Emily Ratajkowski’s skin ‘freaked out’ at start of lockdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Ratajkowski’s skin “freaked out” at the beginning of quarantine.
The ‘We Are Your Friends’ hitmaker admits she had some issues with her skin when lockdown started but she has been using “this amazing snail product” and a retinol and serum to protect her skin amidst the current lockdown restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to her Instagram story, she shared: “My skin freaked out at the beginning of quarantine. I use this amazing snail product, and then I put a retinol on and this delicious [Dr. Loretta] serum after.”
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old model previously urged people to practice self-care whilst in lockdown and confessed she styles her hair to “stay sane” as it helps her feel relaxed and at ease.
She said: “A tip to staying sane is: showering and brushing your hair. Seriously, just do it. Maybe even put lotion on. You’ll be amazed at how much little rituals of self-care can help lift your mood.”
And Emily also believes there are “no rules” during the current health crisis when it comes to routine, as she encouraged people not to “pressure” themselves to conform to a particular schedule.
She added: “Something to remember is: No rules. If one night you can’t fall asleep, fine. If one afternoon you can’t seem to stay awake, fine. Listen to your body and stop pressuring yourself. Please.”
The ‘Gone Girl’ actress has been reading books during the free time during lockdown she has acquired, including ‘This Life’ by Martin Hägglund, which she credited with giving her “hope”.
Speaking about the title, she said: “Another concise (albeit dense) and philosophical book I’m enjoying making my way through right now is Martin Hägglund’s This Life. Hägglund devotes a lot of his argument to the value of time and the power we have in what we chose to do with it. He also argues that the finite amount of time we have on earth is what makes life have purpose. In a moment when many of us have more time on our hands and fewer things that make us busy and easily distracted, this is a nice text to offer perspective and hope.”

Jodie Comer ‘given up’ with makeup amidst coronavirus

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Comer has “given up” with makeup amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The ‘Killing Eve’ star has returned to her hometown of Liverpool for the lockdown period and whilst she can’t work, she is enjoying being makeup free and giving her skin a chance to “breathe”.
She said: “The film I was doing went on hiatus. When I came back home to Liverpool, I cleaned all of my makeup brushes. I’m waiting for the day when we can all go out and party together again. The brushes, they are ready to go! Right now, I’ve just given up. I haven’t worn makeup for the past couple of weeks. I have no shame on Zoom meetings either. When I’m on sets, they’re constantly reapplying makeup. It’s kind of nice to let my skin breathe. That’s my excuse at least!”
And the 27-year-old actress has loved makeup from a young age and has recently discovered more about skincare.
She added to the New York Times newspaper: “When I was in high school, I literally used to baby wipe my face. I’m mortified to admit this. Through my late teens, I was a big makeup girl. I was born in Liverpool, and I don’t know if you know this, but the girls here and in Manchester and Essex too, we love our makeup. I mean the full get-up. So much effort goes into all that. I loved it – the eyes, the full face. That was definitely me.
“Skin care wasn’t something I thought about much until a friend introduced me to a facialist in London, Jasmina Vico. It was through Jasmina that I became educated about the importance of skin care and how it can signal what’s going on in your body. Like now, I recently changed my contraceptive, and my skin has gone crazy. I didn’t realise how much hormones can freak out.
“I’ve always had kind of good skin – I’m really lucky. Now, it’s like, Whoa! I know, I know, I’m trying to not be a drama queen. Being indoors so much more probably doesn’t help and disturbs everything a bit. I think there’s something to letting the sun be on skin.”

Kim Kardashian West, Hailey Bieber and Karlie Kloss to walk in a lockdown fashion show for home

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West, Hailey Bieber and Karlie Kloss are to walk in a lockdown fashion show to raise money for the fashion industry’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fashion Unites will see a number of famous faces, including Adriana Lima, Ashley Graham, Winnie Harlow and Irina Shayk, walk in what is being called the first “self-filmed fashion show”.
It will be broadcasted on YouTube on Friday (01.05.20) at 4pm ET with models wearing clothes from their own wardrobes. They are to be styled remotely by CR Fashion Book’s founder Carine Roitfeld and her team.
YouTube’s Head of Fashion and Beauty Derek Blasberg is set to host.
Carine said: “As we face times of great uncertainty, our support for one another is more important than ever. Embracing fashion as the creative expression through which to support the health and safety of our global communities, we hope this show can offer a small moment of hope, inspiration, and uplifting connection. A modest contribution as our world unites to collectively weather the storm of this pandemic together.”
Meanwhile, Kim previously confessed she has gone days without showering or brushing her hair while self-quarantining at home.
The 39-year-old star – who has children North, six, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and Psalm, 11 months, with husband Kanye West – admitted: “My hair is a mess, and I think I’ve put on make-up twice, so it felt really good those days. I felt like a whole different person when I finally got up and got it together. It’s not always glamorous. There are so many days I don’t even brush my hair or get to shower, as it’s a different type of task when you’re now having to homeschool your kids and figure it all out.”

Virgil Abloh: Fashion feels ‘useless’

OHMYGOSSIP — Virgil Abloh says fashion feels “useless” at the moment.
The creative director of Louis Vuitton menswear and the founder of Off-White admits he is “inspired” by the fact fashion could “mean something different” following the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Vogue magazine for their Postcards from Home series, he said: “I’m inspired by the fact that fashion can mean something different out of the end of this. It doesn’t feel like it did a year ago. Today it seems useless, in a way: a new handbag, a pair of shoes. Getting groceries seems more important than buying a new garment that I already have 30 of in a closet. I don’t think of that as a bad thing.”
And the 39-year-old fashion designer is “trying to find some solitude” whilst he remains in isolation and has turned to meditation.
He added: “I’m also trying to find some solitude. You hear about these things: wellness, wellbeing. Meditating – that’s something I need to learn. I’m relishing the idea of not having to do something all the time, but that’s a trait I have to learn. I’m not wired that way.”
Meanwhile, Virgil previously admitted he is being more productive than ever during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said: “We need to show our resilience. This is the time to prove our industry is a valuable one. Not for a second will I cancel, or pause, or take time off the calendar … Everything on my end will proceed. I’m finding ways to work harder, more efficient. I’ve started another collection on top of the collection I was working on for June because I have more time.
“We’re at a position now where I think we can realign ourselves with listening to the consumer first and responding, instead of the previous model, which was sort of talking down [to the customer. It’s critical that we as designers and institutions and brands realign ourselves with the voice of the people today. That means what we traditionally know as a fashion image or an image to market or a video or a glimpse, I think can get more heartfelt. I think it can reflect the real public and humanity in a more seamless way rather than a projected idea of what a fashion image is or a marketing image is or a campaign is.”

Charlotte Tilbury could rake in £500m as her business goes up for sale

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Tilbury could rake in an impress £500 million as her business goes up for sale for £1 million.
Unilever, L’Oréal, Shiseido Corporation and Puig are all reportedly keen to purchase the company.
It is not known whether the 47-year-old intends to sell or reduce her stake in the business but she is listed as a “person with significant control” of her business Islestarr Holdings. The papers submitted to Companies House reveals she owns between half and 75 per cent of the company’s shares currently.
Meanwhile, Charlotte previously revealed she decided to make her own brand after working for others and realising she wanted to “game change” the industry.
She added: “I knew I always wanted to have a brand, a global one, ever since I was a child in boarding school putting makeup on. When you’re working for other brands, you’re working in their DNA. I had this frustration. Charlotte Tilbury can’t exist for other brands. I had to exist for my own brand. I had looks and textures I wanted to game change … [My magic cream] came about when I worked backstage with models who were exhausted. They’d have flared up skin from flying in from New York, Paris, and London doing 60 fashion shows. I needed a cream that would turn skin around not in 28 days, but 28 seconds.”
And Charlotte praised the “dream teams” around the world – at home and at work – for helping her create her own dream.
She said: “I have dream teams everywhere. At work, it’s the labs, the PR, the marketing, the finance. At home, it’s my nanny, my housekeeper, my family, husband, sister, and nieces who help with my kids. I’m lucky to have found incredible people that help make my dreams come true.”

Gucci supports wildlife animals in new campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Gucci pledges to donate 0.5 percent of its paid media spend to support wildlife animals in their latest campaign.
The Italian luxury fashion brand has vowed to protect endangered wildlife creatures with their pre-fall 2020 campaign So Deer To Me after joining forces with the non-for-profit organisation The Lion’s Share Fund in February.
The charity has partnered with various global brands to protect endangered species by aiming to raise $100 million a year within the next five years for animal conservation, biodiversity and climate.
In the latest advertisement – which will see a donation go towards the charity for every animal featured – deer, fawns, owls, blue birds, skunks, squirrels, frogs, hedgehogs, ducks and rabbits all surround the models as they reconnect with nature.
Announcing their latest project, Gucci’s president and chief executive officer Marco Bizzarri described the move as an “integral part” of their mission as a fashion retailer.
He said: “Nature and wildlife provide Gucci with inspired creation that is an integral part of our narrative through our collections and campaigns.
“With the increasing threats to the planet’s biodiversity, groundbreaking initiatives like the Lion’s Share Fund have the potential to be transformative by organically connecting the business community with direct action to protect our natural habitats and most threatened species.”
The campaign ad, which was shot by Gucci’s longtime collaborator Alasdair McLellan under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele and art director Christopher Simmonds, sees a group of models playing in a park with various wildlife animals enjoying the environment around them.
Revealing the shoot on the official Gucci Instagram account, the caption read: “#SoDeerToMe. An ode to innocence, when as children we revelled in nature and life is the idea behind the new #GucciPreFall20 campaign shot by @alasdairmclellan with creative direction by @alessandro_michele and art direction by @christophersimmonds. Kate Hudson has mastered home waxing

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson has “mastered” bikini waxes during quarantine.
The 41-year-old actress considers herself an expert beautician after tending to her unwanted body hair by learning how to wax amidst the global coronavirus crisis.
Appearing on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, she told host Andy Cohen: “I wax myself! I can wax myself. I’ve mastered it.”
Knowing the hot hair pulling treatment can be painful and sticky, Andy asked Kate: “Do you enjoy the process?”
To which Kate replied: “It’s not about enjoying it. I enjoy the aftermath of it.”
Her brother, Oliver Hudson also appeared on the show via video link and mentioned he has switched from waxing to shaving his pubic region.
The ‘Nashville’ star said: “No I haven’t done that in a long time, but I do shave and I put a razor on it.
“And by the way it is not as bad as people might think. It’s clean. It’s pretty. It’s good.”
Meanwhile, Kate has been gushing about how good her sex life with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa has been during the lockdown.
The ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ star insists social distancing is going well with her partner, and asked whether her sex life has been improved by the quarantine measures, she didn’t say anything but smiled coyly and sipped from her glass of wine.
She added: “I think it’s positive for knowing that I’m with the right person. There’s nobody else I’d want to be quarantined with right now. He’s just the best.”
Earlier this month, Kate revealed she “talks a lot about sex” with her mother Goldie Hawn, as she revealed it was her mom – who is in a long-term relationship with actor Kurt Russell – who taught her how “fun” sex can be.
In a joint interview, Kate said: “What did you teach me about sex? There are so many things. We talk a lot about sex. Surprisingly.”
Goldie added: “I said, ‘I want you to understand something about Mummy. I’m not a prude. I love sex.'”
And Kate replied: “Oh, that’s right. And then she said, ‘Sex is so much fun. But it’s better when it’s with one person.’ And that was a good lesson.”

Prince William helped Catherine get ready on wedding day

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William helped Duchess Catherine’s hairstylist get her ready on their wedding day.
The British royal couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony on April 29, 2011 and the duchess – formerly known as Kate Middleton – opted for a demi-chignon with loose curls before switching up her look for the reception with her signature style, but her hairstylist Richard Ward needed help to make her look like a fairy tale princess, especially when it came to moving a 500-year-old mirror he needed to complete his work.
Ward told PEOPLE magazine: “I wanted to show Kate the back of her hair [getting ready at Clarence House for the evening party] and I was struggling to walk with this 500-year-old mirror, and he just said, ‘Let me give you a hand,’ and I said, ‘No, no, honestly,’ but he took one end and I’ve got the other and we’re shuffling along with this mirror – he’s great, he really is.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary during the coronavirus crisis on Wednesday (29.04.20), and to mark the occasion they shared a snap of their special day on their official Instagram account.
It was captioned: “Nine years ago today – thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!”
It comes a week after the couple – who have Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, two – celebrated their youngest child’s birthday during the global health crisis.
A set of new photos taken by his mother were released showing the tot having fun while creating a colourful piece of art.
The photos were published on Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s Twitter account on April 22 along with the caption: “Sharing a sneak peek of Prince Louis’s handiwork ahead of his second birthday!
“We are pleased to share images ahead of Prince Louis’s second birthday tomorrow, taken by The Duchess this April.”

Valentino enlists Naomi Campbell for fall campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Valentino has signed up Naomi Campbell and a host other celebrities to model for their 2020 Fall campaign.
The Italian clothing company have signed up supermodel Naomi, Gwyneth Paltrow and Laura Dern to star in their charitable fall adds which will be benefiting research on the coronavirus.
Each model will be photographed by their family or friends they live with whilst wearing outfits from the fall collection.
They have all agreed to waive their fees and instead the retailer will donate one million Euros to Rome’s Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital, which is leading Italy’s fight against the highly contagious respiratory disease.
Also set to join the campaign is Christy Turlington and her model nephew James, Anwar Hadid, as well as Laura’s son Ellery Harper Walker – who she has with ex-husband Ben Harper.
The latest project comes from creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli – who is currently in isolation in the south of Rome – as he plans to celebrate community instead of “things” during the unprecedented time.
He said: “A big production was impossible. This sense of limits gave us the idea of creating something different. We are all lucky enough to do our jobs, so that we have to give back in this moment.
“I think that after this moment, we understand that we need people, we need humans. We don’t need things, stuff. So we built this idea of a community of people, my people, my friends, who share my values, the values of Valentino.”
The news comes after Valentino’s parent company Mayhoola – who also houses Balmain and Pal Zileri – previously donated two million Euros to Italy, one million to Spain and another one million to France to help fight the pandemic.

Gwyneth Paltrow accepts her grey hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow finally learned to accept she is getting older when her hair turned grey.
The 47-year-old actress has found confidence in her appearance now she’s reached her 40s, but she truly learned to love her looks after she spotted some grey hairs.
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, she said: “The more you know yourself and accept yourself, the more you accept who you are and what you look like wholeheartedly.
“I always think there’s sort of an irony that when you really accept yourself – physically – is when you have grey hair. I do think there’s a truth to that.”
The ‘Politician’ star also reflected on her school years and claimed she was a “little bit of a tomboy” as she has never liked to wear makeup and still insists on putting her skin first.
She explained: “I’ve never been a makeup person really. I always love not wearing makeup. For me, make-up has always meant that I’m going to work.
“I went to an all-girls school and we didn’t wear makeup. We weren’t dressing up for anyone. All through junior high and high school, make-up never became part of my routine. And I think part of that is because I was always a little bit of a tomboy. I like the feeling of having clean skin.”
Now, the founder of wellness company Goop has created her beauty line GOOPGLOW to encourage women to cut back on makeup and embrace their natural glow.
She added: “You can use them if you wear make-up and your make-up will look even better, but the GOOPGLOW line is really fantastic for people who want to get their skin to a place where they look naturally glowy and dewy and don’t have to wear make-up.”

Prabal Gurung donates 2,000 masks to frontline medical workers

OHMYGOSSIP — Prabal Gurung has donated 2,000 masks to frontline workers battling the coronavirus.
The 41-year-old fashion designer announced last month he was preparing his workshop to make personal protective equipment (PPE) for New York’s doctors and nurses when America fell short of equipment.
He told Fashionista: “When all this stuff was happening and I was reading about it in China, we started looking into masks … I feel like, when your government and administration fails, or when they’re not efficient, it’s a citizen’s job and duty to rise up to [the occasion]. I decided to reach out and get those masks.”
However, Prabal halted production when he discovered the hospitals can only accept certified masks, and instead joined forces with the COVID Foundation to deliver N95 surgical masks to New York hospitals.
He continued: “We partnered with The COVID Foundation to bring in these 2,000 masks [with] money I put in from our foundation and myself, because I felt like we needed to do this immediately. The COVID Foundation has access to the factories in China and they’re able to get it through customs and deliver it to the hospitals.
“So we partnered with the hospitals we wanted to go [to] and joined with them. They had access to all this equipment for medical workers, and based on the success of what they’ve been doing, I felt comfortable working with them. We did it in Queens, East Harlem, Brooklyn and local clinics.”
Prabal decided to help out the hospitals as part of his Foundation, which aims to instil a greater awareness of global needs, but wanted to ensure he supported doctors and nurses “responsibly”.
He added: “I started my foundation almost nine years ago with a simple idea of diverting the attention I was getting into a bigger cause, and causes that needed more attention than I or my ego needed. That’s how I’ve always been; it’s just in my nature.
“I wanted to make sure that we were able to do it responsibly; I wanted to make sure the right kind of certified material was brought here and handed to the hospitals, not just put it in a stock room. That was really important to me.”

Hailey Bieber still wears fragrance she stole off Justin at 18

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber still wears a fragrance she stole off Justin Bieber when she was 18.
The 23-year-old model and the 26-year-old singer – who tied the knot in 2018 – briefly dated in late 2015 and early 2016 before splitting up for some time but Hailey admitted that during that time, she stole a fragrance off Justin that she still loves.
She told Vogue.co.uk: “There are three fragrances in my life. When I was 18, there was a fragrance that Justin would wear, and I thought, ‘This doesn’t smell like it’s meant for a boy. It’s too good for a boy.’ I ended up stealing it… I still wear it sometimes to this day – that’s how I found that fragrance. And then there was a Laura Mercier fragrance, Ambre Vanillé, which I wore for a couple of years straight. And I also love a Bond No9 fragrance, called West Side.”
Hailey also revealed that she and Justin enjoy steam and sauna treatments together but she is not a fan of cold plunges like her husband is.
She explained: “My husband is much more into steam, sauna and cold plunges than I am. Guess which one of those three I really don’t like? The cold plunge hurts! But when you come out, you’re like, ‘woah!’ I feel re-born. It is tough to do though.
“Justin is very disciplined and really takes care of his body, but it’s good that, while we do things together, we can also do things separately, so I like to get massages. I used to not like them at all, and I found the whole idea of having my body touched by someone you don’t know a little squeamish and weird. But now I’ve found the right person, a woman called Sophie, I wait until I can book in with her, as she’s always very busy.”

Anne-Marie launching fashion company

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie is launching her own fashion company.
The 29-year-old singer/songwriter is eyeing a move into the fashion world and has already registered the name QOTM Clothing.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Anne-Marie is a savvy woman and is being really sensible with her money.
“She knows she represents normal girls with her music so a clothing company for real women could be really successful.
“So much of the fashion industry is targeted at stick-thin models, but her fans aren’t always like that so making clothes to suit everyone would be wonderful.
“The plan is for there to be a website and then get the clothes stocked in other stores, but it’s early days.”
Meanwhile, Anne-Marie previously admitted she deletes photographs and videos of herself from social media if her posts result in abusive messages from trolls.
While the majority of the replies she gets to her posts are positive, the star does get hurt by cruel comments, especially if the insults are about her body or the way she looks.
She said: “I feel like I’m really lucky in the way that I rarely get bad things, or see bad comments or anything like that. I feel like my followers know that I suffer with anxiety and all that stuff so they’re really nice but every now and again you get an odd one and I remove pictures because of it and videos that I post. Like I posted one the other day and I was in my bikini because I was on holiday and I got loads of bad comments. I was, like, I just need to delete it.
“I deleted it because it really affects me, the comments.”
Anne-Marie decided to delete her posts and also block followers who send her hateful comments because that is the advice she gives her fans and friends to deal with trolls.
She added: “I try and tell people all the time, just delete it and move on, which I do. I do delete them and I do block people … but it’s because I just felt like I couldn’t deal with it at that moment. There can be times where I feel super-confident and I can read loads of bad comments and be like, whatever I look great … and then sometimes I’m just not feeling great and I’m, like, I’d rather not have to deal with that and just get rid of it. It really depends on how I’m feeling and you’re always gonna get someone that says something.”

“It’s such a hard time we’re going through but reminiscing at home with my children, that’s been a nice part we’ve been able to do together.
“The first couple of weeks I was like watching loads of Netflix and doing lots of baking but this week we’ve been doing some clear outs.”

Chloe Sevigny calls for fashion shows to ‘scale down’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sevigny hopes the coronavirus pandemic will make the fashion industry “scale down” big fashion shows and turn people on to vintage.
The 45-year-old actress, model and fashion designer – who is pregnant with her first child with partner Sinisa Mackovic – has opened up on how she hopes the industry will change when things return to normal, and laid out the more sustainable ways in which she believes the fashion world could work.
The ‘Lizzie’ star also admitted she doesn’t buy into watching fashion shows online.
In an interview with The Cut magazine, she said: “Of course, people are tactile and they want to see things and experience things.
“I’m going to sound like a total asshole, but going to a show and seeing the garments is very different from going on Vogue.com.
“I love the escapism of it all. I’m very sold on a story and a lifestyle.
“I can buy into that very easily, and I think a show is a big part of that.
“But I also think there’s gotta be an alternative way.
“Scaling down is necessary and a very positive aspect of what’s happening, in my mind.
“Maybe people will just reassess how they’re living.
“Maybe less people need to go to the fashion shows?
“Maybe there don’t need to be as many?
“I also just think there’s too much product.
“There’s too much turnover in terms of people wanting what’s new all the time.
“I’ve been wearing vintage and consignment my whole life, and I’m so glad it’s become more of a thing.”
The ‘American Psycho’ actress also revealed that she is struggling to be “fashionable” during the health crisis whilst pregnant.
She said: “My boyfriend suggested that we have a dress-up day, but we never implemented it.
“Today, I put on mascara and he was like, ‘Ooh, did you put on make-up?’ “But it’s hard, between corona and my state, to be fashionable.
“That’s kind of gone out the window. I keep reminding him, though. I’m like, ‘People think I’m a really stylish woman!'”
