“I just love the French manicure vibe … While I’m walking down the Main Street in Rye, I think in my mind that I look like all of the women there – which of course, I am not at all like those women.”

Felicity Hayward’s ‘turbulent relationship’ with fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Felicity Hayward has had a “turbulent relationship” with fashion.
The 35-year-old model and body positivity activist believes the industry is in a “much better position” regarding offering people of all shapes and sizes more options to dress in, but has also experienced the other end of the scale and felt outcast as a plus-size woman.
She told Cosmopolitan: “My relationship with fashion has been like a turbulent relationship with a partner, if I’m being brutally honest. I’ve had really good moments where I’ve felt really loved, and then other times, I felt like I had been gaslit and pushed to the side and not accepted. I’ve been a model for over 12 years now so I’ve really seen the industry change through that time, from when plus-size clothing didn’t really exist, to the huge ‘golden era’ of body positivity when everyone was making collections that had extended sizes, to then brands taking a U-turn. It’s been emotional, to say the least. I do think that we are in a much better position now than we were 10 years ago.”
Felicity has launched a size-inclusive line with Simply Be and she believes body confidence comes from feeling comfortable.
She shared: “My style is ‘50s Hollywood glamour mixed with ‘90s Anna Nicole Smith – in trainers. It’s bold glam meets athleisure chic. Since Covid, I’m just in comfy shoes now. Everyone is wearing Sambas or Gazelles, but I actually can’t wear them because I can’t wear flat shoes. I need arch support! So I’m wearing Adidas SL72s.
“I truly believe that when people feel comfortable, that’s where body confidence comes from. No one feels confident in an outfit that doesn’t fit properly. So many times, plus-size women in particular, like myself or my friends, we try and fit ourselves into smaller clothing because there’s no other option for us. In a plus-size scenario, clothing needs to be in the right size. All clothing, not just loungewear, should be comfortable because there should be clothing available for all of us in our sizes. We all should be catered for.
The plus size industry gets trends a lot later than the core range. It would be amazing to get to a place where that isn’t the case. That was one of the main things [I thought about] with my Simply Be edit, I wanted to have a collection that had something for everybody.”

Mark Wahlberg wants to give back through Municipal athleisure brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wahlberg and Harry Arnett want to give back to the community through their athleisure brand Municipal.
The ‘Boogie Nights’ actor and his pal co-founded the “aspirational” sports brand four years ago, and they have just opened their first brick-and-mortar store in LA.
Mark, 53, told Fox News Digital: “Everything that we do is aspirational. It doesn’t matter where you come from, where you start, there isn’t anything you can’t accomplish if you’re willing to do the work. It’s how I live my life every day. Everyone who’s a part of Municipal …for us, it’s all about the dream, the plan and the hustle, making things happen.”
His business partner added: “I mean, this has been 15 years in the making. The very first time that Mark and I ever met, we started talking about the need to do a brand that was going to totally change the game with fashion, cool-factor style, but also the stuff you just wear everywhere.”
He said of their “surreal” store opening on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, California: “But in a weird way, Mark’s constantly multitasking, in the gym, outside of the gym, everywhere you go, stuff that goes seamlessly and performs better than anything else, and that was kind of our dream for Municipal. And here we are 15 years later, standing in the Municipal store, it’s pretty surreal.”
As well as wanting to lead the market, they want to open golf courses and offer benefits to local residents.
Mark added: “To create the most amazing athleisure brand on the planet for the everyman. … We want to create something that is very, very special. If you’re going to spend a little extra money, you’re going to spend it on quality. And everything that we do is quality, first, second and third.”
He teased: “When we build our first Municipal golf course, you know who’s going to get a free membership or access to the club and to the fitness component of it? All the people that work for the city and the state and work for municipalities, people who serve their community, it’s always about giving back. Those are the real heroes.”

Ryan Reynolds’ early morning workouts for Deadpool and Wolverine

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds worked out at 4.30am while shooting ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’.
The 47-year-old actor also produced the upcoming blockbuster so had to take the time to fit in his sessions with long-time trainer Don Saladino when he could, and even if the star wasn’t feeling well, he couldn’t take a break.
Don told Australia’s Men’s Health magazine: ““That’s what really becomes challenging working with these actors: it’s not like everyone thinks, [that] it’s all cushy.
“If he wakes up with a terrible sore throat, he’s puking, or whatever – it’s not like, ‘Oh, I can’t come in today.’ What are you kidding me? There’s a hundred people down on set right now.”
But Don admitted he is thankful Ryan has learned the importance of rest days when it comes to his exercise regime.
He said: “This is a guy that ‘going easy’ doesn’t exist in his vocabulary.
“So when someone like that is thinking about taking a day off and recovering, I’m patting myself on my back, because we’ve taught him to understand that [recovery is] really important.”
The strength coach has worked with the actor for 15 years, and his approach with Ryan ahead of his third outing as Deadpool was different to when they began their sessions because of the star’s advancing age.
He explained: “Every movie, we implemented new things, and we had a little bit of a different mindset.
“What really became interesting with this project is that that word ‘resiliency’ was something I feel like he embraced a lot more. He’s now 47 and he’s definitely thinking a little bit differently than he was when I met him, when he was 32 or 33.”

She told HELLO! Fashion Monthly magazine: “It’s coming in December, hopefully.
“I have been trailing different scents for months and months.

She added: “I have done fragrances before, with my ex-husband and my sisters, but the pressure’s on me now.
“It’s a lot on my shoulders but I think I’m coming up with something really beautiful.
“It’s just taking time because I’m a perfectionist.”
Khloe has also been working with Tatti Lashes and she admitted she is always “really careful” about which brands she teams up with because she feels a “responsibility” towards her fans.
She said: “It was serendipitous in a way. I’ve been a fan of Tatti Lashes for years. They’re what I use in my everyday life.
“We get asked to do deals all the time and I say no because I have a responsibility to my followers.
“I mean, I can’t tell you I was that responsible 20 years ago, when I was new and green but that was a different time.
Now, I’m really careful with what I choose to do because I’m so aware of how much money it costs to buy anything these days.”

Gwyneth Paltrow opens new Goop store offering facials

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow has opened a new Goop store offering facial treatments.
The Hollywood actress stepped away from the movie industry in recent years to focus on her wellness brand – which she launched in 2008 as a newsletter and grew to become a successful online business – and she has now opened the company’s sixth retail store which has a treatment room to offer luxury beauty services to customers.
Matthew Blythe, senior director of retail operations and development at Goop, told WWD.com Gwyneth had a “pipe dream … [to open] an experiential facial room.”
The new store in the Bay Area at the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur, California features the star’s longed for treatment room, which is set to open at an unconfirmed date after the store’s official opening on Friday (05.07.24).
Blythe added: “Early on, when we were designing the store, we baked it in and designed that into the layout. We’ve never done something like this before.
“We have offered sometimes trunk shows where we’ve done limited facials in the store, but this is a completely new concept …
“It’s something that we’re working on to make sure that we get right – having a focused aesthetician that we can offer, an experience which goes a step further in educating the customer and also just giving them an amazing time in the space as well.”
Goop also has retail stores Brentwood in Los Angeles, Sag Harbor in New York, Santa Barbara, California, Mauna Lani in Hawaii and New York City.
Blythe went on to reveal there are plans to open up to 20 more stores in the US in locations such as Greenwich, Connecticut, Palm Beach in Floria and in Texas with the company hoping to launch three new stores a year.
He added: “Greenwich has always been on my radar. Palm Beach, Aspen, and even areas within Texas. There’s just such amazing shopping locations there. So those four are probably the ones that I think are the most exciting and sort of no-brainer locations for us to move into.”

She gushed: “Idris for sure is effortless, timeless and sexy to me. He doesn’t even have to lift a finger.
“He just walks out the door, this confident sexy guy. He can be in a pair of flip-flops and sweats and I’m just like, ‘Wow, you’re going to make best-dressed lists.’ And he always does. He’s effortless.”
Meanwhile, Idris loves 35-year-old Sabrina’s “elegant” look.
He said: “I think Sabrina is fresh because she loves the newest and coolest. And she’s elegant no matter what she puts on, whether it’s sweatpants or a ball gown, she looks elegant.”

His wife added: “We did it in a way that just felt so natural, so easy and that showcases Black love in a way I think isn’t seen enough — I love the idea of that.”

Miley Cyrus hiked to Hollywood sign in heels for Gucci shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus hiked up to the Hollywood sign in high-heels to shoot her latest campaign for Gucci fragrances.
The 31-year-old pop star has been the face of the brand’s Gucci Flora perfumes since 2021 and she stars in the latest advertising shots for new scent Gorgeous Orchid Eau De Parfum – and Miley revealed she hiked up a steep hill above Los Angeles in painful shoes to pose in front of the city’s famous sign.
Recalling a conversation about the shoot with her godmother Dolly Parton, Miley explained: “When I told my godmother, Dolly, that I hiked to the Hollywood sign in heels, she said, ‘Honey, I do everything in heels!'”
Miley added of the shoot: “To me, the Hollywood sign represents making dreams a reality. I love John Lennon’s quote ‘A dream we dream alone is just a dream, but a dream we dream together becomes reality.’ L.A. is all about making magic happen.”
The campaign features stills set by the sign as well as a video which shows Miley running through walls of flowers and even swimming in a pair of towering stilettos.
A statement from Gucci added: “Set against the iconic Hollywood sign, Miley Cyrus appears in the new Gucci Flora campaign inspired by the empowering joy of connecting with one’s own creativity in a natural environment. Envisioned by Sabato De Sarno, the imagery introduces Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid, the House’s first ozonic floral gourmand scent.”
The range focuses on floral scenes and Miley added to Vogue that flowers are a huge part of her life. She explained: “[I have peonies at home] because they are my mom’s favourite and remind me of her …
“I have two tattoos of flowers. One is a rose, because its petals are beautiful, but the stem is strong and sometimes sharp. A rose protects itself; it’s vulnerable but powerful. Two things I wish to represent.”

Kinds of Kindness designers had to take online ‘deep dive’ to source Willem Defoe’s outfit

OHMYGOSSIP — Willem Dafoe’s ‘Kinds of Kindness’ costume came from a “really weird deep dive on Amazon”.
The 68-year-old actor memorably wears a bizarre orange bikini in the third story of his new movie, and costume designer Jennifer Johnson admitted it took some extensive searching to find the right piece for the character.
She told Harper’s Bazaar.com: “That is what I call an ‘Amazon weirdo’ —when you do a really weird deep dive on Amazon because the character requires something you can’t find on this planet.
“It’s not a Speedo, it’s questionable where it was made, and while I don’t like to promote shopping on Amazon and am very aware of the environmental impact of what we do, sometimes the character just needs that weird thing off Amazon and you go down this rabbit hole.”
Jennifer insisted it is important to “method shop” and find pieces that are true to the characters.
Speaking of how Emma Stone’s character wears a suit which is “the kind of Calvin Klein you buy at Macy’s” and shirts from Old Navy, she said: “Just like how there are method actors, I think it’s important to method shop.
“When you’re sourcing from the stores, it’s really important that it be true to that character.
“In the film, Emma’s character is in the United States and she comes from a very suburban, modest life and you see parts of her home life with her daughter and husband and they have this cute cottage.
“She has a good life—but she’s not somebody with a lot of money or high fashion. It would’ve been disingenuous if that suit was really expensive.
“We chose not to tailor the pants, and they didn’t fit perfectly, and that was all intentional… There’s depth of choice with everything. It’s not just, ‘Oh, this is cool.’ ”
The fashion expert admitted it was “very challenging” arranging costumes because of the movie’s tryptich format, with each story featuring the same actors in very different roles.
She said: “It was very challenging. I had to make strong delineations because the same actors are in each story and we had a very tight [production] schedule.
“By making a set of rules that paid attention to colour and pattern that were special to each character really helped.
“Using the themes of power and influence and subversive control as different decision makers of why people wear what they did in each story.”

Diane von Furstenberg’s advises being ‘true to yourself’

OHMYGOSSIP — Diane von Furstenberg says “liking yourself” is the most important thing.
The 77-year-old fashion designer insisted that nothing is as important as self-love and said it is the only way that people can be “free”.
Speaking on the Business of Fashion podcast, she said: “The most important thing is to work hard at being true to yourself and liking yourself. If you are true to yourself, you are free.”
And, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who has directed the new documentary ‘Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge’, said: “Women are defined by society and placed in boxes and labels, and sometimes are forced to make decisions that they don’t want to. Diane’s story coming at a time like this is so important because it is an anthem of freedom.”
She added: “This is a story about a woman who faced adversity and rose up each time. I feel like all my films are about women who are faced with extraordinary circumstances. And Diane fits right at the heart of it.”
Diane also explained that the documentary is a powerful tribute to her mother’s resilience.
She said: ““It’s about this woman who refused to die, who refused to be a victim, who told me never to be afraid, who never told me to be careful, who wanted me to have a big life. When you have a strong mother, you know, and you’re being told that you are her torch of freedom. That torch could be heavy. But that’s what was given to me. And I honoured her.”

Referencing the 77-year old Belgian fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg, she added: “Diane von Fürstenberg taught me how to do that – how to wake up in the morning and look at myself and be happy to see myself and say nice things to myself instead of terrible things to myself.
“She really taught me about the importance of becoming your own best friend. And that really is how you relate to yourself and things you say to yourself.”

Kylie Kelce’s go-to mascara

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Kelce has been using the same brand of mascara since high school.
The 32-year-old star – who is married to former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce – revealed she won’t wear any brand except Covergirl’s Lash Blast Volume mascara.
She told The Strategist: “I’ve been using this since high school when I started wearing makeup. I’m not a makeup-every-day person, but I have to have mascara. I will not wear any other brand. If I forget to pack it, I can just run into any local pharmacy, and it’s usually there. The orange tube is my tried and true because it gives me volume. One time in a pinch I had to get the green one, which was just fine. I’m not being mean about that one, but the orange is top-tier.”
And, the busy mom-of-three revealed she relies on Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo to keep her hair looking good.
She said: “I used to not be faithful to any one dry shampoo. Then I tried Living Proof. It goes on so lightly and doesn’t turn your hair that chalky white that a lot of other ones do. I was looking for all these tips and tricks on applying it, like spraying it in before bed so it’ll sort of sink in better. There was a whole laundry list of things I found, but I don’t need to do any of that with this. I just get up, spray it on my hair, and go. For someone like me who sometimes has approximately 45 seconds to get ready with kids standing by, this is the kind of support I need.”

Perrie Edwards struggles to eat healthy

OHMYGOSSIP — Perrie Edwards struggles to eat healthy.
The 30-year-old singer admitted she can’t resist a Five Guys order but insisted she justifies it because she does so much dancing when she’s on tour.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on the ‘Dish from Waitrose’ podcast. she said: “I, honestly, I’ve tried to be that girly, I’ve tried, I can’t. I can’t. And I’ll be like, I’m eating healthy, nobody talk to me, and then I’m like, ‘Five Guys, what’s going on?’ I literally, I’m a foodie and I do try to eat healthy.
“But I, the countdown to tour, I’m like, but I’m exercising, therefore I can eat more. That’s the rule. So the more we’re dancing and the more we’re learning, the more I’m physical, the more I can put it away. So that’s how I work. But I should be more healthy.”
Perrie also said she never eats dairy before singing.
She said: “So when I’m singing on the days that I’m singing, I can’t have anything dairy. I’m like, no dairy for me. Only oat milk.”
And, although Perrie revealed she has no sense of smell, she insisted it has never affected her sense of taste.
She said: “It’s so weird. They did so many tests on me growing up, but the thing is, I didn’t know I had no sense of smell. So I’d grow up and like me and my brother, at one point we shared a room, we had bunk beds, and he’d be like, ‘Oh, mum’s making bacon butties,’ and I’d be like, ‘How do you know that?’ And like, he’d walk in and go, ‘Mum’s making spag bol,’ and I’d think, wow, he’s powerful. How does he know this information? It used to honestly-really confused me as a child, and I never thought oh he can smell it.
“And one time our house was on fire. I couldn’t smell it. Yeah, our kitchen had set on fire. No, I saw the black smoke come under the door. And then I started coughing and then I was like, [gasps], ‘cause it takes your breath away. So then at that point my mum took me to the hospital. And they, no, they did tests on me, so I could taste everything. But I couldn’t smell. So they were like, there must be a disconnect going from my nose to my brain or something. And I’m not, I’m not understanding the process, but I can taste everything, which is why I love food so much. Praise the Lord.”

Khloe Kardashian explains how to apply false eyelashes

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian has shared her top tips on how to apply false eyelashes properly.
The 40-year-old reality TV star has confessed she’s a huge fan of falsies and decided to collaborate with British brand Tatti Lashes to create her own collection because they’re a product she uses regularly in her “everyday life” – and she’s now offered up her best advice on how to get them right.
Khloe told Hello! magazine: “I love clusters for my day-to-day, I think you can just play around with them a bit more. But if I’m doing a red carpet or something, a strip is perfect for that. I can apply individuals but a strip is a little harder for me. I have tips though … ”
She went on to share her advice, saying: “Always apply your mascara prior. Okay? The lashes will blend better.
“Then you can go ahead and apply some more mascara after, if you wish. But not too much, otherwise it gets clumpy.”
Khloe went on to add: “Then with lash glue, let it sit for a few minutes so it’s tacky. And the glue goes a long way people, just doing little dots is great – don’t do the whole line if you’re not planning on wearing the lashes for hours and hours.”
She finished by saying: “Lastly, if I don’t put them on perfectly, while the glue’s still tacky I use the applicator tool to squeeze the lashes together – it will shift the band right onto your lash line.”
Khloe’s collection for Tatti Lashes includes Pre-Mapped Individual Clusters for £10.95 and the Secret Admirer Lash Strip for £9.95. The range also includes a lash glue and remover as well as an applicator tool.
