Rihanna: Becoming curvy changed fashion line

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna says becoming “thick and curvy” changed how she designed her fashion line.
The 31-year-old beauty mogul is preparing to debut her high-fashion line later this month in Paris, and the R&B superstar admitted that she’s changed how she dresses “in terms of her proportions” since becoming more curvaceous.
In an interview with T, The New York Times Style Magazine, she said: “It just changed how I dress in terms of my proportions. You wear what looks good on you and that’s it. I’m thick and curvy right now, and so if I can’t wear my own stuff then, I mean, that’s not gonna work, right? And my size is not the biggest size. It’s actually closer to the smallest size we have: We go up to a [French size] 46. We’re saying we can meet you at any one drop that we put out.”
The range was created in partnership with LVMH (Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton) and will be branded Fenty after the success of make-up line, and the ‘Work’ hitmaker insisted that she’s been “evolving throughout the fashion world”.
She said: “I’ve been slowly evolving throughout the fashion world. First wearing it, buying it, being recognised for my style and then collaborating with brands.
“I never just wanted to put my name on something and sell my license. I’m very hands-on, so I wanted to take it slowly and gain respect as a designer.
“I already had a relationship with them after the Versailles campaign and the makeup line, so they extended the offer to me and it was a no-brainer because LVMH is a machine. Bernard Arnault was so enthusiastic; he trusted me and my vision.”

Yara Shahidi used mascara on brows

OHMYGOSSIP — Yara Shahidi used to put mascara on her eyebrows to keep their shape.
The 19-year-old actress has opened up about her coveted beauty routine, and the star has revealed that before she knew about brow gels that were on the market, she would use her daily mascara to give her face a touch up and keep any stray hairs in place.
Speaking in a beauty tutorial for US Vogue, Yara said: “Before I learned that people make products for brows, I used to just put mascara on my brows.
“I always say my beauty icons are of course my momma and my nanna, they were the first representations I had of what beauty means to me. I have a binder on my phone just called aesthetic where I just save photos that inspire me.”
The ‘Black-ish’ star always makes sure to “start” her daily routine with a good skincare regime and will often use a sheet mask to give her face a shot of hydration in the morning.
She said: “So starting with a face mask, partially because I like to take videos and scare my brothers while wearing a face mask. I leave this on for 15 minutes but if I’m doing something I can easily leave this on for an hour. I have to say, I really start with skincare and the skincare is what I do on a daily basis, whereas makeup is really more spontaneous, and depending on how I feel that day and what colours I want to see on my face.”
And Yara swears by a good moisturiser to keep her complexion glowing, and always makes sure to rub it into her hands because they “age faster”.
She added: “My skincare routine changes so often, right now a lot of it has been about moisturising, I use the Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base, you don’t need much and I rub it into my hands because my hands age faster than I do.
“Using foundation, I am golden and my shade changed throughout the year because my melanin changed throughout the year. I take a brush and I mix it and usually on my day-today makeup I don’t really wear much foundation. One thing I know is just being a teenager, my forehead likes to rebel and it’s about how to embrace that.”

Spice Girls reunion tour costumes ‘honour’ the ’90s

OHMYGOSSIP — The Spice Girls reunion tour costumes will “honour” their ’90s roots.
The ‘2 Become 1′ hitmakers – who consist of Geri Horner, Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C and formerly Victoria Beckham – all had looks which were inspired by their Spice monikers, Ginger Spice, Scary Spice, Baby Spice, Sporty Spice and Posh Spice.
And as the girls prepare to take to the stage at Dublin’s Croke Park on Friday night (24.05.19) for the first night of their stadium tour, the group’s costume designer Gabriella Slade has revealed that their individual looks will be “respectful of their legacy” of catsuits, crop tops and platform boots.
Slade told British Vogue: “There’s a definite honouring of the ’90s, but with a contemporary twist. I really wanted to bring back a sense of what the Spice Girls were, what they stood for. It’s respectful of their legacy … that’s what the fans want.”
And the A-list designer wanted to keep each of the Spice Girls’ looks reflective of their own personalities and stay true to each members “DNA” during their 13-date tour.
She added: “No-one wanted the typical ‘girl band’ look. The dancers’ outfits will reflect the DNA of that Spice Girl, There are multiple looks for the dancers as well as the girls, that was an important part of their vision,
The ‘Say You’ll Be There’ singers are taking the stage for the first time in seven years following the 2012 Olympics, and Slade wanted them to feel “empowered” and each of their looks to show how they’ve grown as women.
She added: “[I] wanted the girls to feel empowered by what they’re wearing. It’s a really fun aesthetic for everyone to enjoy, but it respects the fact that they’re four different women now, they’re coming to this from a different place than when they were first in the charts.”

Ashley Graham owns 50 swimsuits

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham “owns about 50” different swimsuits.
The 31-year-old model has designed her own range of swimwear for the inclusive brand, Swimsuits for All, and the star has revealed that she loves to create her own different collections and “invest” in staple pieces that are made of high “quality” materials.
Speaking to InStyle, she said: “You can never have enough swimsuits. I own about 50! I really suggest quality over quantity. Invest in a few staple pieces that will last a few seasons.”
Ashley enlisted the help of her younger sibling, Abigail, to help her model the summer capsule collection, which was shot on the beaches of Punta Cana by A-List photographer Ben Watts, because they’re both “passionate about body confidence”.
She added: “My sister is also passionate about body confidence, and as a new mum, she felt that this was a great way to spread a positive, message to women that our bodies are beautiful at all stages of our lives.”
And Graham recalled when she and her sister would go on summer holidays as children and admitted that old photos of them on “trips” was the source of inspiration for the labels campaign images.
She added: “My sister and I have such fond memories of summer trips and family vacations as children. We road tripped everywhere together, and when we would get to a beach, the whole family would convince Abigail – since she’s the baby – to let us bury her under the sand. Then we would leave bread crumbs around her to attract the seagulls. I’ll never forget us freaking out every time! Going through these old photos and choosing which ones to recreate was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for us.”
The inclusive nine-piece collection is now available online, and features snakeskin, floral and mesh details, and the Vogue model insisted that she wanted to create a “variety” of styles so there was “something for everyone”.
She continued: “We have two one-shoulder one pieces with cutouts that I love. We wanted to make sure the collection featured a variety of styles, materials and colourways this season so there was something for everyone.”

Bryce Dallas Howard wears second hand dress to Rocketman Cannes screening

OHMYGOSSIP — Bryce Dallas Howard “challenged” herself to wear “previously owned pieces” at the Cannes Film Festival.
The 38-year-old actress was in the South of France for a screening of her new movie, Sir Elton John biopic ‘Rocketman’, and she made the decision to partner with luxury online resale outlet The Real Real and only wear second-hand dresses for the event rather than don new garments which she only ever wears once.
In a social media post, she said: “Hey online family, I’m in Cannes! You know what that means … big time fancy schmancy dressing up! I always feel conflicted when shopping for a press tour, because often these are clothes I will only wear once. In the past, since I’ve purchased rather than borrowed I realized ultimately this wasn’t an entirely sustainable practice.
“For several years now, I’ve relied on @therealreal religiously to both buy and consign my own clothes. So for this @rocketmanmovie press tour, I challenged myself to exclusively dress in consigned and previously owned pieces. This is my first look: the dress, shoes, and sunglasses are all from @therealreal (tap second photo for credits). I’m so curious, who of you out there buy or sell your clothes on consignment? Or vintage? (sic)”
Bryce donned a stunning pre-owned Gucci dress to the exclusive screening which was attended by Elton.
She said: “Tonight was the @rocketmanmovie @festivaldecannes premiere! This previously owned @gucci dress (and @reemacra belt) was an exciting find on @therealreal. It’s pretty hot here at Cannes and it’s made out of cotton. I felt so badly for the fellas in suits! Congrats to @eltonjohn, @bernietaupinofficial, @davidfurnish, and the rest of the Rocketman family on a wonderful screening. Now off to the after party! (sic)”
Bryce plays Elton’s mother Sheila in the biopic, whilst the movie also stars Taron Egerton as the ‘Tiny Dancer’ singer, Jamie Bell as his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin and Richard Madden as his manager and former lover John Reid.

Kylie Jenner spent whole year ‘creating’ skincare line

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner spent a whole year “creating” her six-step skincare line
The 21-year-old reality star – who launched her eponymous $900 million cosmetics empire in 2016 – has opened up about the much-anticipated range, which includes a Foaming Face Wash, Walnut Face Scrub, Vanilla Milk Toner, Face Moisturiser, Vitamin C Serum and Eye Cream, that will be available later this month on her website.
And Kylie revealed that she has been trialling the products on her own skin for “10 months”, and “loves” it so much, that she has now made it a permanent part of her own ritual.
Speaking on a Kylie Skin Instagram video, the mogul said: “I’m going to show you guys my everyday skincare routine and talk about my products a little bit more. I start with my face wash, probably my favourite product in the line, it just makes my face feel so clean and retains the natural moisture in your face.
“I went through a lot of samples to get the perfect foaminess and creaminess, and the scent is amazing and refreshing, this almost brings your face back to life, it’s a very unique face wash.
“I have been creating this for a year, I have been using it for around ten months. This is my skincare routine, I’m really excited for you guys to try it.”
And the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star wanted to make sure her all-pink skincare line included her own bespoke details.
She added: “Now I’m going to pat my face, not wipe [my face] because I used to really dry my face harshly. Now I’m going to go in with my walnut face scrub, I actually wrote the descriptions on the back, handwritten by Kylie.
“My vanilla milk toner smells delicious, it’s very fast and easy to use and helps me to remove any surviving make-up after my foaming face wash.
“Toner really helps prepare my face for my serum and moisturiser, I could take a bath in this, I don’t really like toners that have alcohol in them.”
The brunette beauty – who has sisters Kourtney, 40, Kim, 38, and Khloe Kardashian, 34 and Kendall Jenner, 23 – recalled that her siblings have always instilled the importance of eye cream into her from a young age, and admitted that she loves her face cream because it’s the perfect “make-up base”.
She added: “After my toner I’m going to go in with my Vitamin C serum, it’s for everyday. Right when you put it on, it immediately sinks into your skin and help brighten your complexion. I love my face moisturiser, and it’s currently my base for my make-up right now. There’s no scent in this, I learned strong fragrances can be overwhelming, but this [product] has changed my life.
“Last but not least, my eye cream. My sisters taught me from a young age to wear eye cream, I feel like you can start as early as you want it’s just a preventative.”

Poppy Delevingne collaborates with Alexa Chung to create charity T-shirts

OHMYGOSSIP — Poppy Delevingne has collaborated with Alexa Chung to create a t-shirt range for Save the Children.
The 33-year-old model-and-actress has teamed up with the fashion guru to mark 100-year anniversary of the charity – which aims improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities – and the launch of their new Stop the War on Children campaign.
And Poppy has revealed that she was inspired to create the organic cotton t-shirts – which feature an illustration of a crescent moon face alongside the words ‘The Future is Now’ – to “encourage” people to “do something good” and support the charity in a fashionable way.
In a statement, Poppy said: “Having visited many Save the Children programmes over the past four years – most recently Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan a fortnight ago, I’ve met with some of the most inspiring and amazing children who, despite adversity and conflict, have not only survived to tell their stories but are now thriving and full of hope for a better future.
“It’s because of these children and their daily fight that Alexa and I wanted to create something that would help make a change and encourage people to do something good.
“The future is full of possibility so join us and help make a change for the millions of children that need it the most around the world. Buy our t-shirts and wear them proudly!”
Alexa, 35, also insisted that she was “drawn” to the concept of a crescent moon because it symbolises “children’s dreams” and the “fight” for their future.
She added: “When coming up with the t-shirt design, I kept being drawn towards a crescent moon. To me it symbolises children’s dreams, hopes and the promise of a new day.
“Sadly, not all children have the chance to enjoy such innocent childhoods as millions are battling through conflicts started by adults.
“But they should, and we need to fight for their futures and help them fulfil their potential by ensuring all children are off limits in war. Their future, our future, starts now. Please join us and help raise vital funds for Save the Children.”
The slogan was inspired by the charity’s belief that every child should be able to make a mark on the world and hope for a better future.
Each garment will be priced at £25, and will be available in the colours navy, bright white and a limited edition run of canary yellow.
At least 30 per cent from each t-shirt sale will go to Save the Children and are available exclusively to order from www.savethechildrenstore.com from Thursday 16th May 2019.

Selena Gomez’s Puma collection contains secret details

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez’s second Puma collection contains hidden messages about her life.
The 26-year-old singer released her much-anticipated new fashion line with the sportswear giant on Wednesday (15.05.19), and the star has revealed that she included subtle details about her past in her designs, including the “coordinates” of her Grand Prairie, Texas “hometown”.
There are semi colons referenced to represent the tattoo she got with the cast of Netflix’s ’13 Reasons Why’ – which she is executive producer of – that has become a symbol for the battle with depression and a new life chapter.
She told US Glamour: “I’ve put everything from some of my tattoos, my birthdate, the coordinates of my hometown — even working with lupus and having an artist create a box for a shoe that I release where some of the proceeds are able to go to that.
“I try to find original ways of doing it. Every single thing that I do in my career and my life, I just feel so grateful. So most of the time, I try to put a little piece of me in [it].”
And Selena loves to keep her wardrobe simple and “sophisticated”.
She added: “I love trying new things, but I generally love pieces that I feel very sophisticated, sexy, and classy in. I personally don’t want anything that’s too distracting.
“I like to be chill. I don’t overthink anything. I’ll put things together randomly–put on a sweater, throw on a belt with it, maybe wear a skirt or something. It just depends on where I’m at, mentally. I mean, half of fashion is being confident, I think.”
The ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ hitmaker also insisted that her attitude to fashion can come and go, but for the majority of the time, she “loves” it.
She continued: “I go through periods where I’m absolutely in love with fashion, and then I go through periods where I’m like, ‘I don’t know what to wear, I don’t know what’s cool.’ And I’m going to just do my own thing.”

Michael B. Jordan has a ‘basic’ grooming routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael B. Jordan’s grooming routine is “pretty basic”.
The 32-year-old actor is one of the most handsome men in Hollywood and now the ‘Creed II’ star has opened up about his skincare ritual and has revealed that other sticking to a rule to only wash his face “every two or three days”, in order to retain his skin’s natural oils, he doesn’t do too much else to stay looking good.
In fact, Michael’s only problem is suffering from in-grown stubble hairs on his face.
Speaking to ELLE US, he shared: “I’m super low-maintenance: shower, moisturise, put some cologne on, f***ing tweezers to get in-growns. I don’t touch my eyebrows. They do their thing. I don’t wash my face every day, I might wash it once every two, three days. You’ve got to give your face a break. You don’t want to keep stripping it down all the time and exfoliating every day. Self-care? Manicure, pedicure – I’m starting to get more into that. [My grooming routine is] pretty basic.”
The ‘Black Panther’ star does use fragrance daily and “layers” his favourite scent “underneath” his clothes.
He said: “After the shower, I spread it on my body after I moisturise. Then, I get dressed and spray a couple pumps right after I put my clothes on. You don’t want too much – I have to layer it underneath my clothes.”
Michael first got a fancy for fragrance when he was at school and he wore some and got a compliment from a girl.
He shared: “My first cologne wasn’t my cologne – It was my best friend’s older brother’s. He was the cool older brother that I never had. He had tons of cologne in his room with sneakers. He said, ‘Never go in my room. Don’t touch my s**t.’ Of course, the second he left the house, we were in his room touching all his s**t. I snatched up one of his colognes and I just doused myself with it. I ended up going out and I got a compliment from a girl saying, ‘You smell good.’ I was like, ‘Oh s**t, OK. That worked. It was probably some cheap f**king cologne, but I never forgot that it warranted a compliment, and it was a conversation starter. I was like, ‘Oh, this little bit of spray is cool!’ That was my first little introduction into cologne.’ ”

The second I heard the creatives for this shoot, I understood how I wanted to bring that to life and show different sides of myself through each character.”

The 26-year-old model – who was recently named an Angel for the prestigious lingerie giant – has returned to her home city of London to show off the much-anticipated Incredible collection, which is one of the brand’s most popular everyday designs because it delivers the most comfortable support, and is available in a range of colours, including neutral, bold and bright spring hues.
To celebrate the occasion, Leomie was joined by a team of incredible women who define living your passions: fashion blogger & author Victoria Magrath, Olympic skier Chemmy Alcott, founder of Duck & Dry Yulia Rorstrom and musician Amelia Monét.
The British beauty has previously admitted that before she was asked to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel, she thought she was going to be “dropped” by the brand.
She said: “Well, I was having a really bad day at work, and Travis, my agent, texted me asking when I was going to be home, and I was like, ‘Why do you want to know so badly?’ Once I got to my building, he and my booker Jodie were standing there, so I was like, ‘Okay, maybe something bad is happening–maybe you’re going to drop me.’
“Then, once I got into my apartment and they were like, ‘What’s something you’ve been really working toward, and working really hard for?’ I didn’t know what to say–I was still trying to gauge the situation. And then they were like, ‘Well, guess what? You got a contract to be an Angel!’ And I just said, ‘What are you talking about?'”
And Leomie revealed that once the news had sunk in, she immediately “cried” and “celebrated” the news.
She added: “I thought it was a joke, but then they told me they were being serious, so I cried, and then we celebrated. I was just trying to live in that moment. I’ve been modelling for 11 years now, so to finally get a big contract, and for it to be with a team of people I’ve worked with and I actually enjoy working with as well, is a dream come true.”

Whoopi Goldberg wanted fashion line to be inclusive

OHMYGOSSIP — Whoopi Goldberg wanted to make sure her fashion line was available for “every shape”.
The 63-year-old actress has launched her first ever clothing range and the EGOT winner was determined that the line, named Dubgee, which features graphic separates, tunics and dresses, was size inclusive.
And Whoopi admitted that she was drawn to creating her own collection because she struggles with body confidence and wanted to design a range that she loved herself.
She told PEOPLE: “You’re going to see me in my clothes. Because if I’m not wearing them, then you’re not going to believe what I tell you about them. You’re going to want to wear these clothes because they’re comfortable and that they’re made for your shape, regardless of what your shape is.
“If you decide not to wear a bra, don’t wear a bra! But just know that whatever you decide, it’s the right choice for you. My style is whatever I make it. I am happy to be me in my clothes.”
The ‘Sister Act’ star insisted that the concept to create her own size-inclusive range came after she travelled to Greece but could not find “comfortable” garments that fitted her figure.
She added: “It was an experience I wasn’t really familiar with because I’ve always been able to find things that were comfortable and felt fine.”
The exclusive collection will range in price from $89 to $390, and the ‘Ghost’ star explained that she wanted to create garments that would be “staple pieces” and would make women “feel good” no matter what size they are.
She added: “The last thing you should ever worry about is what’s in your closet. My attitude is to make comfortable stuff that becomes a staple in your closet and you can style it however you want to.
“My weight fluctuates. And if it goes however it goes, I want to feel good about everything I put on. There are so many people that think they can’t be fashionable, but not with DUBGEE. You can be whatever you want.”
Goldberg’s Dubgee range is available on Amazon, Ashley Stewart, Le Tote and Neiman Marcus.
