Kim Kardashian West to launch skincare brand?

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West looks set to launch a skincare brand.
The 39-year-old reality star has been teasing a possible skincare range for some time following the success of KKW Beauty and her recent foray into shapewear in the form of SKIMS.
And now, it seems she’s finally taking the first steps toward launching her very first collection of skincare products, as according to TMZ, she filed a trademark request earlier this month for KKW Skin through the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The trademark reportedly covers an array of skincare products, including moisturiser, cleanser, toner, facial mists, and body powers.
It’s not yet known when Kim plans to launch her line, but the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star said in October last year she’d love to venture into skincare.
She said at the time: “I’d love to [launch skin care]. I’m obsessed with skin care. I test so many products, and I love to try so many different facials.”
Kim’s plan to launch a skincare range comes after she recently became a billionaire when she sold a 20 percent stake in her KKW Beauty brand to Coty for $200 million in June.
Speaking about the sale, she said: “This relationship will allow me to focus on the creative elements that I’m so passionate about while benefiting from the incredible resources of Coty, and launching my products around the world.”
And following the news, her husband Kanye West took to social media to heap praise on his wife.
He wrote: “I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire
“You’ve weathered the craziest storms and now God is shining on you and our family
“So blessed this is still life
“So I made you this still life
“We love you so much (sic)”

Ashley Graham quits sugar

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham wants to give up sugar.
The 32-year-old model is planning on cutting sugary treats from her diet, after she woke up one morning and decided to snack on a brownie for breakfast.
Speaking in a video on her Instagram Story, she said: “Last night, before I went to bed I had a brownie, and now I woke up and I’m having a brownie. I promise, I think I have a serious sugar addiction.
“I think I’m just going to give it up for a while. Have you ever done that?”
Ashley then asked her followers for their tips on cutting down on sugar, as she wanted to know how to completely give up the addictive substance without “major withdrawals”.
The star was inundated with replies from fans telling her to try things such as replacing cakes and sweets with fruit, and baking her own treats using monk fruit sugar instead of traditional granulated or caster sugar.
Ashley then said in another update: “Thank you so much for all of your responses on this whole, like, giving up sugar thing because I think I would be lost without all of your answers. Holy cow, there’s a lot of information out there. And for those of you who are looking for answers, there you go!
“The amount of DMs I’ve had about kicking the sugar addiction is amazing. You guys are a plethora of information.”
Meanwhile, Ashley became a first-time mother in January when she and her husband Justin Ervin welcomed their son Isaac into the world, and recently said the stretch marks left on her body following her pregnancy make her feel “strong”.
She said: “When I look at my new stretch marks and the changes that my body went through, it reminds me that, as women, we’re all superheroes.
“I’m always reminded that our bodies were built to do this. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to give birth, but I didn’t realise it until afterward. Before I was even pregnant, that was always my hope for women in general, that they could learn to continue to love their bodies through the changes and the ups and downs.”

Jennifer Lopez to launch beauty brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez is set to launch her own beauty brand.
The ‘Hustlers’ star has been teasing a “top secret project” on social media over the summer, but this week she finally announced she’s been working on her own range of beauty products, which she will release under the name J.Lo Beauty.
Jennifer took to Instagram to share stunning pictures of her glowy makeup look, where she teased the brand would be “coming soon”.
She captioned the images: “Sunset glow…
“#JLoBeauty coming soon (sic)”
Nothing else is known about the planned cosmetics brand just yet, but the 50-year-old singer and actress is no stranger to the beauty industry, having already launched a successful fragrance franchise with 25 perfumes to its name.
And back in 2018, Jennifer – who has 12-year-old twins Emme and Max with her ex-husband Marc Anthony – and her longtime makeup artist Scott Barnes collaborated with Inglot Cosmetics on a successful collection of products inspired by her signature glowing complexion.
When she does launch her makeup brand, it’s likely her kids and the children of her fiancé Alex Rodriguez – Ella, 11, and Natasha, 14 – will snap up the products, as Jennifer recently revealed they have called “dibs” on her most famous outfits.
She said: “Sometimes they take dibs. Ella told me, ‘I want your white Grammy dress with the Orchid,’ and Emme is like ‘What about that [dress], mommy? Are we gonna keep that? Don’t throw that out!’ They tell me all the time.”
And the ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker also admitted that her biggest fashion moment was the famous Versace jungle-print gown she wore to the 42nd Grammy Awards in February 2000.
She explained: “I’d have to say the Green Versace dress, I think that’s the one that goes down in history for me. There’s been a lot of great moments that I’ve had with different designers, in fashion and in videos and things, but that’s probably number one.”

Naomi Campbell: People forget I’m human

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell thinks people “forget” that models are human.
The 50-year-old supermodel feels “blessed” to have had a hugely successful career in the fashion industry, but says that being a model can sometimes be difficult, as people don’t always treat her like a human being.
When asked by male model John Pearson in an interview for his MrFeelGood website – which also included Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, and Tatjana Patitz – what the hardest part about being a model is, Naomi said: “I don’t feel there was any hard part. It’s just, in our case, you have to adjust and adapt very quickly. Yes, I traveled a lot, at a fast pace, in one week, like you have. But I love traveling, so I can’t complain about it.
“I think people forgetting maybe sometimes that we’re human? I feel like I was blessed and protected in such a way. Azzedine Alaia, Gianni Versace, Yves Saint Laurent … I felt like I was protected by these designers, and by my friends you’ve included here [in this interview].
“I mean, yes, of course I would cry sometimes and be like, ‘I can’t do it. I can’t, I’m exhausted. I want to sleep.’ But then once you got me on set … I’ve forgotten all of that. And you just wanted to just do what you can do the best you could do it.”
Naomi has always been outspoken throughout her career, and says she has no regrets when it comes to defending herself.
However, the model admits there are some comments about her appearance that she still “takes personally”.
She added: “I feel like I have no regrets of always opening my mouth and standing up for myself, even though it was be perceived as being difficult back then, when today it’s what everyone’s doing. I don’t have any regrets about that. So I think the speaking up part was important for me then, as it is for me now.
“You have to remember, we are depicted for what we look like, but it’s also [hard] not knowing how not to take it personally, to [not let it] affect you as a person. It’s not who you are. What they think, or what you may not fit the mould of, doesn’t mean that you’re not a good person.”
And Naomi wishes people would ask her how she’s feeling more often.
When asked by John what question she’s never asked but would like to answer, she said: “‘How do you feel? How do you feel?’ I know sometimes people just look at us as … I don’t know … as this public persona. I don’t think they realise that we are human and have feelings just like everybody else. And I guess that’s because they see us in a magazine or on a billboard or whatever, and maybe forget that that’s us at our work, but it’s not us as who we are as people.”

Kate Hudson launches INBLOOM supplements brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson has launched a new range of supplements, which she claims are her secret to glowing skin.
The 41-year-old actress launched her INBLOOM brand on Tuesday (25.08.20) with a line of five plant-based powders – marketed as “wellness jars” – that claim to boost energy, improve sleep, clear brain fog, fortify your immune system, and prevent “stress ageing”, through a mix of essential herbs, minerals, vitamins, and adaptogens.
And Kate says her initial idea for the supplements was rooted in beauty, as people would ask her how she gets her skin to look so flawless, and her answer would always revolve around taking care of the body from the “inside out”.
She said: “Really where it started for me was beauty. Magazines would always ask me, you know, ‘What are your favourite beauty products? What do you do to keep your skin looking rested?’ My answer was always, ‘I know this is boring, but it’s an inside out job.’ ”
Kate’s products are also geared toward solving many of the struggles people are having with stress and anxiety in the current climate, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
And the ‘Almost Famous’ star says making products that actively work to “calm stress” was important to her, because she wants to help people through this difficult period.
She added: “Stress and anxiety are things people have struggled with forever. You add a pandemic on top of it and you’re going to have far more than you would have ever possibly imagined. Knowing that we’re all together in this is a wonderful source of support, but there are also actionable things you can be doing to help.
“It’s why we use adaptogens, herbs that calm stress, in almost every one of our products. Even with energy, you want it without the jittery aspect. Especially right now, we don’t need to feel more jacked up; we need to feel calmly energetic.”
Each INBLOOM jar is priced at $49 and are free of synthetics, gluten, and sugar.
Kate hopes her products will be “affordable” for the average person, because she knows some items in the wellness world can be out of many people’s price range.
Speaking to InStyle, she said: “With this idea of wellness being on-trend, a lot of things in the wellness world are quite expensive. I wanted to make nutrition accessible, affordable, and not too daunting.”

Alessia Cara: Skincare helped me through a rough emotional period

OHMYGOSSIP — Alessia Cara started taking care of her skin after going through “a really rough period emotionally”.
The 24-year-old singer has admitted she “never really used” to bother with a skincare routine, but after enduring some tough times, she looked for ways to practice self-care and discovered the importance of “caring for your body”.
She told Vogue magazine’s ‘Beauty Secrets’ series: “I never really used to take care of my skin. I think I started really caring about it around three years ago.
“I was going through a really rough period emotionally and I was trying to look for ways to practice self-care and so I started getting into skin care and realising how important it is to just take care of yourself and how actually cathartic it can be to just sit in front of a mirror and just care for your body.”
The ‘Stay’ singer ran through her beauty routine in the video, and said she likes to use products that help make her skin “glow-y”, including a concoction of different oil based products.
She added: “I love making my skin just look as glow-y and wet as possible.”
When it comes to wearing makeup, Alessia prefers to keep it simple, and says she sees makeup as an “art form”.
The singer claims people told her she “couldn’t be a pop star” because she didn’t wear “elaborate outfits and tons of makeup”, so now makes a point of keeping things simple to prove them wrong.
She explained: “People always told me that I couldn’t be a pop star because I didn’t have the ‘It’ factor because I didn’t wear elaborate outfits and tons of makeup, so I wanted to tell the world that I can be up on that stage and look how I want to look and it’s okay.
“People have labeled me as someone who is anti-makeup, and that’s not true. I just feel like makeup should be used as an art form and as something to accentuate parts of yourself that you like and make yourself feel good, but I don’t think it should cover up those things. I don’t think you should need it. That’s the difference. I think you should want to do it because it’s fun.”

Claudia Schiffer turns 50! The model on feeling ‘confident and happy’ in later life

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Schiffer is “so happy” to be turning 50.
The iconic model, actress, and fashion designer is celebrating her landmark birthday on Tuesday (25.08.20), and has said she couldn’t be happier, as she’s “never felt more confident or happy” than she does at this point in her life.
In a statement posted to her website, she said: “I’m very lucky to love what I do and to be able to pick and choose my partners. I also believe age should be celebrated and revered. There’s a reason we have cakes and parties on our birthdays, and I feel the same way about getting older each year.
“I am so happy to be turning 50 and have never felt more confident or happy in my life. I don’t try to look or feel younger, I embrace now.”
Claudia – who has Caspar, 17, Clementine, 15, and Cosima, 10, with her husband Matthew Vaughn – has spoken about ageing in the past, insisting that it’s “natural” to get older, and saying she doesn’t feel “envious or jealous” of younger models.
She said: “I’ve had many wonderful compliments in my time. But then you get to the next stage and you move on.
“You don’t have to be called beautiful your entire life. It’s a nice memory, but then the next generation starts. For me, it’s a natural thing to do, to hand over, to not be envious or jealous.
“I can’t think of anything worse than if you said, ‘There’s a magic pill and it’s going to make you look 20 again’.”
And although she’s happy to let the next generation of models take to the runway in her place, she credits her career with helping her break out of her shell.
Claudia – who last year helped produce the Elton John biopic ‘Rocketman’ under the name Claudia Vaughn – explained: “I’d probably still be a very shy person who had no idea I could overcome that by experiencing many things.
“I would probably be in a job where you can be in the background, in a bank or behind the scenes. Modelling was my therapy. I learned how to communicate.”

Zendaya plans to wear her Critics’ Choice Award look when she’s 80

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya wants to be able to wear her Tom Ford breastplate when she’s 80.
The ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ star donned the striking pink fashion item at the Critics’ Choice Awards in January this year, and has now hailed the look as her “red carpet winner”, noting that she wants to be able to wear it almost 60 years from now.
Whilst running through a list of her favourite things for InStyle magazine, she said of the look: “Hopefully, my Tom Ford breastplate will still fit when I’m 80.”
Zendaya, 23, also hailed Lancôme’s Monsieur Big Mascara has her go-to lash product, whilst admitting she uses a Philip Kingsley shampoo that’s perfect for flaky and itchy scalps.
The beauty also relies on Lancôme when it comes to scents, as she said the brand’s Idôle Eau de Parfum is her signature fragrance.
She credited skin cream brand Aquaphor as her number one beauty must-have, and said her wardrobe staple is a simple white t-shirt.
Meanwhile, the ‘Euphoria’ actress previously said she had a “science tech situation going on” with her Critics’ Choice Awards outfit, as the breastplate – which she paired with a metallic pink skirt, both of which came from Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection – was specially moulded to fit her body.
She said: “I saw it on the runway and thought it was sick and amazing because they were actually able to scan and mould my own body so it fits me the right way, so it’s pretty cool.
“It was very science tech situation going on, so it was very [one-of-a-kind].”
Zendaya – who accessorised with Mateo New York earrings and Djula rings – loves to experiment on the red carpet and has no regrets about any of her previous looks.
She added: “I have definitely had some of my own, like, red carpet moments — listen, I wouldn’t take it back, though, because you have to live and learn, you know, and that’s OK.”

Naomi Campbell: I wasn’t comfortable with scrutiny in early days

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell was frustrated at the way her private life was scrutinised at the start of her modelling career.
The 50-year-old supermodel’s career exploded in the late 80s and 90s making her one of the most in-demand catwalk stars in the world.
Naomi accepted that interest in her would grow as she became more and more famous but she was unhappy at the prying into her life away from the fashion world.
In an extract from her upcoming book ‘Naomi’, she said: “I’m not private about my work. I am private about my personal life, however, and it was hard when our private lives became the subject of such scrutiny. Who were we dating? Who were we meeting? Most of the time, the stories were a web of lies. I was dating someone very famous at the time and I started to understand why he’d become so protective of his privacy.”
Naomi along with her fashion megastar peers Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington were dubbed ‘The Big Six’ due to their huge success.
The British icon admits she was unhappy to be dubbed a supermodel along with the other five as it only increased their celebrity status and interest in them across the globe.
She said: “People had already started to use the word ‘supermodel’. Everything we wore and every restaurant we went to was written about in the papers. It seemed weird to us that people should care. We couldn’t walk down the street without people chasing us,” she recalled. “I remember we once went shopping in Rome and we couldn’t get out of the store because there were so many fans. The police had to come and rescue us.
“We had no idea why that was happening.”

Christy Turlington is proud of Freedom! ’90 video

OHMYGOSSIP — Christy Turlington is proud of the “controversial” moment she and Linda Evangelista shared in the music video for George Michael’s hit ‘Freedom! ’90’.
The two fashion legends were personally selected alongside other supermodels Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Tatjana Patitz to appear in the promo by George and the now iconic 1990 video was shot by David Fincher, who went on to direct ‘Seven’, ‘Fight Club’ and ‘Zodiac’.
George did not appear in the video himself and instead each of the models were seen lip-syncing to different lyrics.
In one famous scene, Christy and Linda each prick their fingers and join to become “blood sisters” and looking back on the video 30 years later, Christy believes it was a bold statement because of the fear and hysteria surrounding HIV and AIDS at the time.
Speaking to male model John Pearson – who also appeared in the video – on his MrFeelGood website to mark the anniversary of the song, Christy said: “I think the video captures everyone involved at critical junctures in our lives and careers, which none of us could have possibly grasped in the moment, except for George maybe.
“David Fincher had worked on other iconic videos but this was probably one of the last before his movie making career really took off. The song was an instant classic. Whenever it gets played in a room I am in, I feel eyes turn on me.
“Linda and I were the only ones who overlapped shooting the video because we had a scene together. It was pretty controversial in retrospect as we were pricking our fingers to be blood sisters at a time when HIV AIDS was rampant. I remember George being incredibly focused and in control of everything, but also fun in the moments when we got to just hang out.”
Cindy admits, at the time, she felt as though all her peers had better scenes in the video that her, but she didn’t want to complain to director Fincher.
Looking back now, the 54-year-old star likes her scenes and believes that Fincher perfectly captured each of the model’s unique personalities.
She said: “I was bummed I got stuck in the bath tub and then after with a towel on my head! But you don’t argue with David Fincher – even then. When I look back, I think we were all presented in a way that reflected us individually.
“My favourite memory was sitting on a plane on my way to shoot it, listening to the song over and over on my Walkman, trying to learn the words. I instantly loved the song and was excited to be included.
“I think this video struck a chord for so many reasons. First and foremost was the song itself and the message and declaration of ‘freedom’ for George himself. It also coincided with the ‘birth’ of the supermodel and brought music and fashion together in an exciting way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lili Reinhart has been working out to deal with her anxiety.
The 23-year-old actress admitted that she has been dealing with anxiety during the Covid-19 lockdown but has been taking steps, including exercise, to help address it.
She told British Vogue: “If you have gone through this pandemic without feeling anxiety, then I don’t understand you. I’m an anxious person and the past few months have not been easy. I’ve taken it upon myself to deal with my emotional wounds and trauma. I’ve been doing weekly therapy and having conversations with my close friends.
“I’ve had severe anxiety and depression dealing with the loneliness and lack of work. It’s been difficult for everyone and we’re all just trying to figure it out. I’m trying to write, walk my dog, work out on the elliptical and cook for myself. I’m doing the best that I can.”

Tracy Anderson launching virtual studio

OHMYGOSSIP — Tracy Anderson is launching a virtual studio for her clients.
The fitness instructor’s new initiative aims to mirror the experience of attending a workout class in person as closely as possible and clients will be greeted by an avatar of Anderson and her chief training officer Maria Kelling, who will guide them through induction.
Tracy told WWD: “I think that my whole career has been about being the future of things, really being forward thinking in health and wellness, and seeing where we’re falling short or where we could do better. My personality has always been, ‘Well, let’s make solutions.’
“I think the big thing with this launch is for people to understand that the technology of streaming is not new, but for fitness it’s very generic. There’s only a couple of platforms that anybody can be on and they’re not user-friendly at all. We always felt like it was off brand for us and we really wanted to make it better, but it’s a huge thing to create your own – but that’s what we’ve done.”
Tracy’s new platform also features a virtual locker room for her clients to get together and she revealed she was determined to keep her fitness community together when the Covid-19 pandemic forced the closure of studios.
She explained: “I shut [my studios] down really quickly, but you can’t shut down the way you serve people, especially right when they need it the most, because this is a big emotional shocker to people. It’s a big physical threat to our health. As we watched it unfold and get more and more out of control and spread more, I felt that much more passionate about bringing people together without bringing them [physically together]. By keeping them emotionally connected without having them next to each other.”

She wrote on Instagram: “Y’all know I love connecting with you about life experiences. For the first time, I’m sharing that I’ve had eczema since I was a kid. After a recent eczema flare, I decided to talk to my doctor and was prescribed EUCRISA. While your experience may be different, EUCRISA really works for me. That’s why I’m excited to partner with Pfizer, the makers of EUCRISA for mild-to-moderate eczema – to help inspire others with eczema to have the #EczemaConversation with their doctors like I did. You can get involved by sharing #EczemaConversation in your own way on your social media. If you or your little one have eczema, ask your doctor if EUCRISA could be right for you. #PfizerAd (sic).”
