Gemma Chan’s daily style is ‘low-key and laidback’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Chan says her everyday style is “low-key and quite laid back” due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The ‘Eternals’ star admitted she got used to comfy clothes during lockdown last year and she’s maintained that “vibe” when she’s not working.
She told HarpersBazaar.com: “My day-to-day style hasn’t changed that much. I’m fairly low-key and quite laidback, particularly now having been in tracksuits with comfortable elasticated waists for over a year. I’m very much still in that vibe when I’m in my downtime.”
However, the ‘Humans’ star admits to be “lucky” to get to be more daring while at star-studded events with both “established” and “emerging” designers, ranging from Oscar De La Renta and Zuhair Murad to Miss Sohee and Casablanca.
She added: “But, I’ve been lucky enough to be able to take more risks on the red carpet and go for a bit more drama, and be a bit more playful. I’m also more intentional with what I’m wearing. One of the first tours that we did was the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ tour, where we wanted to put a spotlight on Asian talent in the fashion industry. That gave us a framework and then from there we pushed ourselves to not look only to established brands and designers but also emerging designers.”
The ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ star has a stylist, Rebecca Corbin Murray, but she likes to give her own input into her looks too.
She said: “It’s a collaboration. Rebecca has incredible taste and we usually are thinking along the same lines. We’ll message back and forth with ideas which might be things I’ve seen on red carpets, at the shows, having a look online, or a film that I might have watched. Inspiration can come from anywhere.
“For the Zuhair Murad look at the London premiere, my brief to Rebecca was: ‘I want a cosmic Red Riding Hood kind of vibe.’ And she came back with that which was spot on.”

Rochelle Humes loves the natural looks since leaving The Saturdays

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle Humes says her make-up routine is “pared back” from her days in the Saturdays.
The 32-year-old former pop star had quite a “dramatic” look when she was in the ‘Issues’ group – which also consisted of Mollie King, Una Healy, Frankie Bridge and Vanessa White – but she favours something much more simple these days.
She told Fabulous magazine: “In The Saturdays, we wore a lot of heavy make-up. It was quite dramatic in those days – almost like a uniform. Since then, my look has become quite pared back, and I don’t like much make up.”
The ‘Hit List’ host hailed Rihanna as her “beauty icon” because she “has the skin of a goddess”.
When she does wear make-up, Rochelle – who has Alaia-Mai, eight, Valentina, four, and Blake, 13 months, with husband Marvin Humes – finds only Augustinus Bader The Cream Cleansing Gel removes it afterwards and she insisted it’s worth the £50 price tag.
She said: “It’s not cheap but it’s the only thing that removes my make-up.”
For an affordable multifunctional nifty product, she suggested coconut oil for getting rid of pesky zits and other problems.
Rochelle said: “Coconut oil. I once had a facial on holiday and they put coconut oil on a spot. I thought it would make it really greasy, but the next day it was gone. I have a jar of it now and use it on my eyelashes and eyebrows, too.”
She also hailed Philip Kingsley Elasticizer pre-shampoo a “beauty bag essential”.
She noted: “It’s so good and it’s not gonna break the bank [at £20].”

And so, the Spring/Summer 2022 show will “pay tribute to the life and legacy of a creative genius.”
Michael Burke, Louis Vuitton’s Chairman and CEO, said in a statement: “It is with profound sorrow that I learned of the passing of Virgil Abloh. Virgil was not only a friend, great collaborator, creative genius, visionary and disruptor, but also one of the best cultural communicators of our times. He paved the way for future generations. As a devoted supporter of his community through his charities and passions, he was an eternal optimist who believed anything was possible.
“In this same spirit, we at Louis Vuitton will proudly continue to celebrate his legacy with a final show in Miami, per his wishes. I am honored to have called him my friend. My deepest thoughts are with his wife, children, parents, family and the entire community that was touched by his greatness.”
A social media post featured a clip of a child cycling through the city in Florida with a final stop at a red hot air balloon with Louis Vuitton’s signature emblem emblazoned across it.

Romeo Beckham’s model girlfriend Mia Regan takes style tips from Victoria Beckham

OHMYGOSSIP — Romeo Beckham’s model girlfriend, Mia Regan, took style and beauty advice from Victoria Beckham for the Fashion Awards.
The 19-year-old Fort Lauderdale CF forward – who is the son of the 47-year-old fashion designer and retired soccer ace David Beckham – and the influencer, who is also 19, made their red carpet debut at the star-studded ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday night (29.11.21).
And speaking to British Vogue at the bash, Mia revealed she always goes to the former Spice Girl when she wants an opinion on her ensembles and make-up.
Mia said: “Even just talking about what I’m wearing with her, what nails and make-up I’m going to go for, it’s nice to have that figure.”
On being nervous before hitting the red carpet, she said: “I think it’s good to have nerves; if you didn’t you wouldn’t be human.”
Mia admitted she pushed herself “out of my comfort zone” with her choice of a Proenza Schouler LBD (Little Black Dress) with statement fringing from rental site My Wardrobe HQ.
She said: “I tried on loads of dresses.”
On making a sustainable choice, she said: “When you buy a piece of clothing, you want to have it for a long time.”
Mia is not the only girlfriend of a member of the Beckham family to take advice from Victoria.
Nicola Peltz, who is engaged to the power couple’s eldest child, Brooklyn, 22, even raids Posh Spice’s closet.
Victoria took to Instagram earlier this year to post a snap of the 26-year-old actress wearing her Victoria Beckham bustier top.
And the mother-of-four spilled that her future daughter-in-law is always wearing pieces from her wardrobe.
Victoria captioned the post: “Looks like the future Mrs Beckham has been in my wardrobe again! but you’re forgiven because I love this VB bustier on you @nicolaannepeltz (sic)”
It’s expected that the Spice Girl will design Nicola’s wedding dress when she and Brooklyn tie the knot.
Victoria recently gushed that her whole family are “very happy and very excited” for the pair’s nuptials, which were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The singer-turned-designer – who also has Cruz, 16, and 10-year-old Harper with the 46-year-old spouse David – can’t wait to pick out her own outfit as well.
She said: “He’s so happy – they are both so happy. [Nicola] is just wonderful.
“She’s sweet, she’s kind, she’s such a lovely, warm, wonderful, wonderful woman. We couldn’t have asked for Brooklyn to meet a more adorable, lovely lady. We are very happy. We love her. He’s so happy.
“It’s nice with everything that has gone on this year that Brooklyn has found his soulmate and the lady he wants to spend the rest of his life with, during this time there’s been so much uncertainty and that everything felt a little bit sad. So we are very happy and very excited. What will I wear?”

Nicola Roberts’ Fashion Awards gown made from 210 recycled electrical cables

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Roberts’ Fashion Awards gown was made from 210 recycled electrical cables.
The Girls Aloud star wowed as she made a sustainable statement on the red carpet at the glitzy bash at London’s Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday night (29.11.21).
The monochrome look is the work of acclaimed designer Alexandra Sipa and was worn to promote the Recycle Your Electricals campaign.
The one-of-a-kind couture dress was “painstakingly created from 22 Ethernet cables (wifi cable) which were used to create the flowers on the upper part of Nicola’s dress, and 188 discarded household cables, which made up the most part of the monochrome design.”
The waste was acquired from “recycling centres, friends and family, local electricians and builders”, and used to create the bodice and shoulder detail, which weighed a whopping 1kg.
Other materials used included black recycled wool created on British soil.
A press release stated: “The national Recycle Your Electricals campaign aims to get UK households to stop throwing away or hoarding their small old electricals and instead start donating or recycling them. Electricals contain some of the most precious materials on our planet – gold, silver, copper aluminum, and platinum.”
It added: “There are enough cables hoarded in UK homes to circle the earth five times, containing nearly a whopping 700 tonnes of copper. If this copper was recycled, it would save 140,000 tonnes of rock being blasted out of the ground (enough to fill 12 Olympic swimming pools!) and save 1,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions.”
Nicola, 36, said: “We all have a duty to make sustainable choices. As the consequences of our demanding and accessible way of living begin to increasingly show themselves, it’s something I feel a responsibility to do more and more.
“For instance; The impact of electrical waste is something few people consider.
“Working with Alexandra Sipa and the team at Recycle Your Electricals has been an interesting and enlightening journey.
“My dress has been created from 210 electrical cables and I’m proud to be able to show you just what is possible when supporting sustainability with recycling and just how beautiful it can be.”

“He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture.

JoJo Siwa got ‘convinced’ to wear Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy’s heels

OHMYGOSSIP — JoJo Siwa had to be “convinced” to wear Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy’s heels at the American Music Awards.
The 18-year-old star – who reached the finale of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ – has opened up about her outfit at Sunday’s (21.11.21) ceremony as she wore a black off-the-shoulder gown complete with a full skirt, ruffles and sheer panels, and shoes she borrowed from her pro dancing partner.
She told ‘The View’: “I’ve been wearing heels for two days straight. It’s a new thing.
“I wore little heels on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and then my mom convinced me to wear a dress to the AMAs and my partner on the show, Jenna, convinced me to wear heels to the AMAs.
“They were like, ‘You are going to look really dumb if you wear that dress with sneakers.’ And I was like, ‘Fair enough. How ’bout a boot?’ ”
Although it was a change of style for her, JoJo admitted she “trusts” the people around her.
She added: “Absolutely, and I trust my people. That’s one thing about me, I really trust the people around me.
“I trust my mom, I trust my family, I trust my friends, I trust Jen.
“And right now, the two biggest people in my life are my mom and Jen, so trusting them was a no-brainer. I was like, ‘They got my back. They’re gonna steer me right.’ ”
JoJo recently admitted she has undergone a “transition” with her fashion sense.
She explained: “I am in a dress and heels the first time in my life. When I knew I was coming to the AMAs, I was like, ‘Oh, what am I gonna wear,’ because I have had this transition while being on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ where I’ve gone from dressing like I normally dress to looking more adult.
“And I want to branch out of my comfort zone, and so today we went for a dress. I got some heels on.”

Olivia Rodrigo struggles with acne

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo says masks to stop the spread of COVID-19 are bad for her acne.
The ‘Traitor’ hitmaker, 18, unveiled what she uses to keep her face and hair glowing in a video for Vogue but has to keep it simple to stop irritation.
To starters on her skin, she opts for the ‘Epionce Milky Lotion Cleanser’ due to her sensitive skin and the irritation from covid personal protection equipment.
The ‘Good 4 You’ explained that “less is more” is guiding skincare and makeup philosophy.
She said: “I had the worst case of dermatitis, where I just broke out all around my mouth, and it was awful. I think it was wearing masks a lot, and also, using a bunch of products that irritated my skin. And so my dermatologist said, okay, cut everything out of your skincare routine, just wash your face. And that’s sort of why my skincare and makeup routine and stuff is so simple. I think less is more with skincare, a lot of the time.”
Olivia believes that keeping realistic expectations was essential to her.
She said: “I cannot expect to have perfect skin all the time. My skin loves breaking out on my chin and on my nose. The masks definitely do not help.”
Rodrigo also loves using a gua sha – an ancient Chinese method of increasing circulation in your face with a flat stone -, saying: “I kind of just started recently doing this this year, and it’s really relaxing.”
Olivia kicks off her regime with an OLLY Gummies, praising both the taste and the effect they have had on her chocolate tresses.
The ‘Drivers License” singer said: “I love these OLLY gummies, I’m obsessed with them. I started taking them a year ago, and I actually think that my hair really improved. They’re also just delicious, and also the highlight of my morning is eating two of these because they’re so yummy.”
In addition, the ‘Deja Vu’ singer uses a serum from the Ordinary, a Burt’s Bees lip balm, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer, Glossier Stretch Concealer, Glossier Boy Brow, Glossier Pro Tip and Glossier Ultralip, that has not yet hit the market.
The singer was recently spotted wearing a sheer sequined David Koma gown – in her signature purple, the same colour as her smash hit album SOUR – on the red carpet at the 2021 American Music Awards,

Ciara mastered ‘discipline’ early on working in fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Ciara learned the art of “discipline” when she launched her fashion ventures.
The ‘1,2 Step’ hitmaker runs The House of LR&C with husband Russell Wilson and launched the new apparel line Dare To Roam in August.
And while with her music she was able to push back work, that’s not possible in the fast-paced fashion business.
And so, very early, she had to adjust to the tight deadlines – because fashion “timelines” wait for no one.
Speaking to Glossy Pop, the 36-year-old star said: “Obviously, I came from the space of being an artist before I got this great opportunity to be able to build a business in the fashion space.
“And sometimes, because of that creative mind, you have to have discipline and timelines.
“In fashion, timelines don’t wait for you. In music, I can be like, ‘I want to push this album back; let’s do it in a couple of weeks.’
“But it’s like, ‘No, you have Nordstrom prepared for the drop on this day.’
“You’ve got to make [a certain] time for fashion.
“So there’s that discipline that you learn when you get the chance to be involved on the business side.
“Now, I’ve mastered the discipline — I had no choice but to master it pretty early on in the process. But it’s been really fun learning and taking on the challenges that the business side of it all brings you.”
Ciara also spilled that her sources of inspiration for fashion include, her music and the mood it puts her in, life, and people she clocks on the street in New York and Atlanta, who are of “all different ethnic backgrounds”.
She shared: “You go through different seasons.
“Sometimes it’s all about the mood you’re in — for me, when I’m making an album, my music inspires me and how I want to look.
“It’s like, ‘OK, these songs are making me feel this way. This is the vibe I want to be on, from a fashion perspective.’
“Life inspires me, and sometimes others inspire me — like when I’m walking around in the streets of New York or the streets of Atlanta, where I came from.
“I see people walking around from all different ethnic backgrounds and rocking all different kinds of styles in a super-expressive way. “I get inspired by that. The beauty of fashion is that the inspiration can come from so many different places.
“Sometimes it’s really in the moment: You have a vision for something or an encounter with something that happens in life, and you’re like, ‘I’m really inspired by this moment. I’m going to go back to the drawing board.’ That’s the beauty of fashion.”

‘I eat every two to three hours’: Alesha Dixon shares her strict diet

OHMYGOSSIP — Alesha Dixon eats “every two to three hours”.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge has shared her diet and fitness regimes to maintain her “lean” figure, including chowing down on a healthy variety of foods at regular intervals.
The mother-of-two – who has Azura, eight, and Anaya, two, with husband Azuka Ononye – told the December 2021 issue of Women’s Health UK magazine: “I eat every two to three hours.
“My body is naturally lean, so I have to be regimented to maintain my weight.
“For breakfast, I have porridge with raspberries and maple syrup.
“Later, I’ll eat rye toast with a boiled egg before working out.
“Then it’s a protein shake – I’m trying to hit 75g to 90g a day – with dates, oat milk, flaxseeds, chia seeds and turmeric.
“Lunch is salmon and veg with quinoa, then a Jamaican dish like ackee and saltfish for dinner. I eat plenty of carbs, but I’ll opt for fibrous varieties like brown pasta.”
The former Mis-Teeq star revealed how her fitness routine has always been her “saviour in challenging times”, and she loves the structure it gives her.
She said: “Fitness has always been my saviour during challenging times – it rids me of stress and keeps my brain clear.
“I like structure, so I do a mix of weight training and cardio with my personal trainer, Janet Malinowska, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, then Pilates on Tuesdays and yoga on Thursdays. I enjoy sweating, but adding in lower-intensity forms of movement has really helped calm me down. I rest on the weekend.”
The 43-year-old singer also admitted she has never felt “healthier” mentally as she does now, and she credits her current headspace to learning to “like myself more” and not letting her mind “control” her.
Alesha added: “Every day I try to like myself more. I regret things, but that’s human.
“‘The Power Of Now ‘by Eckhart Tolle has shown me the importance of not letting your mind control you.
“I’m in a healthier headspace compared with 10 years ago. I hope that in 10 years’ time I’ll be in an even better one.”
Elsewhere, the ‘Breathe Slow’ singer insisted she has no qualms with ageing as it provides her with “clarity”.
She explained: “Some people are afraid of ageing, but the beautiful thing about it is clarity.
“You lighten your load along the way and put things into perspective – it makes life enjoyable as you know what matters.
“I could say I’m happiest on stage, but it’s actually in the garden with my daughters [Azura, eight, and Anaya, two] and our 12-year-old dog, Daisy.”

The 35-year-old model took to Instagram to enthuse about the procedure, which involves putting hair from the “back of your head” to the brows to create a fuller look, after years of overplucking the facial feature as a teen.
She wrote: “I never wear makeup if I can avoid it so I was so excited for this eyebrow transplant surgery where they take hairs from the back of your head!! (sic).”
However, not everyone was a fan of the procedure, with the star being mocked for the move.

The ‘Cravings’ author added: “a little dark from the pencil it’s so cool to have brows again!”

Chrissy’s Dr. Diamond chimed in with the sentiment, writing that “too many people ” are experiencing the same issue as Chrissy.”
He said on a screenshot of Chrissy’s post that “eyebrows play a huge part of the facial aesthetic.”
He went on: “They frame the eyes and can either be an asset to the eyes, or they can be the annoying part of your morning you have to spend ten minutes filling in.”
The latest transformation came after the same surgeon removed fat from his client’s cheeks.
Chrissy – who is married to award-winning musician John Legend – said in an Instagram Story video: “I did that Dr. Diamond buccal fat removal thing here. And since I quit drinking, I’m really seeing the results. And I like it, yeah.”

The likes of Diane von Furstenberg and the late Karl Lagerfeld have had the privilege of designing the tree for the iconic London hotel in the past.
Claridge’s co-owner Paddy McKillen commented: “Christmas has always been a truly special time of the year for us here at Claridge’s, and we are delighted, for the first time in many years, to welcome a homegrown designer to create our illustrious tree.”
The big unveiling will take place on November 24 in the lobby of the luxurious art deco landmark.
Last month, Kim was named Fashion Innovator of the year by WSJ. Magazine.
The designer, who acquired his position at Fendi last year, following the death of the late fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld in 2019 – was honoured alongside Kim Kardashian West, who was crowned this year’s Brand Innovator for the success of her shapewear line, SKIMS.
The pair had just unveiled their joint collaboration, a first-of-its-kind collection, and Kim revealed how the joint venture came about.
He said: “My team and I were sitting around a table at the studio in Rome. Suddenly, all the women went silent and started looking at their phones. I didn’t know what was going on, but they were waiting for the launch of the new Skims collection. It was then that I thought: let’s do something together.”
