Angelina Jolie was a ‘punk’ who burned holes in her clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie was a teenage punk who used to cut up her clothes and burn holes in them.
The Hollywood actress has opened up about her “dark” style choices when she was younger as she launches her own fashion brand Atelier Jolie which will open a shop in New York in November to provide tailoring and upcycling services as well as made to measure pieces.
Speaking about her previous looks, Angelina admitted she was a particularly rebellious fashion lover, telling Vogue magazine: “I was quite dark when I was young. I was a punk, not the popular kid – going to thrift stores, cutting things up, burning little teeny cigarette holes into things: That was me as a teenager, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
Her shop will also boast a gallery and a cafe and will provide a made-to-measure clothing service as well as repairs as part of a commitment to sustainability. Hand-painted patches will cost around $10 to apply and Angelina has been looking into a way to get a person’s tattoos imprinted on the fabric which will be used to repair their clothing.
She said: “We’re trying to see if we can take photographs of tattoos and turn them into patches – the idea is to make your clothing your own, instead of simply getting rid of it.”
The project has also allowed her to create a capsule collection with fashion house Chloe which is inspired by Angelina’s Hollywood style and 84 percent of the range is made using sustainable and ethical materials.
Angelina went on to add her style has changed a lot over the years, but she’s still learning to understand who she really it when it comes to clothing.
She added: “Sometimes the way you dress says, ‘Don’t mess with me – I’ve got my armour on’. But I want a woman to feel safe enough that she can be soft.
“After I went through something where I was hurt, I had a therapist ask if I would try wearing a flowing garment. Sounds silly, but I assumed that pants and boots projected a ‘tougher’ look, a stronger me. But was I strong enough to be soft? At the time, no. I felt vulnerable. Now I wonder if I don’t know what my style is because I’m still understanding who I am at 48. I guess I’m in transition as a person.”

Isabella Rossellini inspired by mum Ingrid Bergman’s simple beauty regime

OHMYGOSSIP — Isabella Rossellini’s beauty regime is inspired by her late mum Ingrid Bergman.
The 71-year-old actress has revealed the Hollywood icon – who died in 1982 – always kept her cosmetics simple and “efficient” and was known for wearing just lipstick, mascara and perfume every day except when she had a big event which would involve using a hair and make-up artist.
Speaking to Town and Country magazine, Isabella explained: “My mother had a very down-to-earth approach to life that translated also in her beauty routine, which was simple but efficient.
“Every day she wore lipstick, mascara, and perfume. On special occasions, like a big event, she would have a makeup artist and hair dresser help her. She didn’t have a stylist, but a friend who was a costume designer who advised her about evening gowns. It was all much simpler then.”
Isabella is a longtime ambassador for beauty company Lancome and she credits the brand’s skincare line with keeping her looking good into her 70s without ever needing cosmetic surgery or Botox.
She said: “I am the living example of the efficacy of Lancome products. I have worked for this cosmetic company for over 40 years and used all the skincare that is generously made available to me. My preferred line is the Renergie collection.”
However, she admits using make-up to help give her a more youthful appearance.
Isabella went on to share the beauty secrets she has impressed upon her daughter Elettra, 40. She added: “Having a healthy life, eating correctly, not smoking, and not drinking excessively helps in all domains.”

Victoria Beckham based new perfumes on treasured memories

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham based her new collection of fragrances on treasured memories from her life.
The pop star-turned-fashion designer has her own clothing line and beauty brand and she’s now adding scents to her brand with three gender neutral eau de parfums handcrafted by expert perfumer Jérôme Epinette called Portofino ’97, Suite 302, and San Ysidro Drive.
Victoria has revealed San Ysidro Drive is named after the road in Beverly Hills , California where she moved to with her family back in 2007. She told Vogue: “It was a time of healing. It reminds me of Malibu and hiking and surfing with the kids. The life we had there.”
The scent is described as “An intense rush of passion fruit and pink peony; vitalising ocean air infused with rich rose absolute, saffron flower and agarwood; black amber and vanilla incensing the atmosphere of a personal sanctuary.”
Suite 302 is inspired by her “whirlwind weekends” in Paris with her husband David and is named after her ideal hotel suite, declaring her time in the French capital felt ” opulent” and “glamorous” while the scent is listed as being “an erotic mélange of black cherry and red peppercorn”.
The third fragrance is Portofino ’97 which is inspired by a trip to Italy she took with David just three months after they started dating. The couple stayed at the Splendido clifftop hotel in Portofino and Victoria says the fragrance evokes memories of the most perfect holiday.
She added to the publication: “I remember David lying on the bed, and I opened up the doors that overlooked the sea, and it was so breathtaking. I had never experienced anything like it before. I will never, ever forget that. It was very sexy.”
The perfume is described as a “euphoric hit of calabrian bergamot and black pepper; crisp white sheets suffused with incense and amber; patchouli and vetiver lingering on the skin of a significant other”.
The fragrances retail for £170 and are available from VictoriaBeckhamBeauty.com.

Skai Jackson is ‘so lazy with skincare’

OHMYGOSSIP — Skai Jackson is “so lazy with skincare”.
The former ‘Jessie’ star simply washes her face, before toning and slapping on moisturiser, but has been told she needs to do more to keep her visage healthy.
After being complimented on her skin by rapper Lola Brooke, 29, during a chat for Interview magazine, the 21-year-old actress said: “Thank you. I’ve been trying to drink more water. I tried to get into the skincare, but I’m so lazy with skincare. I literally will wash my face, tone it with witch hazel and put on vitamin E oil. And people are like, ‘You can’t do that. You gotta get a full regimen.’”
Lola responded: “I thought that was one. The most I do is a cute sugar scrub. I just moisturize it and keep it going.
Skai continued: “That’s what I did too, the sugar scrub. And they’re like, ‘That is so bad for your skin.’”
The ‘Descendants 3’ star revealed that she and her mother Kiya Cole, 48, also still uses the much-maligned apricot scrub.
Skai said: “That’s what they said. But listen, my mom, me, we use the apricot scrub. We’ve always used that and it works for us.”
The ex ‘Dancing With the Stars’ has also tried to follow a “healthier” diet to feel better from the inside.
Skai said: “I don’t eat pork anymore. I love fruit, so I’ll eat fruit all day. I’ve been trying to eat healthier because I realised when I stopped eating fast food for a while and then I ate it again a couple of weeks ago, it made me feel like I was on a drug. Like, that’s not normal.”

Elizabeth Debicki ‘always’ admired Princess Diana’s ‘iconic’ style

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Debicki has “always” admired Princess Diana’s “iconic” style.
‘The Crown’ star portrays the late Princess of Wales – whose life tragically ended after a Paris car crash in 1997 aged 36 alongside her boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed – in the Peter Morgan-created Netflix show and has always loved the mark the ex-wife of King Charles III left on fashion history before she landed the role.
The 33-year-old actress told Harper’s Bazaar: “I’ve been wearing versions of Princess Diana’s clothes for two years now! I’ve always admired her fashion. She was and still is incredibly iconic.”
Elizabeth mused that finding clothes that make you feel like your best self are hard to find.
She said: “Clothing that allows you to feel like yourself is what puts you at ease. But it can take a long time to figure out what that is.”
The former ‘Night Manager’ star – who is a Dior ambassador – admitted that she used to find discussing her personal style “quite difficult”.
She said: “Despite years and years passing from when I first started working as an actress, I find talking about fashion quite difficult as it’s very complex. And yet, it often sounds so simple when you say things like, ‘I’ve always just worn what I enjoy.’ Fashion is an expression of whatever or wherever you are in yourself. I’ve always been drawn to a certain silhouette or the culture of a brand; it’s a feeling you get from the creations or what it feels like to work with the people behind the brand.
“I’ve been working with Dior for a few years now and feel so lucky in this collaboration. When the house approached me about working together, I was amazed! They’ve always been the best of the best – so incredibly clever, classic and the ultimate timeless brand. So, I didn’t have to think terribly hard about that collaboration. It’s been a beautiful thing to be a part of. As I do their jewellery campaigns, I’ve been folded into the brand in a different way from what I’ve experienced with other brands before. This is really more like being a part of a family.”

Gwen Stefani’s stage makeup is her ‘armour’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani feels like she’s putting her “armour” on when she does her stage makeup.
The ‘True Babe’ hitmaker still does her own glam before her shows because she finds it “really therapeutic”.
She told People: “It’s part of [me] putting the armour on and getting ready to do what I do and be that version of me.
“It’s really therapeutic because it’s very artful. I will listen to the gospel, [say] my prayers, and then I put my makeup on. It’s just this whole process that goes into getting on the stage.”
The GXVE Beauty founder admits that it’s “harder” to feel pretty as you get older, but wearing makeup makes her “still feel pretty”.
She said: “Especially at my age now, I feel like there’s so many people that are around my age that just want to still feel pretty, you know what I’m saying? [We want to] feel good and wake up in the morning.
“I think that with makeup, it doesn’t matter what age you are.
“It gives you that confidence and that feeling of creativity.”
Gwen previously shared how she wanted to “create a community of makeup lovers” with GXVE.
The ‘Cool’ hitmaker cited how people all wear cosmetics for “different” reasons and longed to celebrate that with her beauty line.
She told Allure magazine: “I wanted to create a community of makeup lovers like me. We all have different colour skin and all have different things that we wear different colours for.”

Billie Eilish feels her best after a self-care shower with all her ‘lotions and smells’

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish always prioritises time for a self-care shower with “my lotions and smells”.
The ‘What Was I Made For?’ singer has revealed that she feels her best after pampering herself with a shower and insists it’s the best way to calm down when you are having a bad day “emotionally”.
Speaking to Allure magazine, she said: “I watch things that bring me comfort, swim in my pool, but I feel best right out of the shower, with my lotions and my smells and I’m in a clean environment. When you’re in a s****y spot emotionally, when you change the things in front of you, it can help so much. I’m trying to prioritise. I wrote in a song years ago… ‘to keep myself together and prioritise my pleasure.’
She said of the song ‘Getting Older’: “I said that three years ago, and then I didn’t do it!
“So I’m doing it now. And I’ve made enough people feel good that I deserve to feel good too.”
Billie is promoting her latest fragrance Billie No.3 and she says fans can mix her three scents.
She said: “If you combined Eilish No. 1 and No. 2, you’d have this sweeter, more romantic version.”
The 21-year-old superstar previously admitted she might “overdo” how much she sprays of her fragrance Billie No.2 to make sure it “lasts” during performances.
She said: “Well, I gotta do my wrists, all up my arms, but I overdo it, especially because I wear it a lot during shows and I go out into the crowd. And I want it to last, so I’m putting it on before shows, which are around an hour and 40 minutes so it has to last that long. And Eilish No. 2 does, which is really sick and a big priority for me. So I’ll overdo it: I’ll go all over my arms, I’m spraying my neck like a m***********, I’ll go under my shirt and all over my chest, sometimes on my, like, sternum or whatever. And then, sometimes I’ll spray my hair because it stays in your hair—I know you’re really not supposed to do that, but I do it. Sometimes I’ll spray the front or back of my shirt, my thighs—I don’t know, I just go crazy on perfume, dude.”

‘I can’t pull it off’: Jennifer Coolidge avoids darker lipsticks

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Coolidge can’t “pull off” darker lip shades.
The ‘White Lotus’ star has just launched her Dirty Pillows four-piece lip kit with e.l.f. Cosmetics, and she admits she can’t get away with dark reds and brown lip products.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Jennifer said: “I don’t look good with a dark red or a dark brown.
Anything that’s sort of darker, I can’t pull it off.”
The 62-year-old actress is known for her juicy voluptuous lips and loves nothing more than when people ask her how she achieves her glossy look.
She continued: “If someone says, ‘Your lips look great,’ that’s a compliment, but I love when people go, ‘What combo do you have on?’.
“That’s the ultimate compliment, because then they want to look like you. Who’s going to take the time to listen to a monologue unless they really want to know?”
The ‘Legally Blonde’ star also recalled going on a date and the man informing her she overdraws her lip line.
She shared: “I’ll never forget: In my youth, when I was on a date, I had a guy say to me once, ‘You draw way too far above your lips.
“It was the only thing he said that was right. I was going way above my lips.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow gushed over her ex-partner Brad Pitt’s Le Domaine Skincare line.
The ‘Fight Club’ star, 59, launched his gender neural line last October and his former fiancée – whom he was with from 1994 to 1997 – was on his PR mailing list to receive some of the goodies, and they have her seal of approval.
Speaking to The New York Times, the 51-year-old star said: “It’s good.
“Yeah, it’s really beautiful.”
Brad was actually inspired by Gwyneth’s lifestyle brand Goop to start his own brand.
He told Vogue magazine last year: “I love what Gwyneth’s done [with Goop].
“She is still a really dear friend, and she has built this empire. She has always had that in her as a curator, and it’s been a lovely creative outlet for her.”
The luxury line Le Domaine is described as “science-meets-nature” with a face cream, cleanser and serum available.
Brad said: “I know there are new products nearly every day that people are trying to launch, but if I hadn’t seen a real difference visually in my skin, we wouldn’t have bothered.”
The Hollywood star went on to state that he doesn’t want to be seen as “running from ageing”.
He said: “It’s a concept we can’t escape, and I would like to see our culture embracing it a bit more, talking about it in those terms. Something we discussed [in founding Le Domaine] was this headline of ‘anti-ageing’. It’s ridiculous. It’s a fairytale. But what is real is treating your skin in a healthy manner.”

FKA Twigs crawls in DIRT at Valentino Parish Fashion Week show

OHMYGOSSIP — FKA Twigs crawled around in literal dirt for her Valentino Paris Fashion Week show.
The ‘Killer’ singer was dubbed “otherworldly” by actress Florence Pugh – A Valentino brand ambassador – for her ‘Unearth Her’ performance during the fashion house’s catwalk show in the French Capital.
The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ star, wow rocked a pink power suit, wrote on Instagram: “@fkatwigs is something other worldly.
“What an amazing performance in @maisonvalentino show, truly f****** magnificent. (sic)”
Twigs, who sported a nude bandeau top and matching mini skirt, was on top of a box covered in dirt and found a microphone buried within it before putting on some headphones and singing in French.
Meanwhile, Florence recently insisted she is “happy” with all of her skimpy style choices after her Valentino gown furore.
The ‘A Good Person’ star never intended to “offend” anyone but remains confused as to why people were vitriolic about the sheer Valentino gown she wore to the Italian fashion house’s show last summer.
The 27-year-old actress told Vogue: “I’ve never been scared of what’s underneath the fabric. If I’m happy in it, then I’m gonna wear it. Of course, I don’t want to offend people, but I think my point is: How can my nipples offend you that much?”
Last July, Florence quipped that “technically” her boobs were “covered” before clapping back at the immense backlash, asserting “not a wink of me was nervous” to sport the hot pink frock “before, during or even now after”.
In a fiery Instagram post, she said: “What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see. It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers. What’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be.”
The ‘Little Women’ star mused that she is secure with the “intricacies of my body” and was okay with “all of the flaws I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14,”.
Florence added: “I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.”

Khloe Kardashian defends fashion choice after backlash from fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian has defended her decision to wear a “fanny pack”.
The 39-year-old reality star has responded after some fans didn’t seem to approve of the fashion choice, and she has insisted the accessory is “just convenient for carpool” when it comes to picking up daughter True, five, from school.
In an Instagram Story, she joked: “For those of you who love to remind me about the fanny pack situation… I don’t need the reminder.
“I’m gonna go do school carpool and a fanny pack is just convenient for carpool, OK?”
She teasingly flashed the peace sign and insisted everything would “be ok” whether she wore the accessory or not.
She quipped: “I get it. I love you guys. Everything’s gonna be OK. Fanny pack or not, everything’s gonna be OK.”
Last month, Khloe unveiled her Fabletics collaboration after teaming up with the brand on a new activewear collection under the name The Khloe Edit.
At the time, she explained how she is more inspired to work out at the gym if she’s feeling “really cute”.
She told Vogue magazine: “If I feel really cute in the gym, it really makes me want to go and work out. So I do think investing in good workout clothes motivates you.”
And while she has defended her fanny pack, she did open up to the publication about some of her style regrets.
She said: “Anything from when the neon-colored jeans were in. And why was I wearing these or fringe sandals? I don’t even like sandals like that.
“But when the boho style was thriving, I would be like, I want to wear that too, just because everyone was wearing them.
“But I’m not the boho girl, and I think you just have to know some trends are cute, but they’re just not for you.”

Pamela Anderson reveals powerful inspiration behind makeup free style

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson has revealed her makeup free style is “all about self-acceptance”.
The 56-year-old former Playboy model has made waves recently by stepping out rocking a more natural look, and she is focused on herself rather than trying to impress anybody else.
She told i-D magazine: “It’s all about self-acceptance.
“This is the chapter of my life I’m trying to embrace now. Since I really walk out the door as me, I feel relief—a weight off my shoulders…
“I’m dressing for me now, not for everybody else.”
It’s not always easy, but the former ‘Baywatch’ icon – who became a global sex symbol on the 1990s show – has revealed how she gives herself confidence boosts during moments of self doubt.
She added: “You just have to understand that you’re good enough and that you are beautiful.
“I like to say the word, ‘life-ing’ instead of aging. Chasing youth is just futile.”
Last month, Pamela revealed her decision to embrace a fresh faced style came after her breakup artist Alexis Vogel died from breast cancer in 2019.
She told Elle: “She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”
She described the minimalist look at “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too”, and it goes well with her longstanding outlook on life.
She explained: “I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone’s doing.
“I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older.
“And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really… what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard credits Saint Laurent with evolving his style choices

OHMYGOSSIP — Finn Wolfhard has credited his Saint Laurent campaign with evolving his own personal style.
The ‘Stranger Things’ actor – who has played Mike Wheeler on Netflix’s hit sci-fi series since he was 12 years old – admitted he “didn’t really know anything about designer clothes” before his first fashion campaign in 2019 when he was 16.
He told People magazine: “I think after I did that campaign. I was like, ‘Oh, okay, I know that I like black pinstripe suits now.’
“After that shoot, I was definitely more aware of the history behind the brand and I think it helped me with style.”
He’s making similar discoveries in the beauty world too, teaming up with YSL Beauty as one of the “voices” of the brand’s men’s fragrance MSYLF.
He recalled: “Growing up, obviously when you’re just a guy in high school, there’s not really much fragrance going on. There’s a lot of AXE body spray.”
However, he has now developed into a “subtle wearer”, while still going for a less-is-more approach to his beauty routine.
He added: “What’s so great about YSL and the fragrance is that it is breaking that [masculine] mold a little bit. I feel like I’m doing something artistic.”
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old actor takes comfort in the way YSL embraces simplicity.
He explained: “When someone has a subtle fragrance on, it makes me feel almost comfortable, and I think there’s an overall cool factor when someone’s wearing a good smell.”
Finn is yet to really embrace beauty products as an acting tool to delve into his characters, but scents do have a nostalgic hint.
He said: “If I smell a fragrance or something, it reminds me of a certain time or a certain family member or friend.”

Kate Moss reveals her favourite crystals after reinventing herself as wellness guru

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Moss’ favourite crystals are melonite and rose quartz.
The supermodel, who is set to turn 50 in January, has ditched her hard-partying ways and home in London for a country life in the Costwolds and life as a wellness guru under her Cosmoss brand.
She told The Sunday Times about her newfound love of crystals: “Melonite is really powerful. I had a piece of it but of course I lost it. I have to get one more.”
Melonite is believed to raise stamina, longevity and overall physical wellbeing, while rose quartz represents love and compassion.
Kate also admitted in her heyday she “didn’t give a s*** about what I used” as skincare – and “never” used to wear suncream.
But her Cosmoss beauty brand now sells day and night cream (for £95), as well as procollagen oil (£105) and face cleanser (£52.)
She launched it in August last year by posting a video of herself wild swimming naked.
Kate added: “Lots of brands think about the science and the ingredients. Cosmoss has all that but what I wanted was something that was actually going to ground you and connect you to the universe.”
Part of her practice of “connection to the universe: is wild swimming in a “secret place” used by locals near her new home – a grade II listed house near Little Faringdon, west Oxfordshire.
In the mornings she also practises transcendental meditation for 10 minutes and recites affirmations.
Her favourite mantras include: “Embrace the unknown.”
She also now does ashtanga yoga or reformer Pilates, and cooks Sunday lunches for her daughter Lila, 20.
Kate also said the secret to her newfound early nights is watching ‘Frasier’ once she’s in bed, adding: “It just puts me to sleep.”
