Elsa Hosk’s Victoria’s Secret outfit is made of 275,000 crystals

OHMYGOSSIP — Elsa Hosk’s Victoria’s Secret outfit is made of 275,000 crystals.
The 29-year-old model – who acquired her angel wings in 2015 – is set to don an extravagant underwear set made with almost three hundred thousand Swarovski crystals, to celebrate the fashion brand’s 15 year partnership with Swarovski, when she struts down the runway in the lingerie giant’s annual fashion show in Shanghai, China, on November 28.
And the red bra and knicker ensemble the blonde-haired beauty will wear also features hand-beaded jewellery, embellished long sleeves, 200 yards of ribbon, and wings that weigh over 14 lbs in weight, which makes it the “heaviest” structure any catwalk icon has ever worn.
Speaking about the garment to WWD executive vice president, brand communications and events at Victoria’s Secret, Monica Mitro, said: “It is one of the heaviest wings we have ever made.”
But the creativity of the highly coveted pieces does not stop there as the outfit Elsa will wear, which has been crafted by Parisian couturier Serkan Cura, will be paired with feathered sandals.
Elsa has admitted she “can’t wait” to hit the runway because she is “so excited” to wear the Swarovski crystal laden outfit.
She said: “When I found out I was wearing the Swarovski look I was so excited as I’ve always wanted to wear it. I can’t wait to walk down the runway in it.”
But Elsa is not the only star set to wear a showstopping attire, as fellow model Lais Ribeiro will wow onlookers in the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra, which is worth over $2 million and is encrusted with diamonds, yellow sapphires, blue topaz in 18 karat gold.
The lingerie, which was designed by jeweller Mouawad, boasts over six thousand gemstones, and took almost 350 hours to perfect.
Lais, 27, announced on social media earlier this month she has been granted the greatest honour to wear the centrepiece.
Speaking previously, she said: “I’ve been holding this secret for too long and I am beyond honoured to announce that I will be wearing the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra this year! I am very happy and thankful for my Victoria’s Secret family for trusting me and all the support from my own family, friends and fans! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! its official!! (sic).”

Alexa Chung doesn’t ‘love fashion’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung doesn’t “love fashion”, but she “likes clothes”.
The 34-year-old model has admitted she is “very serious about collecting clothes”, but she is “not sure” whether she is as passionate about the industry, which she calls “fash-wahn”, because she thinks the business is “all about image”.
Speaking to Chelsea Handler in an interview with Refinery29, the brunette beauty said: “I obviously like clothes a lot. I’m not sure that I love fashion. We actually called it ‘fash-wahn’ in my office when things get too ‘fash-wahn.’ I’m very serious about collecting clothes. But I’m probably not that serious about fashion as an industry.
“Fashion is all about image. And obviously, you have to be a bit po-faced if you’re wearing fluffy slippers and a huge feather hat — otherwise they’re just going to laugh you out of the room because you look like ‘Zoolander’. But it’s all an act.”
But the style icon has admitted her interest in fashion is also a “curse” because she ends up with a “weird mishmash” of items from different seasons sprawled across her home.
She said: “I was just saying to someone: Wherever I go on the planet, there’s always a fucking pile of clothes that follows me around. I can’t be bothered to do another suitcase, so I just empty out whatever previously happened. And that could be a trip to a wedding in Norway or Paris Fashion Week, and then I’m going to L.A. or something where you need to be scantily clad. That’s the curse of liking fashion too much: There’s always a weird mishmash of different seasons just staring at me from a chair.”
Alexa launched her own eponymous label earlier this year, which has made her take her career in the fashion sector “somewhat seriously”.
the British star – who has starred in campaigns for DKNY Jeans, Superga and Lacoste said: “I have started my own label, so I’m taking it somewhat seriously when the numbers roll in.”

Olivia Culpo is an ‘overdresser’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Culpo considers herself to be an “overdresser”.
The 25-year-old model has admitted she much prefers to go over the top wither outfits than to be “underdressed”, because she “loves clothes” and “feels strange” if she is at a bash and looks “too casual”.
Speaking about her wardrobe choices to InStyle.com, the brunette beauty said: “I personally tend to be an overdresser rather than an underdresser in general. But that’s mainly because I love clothes and I love putting together an interesting look. At a party, it can also feel strange when you’re too casual. If you’re really stuck, ask the host what they’re wearing and follow that lead.”
And the style icon particularly enjoys making an effort with her appearance over the festive season.
She explained “I love to get all dressed up and throw parties around the holidays. I grew up in a big Italian family, and we were always having people come over to celebrate. So now it just comes natural to me.”
Olivia – who is currently dating Danny Amendola – has revealed she has been buying a lot of red lately, but she also loves a simple yet classy “monochromatic look”.
She said: “I’ve been buying a tonne of red lately. And I love a monochromatic look during the holidays because it’s so pulled together, yet still playful.
“Layer a black turtleneck bodysuit under your jackets and dresses. It also looks chic with a pair of trousers.
“A pair of high-waisted leather leggings. You can put it with an oversize sweater or a sleek blazer, and it can take you somewhere casual or dressy.”
And to top off her showstopping outfits Olivia likes to wear a sweep of rouge lipstick and a slick of black eyeliner to make the perfect “cat eye”.
Speaking about her beauty preferences, she said: “I love MAC lip liner with a bold Laura Mercier lipstick on top. I don’t wear any mascara when I do a cat eye, so all of the focus is on the liner.”

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana think fashion is in ‘crisis’

OHMYGOSSIP — Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana believe there are not enough “real fashion designers” in the industry any more.
The founders of the prestigious label Dolce & Gabbana believe there is a lot of “mediocrity” in the fashion business, and they think fellow creators have “no personalities” anymore.
Speaking about the sector Stefano, 54, said: “Is a lot of mediocrity because there’s not any more real fashion designers. No personalities.”
And the duo – who founded the brand in 1985 – thinks the industry is “in crisis” because it is “flat and without a soul”.
Stefano continued: “Fashion is in crisis, flat and without a soul. The big companies destroyed the system because they took all the good designers out of the market – now they all work for huge corporations. Is all about business, about bags, bags, bags.”
However, the creative mastermind believe the industry is more about clothes rather than accessories, and making sure their customers pick up on their “genuine” characteristics.
Stefano said: “For us, fashion is about clothes and they come from the soul, it’s genuine, and our customers feel it.”
Although Stefano and Domenico have acknowledged the high price point of their products makes it difficult for some to purchase and wear their items, the pair believe people can still have the “Dolce & Gabbana style” without buying their merchandise.
Asked about their consumers, Stefano said: “Is all the people who enjoy life. But many people don’t have the money to buy Dolce & Gabbana, and I say to them be inspired, go to the vintage market and buy something similar and you are Dolce & Gabbana style. That’s our goal.”
Stefano and Domenico have revealed their ultimate goal is to “leave the world a house style”.
Stefano told Grazia magazine: “In the next century when we’re gone, to leave the world a house style. We are not into power and money. [I prefer] love. And respect.”

Susan Sarandon looks ‘tired’ in nude lipstick

OHMYGOSSIP — Susan Sarandon thinks she looks “tired” when she wears nude lipstick.
The 70-year-old actress – who is the brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris and represents the brand’s Age Perfect skincare and hair colour range – doesn’t think she can “get away” with wearing pale shades of lip products like the Kardashian/Jenner brood because she thinks it makes her look worn out.
Speaking about her beauty hacks and the trends she stays away from, the red head movie legend said: “I’m not someone that can get away with the Kardashian nude lip thing – I always look so tired. So I always find that I need a lip colour.”
The ‘Stepmom’ star has revealed she never used to have a beauty or skincare routine when she was younger and thinks she is “lucky” she boasts youthful looking skin and is in “good shape”.
She said: “I don’t think I had a routine when I was young. I never paid any attention at all and I’m lucky that I am in as good a shape as I am.”
But Sarah has since changed her former ways and has become more “aware” of her skincare regime and makes a conscious effort to moisturise her skin, stay hydrated and not smoke to maintain her flawless complexion because she believes smoking “robs” people of “everything”.
Speaking to Hello! magazine about how her routine has changed over time, and the changes she has made to her lifestyle to boost her aesthetic, she said: “But yes, I am much more aware of moisturising, drinking more water and not smoking cigarettes. I think cigarettes and too much sun are so damaging to your complexion – they just rob you of everything. ”

Kenneth Branagh loves doing yoga

OHMYGOSSIP — Kenneth Branagh “enjoys” his yoga sessions.
The 56-year-old actor has admitted he regularly undertakes the fitness session, and though he started having lessons “later in life”, he things it is “a necessary” activity for “men of a certain age” to do to stay supple.
Speaking about his fitness hacks to PEOPLE, the ‘Hamlet’ star said: “I love walking my dog. I have a little Jack Russell who runs my life. I talk to him; I train him.
“I’m a man of certain age who’s come to enjoy yoga. I came to it later in life, but lately, it’s a necessary thing.”
Kenneth portrays Detective Hercule Poirot in the new film adaptation of the late Agatha Christie’s 1943 novel ‘Murder on the Orient Express’, and he has admitted he spent “six months” creating on the best shape for his moustache.
The movie icon said: “[It took] six months of work to work out what’s the volume, what’s the shape and how do we put it on.”
But Kenneth is pleased with the facial hair him and his creative team decided on because it hid his “entire mouth”.
He said: “It’s a great moustache because it almost hides your entire mouth. So I recommend this to sports coaches. If you want to not even have the problem about lipsync readability, grow a Poirot moustache and you can get away with quite a lot.”
Kenneth has revealed he also worked closely with a dialect coach and learned French to help him achieve an authentic accent.
Speaking previously about his preparation for the movie, he said: “I don’t speak other languages so learning to speak in a French accent meant trying to learn to speak French to begin with, then how to speak French with a Walloonian accent, then with a Walloonian accent of a man born in Spa, who lives in London. All of that was quite specific. Otherwise you could be generic and sound like Inspector Clueso. He’s not that. Everything about it had to have as much detail as possible.”

Olivia Culpo’s ‘guilty pleasure’ is ‘fried chicken butter biscuit sandwich’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Culpo’s “guilty pleasure” is “fried chicken butter biscuit sandwich”.
The 25-year-old model lives a healthy lifestyle but she has admitted she does indulge in tasty treats “in moderation”, and her all-time favourite feast is battered pieces of meat dipped in honey mustard and jalapenos, which are then sandwiched between two butter biscuits, which is a concoction her boyfriend Danny Amendola introduced her to.
Speaking to PEOPLE about her eating habits, the brunette beauty said: “I love this one guilty pleasure my boyfriend has made for me before. It’s fried chicken cutlets with honey mustard and then jalapeño and they’re between two butter biscuits – like a sandwich – a fried chicken butter biscuit sandwich. It’s so good.”
But when the style icon – who teamed up with the fashion label PrettyLittleThing earlier this year – is eating clean she will enjoy eggs, turkey bacon and quinoa, although she may swap one ingredient with multigrain bread, or she will opt for a nutritious smoothie bowl.
She said: “That’s one of my favourites or I have it with multigrain bread.
“For breakfast, I love making smoothie bowls. There’s so many different ingredients you can use. Basically you would take everything you would put into a smoothie but you can make it a little bit more firm by using frozen bananas, frozen fruit and extra ice, and you put it into a bowl.
“Another healthy breakfast for me would be a little bit of granola with fresh berries and a low fat plain greek yogurt or a fruit salad with coffee is a staple, too. It wakes you up and it’s refreshing.”
But when Olivia wants to be “really healthy” she will sip on juices.
She explained: “I love juicing when I’m trying to be really healthy. I just bought a juicer and I do have to say it makes you feel really, really, really good.”

Speaking to Vogue Online about his passions, the creative mastermind said: “Today, photography is part of my life – it completes the circle between my artistic and professional restlessness.”
This news comes as the businessman selected his favourite images from the Paris Photo exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, France.
From the exhibition the star selected an image of Christy Turlington taken by photographer Patrick Demarchelier, which captures her wearing nothing but a Jaspar Conran rose-shaped hat, as well as a string of other artworks.
And the style icon is set for a busy few weeks ahead as he has teamed up with Claridge’s to design their annual Christmas tree, which will be unveiled in the popular hotel on November 22.

Leslie Odom Jr: ‘You start to become style conscious as you get older’

OHMYGOSSIP — Leslie Odom Junior thinks people become more “style conscious” as they get older.
The 36-year-old actor believes people start to take more pride in their appearance as they age, and though he gained some “sympathy weight” when his wife Nicolette Robinson, 29, was pregnant with their first child Lucille, he relies on his All Saints garments to cover up.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ star said: “As you start to become style conscious as you get older.
“All Saints makes a black cotton T-shirt that I bought in a size large, because I gained some sympathy weight with my wife when she was pregnant, and [the shirt] doesn’t make me feel like one of the Thanksgiving Day floats. I enjoyed it so much I bought six more. Now that I’ve lost some of the weight, I could probably go down to a medium, but I’m still liking the large and it’s my staple. I can throw a sports jacket over top with a pair of jeans by Uniqlo, which I love. I love their black cashmere sweaters, too.”
Leslie has recently been announced as the face of Fossil, and he has admitted it “made sense” to collaborate with the label.
Speaking about his latest partnership, he said: “You’re going to meet many guys who reach for Fossil for their first major watch purchase when they are no longer getting a watch out of a bubblegum machine. That was certainly the case for me. It was a brand partnership that made sense. I get lots of compliments on my watch. They have a digital smartwatch and one that has a traditional face and then has a couple of smart elements.”
And Leslie has hinted he would like to dabble more in the fashion business, and he believes there is a “niche” in the “baby market”, which him and his spouse would like to explore further because they had difficulties dressing their six-month-old daughter.
He said: “There is a niche in the baby market that my wife and I found in trying to dress Lucy. I don’t want to say too much yet, but I think that’s how a lot of things happen in that you see something missing in the marketplace and think, ‘Let’s create that thing.'”
However, Leslie “never thought” he would be involved in the fashion business because he is “picky” about fabric.
He explained: “I never thought I would be into fashion, but I do get picky about what fabrics Lucy is in and what patterns she’s wearing. I want to have the best of everything for her and I’d love it to be affordable.”

He continued: “The most recent Drake album ‘More Life’, is on repeat . My favourite song is ‘Gyalchester’.
“I was in town for a few days last summer and managed to see Drake and Skepta play Wireless festival; they were amazing. It was cool to experience such a large music festival in the middle of the city.”
Alexander has admitted he always turns to fellow designer Ralph Lauren, 78, for inspiration.
He said: “Ralph Lauren is a constant source of inspiration for his ability to create a ubiquitous and encompassing world that is instantly recognisable.”
But when he is looking for a fun night out he will turn to socialite Fran Cutler.
He said: “Fran Cutler hands down [is who he calls to have fun]. Everything that women says and does is entertainment. We recently had a night at Chiltern Firehouse and closed the place. ”
Meanwhile, Alexander’s earliest memory of being in England’s capital is going on a “crazy night” out.
He said: “Going to London by myself for a summer programme at Central Saint Martins and taking the bus in the middle of the night from where I was staying to go out partying. One crazy night I went to this amazing rave in a tunnel in King’s Cross.”

Drake collects Birkin bags

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has been collecting Birkin bags for his future wife.
The 31-year-old singer – whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham – has admitted he is a huge “fan” of the Hermes accessory, and he has a “fairly vast” array of the leather holdall, which he has been keeping hold of over the years because he wants to pass them on to “the woman that [he] ends up with one day”.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about his favourite items, the ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker – who launched his own clothing line October’s Very Own (OVO) in 2011 – said: “People would be surprised to know that I am a fan of Birkins. My mom’s best friend collects them and when I was young, I sort of started to understand the value in them. And there’s very few things in this world, tangible things anyway, that hold their value and sort of appreciate as the years go on.
“It was one of those things that I, you know, just started collecting as well for, I guess, the woman that I end up with one day. So, I have a fairly vast collection of Hermes to offer somebody at some point in life.”
Drake has proved he is a successful artist, and has a flare for fashion, but he has admitted he wants to turn his hand to Hollywood and carve out a career in the film industry in the future, although he will never give up his job as a musician.
Speaking previously, Drake – who has landed minor roles in a string of movies, including ‘Charlie Barlett’, ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ and ‘Think Like a Man Too’ – said: “I’m sure I’ll stop [making music] one day. When it starts to feel like I’m making it up. Hopefully I’ll catch it before I ever get there, right? But right now it feels like we just started, so I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. But I do plan on expanding – to take six months or a year to myself and do some great films. Music’s always there.
“Acting is another thing that I just can’t wait to really dive into, I think after I release ‘More Life’, which is this playlist I’m working on and finish this tour. I think I’m going to really start to position myself in the acting world and, hopefully, take some great roles.”

Jean Paul Gaultier wanted to be a designer aged nine

OHMYGOSSIP — Jean Paul Gaultier knew he wanted to be a designer at nine years old.
The 65-year-old fashion mogul – who launched his first clothing line in 1976 – has admitted after watching a cabaret show as a child he was inspired to start creating extravagant garments, although he was ridiculed by his school teacher for his creations.
The creative mastermind told WWD: “You know how it all started for me? As a child I was often at my grandma’s — Mémé Garabé — and she used to let me watch anything on TV. I remember one night, I was nine years old, and they were screening the premiere of the Folies Bergère. It was in black and white and there used to only be one channel back then. There was the director of the theater and his wife, who was very well-dressed, and then down from the ceiling came these two dancers in fishnets, ostrich feathers and glittering diamonds, like an apparition. I was transfixed, I found it so beautiful.
“That night I put some feathers on my teddy bear, Nana, then the next day during class at school I started daydreaming and did a sketch of the dancers in their outfits, but the teacher spotted me. She made me stand up, rapped my knuckles with a ruler, made me stand on a platform and tacked the sketch to my back using safety pins — so already very punk. To humiliate me, she made me do a tour of all the classrooms, only it had the opposite effect.”
However, the former creative director of Hermès – who held the title at the fashion house for seven years from 2003 – has admitted the unforgettable moment only spurred him on further as his schoolmates would ask Gaultier to make pieces for them.
He continued: “The kids were all smiling and laughing and asking me to do sketches for them. It’s at that point that I realized, as the kid who had always been rejected for not being good at soccer, that the key to being liked was doing sketches. After that I would go to see all of the productions and operettas in Paris; it was all those dreamy things on TV that made me fall in love with this idea of the show.”
And the French star has admitted London has also inspired his garments.
He added: “London was a major inspiration, not only for the clothes but the sense of freedom.”
And Gaultier thinks he has made a “good job” of his career, although he thinks there is a “lot of resistance” in the fashion industry.
Speaking about his career, he said: “I like to think I’ve made a good job of it. It’s good that [there is more support of diversity] but there is still a lot of resistance. I never saw it as fighting for a cause, though, for me it was spontaneous; I was doing what felt natural to me. I felt a part of it. I have always been attracted to what is new, interesting, funny, creative, the good things that were happening at that time in the world.”

Ashley Graham has an ‘insane’ jewellery collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham has an “insane” jewellery collection.
The 30-year-old model has admitted she owns a vast amount of accessories, and she believes a lot of “big girl” are similar to her and will have more jewellery than clothes because “there’s no size” attached to those items, which Ashley believes makes the wearer feel more confident.
Speaking to PEOPLE, the brunette beauty said: “I think something that big girls around the world have always been told is: There is not enough fashion for you. “If you look at any big girl’s closet, the accessories are on point, the shoes are on point, the make-up is on point. My jewellery collection is insane, because there’s no size when it comes to jewellery; that’s why I have a correlation between confidence and jewellery.”
And the catwalk icon’s favourite piece of jewellery is her wedding ring.
Ashley – who married husband Justin Ervin in 2010 – said: “I mean my wedding ring. When my husband and I knew that we were going to get married we started trying on diamonds just to see what I liked. Then he surprised me with something I wasn’t expecting but it was so me. I think that diamonds really tell a story about who you are and what kind of woman you are.”
Ashley has revealed she has treated herself to a piece of jewellery following a break up when she was younger, which instantly made her feel better.
She said: “I had a really terrible break up and I went out to Barneys and bought myself this beautiful gold necklace that says ‘I love you’ when you spin it. It was a reminder to myself that men come and go, and you will have bad experiences, but you have to remember to love who you are.”
Ashley has recently launched her own swimwear range, Swimsuit for All, and also collaborated with Marina Rinaldi on a denim line, but she has no plans to slow down any time soon.
Speaking about her career, she said: “We are here to stay and you can tell by how many designers are putting us on the runway, how many covers we’re on, and the fact that in the last three years I’ve never seen more progression in the curve world than ever before and I’ve being doing this for 18 years. We’re not a trend.”
