as in its imprint on the planet. We wanted to do everything more than right. Let’s use far more PCR [postconsumer recycled plastic] than we do virgin plastic. Let’s make sure we’re refillable. Let’s make sure we go beyond what Europe allows.”
Humanrace follows the European Union’s guidelines in excluding ingredients deemed unsafe.
Pharrell is a record producer, fashion designer, rapper, and clean beauty and fashion entrepreneur and says he doesn’t want to limit himself.
He explained: “We’re all pluralists. I think it’s just a natural thing for an artist, or anyone who’s chosen different mediums or disciplines to express themselves in, to turn something they’re interested in into a business. Why would you not want to apply your artistic lens to some new product, process, experience, or design?”

‘I love it’: Florence Pugh serves Food Network star Guy Fieri hair look

OHMYGOSSIP — Florence Pugh has joked that she looks like Food Network’s Guy Fieri when her bleached pixie haircut dries naturally.
The ‘Oppenheimer’ star, 27, shared a selfie in the car of her naturally dried hair and admitted she felt like the 55-year-old spiky-haired ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’ host.
She quipped on her Instagram Story: “Sometimes when I get out of the shower I look like Guy Fieri and I love it.”
In another post, she added: “Just saying … could be the new mayor of flavour town. Or should I say… ’Flo’ver town.”
Florence Pugh shaved her head to take the “vanity out of the picture”.
The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ actress caused a buzz on the red carpet when she walked the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala in May sporting a cropped hairstyle.
And she explained the decision to shear all her hair off was deliberate to protect herself as an actress. By changing her appearance, she believes she can produce more convincing on-screen performances.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine, she said: “I purposefully chose to look like that. I wanted vanity out of the picture.
“Hollywood is very glamorous – especially for women – and it’s hard for an audience to see past that. Whenever I’ve not needed to be glam or have a full face of makeup, I fight to keep it that way. It helps the audience. Vanity is gone.
“The only thing that people can look at then is your raw face.”
The British star – who made her acting debut in 2014 drama film ‘The Falling’ – says she has constantly been fighting to have control over her own image.
She explained: “Even at the beginning of my career, I was always fighting to control my image. It helps me when I’m wearing less makeup because then I’m less of a sparkly thing on screen. I feel like I’m allowed to do ugly faces, like it’s more acceptable.”
And Florence believes that opting to wear less makeup has helped her land unconventional roles as Hollywood glamour can serve as a distraction.
She added: “I’ve loved stretching any size of role, any obscure character.
“There are things where I don’t know how I mustered the courage – but I pushed myself off the cliff and hoped the wings came out.”

‘He gave me his blessing’: Lori Harvey explains why she reused her brother’s brand name for swimwear line

OHMYGOSSIP — Lori Harvey has revealed her brother, Jason Harvey, gave her permission to use his footwear brand’s name for her new swimwear line.
On Monday (07.08.23), the 26-year-old model – who is the daughter of comedian Steve Harvey – unveiled Yevrah Swim, which she has launched with Revolve, and she was quizzed by an Instagram user on why she had used the same name as her sibling’s shoe brand that is no more.
They asked: “Doesn’t your brother own a footwear company called Yevrah??
“Couldn’t think of an original name?” And she responded: “He used to, not anymore. I asked if I could revive and rebrand the name and he gave me his blessing.”
Lori – who was in a relationship with actor Michael B. Jordan from 2020 to 2022 – is already the founder of the skincare brand, SKN by LH, which she launched in 2021.
The model managed to create the business without any financial help from her parents, and she’s very proud of what she’s managed to accomplish.
She previously told E! News: “That has arguably been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life, but also one of the most rewarding and fulfilling because this is the first thing that I’ve really been able to call my own thing, that I built from the ground up.
“It would’ve been very easy for me to just ask my parents to connect me with people and set it up, and I’ll just slap my name on it and go about my day. But I really wanted to learn the ins and outs of the business.
“I wanted to be very hands-on with everything I was doing, and I wanted to make the mistakes, so that I could learn from them and really know how to be a businesswoman at the end of the day.”

Kim Kardashian is the face of Marc Jacobs

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian is the new face of Marc Jacobs.
The SKIMS founder – whose shapewear line has been valued at $4 billion – stars in the luxury brand’s autumn/winter 2023 campaign, shot by British fashion photographer Tyrone Lebon.
The black-and-white looks were styled by Alastair McKimm.
The brand said in a statement that the line boasts “a fresh mix of tactile textures, oversized silhouettes, and polka dot prints, first conceptualized for the Marc Jacobs Runway, now reimagined for the everyday wardrobe.”
Key pieces she’s wearing include the Kiki Ankle Boot, a black polka dot coat and skirt, a black corset, pencil skirt and a polka dot bag.
Each snap includes the signature Marc Jacobs Tote Bag.
The 42-year-old style icon follows in the footsteps of the likes of Paris Hilton, Winona Ryder, Pamela Anderson, and Nicki Minaj in modelling for Marc Jacobs.
Kim – who curated the Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2023 collection inspired by its 90s heyday – recently admitted she still feels like an “impostor”.
The businesswoman – who was married to rapper Kanye West from 2014 until 2021 and has North, 10, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and four-year-old Psalm with him – admitted that the success of SKIMS has made her realise that things have got “bigger” than she could ever have imagined.
She told TIME magazine: “Obviously you have big hopes, but this definitely exceeded everything that I ever imagined. I thought it’d be a hit at some Hollywood party. I still have, like, impostor syndrome or whatever. I think that’s part of what keeps me going.”
‘The Kardashians’ star’s shapewear line was inspired by her own struggles with fashion because she had to use household items such as teabags to dye material, so it matched her skin tone.
She added: “It started off with simply finding shapewear that was a skin tone that would match my colour. I used to take my shapewear and dye it with tea bags and coffee in the bathtub. I always like to see it on myself. I can absolutely tell when I miss a few drops.”
Kim – who shot to fame when a sex tape of herself and former boyfriend Ray J was leaked onto the internet in 2007 and soon after began starring on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ alongside her now-world-famous family – went on to admit that in her next decade, she will “not want” to pose in her underwear but is determined to look as “young” as possible for as long as she can.
She added: “I understand that maybe in my 50s, I’m not going to be wanting to pose in my underwear. We’ll do anything we can to look as young as we can and we’re not going to go out not trying.”

Elvis’ granddaughter had a ‘really cringe’ catwalk debut as a teen

OHMYGOSSIP — Riley Keough found her teenage catwalk debut “really cringe”.
The 33-year-old actress/model – who is the granddaughter of late music legend Elvis Presley – was “very nervous” walking the runway at Milan Fashion Week in a Dolce and Gabbana fashion show in 2004.
She recalled in a cover interview with Vanity Fair magazine: “This was also really cringe.
“This was my very first fashion show.
“I would’ve been 14 and I remember I was very nervous.
“It was a big moment for my 14 year old self.
“My whole life was pretty public, but I think this probably felt like the first time that I was like, doing something alone as opposed to a family thing.”
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old star recently admitted her fashion sense is both “malleable” and “inconsistent”.
Riley changes her mind often and will go from wearing jeans and a T-shirt to looking totally “together” within the space of a day.
She told Who What Wear: “I think I’m very malleable [when it comes to fashion], and it’s super Gemini … I have days where I’m like: ‘I don’t feel inspired to wear anything – I just want to wear a T-shirt and pants and sneakers’ and then another day where I feel really inspired to put a whole look together. I’m very inconsistent.”
Riley also opened up about her self-care routine, admitting she tries her best to look after herself especially when she’s working on a demanding acting role – revealing she enjoys meditating and taking long showers.
She explained: “It’s a difficult job emotionally when you’re putting yourself in these places a lot. You have to find this weird balance of taking care of yourself somehow.
“For me, a lot of that actually comes when I go home, and I have rituals like meditating or laying in the shower or trying to let it go for the day and not carry it into my sleep.”
Riley stars in the musical drama ‘Daisy Jones and The Six’ and recently admitted she loved the 1970s fashion of the show and found herself watching lots of videos of female stars from the era to get a sense of their style and movement.
She told NET-A-PORTER’s digital title PORTER: “I have very severe Fomo for the 1970s. I watched so many videos of [singers] in that era to get a sense of their movements.”

Rihanna drops maternity line so women can feel sexy as a parent

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna has launched a maternity line so women can “channel sexiness and feel good” as a parent.
The 35-year-old singer has become known for her trend-setting maternity outfits and now she’s released a Savage x Fenty line so every mother can ooze “confidence” while expecting.
The size-inclusive line includes three bralettes and an oversized graphic tee with “Make More Babies” emblazoned across it.
Speaking to Vogue, she said: “The new maternity capsule is about bringing that confidence and comfort to moms at every stage of their journeys.
“I want to remind people that you can still channel sexiness and feel good while being a parent.”
Heavily pregnant Rihanna recently urged fans to buy her top with the cheeky message: ‘Use a Condom’.
The billionaire ‘Umbrella’ singer, who is expecting her second child with her rapper partner A$AP Rocky, 34, after they had their son RZA Athelston Mayers on May 13 last year, posed for several shots on her Instagram wearing the piece from her Savage X Fenty range.
Rihanna captioned the images – including one of which showed her cradling her baby bump – with: “This shirt is old… .”
The photos were also shared on Savage X Fenty’s Instagram page with the caption: “And if ya can’t remember, buy the mf shirt. #PSA.”
The top is part of a range that includes an ‘I’m a Virgin’ top, with the message ‘This Is a Very Old Shirt’ in smaller writing on its bottom.
Rihanna previously declared maternity fashion “a piece of cake”.
The ‘Love On The Brain’ hitmaker loved putting together ensembles when she was expecting her firstborn but found dressing much harder after he was born.
She told British Vogue: “Dressing for pregnancy was such a piece of cake.
“But dressing in postpartum, what the f*** do you do? The week that I came home from the hospital – that was nothing but sweats and hoodies. But the weeks after that, you don’t know what to put on. Everything is too small or too big.
“You kind of just gotta wait it out otherwise you end up buying so many clothes you’re not going to use. Well, unless you get pregnant again.”

Kit Connor: I’ve always had a passion for fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Connor has always “loved” wearing suits.
The 19-year-old actor – who rose to prominence starring as Nick Nelson in Netflix’s ‘Heartstopper’ – has been interested in fashion since a very young age but it’s taken until the last few years for him to find his own sense of style.
He told WWD: “I think it’s always been an interest and it’s just evolved over time.
“Maybe this is a sort of silly example, but I always remember I really loved any occasion that I could wear a suit.
“I’ve got recollections of being, like, four years old and wearing a bow tie to Christmas of my own decision. But I think it’s only in the last few years that I’ve really started to find my own style.”
Sporting an “old Hollywood with a twist” attire, Kit draws inspiration from the late James Dean but is willing to experiment with his look.
He added: “I kind of will try my best to integrate that. But then in the last year or so, I’ve tried to not limit myself to a rule in fashion. I don’t want to be like, ‘OK, well I like old Hollywood, so I’m just going to stick to that.’ If you want to wear something, then you just got to do it and try it.”
Earlier this year, Kit attended Paris Fashion Week where he sat front row at the Loewe Autumn 2023 show and he was “blown away” by the runway presentation.
He said: “I was just blown away by the amazing work that I’ve seen of his.
“Even before I’d met him, I was already a fan, but ever since then, being able to see it in person I was really excited by what he does.
“What I always have always seen about Jonathan is that he has such an eye for art in general, and he has such great taste. That art isn’t just with fashion, it’s in all aspects. I think he’s so consumed by art in a lot of ways, be it a film or a jacket or a painting or a poem, he’s just completely enthralled by it.”

Miley Cyrus wears black to blend in off stage

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus mainly wears “all black” when she’s not working
The ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ hitmaker enjoys a “classic” look when she’s off stage, particularly because it helps her go about her everyday life largely unnoticed, but when she’s performing for her fans, she enjoys playing with the colours and textures of her wardrobe.
She told Britain’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “On my days off I am usually in all black; there is something classic [about it] – you could find a girl from each generation I’ve admired wearing something similar.
“I like that it’s mysterious and doesn’t draw too much attention to me. Then, when I am on stage, I use colour and fabric to enhance the emotion of the music.”
But throughout her everchanging looks and elaborate outfits over the years, Miley learnt it’s best to “keep it simple” as less is more.
She said: “More isn’t always better, its only more.”
The 30-year-old singer believes it is important to “enjoy your youth and preserve your innocence” and she loves the carefree attitude she had to make-up when she was younger.
She said: “I love the way I painted my face when I was a little girl, only thinking about myself and what I liked – none of the confusing opinions of others you collect as you grow older.”
Miley has adopted a “minimal” skincare routine, which has benefited her battle with acne, and she thinks her fresh-faced look helps her to be honest.
She said: “My skin cleared up the more I cleaned out my products and kept it minimal and essential.
“There is nothing sexier than someone being in their honest feelings. So I nurture myself as a human and that radiates through my skin and invites people in to do the same when we’re together, which depends connection.”
