Hunter Schafer loves seeing Euphoria fans recreating make-up looks from the show

OHMYGOSSIP — Hunter Schafer says it’s “really sweet” to see kids recreating make-up looks from ‘Euphoria’.
The 21-year-old actress – who made her acting debut portraying Jules in the hit HBO series in 2019 – had a hand in her alter ego’s whole look for the show and loves to see fans relating to the characters and expressing themselves through make-up.
She said: “It was my first time acting, like coming into Jules. So thankfully the team on ‘Euphoria’, from Sam [Levinson], the writer and creator of the show, to Donni [Davy], it’s been a massively collaborative experience. So I had a lot of hand in helping bring Jules to life. And, particularly with the make-up with Donni, we had so much fun just kind of brainstorming these abstract, colourful looks that reflect a certain scene or emotional energy. I think we try to be pretty mindful of how make-up can accentuate or contrast something that we’re trying to portray in a scene. So it’s a lot of fun to think about. We had a lot of fun just constantly trying to outdo ourselves with the design.”
The model and LGBTQ+ activist added that the make-up team for ‘Euphoria’ – which stars Zendaya as troubled teenager Rue – didn’t abide by any rules when creating the looks and wanted to inspire the young viewers to “have fun” and “do whatever they want”.
She told Vogue: “I still can’t believe it’s reached as far as it has. I mean, it’s really sweet to see kids seeing themselves in these characters and being able to try that on. I also just think, as a whole, ‘Euphoria’ approaches make-up with a creativity that I hope is encouraging of its audience to just do whatever they want, because that’s kind of all we did for the show. We were like, ‘Let’s do whatever, let’s have fun with it!'”

Jimmy Choo set to open fashion university in London

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy Choo is set to open his own fashion university in London.
The JCA / London Fashion Academy will welcome students from September, and aims to not only offer an education in the industry, but to give the next generation of designers the skillset to launch their own brands.
In a statement, Professor and designer Choo said: “The Academy has been years in planning, so we are delighted to be opening its doors this September. London is a global fashion hub and has created many of the world’s most exciting and ground-breaking designers.
“Rarely though do these designers leave higher education armed with the combined knowledge, skills and resources needed to create, launch and build brands successfully on the global stage. The Academy will help bridge those gaps and truly nurture internationally-focused and highly entrepreneurial design talent.”
The institution will give 100 students the opportunity to learn about design and entrepreneurship at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The footwear muse – who was honoured with an Honorary Fellowship by University of the Arts London in 2009 – will be hands-on with his role.
He told Britain’s The Times newspaper: “London is still home to me, so I’ll be in and out. I want to see what they’re doing. I want to talk to them, to make sure they come to the academy to study, not because they want to be famous.”
The 72-year-old designer – who was inspired by his children, Danny and Emily, to open his own college – added: “My vision for the academy is to teach them my knowledge for design, but also to have a business mind as well.”

Lady Gaga’s make-up artist reveals meaning behind her bold rep lipstick for Joe Biden’s Inauguration

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga’s bold red lipstick at President Joe Biden’s Inauguration marked the vibrancy of the special day.
The 34-year-old Oscar-winner dazzled as she gave a show-stopping performance of the US national anthem, ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’, as part of the event at the Capitol in Washington D.C. to mark Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris’ inauguration on Wednesday (20.01.21).
The ‘Stupid Love’ hitmaker wore her own brand’s Haus Laboratories Le Monster Matte lip crayon in the shade 1950, to resemble empowerment on the historical day.
Sarah Tanno, Gaga’s make-up artist, told Vogue: “While her make-up was classic and romantic, with the perfect shade of red lipstick, which felt appropriate for such a vibrant day, the rest of her make-up was soft and luminous.”
The ‘A Star Is Born’ star opted for an elegant braided up-do wrapped with a black ribbon and a pair of poppies to symbolise peace.
As for her outfit, Gaga rocked a Schiaparelli Haute Couture ensemble, comprised of a navy jacket and an oversized red skirt, the colours of her country.
The ‘Born This Way’ singer also made a statement with a golden dove brooch to send a message of peace and unity.
Schiaparelli’s artistic director, Daniel Roseberry, said in a statement: “As an American living in Paris, this ensemble is a love letter to the country I miss so dearly and to a performer whose artistry I have so long admired. Maison Schiaparelli is honoured to have this chance to dress the iconic Lady Gaga on this historic Inauguration Day. God Bless Lady Gaga and God Bless America.”
Ahead of the Inauguration, Gaga shared a snap of herself in the Capitol wearing an angelic all-white Givenchy ensemble.
She wrote on Instagram: “I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls.”

Bree Runway: Fashion gave me confidence

OHMYGOSSIP — Bree Runway says fashion boosted her confidence when she was a victim of bullying.
The 28-year-old singer-and-rapper was pick on in school but soon gained her confidence back and learned self-expression through the way she dresses.
Asked what helped her regain her confidence, she told Vogue.co.uk: “Fashion. How I express myself. I always used to say, ‘You can call me ugly, but you can’t say I can’t dress…’ But now you can’t call me either. Fashion gave me confidence, my self-expression.”
Bree – who has collaborated with Missy Elliott and Brooke Candy – explained that the nasty comments were based on the negative stereotypes of dark skin.
She said: “Now I’m older, I realise it was not to do with me – it was more the connotations around dark skin. ‘Dark skin is ‘lesser than’, so why does the hottest boy like you?’ You can sing and you can dance, but we don’t want to make you the Beyoncé.’ But I was. Like, I really, really was. Sorry.
‘We’re lighter and brighter, we’re supposed to be better than you.’ But, put facts by facts, I’m the better singer, I’m the better dancer, I’m the better creative. Certain people don’t want you to see your light when you’re a bit shaky in it yourself. If I was standing by it fully, do you think anyone could tell me anything?”
However, the words stuck to the ‘GUCCI’ hitmaker as she tried to bleach her skin in order to become what the bullies deemed socially acceptable and she subsequently spent thousands of pounds trying to repair her “burnt and patchy” skin.
She recalled: “But I was also swayed by what people were saying, because I didn’t know myself. Fair, I was like nine or 10, but I started to believe those things about dark skin, that’s why I started to bleach my skin. Look for products so people would be quiet. I literally thought, ‘Give it about two weeks… I’m gonna be lighter and everything will be fine.’
But the chemical reaction … no. I’ve just finished repairing my skin fully, which cost me grands. The first layer of my face was completely burnt and patchy. Grands. Maintenance isn’t cheap either.”

Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Skin line will be available in France from next week

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Skin line will be available in France from January 25.
The beauty mogul has just announced that her popular skincare collection will go on sale at the upmarket department store The Galeries Lafayette.
She captioned an Instagram picture of one of their shopping bags and one of her products being held in front of the world famous Champs-Élysées in Paris: “@kylieskin is launching in France at @galerieslafayette stores and online on Jan 25! @galerieslafayettechampselysees. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Kylie previously insisted it is “normal and natural” to have bad skin days.
The 23-year-old businesswoman particularly struggles with her complexion when she’s been travelling or if her work has meant she’s spent the day in very heavy make-up, but fortunately her own Kylie Skin range has the products to help.
Asked if she has bad skin days, she said: “Of course! Nobody has perfect skin and it’s completely normal and natural to get a flare up every now and then – especially after heavy glam days and when I’m travelling.
“My new Clarifying Collection has been so helpful for stressed skin. My Clear Correction Complexion Stick is literally a miracle worker. It’s a gel serum solution that’s packed with ingredients like witch hazel, salicylic acid and tea tree oil that target any unwanted surprises. I always have it in my bag.”
The mother-of-one – who has two-year-old daughter Stormi Webster with rapper Travis Scott – previously confessed she was thankful when she was younger to have her mother, Kris Jenner, on hand to offer her skincare advice.
She said: “My first experience was definitely with face wash! I went through that typical teenage stage and needed a good, simple face wash for day and night. My mom really helped me navigate through all of that – and she knew exactly what products to buy having done it so many times with my older sisters!”

Sir Paul Smith calls for fashion seasons to go back to just two per year

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul Smith wants to see less fashion seasons going forward.
The 74-year-old fashion designer has admitted he hopes the industry goes back to having just two seasons per year.
He told the Indian edition of Elle magazine: “I hope the fashion industry slows down. We don’t need as many seasons as there were. I would like it to go back to a couple of years ago when there were two seasons, and in between those, you would have a one-week sale period.”
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the fashion muse has worked alone in his studio and designed his eponymous fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection over video call, which subsequently inspired his team to make pieces that are “loose and comfortable”.
Asked how the global health crisis will impact the fashion business going forward, he added: “Clothing wise, I think silhouettes will change to softer and more relaxed fits. During the lockdown period, I was in my London studio for 16 weeks all by myself, where there are usually around 150 members of staff. The whole SS21 collection was designed over the phone and video calls, this really inspired us to make garments loose and comfortable but still presentable and of course, well made.”
Elsewhere, Paul shared his goal to “expand” his Paul Smith Foundation, which he launched in 2021 to give back to the “younger generation”, after five decades in fashion.
He said: “I have launched the Paul Smith Foundation to mark our 50th anniversary this year. The foundation is created with an endeavour to give something back to a younger generation. At the moment, it is an online platform where people from all different professional fields can come to find inspiration. I hope to expand this over the years to come.”
The homepage for the foundation’s website reads: “This is the best advice gathered and given by Sir Paul Smith over the past 50 years. It won’t teach you how to cut a suit, but it will help you figure out how to take your ambition to the next level.
“Please explore our regularly updated archive of advice, or keep scrolling for more insights and inspiration…”

Alana Haim always steals her sister’s vintage Levi’s

OHMYGOSSIP — Alana Haim steals her sister’s vintage Levi jeans.
The 29-year-old singer has confessed she always sneaks into bandmate and sibling Danielle Haim’s wardrobe to swipe her best fashion finds, as she’s the “Queen” of finding vintage Levi’s.
Speaking in a joint video interview with her sisters, Danielle, 31, and Este, 34 – who make up the band Haim – for Vogue, Alana confessed: “I have to be honest with you, these are Danielle’s jeans that I stole and she asked me earlier. She was like, ‘Oh, where are those jeans from?’ I was like, ‘They’re yours!’ These are vintage Levi’s. Danielle is the Queen of finding vintage Levi’s. She really is the Queen.”
Their older sister, Este, also admitted she takes Danielle’s clothes after she finds great bargains in stores.
She added: “There’s gonna be a lot of that in this video. Danielle gets the things and we steal the things.”
As well as having an eye for finding Levi’s, Danielle has an “obsession” with Prada Sport and spends most of her time on the internet trying to track down clothing from the brand.
She explained: “I have an unhealthy obsession with Prada Sport. I’m always on the internet searching, finding.”
Meanwhile, Alana previously shared how she refused to dress in an overtly sexy way after she was asked to dress in a schoolgirl outfit by an unnamed music executive in the early days of her career.
She said: “When we were first starting out, someone said I should dress like a schoolgirl.
“And I was like: ‘That’s not going to happen.’ We’ve always had a very strong sense of self.”
The ‘Forever’ group creatively direct all of their own shows, including the tours, the set lists, songs and lighting, and are proud to take control of everything they do.
She added: “We’re the CEOs of our own company … And it bothers me to even have to say that because so many people think that’s not the case.”

The 41-year-old actress debuted her shaven head in July and is now sporting a buzzcut with her famous catchphrase on the back of her head.
During an Instagram Live, in which she thanked her hairstylist LaMarr Randle for her new look, she said: “I’ve always wanted something cool on my head. When people see me coming they’ll be like, ‘I think that’s Tiffany.’ Then I’m gonna walk past them and they gonna see “She Ready” and they gonna know what it is!”

Burberry celebrates the outdoors with their autumn/winter 2021 pre-collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Burberry’s new autumn/winter 2021 pre-collection celebrates the outdoors.
The iconic British fashion brand has unveiled its latest collection designed by their Chief Creative Officer, Riccardo Tisci, who has revealed the pieces combine “the romance and beauty of nature with utility and practicality”.
Tisci said in a press release: “This is my uniform for the outdoors. My love for all the contrasting elements of nature has been explored and reflected throughout this collection, combining the romance and beauty of nature with utility and practicality. I have been inspired by the rich heritage of traditional British dress codes and given them a fresh perspective: tempering camouflage prints to blend harmoniously within natural environments, combining them with structured tailoring and romantic florals, broderie anglaise details and references to the animal kingdom. This collection is about mirroring the natural environments within its dynamic prints, colours and textures.”
The collection includes camouflage coats, mesh bodysuits, floral field jackets, cargo trousers, short-sleeve shirts and even jogging pants.

Jessica Alba ‘always’ felt like an impostor

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Alba’s husband, Cash Warren, has helped her overcome feeling like an impostor.
The 39-year-old actress-and-businesswoman – who co-founded the consumer goods brand, The Honest Company, back in 2011 – has admitted there’s been days when she hasn’t felt like she deserves the success she’s had, but Cash reminded her that it’s her hard work and determination that has got her where she is, and she’s realising that now.
She said: “I’ve always had this imposter syndrome thing – and I always felt like I didn’t deserve to be here.
“I always felt like it was God, and luck and magic that had got me here. But I think being with my husband [producer Cash Warren] over these years, he let me know, ‘Hey, it’s all the hard work you’ve always put in. You deserve to be here as much as anyone else.’ And over time I guess I’ve sort of let that sink in and marinate.”
Speaking during a discussion for #StraightTalk, an online series run by Women @ Meredith, a parent company of People, Jessica said of her 42-year-old film producer spouse: “My husband has the mentality of, ‘I deserve to be here’ — even though he is also a person of colour.
“He grew up in, as a minority, in a predominantly white Hollywood kind of environment; his dad being one of the few Black actors of his time.”
In 2015, The Honest Company – which started out offering natural alternatives to common baby products – expanded to include beauty and skincare products and was valued at $1 billion by Forbes.
Jessica previously said her aim with the firm was to “value” areas such as “health, wellness, and stability”.
The ‘Sin City’ star explained that “honesty and transparency” come first, because she believes customers expect brands to have those values “embedded into the model”.
She said: “I think if we can do anything for business, we can show that you could have a positive impact on the world, you can put health and wellness and sustainability as a value, you can have honesty and transparency as a value.
“I believe the reason why consumers are choosing Honest over others is because we have those values, not in spite of, and another huge aspect of our business is that we give back.
“I believe that consumers expect companies to have this type of value embedded in the model. And it shouldn’t just be a marketing ploy. It should just be who you are.”

Venus Williams loves full-body peels

OHMYGOSSIP — Venus Williams loves full-body peels.
The 40-year-old tennis ace is obsessed with the popular beauty treatment that has left her skin feeling smooth and glowing after three days.
Speaking to NewBeauty’s Winter 2021 issue, she revealed: “Last year I did a wonderful whole-body peel. When I was done, my skin looked unreal. It took about three days for everything to just peel off. My dermatologist in New York has incredible peels for the face and body, and the hands and feet peel so beautifully. And honestly, the butt peels so nicely, too. I love a good treatment.”
Venus likes to experiment with her beauty routine but refuses to try anything “too crazy” as she aims for “prevention” in her skincare.
She added: “I’m all about prevention. I love Laser Genesis or anything that’s going to help build collagen. I honestly like to keep it simpler and do something like a Laser Genesis treatment, some red light therapy, constant exfoliation and chemical peels. Nothing too crazy, but those sorts of things really turn over your skin and make it look beautiful. And if you keep it up and can continue your routine at home, you’ll be amazed at how well it works.”
Venus previously revealed she tried more aggressive treatments, like Ultherapy and Thermage – a non-invasive skin tightening and lifting treatment and a radiofrequency contouring method – for prevention but found they weren’t right for her skin type.
She added: “They’re both a little too painful for me, but they’re definitely two gold standards for anti-ageing.”
Venus has no qualms about ageing and insisted the only thing that could catch up with her, is the fact she never used sunscreen for “the first 35 years” of her life.
She said: “I’m really fine with it. I’m really fortunate to have really good genes, honestly. I think a lot of times it comes down to that and how you take care of yourself. I was very naughty not wearing sunscreen for pretty much the first 35 years of my life, so I just hope it never catches up with me! That’s all I can say.”

Lil’ Kim’s iconic MTV VMAs outfit was inspired by Missy Elliott’s joke about her nipples

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil’ Kim has revealed her iconic 1999 MTV VMAs outfit was inspired by Missy Elliott.
The 46-year-old rapper put on an eye-popping display in a bold lavender jumpsuit that was cut off below her breast on one side with a sequinned seashell nipple cover keeping her modesty intact.
And now, Kim has shared how the ensemble was inspired by a joke the ‘Work It’ hitmaker, 49, made about her always revealing her nipples in public.
She told People: “My nipples used to pop out so much on their own. They said something in a movie and made it look like it was planned — it was never planned. The girls used to laugh at me and Missy said, ‘Girl, your nipples pop out so much. One day, you need to just come outside with one nipple out.
“We were laughing, but Misa’s [Hylton] lightbulb went off and she just went from there. How the whole lavender wig came out was funny.”
The hairstylist had accidentally “oversaturated” the colourant and the blonde wig came out lavender.
She continued: “She was so stressed because we were literally 45 or 30 minutes away from showtime. She was like, ‘Misa, oh my God. I have to redo the hair, the whole wig is lavender.’ Misa was like, ‘Did you say lavender? Kim’s outfit is lavender. ‘It’s perfect!’ And I’m always with the s***. I was like, ‘Let’s do it! Put it on me.’ I’m always excited to see what I’ll look like in different colors.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Lighters Up’ hitmaker recently collaborated on a new fashion line with PrettyLittleThing to bring her favourite pieces to her fans.
She said: “It’s something I was working on for a long time, so I’m very proud. Y’all are gonna be like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s Lil’ Kim for real.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid has revealed she is obsessed with gloves this season.
The 25-year-old model shared some catwalk shots from Prada’s runway at the virtual Milan Fashion Week, where designer’s Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ autumn/winter 20201 Menswear collection, which includes gloves and other cosy pieces, was unveiled.
Gigi wrote on her Instagram Story: “Gloves are really my weakness this season.”
Meanwhile, the mother-of-one recently paid a touching tribute to her make-up artist, Erin Parsons, who has taught her everything she knows.
The blonde beauty wished her “partner in make-up” – who she worked with on developing her Maybelline collection – a happy birthday and hailed her as both a “make-up genius” and a “great friend”.
She wrote alongside a snap of Erin doing her glam in 2015 at Anna Sui: “Happy Birthday to my partner in makeup (she helped so much in the development of GIGI x MAYBELLINE collection) and while creating many of my dream-come-true glam looks, has taught me so much about makeup, makeup history, fashion history, old hollywood, I could go on.
“In my opinion, she’s a makeup genius @erinparsonsmakeup (sic)”
Gigi – who gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, with partner Zayn Malik in September – admitted Erin’s glam looks always boost her “confidence”.
She continued: “We became friendly & her makeup always made me feel confident – so, whenever I knew she would be backstage at a show, I would be quick to her chair.”
Gigi also heaped praise on Erin for working her way up from an assistant to Maybelline’s Global Make-Up Artist.
She wrote: “We met around 2015, on set when she was still assisting, we clicked pretty fast, I think.
“She remembers me as a really nervous and quiet “new girl”. I remember her as warm.”
In her next post, she added: “Since then, we have become great friends.
“She is now the @maybelline Global Makeup Artist, we spend so many hours on set, and glamming at my kitchen counter, getting to learn about new products together, collaborating, sometimes driving each other crazy, and always laughing. (sic)”

Jennifer Lopez shuts down troll who accuses her of having ‘tons’ of Botox

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez shut down a troll who accused her of getting Botox.
The JLo Beauty founder has made it clear she has never injected her skin several times and hilariously told an Instagram user to try being “more positive and kind to others” if they want to say “youthful”.
The troll commented on a video of the 51-year-old singer-and-actress showing the results of her JLo Glow Multitasking Serum mask.
They wrote: “You definitely have Botox. And tons of it.”
Jennifer replied: “LOL that’s just my face!! for the 500 millionth time…I have never done Botox or any injectables or surgery!! Just saying.
“Get you some JLO Beauty and feel beautiful in your own skin!! And here is another JLO Beauty secret: try spending your time being more positive, kind and uplifting of others. “Don’t spend your time trying to bring others down that will keep you youthful and beautiful too!!! Sending you love. #beautyfromtheinsideout #beautyhasnoexpirationdate. (sic)”
The ‘Waiting For Tonight’ hitmaker – who unveiled her eponymous beauty brand earlier this month – recently insisted her glowing complexion is not the result of Botox and she will hold off turning to “the needles” for as long as she can by using the best products.
Jennifer was involved in the creation of every piece in the range, including the That JLo Glow Serum, which took 20 attempts to get right.
And the ‘In The Morning’ singer insisted she would never put out skincare that she didn’t believe in under her own name.
She said: “I’m not that person. I don’t have anything against people doing that; it’s just not my thing.
“I’m more about a natural approach to skincare. Whatever topical I use has to be somewhat natural, but I want them to work. I want the hyaluronic acid in there. I want the things that are going to help, because I don’t want to have to go to the needles at some point. I’m not saying one day I won’t, but I haven’t yet.”
The line is comprised of eight products in total – which come in rose gold packaging inspired by Jennifer’s favourite brand Cartier – with prices ranging between $18 (face mask) and $79 for the That JLo Glow serum.
The ‘Made in Manhattan’ star – who is constantly asked what the secret to her ageless appearance is – also revealed that she has olive oil to thank for her radiant glow.
She said: “This has been something I’ve been thinking about for maybe the past 20 years.
“I was just, like, I have to do skincare because the number one question, no matter where I went – if I was filming a movie, music, or whatever – was, What are you doing for your skin? And as I got more mature, the question came even more frequently.”

Alicia Keys loves to do a face mask with her son on Sundays

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Keys loves to unwind by doing face masks with her son.
The ‘No One’ hitmaker – who has 10-year-old Egypt and six-year-old Genesis with husband Swizz Beatz – took to Instagram to share a video of her applying her own brand Keys Soulcare’s Harmony mask on her “little guy” on Sunday (17.01.21).
The Grammy-winner captioned the clip: “One of my favorite ways to spend @Keyssoulcare Sunday is having some fun with my little guy.”
Alicia recently vowed to “celebrate skin” with her beauty brand.
The ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ hitmaker – who launched the line in December – wanted to give people a chance to not only “explore themselves” but also fill their spirit and share their “light”.
Taking to the brand’s Instagram account, she said: “Wherever you are in your journey to greatness, welcome. I can’t wait to create this community with you. From celebrating our skin to amplifying our voices, this is a space to explore ourselves, fill our spirit and share our light.”
Meanwhile, Alicia previously admitted she felt “really self-conscious” when she struggled with acne in the past, due to constantly having to wear make-up for television appearances or photo shoots.
She said: “I’ve always had a challenging time with my skin and having to figure out how to manage it, and be in the spotlight. Having to constantly be in this crazy cycle of putting on make-up to cover the bumps and scars and then because I had make-up on under the hot lights, there were more bumps and scars. I felt like I had to hide everything and I felt really self-conscious.
“I struggled so much in my skin and really even being clear about my self-confidence and self-worth. So, it’s a dream come true, [as] I’ve always wanted to create something [like this] because I wanted something that would work for me when I was having difficult times; that would make me feel great and that was also good for me.”
