David Beckham into fashion long before her met Victoria

OHMYGOSSIP — David Beckham was into fashion long before he met his fashion designer wife Victoria Beckham.
The 49-year-old retired soccer ace has just inked a multi-year design deal with Hugo Boss to design a series of capsule and seasonal collections for the brand, following in the footsteps of his former Spice Girl spouse, 50, and he insists he had an eye for style from an early age.
Appearing on the ‘SmartLess’ podcast this month, he said: “I was always into fashion.
“When I was eight, I was a page boy at my mum’s friend’s wedding, and I was asked if I wanted to wear a suit or tights and a pair of ballet shoes. I chose tights.”
David was contacted by CEO Daniel Grieder after the fashion boss saw his Netflix documentary, ‘Beckham’, and changed his opinion of the sporting legend.
Grieder told WWD: “David was always on the radar, but I didn’t know him personally, and until I saw the Netflix documentary, I wasn’t aware of all that he’d achieved in his life, all of the difficult times he went through, and how he stayed strong.
“The show changed my whole point of view, and I was convinced that we had to get him.
“I said, ‘Listen, we don’t just want you as an ambassador, we want you in a partnership. We want you to be involved in the design, and to do a collection.’ Then we met again, and discussed what we could do together. He visited the company and was impressed.”
The suave Inter Miami CF and Salford City co-owner’s first collection is expected for spring-summer 2025.
David has previously modelled and created his own line of Bodywear for high-street retailer H+M.
Last month, Victoria – who was known as Posh Spice in the Spice Girls – announced she is bringing an affordable variation of her eponymous high-fashion brand to Mango.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper: “For me, growing up, it was only ever the high street. I wasn’t in a position to wear designer clothes, my mum never wore designer clothes.
“Whether I was shopping or looking for inspiration, that is where we went.”

Robyn Lawley praises Sports Illustrated: ‘They don’t care about stretch marks’

OHMYGOSSIP — Robyn Lawley insists Sports Illustrated “don’t care about stretch marks or cellulite”.
The 34-year-old Australian beauty – who was the first plus-size model to pose for the publication in 2025 – was full of praise of the swimsuit magazine, which she has posed for countless time, and how they embrace bodies as they are.
She told Page Six Style: “Sports Illustrated has always been very positive.
“They don’t care about stretch marks, they don’t care about cellulite and that really helps me to love my body for what it is.”
Turns out, the brunette beauty had no idea she was pregnant during that very first shoot.
She recalled: “I was recovering from childbirth and pregnancy.”
Robyn insisted: “MJ [Day, SI Swim’s editor-in-chief] always makes me feel so good about my body.”
By contrast, Robyn previously admitted she was “just furious” when she heard that the Victoria’s Secret fashion show was making a comeback.
The show was revived following a hiatus in 2018 but with a more diverse range of body sizes, and the supermodel “rolled her eyes” when she heard the news as she questioned why that was never the case to begin with.
She told Stellar magazine: “I rolled my eyes massively. I thought, ‘Why didn’t they include curve [models] in the 2018 show?’ It was like they reverted to skinnier [models]. I was just furious. I knew girls who were going through [castings for the show], personal friends who were starving themselves; I knew the situation on an inside level. It was making me more angry. They weren’t fit and healthy, they were starving. [The show is] making this pedestal for teenage girls. I want [the modelling industry] to be more size diverse and age diverse … The day will come, I hope. My body size is still a challenge in this industry.”
When the show was cancelled after the 2018 event, Robyn started a campaign encouraging women to boycott the brand for the sake of future generations.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “Victoria Secret have dominated the space for almost 30 years by telling women there is only one kind of body beautiful. – you can read more in the link of my bio why it’s so important to encourage diversity for our future daughters sake. Until Victoria’s Secret commits to representing ALL women on stage, I am calling for a complete boycott of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. It’s time Victoria’s Secret recognized the buying power and influence of women of ALL ages, shapes, sizes, and ethnicities.”(sic)

She added: “I really wanted to focus on making [a tailored jacket] for this collection that could stand the test of time.”

The collection also includes a raffia bag for £170, sandals for £120 and a cream waistcoat with a price tag of £140. It launches in store and online on Tuesday (23.04.24).

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s former makeup artist trolled over her natural wedding makeup

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s former makeup artist was trolled for her minimal wedding makeup.
Daniel Martin was Prince Harry’s wife’s MUA on their wedding in 2018 through to 2022 and has been praised by him for the way she’s managed her own glam and styling with no help.
He told Us Weekly: “I feel like when I’m not with her, she has more room to play. I think that’s the fun thing when you see her, like, she’s in Nigeria right now. It’s just her. There’s no stylist, there’s no hairdresser. She’s doing everything herself and she’s so good at it.”
Gushing over her skills, he continued: “She’s so good at doing her own face. She’s her own person. It’s so nice.”
Sharing her favourite products to use, he spilled: : “I mean, she loves some blush. She loves the cheek. She loves a big brow.”
Martin insists people got to see Meghan for who she was with the natural look after he was “dragged” online.
He recalled: “At that time [when] Instagram makeup had just kind of started. Everybody was kind of doing that Instagram Live [and] was all about a full breakdown. And then the like, big momentous moment of the year: the bride shows up, wearing little to nothing, and I did get dragged.
“They came for me, but at the same time, you got to really see who she was, and I think that was the takeaway. It was that you got to see someone for who they are rather than the pomp and circumstance of the actual wedding.”

Eleanor Tomlinson embracing natural beauty as she gets older

OHMYGOSSIP — Eleanor Tomlinson is embracing her natural beauty more as she gets older after spending her teens using makeup as a “barrier”.
The 31-year-old actress – who is best known for her roles in ‘Poldark’ and ‘Outlaws’ – has suggested she would never go under the knife as she wants to proudly show off her changing appearance.
She told Harper’s Bazaar UK: “As I’m getting older, I’m trying to wear less makeup and concentrate more on my skincare. I’m trying to invest in my skin and I’m growing up with my make-up, learning what works now.
“I don’t have any judgement on people who have work done – whatever you need to make you feel great is absolutely up to you. But I think that we should also not feel the need to hide ourselves. We should celebrate that we’re all different and that we’re all beautiful, and to find your radiance within yourself. And not to use makeup necessarily as a barrier – which I certainly did when I was a young teenager.”
The ‘One Day’ star – who recently wowed in a £4,000 Marchesa gown at the BAFTA Television Awards – dyed her hair red for her part as Demelza Poldark in the hit historical drama ‘Poldark’ – and she hasn’t looked back.
She said: “I dyed it for the role in Poldark initially, and that was 10 years ago, but now it just feels so me. Because I became most known for that it’s very hard now to imagine myself going to any colour apart from this.”
Eleanor also spilled that she prefers to wear wigs when she’s filming to prevent heat damage.
She added: “It’s a lot of upkeep! But my hairstylist in my ‘normal’ life – when I’m not doing red carpets – is Katie Hale, and she’s just brilliant at maintaining the condition of my hair. When I’m filming, I try and wear wigs now to save my own hair from heat.”

Justine Skye’s bleached eyebrows are ‘not surviving’

OHMYGOSSIP — Justine Skye admits her eyebrow hairs are “not surviving” as she bleaches them all the time.
The 28-year-old singer-and-actress – who is known for her role as Annika in the hit teen comedy drama ‘Grown-ish’ as well as her music career – has admitted she is blocking out the fact the bleach isn’t doing her hairs any good.
Asked how she keeps up the colour, she told The Cut: “Well, I’m very new to the bleached-eyebrow gang. I’m a Virgo, so I really don’t want to see my roots growing in. Everyone says I can’t bleach my hair and eyebrows every single day. I’m like, ‘Are you sure?’ And they are sure because my hair is not surviving that well, but I’m going to pretend it is and be delusional for a little bit.”
When it comes to fashion, the ‘Hard Work’ singer is “not afraid to take risks”.
Asked what the fashion rule she swears by, she said: “This is so cliché, but don’t be afraid to take risks. You hear it all the time, but once it actually clicks, you’ll be like, You know what? I’m not going to play it safe anymore. Being from New York, I always wanted to wear black and was in that mindset forever because I was scared to get my clothes dirty. But I finally realised I can’t limit myself like that. And now that my hair is blonde, I’m trying to put more thought into what I’m wearing because pretty much everything looks good with the blonde.”
Meanwhile, when it comes to her backstage area at her concerts, she must be “locked” away from everyone for a moment of calm.
She explained: “I try to keep my space as Zen as possible. I don’t like to have too many people in my dressing room. I’ve been to a couple of my friends’ shows where the green room is just insane. That’s fine afterwards, but I need to be locked in before a show. I don’t want to be mad at anyone in the room because they disrupted me beforehand, if that makes sense?”

Rosalía is Dior’s latest global ambassador

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosalía has been named Dior’s latest global ambassador and is the new face of the Lady Dior handbag.
The 31-year-old Flamenco star has managed to make her music and fashion worlds collide as she has landed the major role at the luxury French fashion house after they used her track ‘El Mal Querer’ in their 2023 cruise show in Spain in 2023.
Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of womenswear at Dior, told WWD: “I immediately fell in love with Rosalía’s music. I then looked deeper into her work and was truly struck by her dedication as both a musician and producer.
“I was especially fascinated by how this young artist was able to reinterpret and reactivate the sounds and clothing associated with flamenco, transposing them to a more modern and contemporary framework.”
The designer added: “When we finally met, I thought that she would make a perfect Dior ambassador because of how she represents a modern form of womanhood. Rosalía is a young creator who uses her voice to express herself, her strength and her creativity, thereby developing a new language.”
For the Lady Dior campaign, she rocks a black suit, a white shirt and a beige trench coat, as well as a white beaded evening gown.
The campaign was shot by Dior’s longtime collaborator, photographer Collier Schorr, who said: “We set out to create a stage for Rosalía where she could practice/perform and play but also to daydream.
“Watching her through the moving image camera she almost directed me, taking me along with her and sharing this energy. She is so strong and knowing.”
It’s the first time since 2016 that a celebrity has fronted the campaign for the bag, which launched in 1995, and is inspired by the late fashion icon and royal, Princess Diana.
Marion Cotillard was the last famous face to appear in adverts for Lady Dior.
Dior also recruited Jisoo, Jennifer Lawrence, and Anya Taylor-Joy for a newer version of the bag dubbed Lady 95.22.
Rosalía has modelled for the hottest brands of the moment, including Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS and Acne Studios.

Sophie Turner recalls splurging own cash on Vivienne Westwood for first red carpet

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner splashed out on Vivienne Westwood shoes for her first-ever red-carpet appearance aged 13.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ star has recalled having to style herself and buy her own clothes when she made her first carpet appearance as a teen, and how she used her paycheque to buy statement designer shoes to go with her high street outfit.
She told British Vogue magazine: “The first time I walked the red carpet I remember I had to buy my own clothes. I didn’t have a stylist.
“I wore a Topshop dress and a pair of red Vivienne Westwood shoes, which were the biggest purchase I’d ever made because I’d just gotten paid.”
The 28-year-old actress continues to work with Louis Vuitton and is an inspiration to artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière.
She previously told Vogue: “The way that I dress is always aligned with the way Nicolas designs.”
Meanwhile, Sophie previously admitted she will “forever regret” the outfit she wore to Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie’s wedding.
She donned a red blazer dress with over-the-knee boots to her former ‘Game of Thrones’ co-stars’ nuptials in 2018 but she admitted it wasn’t her first choice as she had two “really classy” dresses lined up to wear but neither of them fitted.
She told ELLE UK: “I’ll forever regret this look. This was one of my worst looks.
“I had a fashion emergency. Both of the really classy dresses that I picked out did not fit me. It was a disaster.
“It was either the thigh-high boots or these nice heels but I felt like if I just wore the heels all of my leg is showing, if I cover up a little bit then… urgh, it was a disaster. Worst fashion choice.”
The British star – who has daughters Willa, four, and 10-month-old Delphine with estranged spouse Joe Jonas – admitted it wasn’t the first time she’d put together an outfit at the last minute, recalling the House of Fraser dress and River Island boots she donned for the ‘Game of Thrones’ season three press tour.
She said: “I don’t think I had a stylist, or I did, but I didn’t have an outfit for this event. This was a self-put-together look, no stylist involved, and I think I did a pretty good job.”

Jourdan Dunn is feeling the ‘love for fashion again’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jourdan Dunn is “starting to feel the love for fashion again”.
The 33-year-old supermodel has had a “love-hate relationship” with her modelling career as she felt like it took away the fun of her adolescence, but since working with a life coach, she finally “feels worthy” among her peers.
The runway beauty – who was discovered in Hammersmith Primark in 2006 – told the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK of her teen self-esteem issues: “I looked at it as something that had taken me away from enjoying my teens, even though no one forced me to do it. I guess I didn’t feel confident in myself. I had low self-esteem about my body – I was tall and lanky. Things happened quite quickly for me, but I wasn’t really able to enjoy my success.”
On what she learned from her life coach, she shared: “It helped me to realise what my purpose is and what my passions are. I love beauty, I love art and that’s what the fashion industry does.
“I never used to believe I was creative, but my life coach said, ‘You’re creating all the time!’ So I’m starting to feel the love for fashion again. Now that I’m much more confident in my body and myself, I feel worthy to be there among all the other girls. I don’t want to hide in a corner away from everybody.”
When it comes to shooting, Jourdan – who had a regal theme for her cover shoot for the magazine that was captured at Scotland’s breathtaking Castle of Mey – says she likes to be the “muse” and let the creatives do their thing.
She said: “I’m down for the cause, whatever it is. I love the art of it all, and the creative process. Everyone has a role, and mine is to be the muse, and to do whatever you want to create an iconic image.”
The June issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK is on sale now. Head to https://www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/jourdandunn to read the interview.

Louis Garrel is Dior’s latest menswear ambassador

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Little Women’ star Louis Garrel has been announced as the latest menswear brand ambassador for Dior.
The 40-year-old French actor and director – who rocked a classic dark blue button-up Dior suit designed by artistic director men’s collections, Kim Jones, to the Cannes Film Festival screening of ‘The Second Act’ this week – has hailed the luxury brand “an absolute legend in the world of fashion.”
He said in a statement: “Combining originality and classicism, Dior has been able to successfully live through different epochs, making it indispensable,
The designer added: “He perfectly embodies the French elegance. We are extremely excited to welcome him in the house.”
The ‘Saint Laurent’ star joins the likes of Robert Pattinson and Jimin of BTS as Dior ambassadors.
The suave actor has previously appeared in campaigns for Valentino, Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani.
Meanwhile, in an interview Le Monde this week, Louis admitted “I always doubt everything, including myself”.
Asked why he stays out of politics, he replied: “But I feel I express myself a lot. I always doubt everything, including myself. When I was 20, I was impacted by my encounter with a very brilliant man, who preferred Raymond Aron to Jean-Paul Sartre, because he got less wrong. And then, I think we’re still in a time of listening. When it comes to such intimate wounds, you need time for everything. A time to listen and a time to speak.”
