Gigi Hadid kept make-up line a secret from family

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid had to keep the details of her Maybelline make-up range a secret from her family.
The 22-year-old model recently launched her beauty line with the cosmetics giant, and the star has revealed no one knew about the project, not even her sister Bella Hadid, 21, only Maybelline New York’s Global Make-up Artist Erin Parsons, although she “wished” she could have announced the news sooner.
Speaking about the top-secret venture to PEOPLE, the blonde beauty said: “When I landed in London on the tour for my Tommy Hilfiger line [in September], we had to go straight to a radio show. We had to pretty much do hair and makeup for the show in the tiniest bathroom you’ve ever seen. Erin did my make-up with the Jetsetter palette but she couldn’t say it because it wasn’t announced yet. We were talking about it after – how she wished she could tell people what we used.”
But the catwalk icon has revealed she had “the most fun” making the line because she knew exactly what products she wanted to include in the collection, which is split into two categories East Coast Glam inspired by New York City, and West Coast Glow that is influenced by the California beach vibe.
She continued: “What was the most fun was that I knew what I wanted to do from the get-go and Maybelline was so supportive of me making products I couldn’t always find shopping for myself.
“I wanted to make a collection [with products] that are easy to use, easy to put on and [can create] looks that work from day to night just by adding a lip or liner at the end of the day.
“I travel [so much] for work and I never want to pack and unpack my makeup bag all the time. I look up to girls who can wake up in the morning and do a full face of makeup and look amazing. But I just can’t put on all that makeup and make it look good.”
And Gigi has revealed not only are her collections inspired by various hotspots in America, but also by her friends.
She added: “There are lipstick colours that are inspired by my friends and named after them.”

Jennifer Aniston’s beauty ‘pet peeve’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Aniston’s “pet peeve” is having someone else’s fragrance rub off on her.
The 48-year-old actress – who created her first scent in 2011 – has recently released her latest fragrance titled Chapter One, and the star has admitted there is nothing worse than entering a confined space and coming out “loaded with some really horrible scent”.
She explained: “No one wants to go into an elevator and then walk out smelling like someone else! That’s something I have a pet peeve about: Someone giving you a hug and they’re loaded with some really horrible scent and you’re just like, ‘Oh now I smell like that person for the rest of the day!’ I hate that.”
And the ‘Friends’ star has revealed her husband Justin Theroux, 46, had no involvement in her latest venture because beauty is “not his department”.
Speaking about her recent creation, the brunette beauty said: “He’s not involved in this whatsoever. This is not his department.
“It’s a feminine mix of florals, citrus and woodsy notes that is captivating and chic but still approachable.”
And Jennifer has admitted she has no plans to expand her cosmetics range and launch an after-shave capsule because she is “not big” on men’s cologne.
When asked about the possibility of creating a male beauty collection to PEOPLE, the ‘Just Go With It’ star said: “I’m not big on it.
“I’ve probably got PTSD from cab rides in New York City that ended in pure suffocation.”
And to make sure Jennifer does not feel “overwhelmed” by perfume she will spray her perfume in the air and run through the midst.
Speaking previously about her method of applying the product, she said: “I usually also love to spray it in the air and run through it, so you have a hint of it, but you’re not overwhelmed by it.”

Kate Mara wants to ‘chop’ off all her hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Mara is desperate to “chop” off all of her hair.
The 34-year-old actress has admitted has only ever drastically changed her hairstyle for a movie role, and because she is “obsessed” with short hair at the moment she is keen to hack off her locks, but she won’t be able to carry out the extreme makeover any time soon because of her job.
Speaking to E! News, she said: “Every time I’ve done something to my hair it’s for a role. Forever, I had hair down to my a**. It had never been dyed before. Everyone was like ‘We love the fact you have this hippie-like long hair’…Now, I’m obsessed with short hair. Right now, I feel like I’m dying to chop it all off, but I can’t for work reasons. I think it’s fun. The season is changing and we’re always shifting…You’re hair is such a big part of expressing yourself.
“Beyond. I’ve been growing it out now, because I didn’t know what I was going to be working on, but I had a feeling that I was going to playing somebody that was going to have long hair.”
And the ‘Fantastic Four’ star has admitted she “hates” having hair extensions, and putting in false hair pieces is “torture” for her.
She said: “I hate having extensions. It’s like torture to me, so I’m growing it out naturally, but still looking for any reason to chop it off.”
Kate has revealed her beauty routine is “really simple”, and she had carried out the same regime “every single day”.
She explained: “I do the same thing every single day and night. It’s really simple. When I wake up in the morning, all I do, besides rinse my face off, is put on moisturizer. I can’t leave the house without doing that. And, I always put on an SPF after that, because we are in California and my skin is so fair. That’s it.
“When I’m not working, I just do my best to keep it really simple. It’s better for your skin that way.
“My make-up bag is really simple.
“I’ve been using the same makeup remover towelettes for ever – like fifteen years now. They’re Ponds. I use that religiously. I also use Koh Gen Do…It feels like you’re just using water. You don’t have to scrub to get the mascara or eyeliner.”
But Kate will experiment more with her style for a red carpet event.
She said: “Unless I’m on a red carpet, and want to do a really bold lip, day-to-day, I like really natural lip colour.
“Fall is my favourite time of the year, because of the colours. I’m obsessed with oranges, browns and golds. I have natural auburn, red hair. I think those colours are complimentary to the red hair.”

David Hasselhoff’s fitness struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — David Hasselhoff says his age makes it harder for him to work out.
The 65-year-old actor has admitted he goes to the gym “every second or third day” or “every other day”, but he needs some time out after exercising to let his body recover, although he finds it “hard” to not train as often as he would like.
Speaking to Metro newspaper about his fitness plan, the ‘Baywatch’ star said: “I just go to the gym every second or third day. Every other day. If you get to be my age, it’s sometimes best to wait two days and that’s hard for me. I don’t like to do that.”
However, the businessman believes it is “a lot easier” to stay in shape than it is to “get in shape”.
He said: “It’s also a lot easier to stay in shape than it is to get in shape.
“Subtle maintenance is not hard but getting there is really hard. So if you’re going to do it, just know the first six weeks is going to be tough. After that its pretty damn easy.”
Meanwhile, David has revealed he is “in talks” to bring back the popular American television series ‘Knight Rider’, which aired in 1982 for four years.
He said: “we’re in talks right now about maybe bringing ‘Knight Rider’ back. I’m totally amazed every day, to the point where sometimes I can’t go out. It’s just nuts. It’s nuts even going to the market in Calabasas or Lake Sherwood [near Los Angeles], where the superstars live. I go to the gate and they want my autograph. They call me the true survivor.”

Camilla Belle ‘s beauty essentials

OHMYGOSSIP — Camilla Belle thinks an eyelash curler is “more important” than mascara.
The 31-year-old actress has admitted she doesn’t wear a lot of make-up but when she does she likes to “play up” her eyes, and she relies on the cosmetic tool for longer looking lashes rather than a sleek of volume-enhancing mascara, and a “light pencil” over her eyebrows.
Speaking about her beauty hacks to Us Weekly, the brunette beauty said: “I like to play up my eyes more than anything. But normally day-to-day I don’t wear a lot of makeup at all. Maybe just a light pencil. And curl the lashes — it’s more important than mascara!”
And the ‘Sundown’ star has thanked her “DNA” and her mother Cristina Routh’s family for her bold eyebrows, although she has claimed the area needs “maintenance” to look good.
She explained: “Those don’t go away. The trick is DNA, thanks to Mom’s side of the family. But also maintenance. It’s about having a good brow gel and brush, and making sure you’re shellacking them into place. There’s one make-up artist that I worked for a long time, Brett Freedman, and he made a great brow product. I use it on a daily basis. I have the brush and the gel.”
The star has revealed she likes to opt for more natural-looking make-up and a simple hair do, which is usually a “slick bun”, because she dislikes the “pomp and circumstance” surrounding a person’s appearance.
She said: “A little perfume, eye makeup, a slick bun and I’m ready! I grew up dancing ballet, so a little slick bun look is very classic and elegant.
“I do [like simple look] because that’s not me. I’m not someone who loves all this pomp and circumstance. I say, ‘This is who I am, so you’d better like it. If you don’t, too bad.'”

Michael Kors: ‘I grew up in a family of fashionistas’

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Kors grew up around a “family of fashionistas”.
The 58-year-old fashion designer – who founded his eponymous label in 1981 – has admitted a career at the helm of the fashion business was inevitable for him as most of his relatives were “obsessed with clothes” and involved in the industry in one way or another.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’ about his upbringing and what influenced him, the creative mastermind said: “I grew up in a family of fashionistas. My mom modelled, my grandfather was in the textile business, I had an uncle who was a manufacturer everyone was just obsessed with clothes.”
And Michael believes his career happened because he was in the “right place at the right time” as he used to design garments for a New York boutique where celebrities shopped.
He explained: “We were just in the right place at the right time. So everyone from Goldie Hawn to Diana Ross to Jackie Kennedy, they were all clients.”
The mogul hasn’t only worked with Goldie Hawn, but he has also partnered with the 71-year-old actresses daughter, Kate Hudson, on various projects over the years, including his latest philanthropic venture the Watch Hunger Stop campaign in support of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
And Michael is honoured to have joined forces with the 38-year-old star on the campaign, which encourages people to take a photograph of them wearing a t-shirt he designed with the emblem #WatchHungerStop for the organisation that leads to 50 meals being donated to those in need.
Speaking about his charity work, which saw him and the ‘Almost Famous’ beauty jet to Cambodia with WFP to see the impact of their project, Michael said: “In this instance, every time you post something, we’re donating 50 meals.
“I knew she’d be so great to be someone we can partner with in getting the message out there and she’s been remarkable.”

Jennifer Aniston’s Chapter One inspired by her ‘younger years’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Aniston’s new fragrance was inspired by her “younger years”.
The 48-year-old actress has recently released her newest scent Jennifer Aniston Chapter One, and the ‘Friends’ star – who portrayed Rachel Green in the popular sitcom – has revealed her mother Nancy Dow’s perfumes influenced the tear-drop shape of the glass bottle.
Speaking to PEOPLE about her latest beauty venture, the style icon said: “It’s a feminine mix of florals, citrus and woodsy notes that is captivating and chic but still approachable. The teardrop-shape was inspired by my younger years seeing my mother’s perfume bottles on her vanity.”
The ‘We’re The Millers’ star has revealed when she was younger she used to “pound” make-up on her face, but she has since changed her ways and believes beauty is not about a person’s exterior appearance.
She explained: “There were years when I was pounding makeup on like it was going out of style. But I’ve figured out that beauty to me is not about hair and makeup as much as it is about how I’m feeling inside and the place I’m at in my life.”
But that’s not to say Jennifer avoids cosmetic products, as she has revealed she relies on a “soft pink” nail polish, and swears by Charlotte Tilbury’s make-up.
Speaking about her beauty must-haves, the brunette beauty said: “I like to stick to a buffed look, but if I am going to wear nail polish, it’ll be a soft pink colour like this [Essie nail polish in Mademoiselle].
“[Charlotte Tilbury Penelope Pink K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick] I love this shade!
“I go between these two tubes [of Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara and Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara].
“I like to mix these [Pot Rouge] cream-blush colours by Bobbi Brown.”
And Jennifer has revealed her “new favourite” haircare product is Unite 7Seconds Detangler, because it “eliminates any frizz”.
She said: “My hairstylist Chris McMillan drops off all kinds of products for me to test. This is a new favourite – I can just let my hair air-dry, and it will eliminate any frizz.”

Kate Hudson works out to ‘improve’ mood

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson exercises to “improve” her mood.
The 38-year-old actress – who has co-founded her own fitness label Fabletics – has admitted she not only works out and meditates to stay fit and healthy but to also keep her feeling positive, and her favourite time of yoga is “transcendental meditation” because it is “so simple and quiet”.
Speaking about her work out to Net-A-Porter’s The Edit, the ‘Fools Gold’ star said: “Contentment takes discipline.
“Exercise and meditation improve our moods and keep us healthy. So that’s what I do. I’ve tried all kinds of yoga, but transcendental meditation is the one I always go back to. It’s so simple and quiet.”
Although Kate – who has sons Ryan, 13, with her former partner Chris Robinson, and Bingham, six, with her previous lover Matt Bellamy – has admitted her “extroverted nature” leads people to believe she is perky all the time, but the American beauty has admitted she isn’t as positive as she seems, and she would be a “crazy person” if she was “happy all the time”.
She explained: “I’d be a crazy person if I was happy all the time. Maybe my extroverted nature makes people think I am. And I do love life. But I’ve had times in my life that were intensely not coming from a happy place.”
And the ‘Almost Famous’ star has revealed despite having a busy work schedule, she does her best to make time for her friends.
Kate – who is the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn – said: “Celebrating your tribe. I’m a real believer in celebration.
“My whole personality is to be at the center of maintaining groups and friends.”

Irina Shayk’s underwear secrets

OHMYGOSSIP — Irina Shayk says lingerie is her “second skin”.
The 31-year-old model – who was announced as the face of the underwear brand Intimissimi in 2007 – has admitted she wears flattering undergarments to make herself feel good about her body and “comfortable”, rather than to please her partner Bradley Cooper, with who she has six-month-old daughter Lea with.
Speaking to Us Weekly about her wardrobe choices, the brunette beauty said: “Don’t wear it for a man. My lingerie is for me and I have to feel it like it’s my second skin and have to be comfortable, so definitely wear it for yourself, and just love your body.”
And the catwalk icon has revealed she doesn’t like to spend “tonnes of money” on her underwear, and has even kept hold of bras she wore “10 years ago” because she just refuses to get rid of it.
She said: “I am Russian, I don’t like to spend tonnes of money for lingerie and I think you don’t have to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a bra. I’d rather buy five bras and spend the same amount of money for one bra.
“Intimissimi is known for very good quality. I still have my first bra that I got 10 years ago from them and still wearing it … it’s time to get rid of it, but I can’t!”
Irina has admitted she has “these things coming out” over the top of the back of her bra strap, which she believes is due to her love of food, and she has advised people to wear garments that fit will and do not push you your chest “to your throat”.
She said: “Do you think when I close my bra, I don’t have these things coming out a little bit on the sides? I do! I’m a human and I love to eat, so just pick the right size, feel comfortable and don’t do too much push up. Don’t push your boobs up to your throat.”

Claudia Schiffer on the fashion industry

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Schiffer says the fashion industry is “not real life.”
The 47-year-old supermodel – who was first signed to Metropolitan Model Agency aged 17 – has hailed herself as a “realistic person” and she has admitted over the years she has come to learn that although the moments in fashion are “amazing” they are not a true reflection of the real world.
Speaking to Vogue.com about the industry, the German beauty said: “I’m a quite logical and realistic person and over the years I’ve learned that these moments in fashion are amazing but they are short and they’re not real life.”
And the catwalk icon has vowed to “only” work with companies on projects she “loves”, which is why she “dips [her] toes in and out” of the business.
She explained: “Many years ago, I made the decision that I’m very happy with what I have – I’m very lucky – so I only want to work with companies and products I love. . . and [on projects that are] special. . . . I sort of dip my toes in and out [of fashion].”
And Claudia – who has daughters Clementine, 12, Cosima, seven, and 14-year-old son Caspar with her husband Matthew Vaughn – believes the fashion business has drastically changed over the years and is much “more difficult” to be a supermodel than ever before.
She said: “In the beginning, I wanted to establish who I was, not be compared to other people.
“People keep asking me, ‘What was it exactly [about the Supermodel era]? What is the recipe?’ All I can say [is that we] were all very different and we all had completely different career paths, so there was not a recipe, but there was a massive movement going on in fashion, and really big changes.
“I think what’s really different nowadays is the much faster pace. It makes it more difficult; I’ve read some interviews where models are described as ‘supermodel of the moment.’ You have to work so much harder, I think, in comparison.”

Carla Bruni: ‘Fashion is not so dangerous for young girls’

OHMYGOSSIP — Carla Bruni believes the fashion industry is “not so dangerous” for women.
The 49-year-old model has acknowledged there are “dreadful people” in the fashion and beauty business as there is “everywhere else”, but she believes the difference is that people “don’t want to abuse” models.
Speaking to InStyle Online in the wake of sexual harassment allegations made against Harvey Weinstein, the catwalk icon said: “Of course, you have dreadful people in fashion like everywhere else but fashion is not so dangerous for young girls.
“There’s a lot of work, there’s a lot of travelling, and you need to have a lot of discipline. I would say that it’s one of the places in show business that is safe.
“People don’t want to abuse girls – they want to photograph them. It’s a healthy environment.”
And the style muse – who recently returned to the runway alongside fellow supermodels Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford for Versace’s latest catwalk show – has admitted she has “never” been sexually harassed by a “photographer or designer” during her 30 years at the helm of the fashion industry.
The former First Lady of France continued: “That doesn’t happen in fashion
“I never had a photographer or designer do that, never ever.”
“Most agents are protecting girls because they have to work. And there are a lot of women in fashion – women rarely go into that kind of abuse. That keeps it safe for young models.”
Carla’s comments come in the wake of the sexual harassment claims made against the 65-year-old disgraced film producer, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a number of women over a 30 year period including Cara Delevingne, Rose McGowan, Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Beckinsale.
However, fellow supermodel Christy Turlington disagrees with Carla’s comments as she has previously claimed the fashion industry is rife with sexual misconduct.
Speaking previously, the 48-year-old icon said: “I can say that harassment and mistreatment have always been widely known and tolerated in the industry. The industry is surrounded by predators who thrive on the constant rejection and loneliness so many of us have experienced at some point in our careers. I feel fortunate that I did not personally experience anything traumatic, but also know that is not the norm.”

Elizabeth Olsen’s fashion highlights

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Olsen’s “first fashion moment” was when she wore sisters’ Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s designs to Cannes Film festival.
The 28-year-old actress has hailed her 31-year-old siblings as her “style icon” as she grew up wearing their clothes, and the star has even credited the fashion designer twins – who co-founded labels The Row and Elizabeth and James – for styling her ahead of her ‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’ photo call in France in 2011, which marked the fashion highlight of her career.
Speaking about the event, the ‘Captain America; Civil War’ star said: “I grew up wearing my sisters’ clothes, so it’s easy for me to say they’re my style icons. They’ve taught me that classic pieces are an amazing investment.
“I was in Cannes to promote Martha Marcy May Marlene, and it was only my second film festival ever. For the photo call, I wore a white lace top and a skirt from my sisters. I didn’t have a stylist or anything yet, and I didn’t know what to do. So I was just like, ‘Can you give me something?’ I didn’t understand Cannes or the fact that it was a special fashion event where designers would be happy to dress you. It was my first movie that ever came out. So I just wore a white look from The Row for the photo call, and that’s the first fashion moment I remember having while working.”
And the style icon has admitted she is so proud of Mary Kate and Ashley’s career and the launch of their beauty line, although she forgets she was the inspiration behind the label Elizabeth and James.
She continued: “I get excited anytime someone wears or mentions anything about Elizabeth and James or The Row. Whenever anyone I love has something that penetrates beyond their inner circle of friends or supportive community, I get excited. So I love that both of my sisters’ brands are doing well. I think it’s cool that Elizabeth and James has expanded into perfumes and hair products, too. But I literally never even think of myself as an association with the brand.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ star has admitted she struggles to walk in high heels because the platform shoes give her “foot cramps”.
She told InStyle magazine: “I like a classic silhouette, and heels don’t work that well for me because I always have foot cramps. I wear Louboutin kitten heels a lot, which are sweet. My black Manolo Blahnik pumps are the most comfortable heels I own. I really like a simple shoe, so sometimes it’s hard to convince me to be more playful.”

Solange Knowles hails hair salon as ‘safe haven’

OHMYGOSSIP — Solange Knowles says the hair salon is her “safe haven”.
The 31-year-old singer has admitted after a trip to the beauticians she feels “completely transformed”, and when she was younger being involved in the “sisterhood” of the salon’s environment she felt protected.
Speaking to ES magazine about the pampering parlour, the ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’ hitmaker said: “I got to experience women arriving in one state of mind and leaving in a completely transformed way. It wasn’t just about the hair. It was about the sisterhood and the storytelling. Being a young girl who was really active in dance, theatre and on the swim team, the salon was a kind of safe haven.”
And Solange – who is the younger sister of Beyoncé Knowles – has admitted having her hair braided is an “act of beauty”.
The brunette beauty said: “[It is] an act of beauty, an act of convenience and an act of tradition … it is its own art form.”
Solange – who married husband Alan Ferguson in 2014 – has admitted she has really tried to “own [her] body” this year, because she has “lost opportunities” because she hasn’t asserted control over herself.
She explained: “To be honest, owning my body this year was really important to me. That can mean a lot of things. That can be in the physical form — wanting to have control over my physical body — and also wanting to have control in the way it is presented to the world. And it isn’t always easy. I often lose opportunities based on my will to want to navigate through that ownership of my body in the most authentic way. And I really kind of attained a lot of that from my mother.”

Speaking to Hello! magazine about the beauty overhaul, the DJ said: “My hair will grow back and what’s been cut off is going to make kids whose hair isn’t growing right now. If I make one kid smile by adding to a wig that they are wearing then that makes me so happy.
“My hair has never been as short as this in my adult life. I’ve had it a couple of inches longer, but never this short.”
And the style icon – who is the daughter of Simon and Yasmin Le Bon – has adjusted to her new do well, and she has admitted she “really enjoys” the new cropped style and doesn’t think it is drastically different from her previous look.
She continued: “I really enjoy it and I don’t think it’s too different. I’m not worried about it. It’s fun, it feels bouncy and it’s nice to have a change and do something different.”
And the star has even encouraged other people to take the chop, because hair will grow back and it is for a good cause.
When asked what advice she would give to someone contemplating cutting their hair, she said: “I would say, ‘Hair grows – and if you don’t like it, it will grow back.’ It’s an amazing charity and it makes kids smile, which I think is a good thing in the world.”

John Legend’s ‘rock star’ style

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend thinks his style is “pretty understated” but with “flashes of rock star”.
The 38-year-old singer doesn’t think his fashion sense has drastically changed over the years, and he has revealed he likes “classic” garments with “occasional flashes of flamboyance”.
Speaking about his wardrobe choices to Yahoo Lifestyle, the ‘All Of Me’ hitmaker said: “Obviously, I can afford better clothes now. I don’t think my style is actually that different. For me, I’m still pretty understated with some flashes of rock star. I like a lot of classic things — well-tailored, nice pieces — and occasional flashes of flamboyance.”
And the artist has revealed he and his wife Chrissy Teigen – who have 18-month-old daughter Luna together – “like” each other’s fashion choices.
He continued: “She knows who I am, and I know who she is, and we both like each other’s style a lot.”
However, there are times when the couple – who tied the knot in 2013 – dislike a “specific thing” the other one wears, which they will openly admit, although it rarely happens.
John added: “Occasionally, it’s a specific thing — either I won’t like something she’s wearing or she won’t like what I’m wearing – we’ll say it. But it doesn’t happen that often.”
Meanwhile John has admitted him and his partner would love to expand their brood and have “three to four” children.
Speaking about his future family plans, the ‘Love Me Now’ singer said: “We want to have kids again soon. We want to have several kids, total. But we’ll try to do one at a time. We’ll have another one soon.
“I would say three to four.”
And John has hinted he won’t put any pressure on Luna to follow in his musical footsteps, although he has revealed the tiny tot “loves” music already.
He said: “She loves music, but who knows what her career will be. We’re trying to just let her explore and learn. She’s got plenty of time to figure out that.”
