Betsey Johnson’s family take her clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Betsey Johnson’s family steal her clothes.
The 75-year-old fashion designer is known for her flamboyant sense of style and though she is trying to save as many of her old pieces as possible, she admits her vault isn’t as full as she’d like because her daughter and granddaughter are always borrowing things and never give them back.
She told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “I’m saving as much as I can. My daughter and granddaughter are in all my stuff. I never get my stuff back when they borrow them. I will be dead before that happens.”
Betsey picked up the Style Icon Award at the 21st annual ACE Awards on Monday (07.08.17) and is relieved to no longer be considered a “joke”.
She said: “Me . . . A Style Icon award?! What is so amazing is that after 55 years [in the fashion industry] I am not the joke anymore.”
Betsey turned 75 on Thursday (10.08.17) and admitted earlier this week she was “frightened” about celebrating the milestone birthday.
She said: “I’m not celebrating birthdays too much anymore. I’ll celebrate something else … 70 was okay, 71 … but 75 is frightening.”
And the US designer admitted she doesn’t feel like a fashion icon because these days she is a “comfortable slob”.
She told the New York Daily News newspaper: “I’m living in Malibu now, so it’s usually the same T-shirt.
“I am such a comfortable slob. I never dress fashion. I never wear anything but flip flops, a big T-shirt — usually Bowie or rock ‘n’ roll and my lipstick.
“I don’t even wear all that make-up s**t anymore. Just fake eyelashes.”

Jessica Biel eats clean

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Biel insists she doesn’t do anything “super special” with her diet.
The ‘Sinner’ actress tries to stick to a “really clean” eating regime, but she isn’t afraid to pig out when she has a “cheat” day.
She said: “I don’t really do anything super special with my diet. I try to eat really clean… fruits and vegetables, fish, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I like my cheat days and I go BIG.”
And in order to stay in shape, the 35-year-old beauty likes to do online exercise classes.
Speaking during a Reddit AMA with fans, she explained: “Daily routine… I go back and forth between yoga and circuit training.
“There’s a website called www.yogaglo.com – it’s basically like a monthly membership thing where you have access. You can do it all, anytime, anywhere. I’m not affiliated with them AT ALL, just think they’re a really good resource.”
Jessica tries her best to get her two-year-old son Silas – who she has with husband Justin Timberlake – to eat healthily, but often has to resort to “hiding” vegetables in foods he likes.
Asked for tips on getting youngsters to eat vegetables, she replied: “YES, hide ’em! I hide vegetables in eggs, quiche, stews soups, smoothies…. I hide vegetables everywhere I possibly can. (sic)”
And while the brunette beauty tries to eat well, she admits one of the reasons why she loves to travel so much is the opportunities it gives her to try new foods.
She said: “I think my favourite hobby of all time is travelling and going to places I’ve never been before… getting out of my comfort zone and doing all kinds of crazy treks… and yeah, basically eating my way all over the world.”

Jennifer Lawrence praises Maria Grazia Chiuri

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lawrence thinks Maria Grazia Chiuri is “awesome”.
The ‘Mother!’ actress has been a face of Dior since 2012 and she is excited by the appointment of the former Valentino boss as the label’s artistic director because she loves her “cool and young” creations.
Jennifer gushed in the new interview of America’s Vogue magazine: “The new stuff has been really amazing, cool and young. She’s awesome.”
Jennifer isn’t the only famous face who is a big fan of Maria’s work, as Miranda Kerr was elated to have the designer create her wedding gown when she tied the knot with Evan Spiegel in June.
Speaking recently about her 1950s-inspired dress, she said: “Honestly, I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful wedding dress. When I was young, my grandmother told me, ‘Miranda, men are very visual. It’s important to look good.’ I was like, ‘OK, Nan.’ ”
Regardless of the changes in the fashion industry in the modern world, Maria recently admitted she believes it is important to keep “luxury” at the heart of Dior.
She said: “Luxury fashion houses need to maintain a code of quality, craftsmanship and knowledge.
“Luxury is not necessarily expensive. Luxury for me is something to take care of, so of course with couture it’s one of a kind, but it’s not expensive because it’s just expensive, it’s expensive because you need many hours to produce a dress with many women who work on it for hours every day – but luxury can also be a T-shirt, when it is made with expertise and the best cut.
“Luxury is not only clothes with price but also value and the human touch. Luxury is when you can feel the creativity.”

Khloé Kardashian’s special denim hangers

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloé Kardashian has special hangers just for her jeans.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star has confessed to using a particular clothes hanger to keep her denim organised and in top shape.
She wrote on her official app: “I have A LOT of denim these days – so, honey, you KNOW I have an elaborate system for keeping it organized in tip-top Khlo-C-D shape! It can be tricky to keep your jeans neat and accessible. No. 1 enemy? Folded stacks of jeans. Closet MVP? Chrome Slack Hangers.
“Hanging my jeans (rather than folding them) allows me to pull out a pair without f***ing up the PERFECT system I’ve got going on, LOL. Slack hangers allow you to see the full leg and waistband of your jeans, so you basically know what everything is without having to pull it all out. These slim chrome hangers are also genius for space saving (sic)”
Khloe also makes sure to colour code all her denim and keep it in the right sections so she knows where to look for what she needs for the day.
She added: “Colour coding is essential. I separate my white denim from my black denim and separate THAT from my denim denim (lol), which is organized from light wash to dark wash. Everything has got to have a system! (sic)”
Meanwhile, Khloé previously revealed she never used to wear denim “at all”.
Speaking about her wardrobe choices, the golden-haired beauty said: “I never considered myself fat but when I used to shop with my sisters I was always really shamed and shunned by [sales assistants] who would say, ‘We don’t carry that size here’. I was always so embarrassed, so for a long time I didn’t wear denim at all. I kept getting angrier. They said they didn’t dress people my size. It’s shocking.”

Janet Jackson loses more than 65 pounds

OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Jackson has “lost more than 65 pounds” during tour rehearsals.
The ‘That’s the Way Love Goes’ hitmaker has already ditched an impressive amount of weight following the birth of her son Eissa, now seven months, as she prepares to tour the world.
A source said: “[She’s been rehearsing] 15, 16 hours a day … It’s a grueling schedule but she is up to the task. She wants to blow the crowd away. She will be perfection like her brother, Michael. She’s all about the showmanship.
“She has lost more than 65 pounds and has her pre-baby body back and then some. It’s possible that she could lose another 10 pounds before the start of the tour.”
And the 51-year-old singer has now moved back to Los Angeles following her split from business magnate Wissam Al Mana.
The insider added to Entertainment Tonight: “She’s happy to be back in the states in L.A. where she learned about music and performing with her brothers, and it was important for her to give this experience to her son. She wants baby Eissa to know her family.”
It comes after it was revealed that Janet is planning on taking her son with her when she embarks on her ‘State of the World’ tour in the autumn.
A source said: “She will be in court to flesh out the dissolution of her marriage. Touring with baby Eissa could be a possible problem but she’s hoping it’s not. [Her brother Randy’s] her primary source of emotional support and may be the perfect guardian for her son while she’s on tour.”

Miranda Kerr exercises for 30 minutes every morning

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Kerr exercises for 30 minutes every morning.
The 34-year-old model believes in doing everything “in moderation”, and though she works out regularly and eats food in their “most natural state” she will also indulge in tasty treats “10 per cent” of the time.
Speaking about her healthy lifestyle and the secret to maintaining a slender frame, the brunette beauty said: “I eat foods in their most natural state. I do believe in moderation though and try to live by the 80 per cent fresh and healthy, 20 per cent indulgence rule.
“As for exercise, I start the day with at least 20 to 20 minutes of exercise.”
And the catwalk icon – who has six-year-old son Flynn with her former partner Orlando Bloom – enjoys taking part in yoga and pilates sessions, and will regularly undertake resistance training, as well as regular walks with her pet pooch Teddy.
She explained: “I like yoga, Pilates swimming, resistance training, skipping and walking our dog, Teddy.”
But the style icon has revealed she will alternate her fitness regime ahead of a photoshoot so she can target “specific” problem areas.
She added: “If I have a shoot coming up I target certain specific areas. I just try to keep active and walk as much as possible.”
Miranda – who co-founded her skincare brand Kora Organics in 2009 – has admitted the fashion and beauty industry is brutal as there is a “lot of rejection” in the business.
Speaking about the downfalls of her career, she said: “I work in an industry where there is a lot of rejection before success.”
But the Australian star has taught herself to be thick-skinned and not to take negative comments to heart.
She told Red magazine: “So I had to learn at a young age to believe in myself and try my best not to take it personally”.

Eva Longoria’s lifelong project

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria says it has been a “lifelong project” of hers to join the fashion industry.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star picked up the Style Ambassador award, presented to her by her longtime friend Robert Verdi, at the Accessories Council’s 21st Annual Excellence Awards and spoke of her hopes for her clothing collection going into the future.
Speaking at the event in New York City, she said: “I am so excited to receive this award because it’s a lifelong project of mine to be in the fashion industry. I’ve been sewing since the age of seven.
“I want to be modern yet classic, so it’s a constant balance in this ever-changing industry. It’s an exciting time for me and my brand, I’m honoured to receive this from such a prestigious organisation.”
However, Eva has confessed to experiencing her own fashion faux pas in the past including chunky platforms.
She added: “Remember when the chunky platforms were like the thing? I just cleaned out my closet and I’m like when the hell did I wear these?!
“Right now, I’m into the single platform. I’m really into a good tennis shoe. I’m Adidas-ed out and I have a bunch of other brands too, like Vince and James Pearse. They’re so fashionable!”
Meanwhile, Eva previously admitted she isn’t “very comfortable” wearing black clothes because she thinks they are “boring”.
She said: “I’m not very comfortable wearing black. I just think it’s boring, and I don’t feel beautiful in it. Your wardrobe can really enhance your emotions, good or bad … My daily uniform is probably jeans, a silk shirt, and some heels. And a blazer. Or a dress. I call the dresses ‘the onesies’ because you step in, zip it up, and go. There’s not a lot of overthinking and accessorising.”

Kylie Jenner’s main focus

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics collection is her “main focus”.
The ‘Life of Kylie’ star is keen to “build” her brand as much as possible and has some exciting plans ahead to develop her cosmetics company.
She said: “I’m still building [the brand] and that’s really my main focus. I wanna start my Kylie Cosmetics YouTube channel and just start doing more tutorials and really just focus on that. I mean I feel like I already spread myself so thin so I’m just trying to put more focus on my cosmetics, which is like my true passion and what I love to do.”
And the 19-year-old television personality promised fans there would be new collections on the way.
Asked if she has any more new products planned, she added to E! News: “Definitely a new collab, a lot of new stuff this fall and of course my holiday collections. That is what I’m working on right now.”
Meanwhile, Kylie previously confessed her “only passion” is make-up.
She said: “My passion has always been make-up. All I would do on YouTube when YouTube first came out was look at make-up tutorials and learn how to do my eyeshadow. I would be the only sixth grader in like, purple eyeshadow. It’s really my only passion.
“I’ve always known that [I loved cosmetics], but I don’t feel like I’ve realised the extent of it until I launched my own make-up line.”
And the brunette beauty wishes she could be more like her older sister Kendall Jenner, 21, as well as fellow models Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin who wear flawless outfits “every day”.
She explained: “I see Kendall [Jenner] and Bella [Hadid] and Hailey [Baldwin], and they’re just out here, like every day. They just put their outfits together and they’re made for this – which isn’t a bad thing. They look so good every day. Sometimes I wish I could do what they do. But that’s not me. I don’t want my picture taken. I don’t want people to see what outfit I’m wearing. Every time there’s paparazzi, I cover my face. I would love to wear this hoodie and my Heelys and sweats every day.
“The only reason why I keep it up a little bit is Kylie Cosmetics. But it’s like, so much pressure. I want to grow as a person the way I want to grow, and the path that I want to take.”

Shawn Mendes spent a ‘long time’ perfecting his fragrance

OHMYGOSSIP — Shawn Mendes spent a “long time” perfecting his fragrance.
The 19-year-old singer has recently launched his debut scent titled Shawn Mendes Signature, and the star has admitted he took his time creating the unisex product because he wanted to find a “happy medium”.
Speaking about his latest venture to PEOPLE, the ‘Stitches’ hitmaker said: “It took a long time. I had to find this happy medium.”
But the musician has no doubt his product will be a hit with his customers.
He explained: “For me personally, I have smelled some women’s perfume and said, ‘I would wear that’. I’m sure a lot of women will smell my cologne and be like, ‘Wow, that’s awesome. I would wear that too.’ I’ve always thought of it as [just] this is something that smells good.”
Shawn has revealed the cosmetic product was inspired by a cream he bought in Brazil, which had a “tropical” scent with a “musky” hint.
The Canadian star explained: “It was kind of tropical-smelling, but it wasn’t extremely fruity. It had this musky kind of smell to it. Everyone who walked by when I was wearing it really liked it, so I wanted to kind of base [my fragrance] off of that.
“I included [that scent of Maple] because I was hoping it would give it a homemade, Canadian smell.”
But Shawn’s recent project is not unusual as he has hinted creating his own fragrance has always been on his agenda because he used to run through his father Manuel’s cologne after he had sprayed it.
Speaking about his fragrance experiences when he was a child, he said: “When I was seven or eight my dad would spray cologne and I would run through it, because I could never spray it on myself. I would just choke to death!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West has teased she will be expanding her KKW Beauty range.
The 36-year-old television personality launched her eponymous make-up line earlier this year, and the raven-haired beauty has taken to social media to reveal she has been working on new products for her line, which she will unveil this month.
Alongside a photograph of the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ with influencer Desi Perking, which was shared on the KWK Beauty Instagram account, it read: “New product alert! @kimkardashian and @desiperkins on set today filming a tutorial using the NEW product from the #KKWBEAUTY line + Desi’s new product, both coming in August. Can you guess what our new product is? Stay tuned to find out (sic).”
The cosmetic company has also revealed a photograph of three models on set of a photoshoot for the brand’s upcoming merchandise.
An image of the trio it read: “On set with these beauties shooting our newest #KKWBEAUTYproduct. Coming soon! (sic).”
But Kim has kept the details of the forthcoming additions close to her chest.
And this is not the first time the reality star – who has 20-month-old son Saint and four-year-old daughter North with her husband Kanye West – has hinted more merchandise will be released in the label.
She said previously: “This is the start of many amazing products.”
The news Kim is developing her beauty collection comes as no surprise as celebrity make-up artist, Pat McGrath, has revealed the style icon is “obsessed” with make-up.
She said previously: “Kim is one of those rare girlfriends who is truly just as obsessed with make-up as I am.”
And Pat has admitted she has spent hours talking about cosmetic products with the mother of two, which sees them exchange beauty secrets with one another.
Pat added: “We can literally talk about products for hours! We share all our secrets.”

The Weeknd designs own collection for Puma

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd has designed his own collection for Puma.
The 27-year-old singer – whose full name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye – joined forces with the sportswear giant in November, but the musician has since taken his partnership further by creating a clothing line and footwear named the Parallel shoe, which will be available to buy later this month on August 24.
And the ‘Starboy’ hitmaker has revealed he was involved in “almost every aspect” of the creative process, although his main focus was on the “silhouette” of the line.
Speaking to Footwear News about his latest venture, the Canadian hunk – who is currently dating fellow singer Selena Gomez – said: “I was involved in almost every aspect, but I was most focused on the silhouette. With XO and Puma, we really collaborated and worked on making the best product possible.”
However, The Weeknd wants his creations to be entirely unique from any other design.
He explained: “Exclusivity is always important to me, and I will definitely do limited pieces and shoes with Puma. But for this first one, I’d love it to go to the masses.”
And The Weeknd would love nothing more than to see highly established figures, such as the former American President Barack Obama, in his trainers because he is desperate to be a part of “pop culture”.
He said: “To be honest, I just want to see everyone wearing it. I want it to be part of pop culture.”
And The Weeknd is in talks to work on more projects with the label in the future.
Puma’s Global Director of Brand and Marketing, Adam Petrick, said: “He’s stylish, but he’s also approachable. He’s relatable and has a look that can be worn by a lot of young men. It’s not over-the-top or unattainable.
“And we’re optimistic that this is going to be a long-term partnership and that we’ll have the opportunity to evolve with The Weeknd as he creatively evolves.”

Christopher Kane wants designers to inject ‘thrill’ back into fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Kane thinks designers need to inject a “thrill” back into fashion.
The 35-year-old fashion designer thinks it is down to him and fellow creative masterminds to “change perceptions” and to bring “newness” back into the business, because he doesn’t think there is any excitement in buying something that doesn’t stand out.
The Scottish mogul told Porter magazine: “If designers don’t go out there and change perceptions, then where it’s the newness? Where is the thrill in buying something and wearing it? We all need to put more of a thrill back into fashion.”
But Christopher – who founded his eponymous brand in 2006 – has hinted he has nothing to worry about as his garments are the “antithesis of a uniform” and unpredictable.
Speaking about his brand, which comes under the luxury group Kering, he said: “What we do is almost like the antithesis of a uniform. So many people are very prescriptive, but would you want to be so predictable in your clothing choices?”
Although the businessman thinks designers have to be innovative with their creations he also believes no one knows what “good or bad taste” truly is.
He explained: “I don’t think anyone knows what good or bad taste is.”
Christopher has revealed he joins forces with casting director Russell Marsh to scout “brilliant scruffy little models” in his runway shows instead of recognised catwalk icons.
When asked about his ideal representative, he said: “Those brilliant, scruffy little models
“She is a real person with real intentions and loads of character, whether she’s in a £175 T-shirt or a £10,000 dress.”
Meanwhile, the Central Saint Martin’s alumni is “very very ambitious” and constantly pushes himself to his limits, although he feels he is “killing” himself to come up with new ideas.
Speaking previously, he said: “I am ambitious.
“I’m not going to say I know everything. It’s a learning process. We learn every day. It’s only been 10 years, and hopefully in another 10 years I will know a bit more. I am very very ambitious, to the point where I can almost crush myself sometimes.
“But I just love what I do. I want people to know the brand for being brave and bold. It’s about a new chapter in femininity, a new woman.”

Marc Jacobs is ‘never aware’ what direction his fashion collection will take

OHMYGOSSIP — Marc Jacobs is “never aware” of the direction his fashion collection will go in when he is working on a new line.
The 54-year-old fashion designer has recently revealed his Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, which features Biz Markie, LL Cool J and Salt-N-Peppa in the campaign, and the mogul has admitted the “weird thing” with his creative process is that he doesn’t know what he is “actually feeling” when he is in the midst of designing a new range until he looks back over the development of his designs.
Speaking to InStyle.com, he said: “You asked me what excites me today. It’s this. I guess that’s the weird thing in the way that I am never aware of what it is that we’re actually feeling while working on a collection–but in retrospect, you see. The show worked, and it obviously struck a chord with people outside of our little design room who are feeling that too.
“We’re always working toward something, but we don’t really know what that is. It takes shape based on all of the things that are of interest, that feel good, sound good, look good. It’s just through the process that everything becomes distilled into what seems to be a story.”
The American star believes it is a “very weird time” in the fashion business because he feels “disconnected” to everything except for the Internet.
He explained: “It’s a very weird time. I feel disconnected, like I don’t see anything in this day other than the Internet as being a thing. I feel out of touch with what today really looks like. But that’s the thing.”
But it wasn’t until Marc rediscovered his love for gold jewellery, and watched Darby Wheeler’s documentary ‘Hip-Hop Evolution’ he felt inspired.
He said: “Watching it brought back that whole moment and how cool people looked, and I thought about people I knew back in those days–Debi Mazar and different people around New York–and how that style infiltrated their style in some way.
“You walk in here and see [music video director] Hype [Williams] and all this, and how happy people are, and it’s worth it.
“I was going to rock clubs, but I remember becoming aware of hip-hop and its influence on other music, of Blondie doing ‘Rapture,’ and the style of the way people looked. It felt so casual, but it was such a specific, decisive choice, like all of a sudden there was this sharpness that came out of casual clothes.”

Lily Collins says The Last Tycoon changed her taste in fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Collins’ styling for the ‘The Last Tycoon’ costumes has changed her taste in fashion.
The 28-year-old actress portrays Cecilia Brady in the TV series and the star has admitted working with stylist Janie Bryant on the production has opened her eyes as to other garments and colours that suit her, which she had previously avoided.
Speaking to WWD about how her wardrobe choices have changed, the ‘Love, Rosie’ star said: “Our fittings are so fun.
“I see things on the hanger and I’m, like, ‘I never knew that colour worked on me.'”
And the fashion icon has admitted she would never have picked to wear some of the products, but on trusting Janie she began to warm to her outfits.
She said: “It’s things you necessarily wouldn’t choose to wear, but once you put them on, you see why Janie is who Janie is. When someone loves their job that much, you can’t help but be infected by that passion.”
And the brunette beauty – who is the daughter of music icon Phil Collins – was particularly attracted to the gown she wore during a scene depicting the 1937 Academy Awards.
She explained: “Janie gets to throw lots of different things on me. My Oscar dress is pretty amazing. It’s a lilac silk tiered number in the back with this amazing sequined capelet.”
And Lily is not the only one who enjoyed the styling process, as Janie – who previously worked on ‘Mad Men’ – liked experimenting with the colour palette of the outfits for the cast to complement the era.
The fashion guru explained:”The cuts, the parts of the body that are accentuated, the colour palette. The ’30s is about being very soft and dusty, and silk charmeuse-y. Really, it is about the facade of Hollywood that the studios created, and all of the glamour that entails.”

Ashley Graham thinks she’s the ideal candidate to launch a plus-size lingerie line

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham felt she was the ideal candidate to launch a plus-size lingerie line.
The 29-year-old model teamed up with the fashion house Lane Bryant in 2010 because she “really wanted” to create an underwear collection and felt her fans would expect her to front the campaigns and design the garments.
Speaking to New York magazine about her career, the brunette beauty said: “Then I really wanted to design lingerie because I felt, ‘I’m the plus-size lingerie girl. If people think about plus-size lingerie, they’re going to think of me. How can I capitalize on that?’ ”
But the fashion icon has revealed she has constantly been told she will never be a successful model, be a cover girl, and is “not good enough” for the industry.
Speaking about the naysayers, she said: “I was with an agent who told me, ‘You’re not a cover girl,’ and I took that as, ‘Okay, he’s right’. Then I went to an agency [IMG] that said, ‘Why aren’t you?’
“It’s like, ‘Plus what?’ That’s something I’ve always been told: ‘You’re not good enough because you’re plus-size.’ I’m not here to ban the word from the dictionary.”
And it wasn’t until the Nebraska-born became the first plus-size model to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue in 2015 she realised her potential and felt it was a platform for her to “conquer the world”.
She explained: “It was an eye-opening experience for me in that ‘Oh my God, I can do anything I want.’ When you’re given an SI cover and you take advantage of it, you can conquer the world. Look at Chrissy Teigen. Look at Tyra Banks. Look at Kathy Ireland. She’s a mogul in this industry now.”
And Ashley is happy to take “the brunt work” and face any backlash surrounding curvier models who want a career in the fashion business to inspire the future generation for women.
She said: “This is the thing: I know I’m paving the way for the next generation of girls, and they’re not going to have to do this. That’s what I hope. I’ll take the brunt work and just handle it, and then you guys can just sail right on through.”

James Bay is ‘part designer’

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay is “part designer”.
The 26-year-old singer has teamed up with Topman to create a 13-piece collection, and the star is glad he can add another string to his bow after coming up with the designs in the capsule.
Speaking about his latest venture to Metro newspaper, the ‘Hold Back the River’ hitmaker said: “A lot of these clothes are based on me putting pen to paper and sketching, so I am part designer.”
The dark-haired musician has also included a head piece in the line because the garment has become part of his “identity”.
And he thinks it is “cool” his signature look has helped him get recognised in the “first stage of [his] career”.
He added: “It’s been cool the way it’s been an identity during the first stage of my career.
And the musician has hinted iconic music legends, including the late Michael Jackson, David Bowie inspired him to have his “own version” of a trademark look.
He explained: “There was a time when Michael Jackson didn’t wear a hat. There was a time when Bowie didn’t wear an eye patch or have a ginger mullet. I thought I could have my own version.
“I was listening to The Stones, The Faces and David Bowie when I was 15.
“Bands like The Kooks were dressing like the bands I was listening to. That’s what I based my look on.”
And James is set for a busy year ahead as he hopes his new tracks will “eclipse” his 2015 album ‘Chaos and the Calm’.
speaking previously, he said: “I want the next album to eclipse everything the first album did. I’m really excited about the music that I’m making.”
