Antonia Gentry loves the ‘versatility’ of her hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Antonia Gentry loves the “versatility” of her hair.
The 26-year-old actress sports her locks in a number of ways and goes to great lengths to make sure that her hair is always “moisturised and nourished” and taken care of.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “I love how versatile curly and textured hair can be. I can wear it out and it’s bouncy and big. I can straighten it, I can make it wavy. I use three products outside of shampooing and conditioning.
“Aveda has a Be Curly Advanced Curl Perfecting Primer that I’ll spray onto my hair, work it in and then right after I’ll go in with my favourite: the Be Curly Advanced Enhancer Cream. It’s very lightweight and it makes my hair feel really moisturised and nourished.
“Before, I would wash my hair every other day because it was hard to keep my curls lasting throughout the week but now I’ll use the Be Curly Advanced Coil Definer Gel and a heat diffuser, and I’m good for several days.
“When I’m working, there is a lot of heat styling involved so it’s important for me to be able to take care of my hair outside of work to prevent damage.”
The ‘Ginny and Georgia’ star attended the Vanity Fair Oscars Party in 2022 and noted that after enlisting the help of her “go-to” hairstylist, the look they came up with ended up becoming her “favourite” ever for a public appearance as she recalled feeling like a “different woman” on the red carpet.
She said: “My favourite look for a red carpet was my first Vanity Fair Oscars Party last year.
“I worked with Marty Harper, my go-to hairstylist, and we did this lovely, really long half-wig situation where my hair is pulled back. There was a headband, my hair was down to my butt and I felt like a different woman.”

Kim Kardashian planning on making second nipple bra

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian is planning on making a “half nip” edition of her nipple bra.
The 43-year-old TV star, who owns the beauty company Skims, released the Skims Ultimate Nipple Bra in October 2023, which has proven to be a huge success.
In light of its popularity, Kim has revealed she wants to make a new version of the push-up bra, despite initially finding the product embarrassing.
During an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ she said: “I showed up to a meeting once and I was so insecure that I was covering my hair to not show them. So, I think we’re going to make one with a half nip. Like, not as hard.”
‘The Kardashians’ star explained she designed the bra with breast cancer survivors in-mind.
She added: “It is our nipple bra and honestly, I wasn’t expecting all of the amazing feedback that we got from a lot of breast cancer survivors.”
Looking back at the product, Kim revealed that the bra was actually “moulded after” her own breasts.
She said: “That is actually moulded after my own boobs. The whole thing. It’s a pad with a nipple on it, so if you wanted to feel nippy.”
The reality star did however admit that not everyone was a fan, as Scott Disick – Kourtney Kardashian’s former parter – insisted he felt the nipples were “inappropriate” once he saw Khloe modelling it.
She explained: “Khloe was wearing it, and Scott made a comment, like, ‘This is a little inappropriate.’ And then, she was like, ‘They’re not mine, they’re Kim’s.’ And he was like, ‘What?’”
In an ad for the product, Kim sported the bra while teasing “these nipples are harder” than difficult days.
In the video, she said: “The earth’s temperature is getting hotter and hotter. The sea levels are rising. The ice sheets are shrinking. And I’m not a scientist, but I do believe everyone can use their skills to do their part.
“That’s why I’m introducing a brand new bra with a built-in nipple, so no matter how hot it is, you’ll always look cold.
“Some days are hard, but these nipples are harder. And unlike these icebergs, these aren’t going anywhere.”

Zendaya admits Met Gala is ‘terrifying’

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya finds the Met Gala “terrifying”.
The actress, 27, will be going up the Met steps for the first time since 2019 this year and is set to co-chair the event alongside Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny, but she has admitted the experience is both exciting and “daunting”.
During an appearance on ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’, she told the hosts: “Going up the steps is very daunting, and I haven’t been back for maybe four or five years.
“So this is, like, my first time back at the Met in quite a while.”
The actress, who is gearing up to the release of her new movie ‘Challengers’ – where she plays the stylishly-dressed tennis player Tashi – said she loves to “embody” her characters, even during press tours.
She explained: “It’s fun in the sense that I like to look at fashion as creativity.
“Even in press tours, it’s a way to continue the creativity from the film.
“I like to just create characters, because ultimately sometimes, doing this for a living feels a little weird and awkward and I’m more of a shy, introverted person, so I get to create these characters. ‘I’m this woman today who wears a green suit.’ You get to embody this character for a day and clothes can do that for you.”
This year’s Met Gala theme – which will take place on 6 May – is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, and will feature approximately 250 different items, including some pieces that are over 400 years old, like an 1877 Charles Frederick Worth silk satin ball gown.
The dress code will be ‘The Garden of Time’, which is said to be inspired by the J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name.
Vogue has explained the dress code will be about “fleeting beauty”.

Antonia Gentry is embracing natural curls after years of fighting ‘very real stigma’

OHMYGOSSIP — Antonia Gentry wants to “embrace” her natural curls after years of feeling a “very real stigma”.
The 25-year-old ‘Ginny and Georgia’ actress has teamed up with Aveda for the haircare brand’s Be Curly Advanced line, having previously battled against a lack of “representation” or “education” in caring for textured hair in Hollywood.
She told People magazine: “When I was straightening my hair as a kid, it was to hide.
“But now if I want to switch up my hair, I have the tools to protect my hair into different styles, and it’s less about hiding and more about a way to express myself because curly hair can do so much, and I love being a part of the representation that you can embrace your hair.”
Whether it has been on sets or red carpet events in the past, Antonia felt “a sense of anxiety” whenever she needed to get her hair done.
She explained: “I’ve had my hair break off, I’ve had my hair thin out, I’ve had it fried, dyed so many things that came from that lack of expertise and that lack of education on how to do my hair.
“The one thing I’ll never let happen to my hair again is spraying it down with water and then taking a curling iron to it while it’s soaking wet to somehow re-curl my already curly hair.
“I remember that happened to me and my hair was sizzling and I was just sitting there very, very confused and scared. I was like, ‘Why are we doing this?’ ”
Antonia has now become more comfortable speaking out if there’s anything she isn’t happy with.
She said: “I think there’s a very real stigma against actors, especially with textured hair in the chair of feeling that they can’t really speak up about things that they aren’t comfortable with because they don’t want to be labeled as difficult to work with.”
However, she is now proud to be speaking out, particularly through playing Ginny and getting to show her own experiences on screen.
She added: “I’ve been approached by a lot of fans that have curly hair and have told me — young and old, many different ages, different genders — that seeing a character be able to wear their natural hair in a show has made them accept themselves more.”

Billie Eilish admits blonde hairstyle sparked identity crisis

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish has revealed her blonde hair transformation sparked an identity crisis.
The 22-year-old star famously ditched her dark locks for a blonde style at the Met Gala in 2021, and she admitted the change came as she started to lose herself, particularly at the beginning of the pandemic.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “I was with myself so much that I couldn’t see myself objectively anymore.
“And then I dyed my hair blond and I immediately was like, ‘Oh, I have no idea who I am.’ ”
She admitted the whirlwind of 2019 was “the best time” of her life, and she is now rediscovering herself again.
She added: “This whole process has felt like I’m coming back to the girl that I was. I’ve been grieving her.
“I’ve been looking for her in everything, and it’s almost like she got drowned by the world and the media. I don’t remember when she went away.”
The hairstyle change came as she worked on her second album ‘Happier Than Ever’, and Finneas – her brother and collaborator – admitted it was a confusing time period.
He said: “In a weird way, that was a little like being in a tornado cellar, reading a cute little story. It was a coping mechanism of an album.”
The blonde hairdo isn’t the only dramatic change she’s had in the past, and she underwent another secret switch before going back to brunette.
Back in January 2022, she made an Instagram post marked with the date November 22, and wrote: “I took the blonde out and went red for a week hehe” (sic)
The ‘bad guy’ hitmaker shared a photo of herself in the process of dyeing hair whilst wearing a black salon gown, sporting her flaming red locks.
The Grammy Award winner has admitted that her signature neon green look meant she “couldn’t go anywhere” and she craved anonymity.
She told Elle: “I couldn’t go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity.”

Nicola Coughlan claps back at critics over Bridgerton premiere outfit

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Coughlan has fired back at people criticising her outfit from the ‘Bridgerton’ premiere.
The 37-year-old star has been in Australia with her co-star Luke Newton to promote the third season of the hit Netflix period drama, and she has responded after trolls judged her fashion choices for the glitzy event.
She stepped out in a black Ganni ensemble with a matching silk bra, skirt and blazer set.
Someone on social media asked: “Why is she in her bra??”
Clapping back on her Instagram Story, Nicola quipped: “Cos it looked good.”
Nicola used to plaster her face with beauty products to hide behind when she was younger, but after she was forced not to wear makeup at drama school, she ultimately learned to embrace her natural beauty.
She previously told Glamour UK: “When I was younger, I used to be terrified to step out without makeup. It was like it was the worst thing in the world. Then I went to drama school, where you’re not allowed to wear makeup so you can adapt to any character necessary. I was horrified.
“But eventually, it taught me to accept myself in my own skin and made room for makeup to become a fun thing, not a defensive thing. Now, I love makeup, and I love being able to celebrate it, but I can totally go without it.”
Dressing up in period outfits for the Netflix show boosted the 35-year-old star’s confidence.
She explained: “I’ve always loved getting dressed up doing my hair and makeup, but when I was young, I was afraid to have any eyes on me and was worried I’d be judged. It was through being on the set of ‘Bridgerton’ that actually really helped me discover confidence and joy in getting dressed up. I had these amazing gowns and amazing wigs made for me, and I thought, ‘Why can I not bring that joy into my own life?'”

Ava Phillippe embracing her natural blonde look

OHMYGOSSIP — Ava Phillippe is out of her “fun colours era” with her hair.
The 24-year-old actress – who is the daughter of Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon – has previously dyed her blonde locks various hues, including purple, orange and pink, and though she doesn’t “regret” her previous looks, there are shades she knows didn’t quite work for her as well as she’d hoped.
She told Nylon magazine: “Well, I will never call my hair journey a regret. I think there are lessons to be learned, though.
” Especially when you’re blonde, if you dye your hair blue, it’s going to go green, eventually. That’s a big one.
“But like I said, no regrets. You have to try things to know what works and what doesn’t. And it’s hair; it grows back.
“I’m no longer in my fun colours era, but I’m very lucky to have gotten it out of my system when I did.”
Although Ava is happy to embrace her natural colour now, she admitted it isn’t easy to maintain.
She said: “Right now, I want to keep it simple and just be my normal blonde, which blonde is never really simple. Tucker Goodwine at Chris McMillan Salon in L.A. has been doing my hair colour for a few times now and now I think we’re getting into a groove.
“When I first heard about the K18 hair mask, I was skeptical — they have all these big claims of what it can do — but it really did repair my hair.
“Also, I got a shower filter that has changed my life, my skin, and my hair. It’s the Jolie Filtered Showerhead.”
While Ava used to use beauty products and make-up to “cover things” and “change” her appearance, she thinks differently now.
She explained: “My relationship with beauty is ever-changing. It started off by wanting to cover things or change things, and as I’ve gotten older and more mature, it’s been more about highlighting things I like or being creative and playing with new colours and ideas.
“It’s more fun when you make it about something other than hiding. I think the way I present myself outward is a big reflection of what’s on the inside, that creative spirit.”

Victoria Beckham excited to bring her fashion “aesthetic” to the high street

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham is excited to bring her fashion “aesthetic” to the high street.
The Spice Girls star-turned-fashion designer is taking her first step into lower cost clothing by launching a collection with Mango and she says she’s thrilled to be able to share her work with a whole new section of the market.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper: “I have a strong aesthetic I know people can relate to. I see this as an opportunity to bring what I do to a new community.”
Victoria went on to insist she’s hoping to bring high-end tailoring to the high street, adding: “It’s always about what I want to wear and this collection is no different. I always put myself into the clothes I design. I think tailoring is probably where the high street finds it a little bit more difficult to compete with higher-end brands.”
One of her Mango products is a black tuxedo jacket priced at £215 which Victoria hopes will become a wardrobe staple and last for years to come.
She added: “I really wanted to focus on making [a tailored jacket] for this collection that could stand the test of time.”
Victoria went on to gush about her love for the UK high street: “For me, growing up, it was only ever the high street. I wasn’t in a position to wear designer clothes, my mum never wore designer clothes.
“Whether I was shopping or looking for inspiration, that is where we went.”
The collection also includes a raffia bag for £170, sandals for £120 and a cream waistcoat with a price tag of £140. It launches in store and online on Tuesday (23.04.24).

Paris Hilton has created ‘the future of tanning’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Hilton is convinced her latest product launch is “the future of tanning”.
The 43-year-old hotel heiress has collaborated with beauty brand Tan-Luxe to create her own product – a self-tanner for the body – and Paris is adamant it’s different to every other tanning product on the market because it’s more like “skin care that makes you tan.”
When explaining why she wanted to launch her own tanning product, she told WWD: “So many trends I started were done in an organic, real way. They were just things I loved,” she said in an interview with WWD. “My mom always taught me to stay out of the sun, and that’s why I discovered spray tans. Now, we have a product that has such a beautiful colour, really works and is like putting on skin care that makes you tan …
“I’m an expert on getting tanned, but Tan-Luxe are the experts in tanning products. We put our creative minds together to come up with what we think is the future of tanning.”
She added: “It’s very different from any other product lines out there for tanning.”
Paris’ self-tanner is called The Future and it features Tan-Luxe’s new Triple Tan Plus technology which they boast can last at least 10 days from just one application. The Future contains glycerin and erythrulose as well as a peptide complex and a blend of humectants
Paris developed the product’s scene herself – calling it Pink Sands with notes of cassis, violet and white leather.
The Future comes in a pink canister with a pink tanning mitt as a nod to the socialite’s signature colour and it retails for $49.

‘It’s a form of respect’: Celine Dion won’t borrow designer clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion won’t “borrow” designer clothes.
The ‘Think Twice’ hitmaker has a huge interest in fashion and she has always insisted on buying the garments she wears because she wants to show “respect” to those who created the pieces.
She told France’s Vogue magazine: “I have always bought everything myself. I didn’t want to borrow. It’s a form of respect. People pay to come and hear me sing, so I pay to buy myself clothes by designers.”
The 56-year-old singer – who has been largely out of the spotlight for the last two years after being diagnosed with rare neurological disorder stiff person syndrome (SPS) in 2022 – grew up wearing hand-me-downs so “treating” herself to her first designer piece when she found mainstream success and had first made her family financially secure.
She said: “I wouldn’t go as far as saying that I collaborate with the designers, as this would be very pretentious of me.
“On the other hand, I can say that, all my life, my mother mended my tights, sweaters, coats and mittens, all my little things for winter. I was very lucky, because I had 13 brothers and sisters, and I got everyone’s hand-me-downs.
“When I got my first paycheque, my first paid television appearances I bought clothes for myself and dressed myself.
“With my first successes, I bought a house for myself and my husband, and for my parents and some family members too.
“After my first album in English, I was able to buy clothes by designers, and I started to read fashion magazines.
“And then, I was a guest, and I’ll never forget this show by Karl Lagerfeld… He looked at me and said, ‘You remind me of La Callas.’
“I treated myself to a Lagerfeld jacket in the same way that people buy themselves diamonds.”

Anne Hathaway is a ‘guest’ of fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway views herself as a “guest” of fashion.
The 41-year-old star is a regular fixture at runway shows and takes an interest in clothes but thinks it would be an “insult” to genuine style experts who make a living from the industry to describe herself as a “fashion person”.
Explaining why she doesn’t think she is a fashion person, she told V magazine: “I really don’t. I view myself more as a guest.
“I think it’d be an insult to someone whose education revolved around it, whose life revolves around it, who has done a full fashion cycle in multiple cities as opposed to just, like, getting invited to a show and an after-party.
“I think there’s a degree of stamina and schlepping involved in being a proper fashion person. I’m very grateful to be a guest.
“I mean, I’ve studied it, but it’s informal.
“I’m aware of the history. I love fashion photography. And I’ve been welcomed for a long time and been shown great kindness and generosity by people whose lives it is. But I’m an actress first.”
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ actress may not be a “fashion person” but she recently spoke of how “thrilled” she is to be one of the faces of Versace after shooting a new ‘Icons’ campaign alongside ‘Oppenheimer’ actor Cillian Murphy.
She said: “I have met so many Versace women who are powerful, emotionally available, ambitious, substantive, funny, fierce, loving, singular, sexy, smart, talented, generous, very much like Donatella [Versace].
“I have observed that a Versace Woman is herself. I am so thrilled and honoured to be considered a Versace Woman and am overjoyed to reunite with the Versace family for another Icons campaign.”

Taylor Hill has ‘back-to-school’ moment at the Met Gala

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Hill says the Met Gala is a “back-to-school” moment for her.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel has been a regular attendee at fashion’s biggest night out, which takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and because her work means she has to travel a lot, she always enjoys the evening because she’ll see a lot of friendly faces she doesn’t get to hang out with very much.
She told People magazine: “I see friends I haven’t seen in forever. People fly in from all over the world to go to this. So I meet people from all over the world, and I travel all the time, and friends move away.
“People move to crazy places. And it’s like, ‘I’m never going to see you again.’ And then the Met Gala happens and you’re like, ‘Oh, friends!’
“So for me, that’s kind of where I get giddy and excited, because I’m like, who am I going to see? Which of my friends am I going to see tonight that I haven’t seen in forever?”
While she’s attended every year since 2016, the 28-year-old model claimed she has no idea if she will be at this year’s Met Gala on 6 May.
She admitted: “It always happens really at the last minute for me. We’re always winging it. So we’ll see.
“It’s a really fun night. Even when I don’t go, I’m just like — it’s fashion. It’s so much fun, and it’s just so cool. It’s our Oscars.”
Taylor recalled her excitement for her first Met.
She said: “That was really exciting, going for the first time. I was like… ‘What am I doing here? I can’t believe I’m here.’ ”
One of the brunette beauty’s favourite years was 2022 when she got to meet “queen of the met” Blake Lively, who she hailed as “the nicest person ever”.
She gushed: “I’m kind of obsessed with her.
“It was the year she hosted, and you go up and you greet everyone. And I walked down the greeting line and it was like an, ‘Am I supposed to be here?’ kind of moment.
“And she was just so sweet. She’s meeting all these people, and she’s like, ‘Hello, how are you? Nice to meet you,’ actually looking at me. And I was like, ‘I’m Taylor, and I love you.’ And then I was like, ‘I have to leave now.’
“That’s one that really sticks out in my mind.”

The collection is simply titled Sofia and many of the designs feature bows and pearls and colours including pink and white.
Sofia – who is expecting her first child with husband Elliot Grainge – recently admitted she’s not planning to change her wardrobe to include maternity wear while she’s pregnant.

Paloma Elsesser says designers need to create clothes for ‘all body shapes’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paloma Elsesser has insisted fashion designers need to learn to create clothes for ‘all bodies”.
The plus-size model has collaborated on a new collection for Danish fashion brand Ganni – with sizes going up to a UK 24 – and she is adamant the industry needs a major overhaul so designers clothes aren’t aimed solely at smaller sizes.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper: “A lot of the design afforded to larger mid and plus-size bodies is so limited. It’s isolating. To find the clothes that I want to wear and the ways that I want to express myself I have to be resourceful. I think that a lot of people in my community want the level of ease that’s like, I see it, I want it, I go into the shop and I get it.”
Paloma went on to insist the inclusion of larger sizes should be a requirement of all fashion brands. She added: “In the same way that all hairdressers should know how to style all hair – black, white, coarse, kinky, straight. You’re saying you’re a fashion designer? You should know how to design for all bodies.
The 31-year-old model – who has worked with Nike, Inc., Fenty Beauty and Proenza Schouler and graced the cover of Vogue – went on to insist there is a big market for plus-size clothing and designers are missing out on the chance to sell their wares to everybody instead of the few.
She concluded: “Larger sizes are always the first to sell out – I don’t know how much more evidence there needs to be. But what’s important is that there are images of bodies that look like what they’re selling too. That is a good start.”

She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “When I dress them, I always try to dress them like Rocky. I always envision dressing a girl, right? We all do as women, like, ‘Oh, I’m going to dress her in these cute little things,’ but then you get sons and you’re like, ‘What do I do?’ and I was like, ‘You know what, I have the biggest hack — their dad.'”

“It’s really fun, it’s cute to see my kids like wear stuff that… I made and designed. It’s really incredible.”
The Grammy Award-winning star previously admitted during her first pregnancy that fashion was still a passion of hers and she had to “defy” her changing shape with various looks.
She said: “[Pregnancy’s] a long nine to 10 months. You have to enjoy it. Fashion is one of my favourite things, so, you know, we’re defying what it even means to be pregnant and maternal. It can get uncomfortable at times and so you can dress the part and pretend.”
