Vera Wang reveals secrets to her incredible physique

OHMYGOSSIP — Vera Wang claims “work, sleep and a vodka cocktail” are the secrets behind her incredible figure.
The 70-year-old fashion designer impressed her 2.6 million Instagram followers when she shared a photo showing off her phenomenal abs in a crop top on Instagram.
Her washboard stomach prompted one fan to write: “I need my stomach to be like yours. What’s your routine?”
Prompting Wang to reply: “Work, sleep, a vodka cocktail, not much sun.”
Over the past few weeks, Wang has been opening up about her life in lockdown after going into isolation with her “fashion family” in Miami, and has been indulging in doughnuts, pizza and even took a virtual cooking class to create a sweet potato frittata.
Wang is adamant she can maintain her enviable figure, despite not being a “huge exercise person”.
She previously said: “I’m not a huge exercise person, but I love to play golf at Liberty National, in Jersey City, N. J., or at Atlantic Golf Club in the Hamptons if I happen to be out there. I’m terrible but enthusiastic.”
Though she is a reluctant fitness follower – despite competing in the 1968 US Figure Skating Championships – being in isolation with exercise enthusiasts has encouraged her to work out during the coronavirus pandemic.
She recently told Harper’s Bazaar: “If you are lucky enough to be with a group of people you know so well and have travelled with so extensively, being restricted can bring so many positive and different nuances to the experience. All of them are extremely fit, which pushed me to ‘work out’ most days.”

Anna Wintour excited for the future of fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Anna Wintour is excited about the future of fashion following the coronavirus pandemic.
The 70-year-old editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine has insisted the industry is in need of change, and now the global health crisis has forced designers to adapt, she is very enthusiastic about what the future may hold.
In an opinion piece written on Vogue.com, she explained: “Fashion has talked about change for years and now it finally is changing.
“How will new collections emerge? How will they be shown? Not in the old ways, and I for one am excited about that.”
Despite her sadness for those who have been affected by the contagious deadly virus, Anna praised those who have already made the brave decision to step up and make a drastic change to benefit the fashion industry during the unprecedented period.
The journalist applauded Giorgio Armani, who has recently relocated the presentation of his couture collection from Paris this summer to Milan in January 2021.
She added: “What a benefit to Milan, which has been hit hard by this pandemic, and what a positive model for the industry in that Armani’s collection will be seasonless, reflecting Giorgio’s important statement that fashion must respond to this crisis by making less, and creating more long-lasting designs.
“I applaud what he’s doing and know that others in fashion are watching these developments closely.”
Anna’s latest comments come after she previously suggested “people’s values are really going to have shifted” once the coronavirus pandemic has passed.
She said: “I feel very strongly that when we come out at the other end – which we will do – that people’s values are really going to have shifted.
“I think it’s an opportunity for all of us to look at our industry and to look at our lives, and to rethink our values, and to really think about the waste, and the amount of money, and consumption, and excess – and I obviously include myself in this – that we have all indulged in and how we really need to rethink what this industry stands for.”

Grace Coddington wants to go grey

OHMYGOSSIP — Grace Coddington would “love” to embrace her grey hair.
The 79-year-old former model is famous for her signature frizzy red hair, but has considered letting her natural colour come through although she believes it wouldn’t look flattering with her skin tone.
Speaking to US Vogue, she said: “In my head, I would love to be an older person with grey hair. I think it can be very beautiful. But I think grey hair with my skin tone isn’t as flattering. I’ll just look kind of grey all over.
“Also, red hair is such a signature for me. You know, I’ve suggested it several times to people and they say, ‘Oh no, don’t do that!'”
Before the global coronavirus crisis, Grace would have her grey roots touched up every “10 days” but since being in quarantine she has been using a trick from Lady Gaga’s stylist.
She explained: “It’s grown about one and a half inches, something like that. So what I do is, I touch it up with Color Wow Root Cover Up. It’s a little trick I learned when I was shooting with Lady Gaga.
“Her stylist said, ‘Oh, you should try this!’ because my roots were showing. I was complaining about it and he said, ‘Oh, I use this all the time.’ And I believe he used it on Gaga because at that point she was wearing white blonde paired up with dark roots. The next day of the shoot, he came with Color Wow in my red shade. He tried it on me. It was so good! It completely covered it up.”
What’s more, Grace believes she wouldn’t be as “kempt” with grey hair as she has learned being a redhead helps to “brighten” up her look.
She added: “You know, I think on a dull day and if you want to dress in a kind of classic way, it’s something that just brightens up the whole look and just makes you feel more kempt or kept to have a strong colour as opposed to some wishy-washy colour or going slightly grey colour. I think it looks good.”

Twiggy: Fashion will always focus on ‘slimness’

OHMYGOSSIP — Twiggy doesn’t think the fashion industry will ever shift its focus from “slimness”.
The 70-year-old model – whose real name is Dame Lesley Lawson – believes fashion brands and retailers will always use thin models despite a commitment to use a variety of body shapes in campaigns in recent times.
Asked if the fashion industry needs to focus on women of all shapes and sizes, she said: “Well, it has, hasn’t it, there are so many more ads now. It’s the same with older models, they’re using middle-aged and older women in commercials.
“I don’t think the high fashion industry will ever go completely away from slimness but I think other parts of the industry have started to use different shapes and sizes, and I think they should.”
Twiggy was discovered at the age of 16 and was known for her iconic cropped haircut, big eyes and huge eyelashes, and the fashion legend admits she would take almost two hours to practise her makeup.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, she said: “It used to take me an hour and a half to do, I had three pairs of false eyelashes on the top. I’m amazed I could open my eyes. Then I used to paint the lines underneath. So in 1966, when I was plucked from anonymity into the madness it became, that was my look.”
What’s more, Twiggy revealed she was a mod in her teens which influenced her fashion choices during the 60s.
She added: “We’d look at all the other mods and see what they were wearing and then try to copy that. I used to make a lot of the stuff. That was the huge influence on me, fashion-wise.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Veitch regrets wearing heavy make-up everyday on ‘Too Hot To Handle’.
The 20-year-old model would spend plenty of time on camera creating her signature full glam look during the Netflix reality dating series, but after watching herself back she realised how insecure she felt having to cover up her natural beauty.
She told Refinery29: “Thinking back to it, I wouldn’t have worn such heavy makeup every day. I was actually surprised at how much make-up I had on throughout the whole series! I think it was more of an insecurity of mine; I wanted to look perfect, but I prefer myself with no make-up.”
Chloe felt pressured to apply a full face of products each day, but still worried she would be judged by viewers if she smudged her masterpiece.
She continued: “You’ve got pressure with cameras watching you all the time,” she says. “If your eyeliner is not there anymore, or your lipstick is smudged, you think, ‘I’m going to get judged so hard for this’ with millions of people watching.”
Now, the brunette beauty is determined to help others combat their insecurities by showing them they don’t need to cover their face in make-up to look beautiful.
She said: “I have got a reputation to uphold now.

She revealed: “When I was getting cast for ‘Too Hot To Handle’, I actually got a phone call requesting to get a meeting to go on ‘Love Island’ in London.
“But I turned it down because I thought… I know what I’m walking in to with ‘Love Island’.
“This new show is completely different. What if this new show is something that is more suitable and beneficial for me?”

“And luckily, I have my dad, who is the best personal trainer in the game. Of course, I never go to sleep with makeup on my face; I make sure my skin routine is intact. That’s something that I care a lot about. I love using products that are natural, that have natural ingredients, that don’t have a lot of ingredients.”
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old singer and actress previously confessed she feels “very fortunate” to have a team to “protect” her from the dangers of the industry, as highlighted by the #MeToo movement.
She said: “I think that I had so much incredible support from everyone around me when I was very young. I have had so many people around me to look out for me and protect me. Of course, any territory and any field of work there are inner and outer obstacles, and things you have to go through. I have been very fortunate to have the support of the people around me.”
Hailee previously revealed her music makes her feel “vulnerable”.
She shared: “As an actor, I’m masked by characters, protected by them. But as a musician, it’s my story, my voice, my face. It’s me on that stage talking about that horrible experience I went through and [saying,] ‘Here, I’m going to sing about it.’ It’s such a different kind of vulnerable.
“To connect with fans, there’s pressure in feeling like I have to do things that I’m uncomfortable with, in terms of opening up enough about myself.”

Laura Harrier: Turning 30 changed my beauty regime

The ‘Spider-man: Homecoming’ star made the decision to switch up her beauty routine after hitting the milestone birthday in a bid to stay looking youthful after previously strictly sticking to a combination of “clean” products.
During an Instagram Live with The Cut, she said: “I am into clean beauty, but I can’t say that I only do clean beauty.
“I’m selectively clean. Turning 30 I was like, ‘I do need to be doing more than just putting honey on my face,’ honestly.”
Previously, Laura had been using manuka honey to help reduce and ease any breakouts she’s prone to get from hormone changes in her body, but she has since swapped the natural sweet substance for a tougher cleanser.
She explained: “That’s what I did for a while and it worked! Manuka honey makes a really awesome mask. It’s antibacterial, so if I’m breaking out I’ll put on a Manuka honey face mask and get in the bath. It drips everywhere – you don’t want to do that when you’re sitting on the couch.
“I really love the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel pads. I get hormonal breakouts, and it smooths everything over. But I use the sensitive-skin ones, because the other ones are really intense. I’ll alternate that and Shawnee’s retinol every other night.”
What’s more, the ‘BlacKkKlansman’ actress is constantly stopped by people asking what perfume she wears but she actually gives herself a spritz with orange blossom oil from Morocco.
She added: “A good friend of mine went to Morocco and brought back this orange blossom oil that’s the best-smelling thing ever. I just use that. I had some a few years ago that she gave me and it was in a tiny bottle that I used all up.
“People would chase me down the street asking what I was wearing. When she went back she got me a big one. Hopefully I’m stocked up for a little bit.”

Winnie Harlow alters make-up routine for changing vitiligo

OHMYGOSSIP — Winnie Harlow updates her make-up routine as her vitiligo changes.
The 25-year-old supermodel has long been in control of beauty regime having been diagnosed with the condition at four years old, but she does have to alter her product use as the pigmentation of her skin moves.
Speaking to Glamour, she said: “This is a little backstory … The vitiligo around my eyes has moved a lot in the past few years. So people will always ask me, ‘How do you do your make-up?’ But it always changes because my skin always changes.
“I used to just put eyeshadow on top of my skin, but as my brown skin is coming back more on my eyes, I naturally have dark circles from both my mom and dad. I couldn’t get away from them – I’m going to have dark circles, no matter what. And because that area is coming back brown, it’s very, very dark. So, I tend to put concealer and foundation on my eyes before it starts. Because I did that, I warmed up the area a little with a bit of brown eyeshadow, just to not make it look like a flat foundation surface.”
Winnie started experimenting with make-up from a young age as her mother was “obsessed” with different beauty products, which promoted the model to once dream of becoming a YouTuber.
The Canadian model said: “I have so many products, because not only have I always loved products, but my mom’s a hairdresser. She’s a certified cosmetologist, so I have always been around a lot of hair products, and she has always been obsessed with skin products.
“I used to buy a lot of products, and I’d test them out, see if I liked them. I wanted to be a YouTuber when I was, like, 17, so I always [sit] in the bathroom by myself and talk to my “audience” in the mirror. Be like, ‘OK, so now we’re going to go in with this BB cream.’ Yeah, I do all that.”
