Zendaya: It's important to speak out about racism

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya Coleman feels it is “important” to speak out about issues that affect her.
The 20-year-old star wants to raise awareness about how “African-American men and women” are affected by racism every day.
She told PEOPLE magazine: “It’s important to raise your voice about issues you feel affected by. It happens to African-American men and women every day.”
The ‘Shake It Up’ star recently received an apology from supermarket chain Vons after she claimed she was refused service because of her “skin tone”.
Recalling what happened, she said: “So we just got out of this Vons. Now I am trying to buy a lot of gift cards. There are certain limits or whatever so you can only by so much, but the lady that was helping us …
“I don’t think she was a fan of our skin tone. She then threw my wallet. I can’t make this up! This is what we deal with! She literally threw my wallet and she was like, ‘You can’t afford this.’ It was $400! Long story short, there is so much progress to be done in our world.”
In their apology, Vons said they “respect Zendaya’s voice in the community” and apologised for any offence caused.
They said in a statement: “At Vons, we strive to treat each and every customer with the utmost respect. There is a policy that limits gift card purchases using a credit card. Zendaya was able to purchase gift cards up to our limit, and we apologise for any inconvenience or misunderstanding.
“We respect Zendaya’s voice in the community and similarly are committed to diversity and inclusion. Moreover, we understand that race is a sensitive issue in America and view this experience as a reminder that every interaction is an opportunity to treat each customer as we ourselves would like to be treated.”

Katie Price wanted baby Disney

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price wanted to name her youngest daughter Disney.
The former glamour model and her husband Kieran Hayler took a long time to decide on the moniker Bunny for their little girl, who turned two last month, and rejected a number of outlandish or “old-fashioned” names before finally reaching an agreement.
Katie – who also has kids Harvey, 14, Junior, 11, and Princess, nine, from past relationships, and Jett, three, with Kieran – admitted: “For the first few weeks after Bunny was born, on August 4, 2014, we drew a blank over what to call her.
“Initially I’d wanted the name ‘Duchess’ – like Duchess Kate – and that went well with Princess too, but Kieran reckoned it sounded too harsh.
“At one point I wanted to name her ‘Disney’, but I didn’t really want her growing up thinking she’d been named after a theme park!
“Then there were ‘Bambi’ and ‘Precious’, which Kieran also hated.
“I liked old-fashioned names like ‘Ethel’ and ‘Peggy’ too, but the danger was that she might sound like one of the characters in ‘EastEnders’.
“When ‘Bunny’ came into my head, it seemed right and Kieran agreed it was cute.”
And the 38-year-old star then wanted to spell the tot’s name in a creative way, but it was vetoed by her spouse.
In an extract from her new autobiography ‘Reborn’ published in The Sun newspaper, she wrote: “Then I couldn’t decide whether to spell her name Bunni with a heart above the ‘i’ but Kieran pointed out that probably wasn’t even part of the English language. So Bunny it is.”
While Katie and Kieran liked the name they chose for their daughter, other people weren’t so keen, but the couple didn’t care.
She said: “Did I give a toss what other people thought? Absolutely not.
“My mum didn’t like it at first, but she didn’t like Princess’ name either. She’s come round to it though because Princess suits her name so much.”

Sia celebrates six years of sobriety

OHMYGOSSIP — Sia has celebrated six years of sobriety.
The 40-year-old musician has struggled with alcoholism and drug abuse throughout her life, and she took to Twitter on Saturday (10.09.16) share her joy at getting through another year clean and thanking those who have helped her along the way.
The ‘Chandelier’ hitmaker tweeted: “6 years sober today. Thank you to all those who have contributed knowingly and unknowingly. I love you, keep going.”
Earlier this year, the ‘Cheap Thrills’ songwriter admitted on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ that she had previously suffered with drug and alcohol addiction and revealed that she “sobered up” when she started to gain fame.
She said: “I was a singer already for like 10 or 11 years to mediocre success, and I was an alcoholic and a drug addict, and I sobered up and decided I didn’t want to be an artist any more. I was starting to get a little bit famous and it was destabilising in some ways … so I thought, ‘What doesn’t exist in pop music at the moment?’ and it was mystery.”
Speaking previously, the ‘Elastic Heart’ singer admitted that she “didn’t know” she was an alcoholic but then she took a long hard look at her life and realises she was “unhappy”.
Sia – who has worked with a host of pop stars such as Rihanna, Rita Ora, Britney Spears and Jessie J – revealed: “All I wanted to do was write for pop stars. For one reason or another it never happened for me. Then I got seriously addicted to Vicodin and Oxycodone, and I was always a drinker, but I didn’t know I was an alcoholic. I was really unhappy being an artist and I was getting sicker and sicker.”
After being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism – a condition that occurs due to the body making too much of the thyroid hormone – in 2010, she managed to control her autoimmune condition and get on the path to recovery.

Kendall Jenner's Super Natural friends

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendall Jenner and her pals have given themselves the “lame” title of the Super Natural Friend Group.
The 20-year-old beauty is close to fellow models Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Hailey Baldwin and they are all very proud of one another’s “cool individual lives”.
She said: “This is going to sound really, really lame, but we all call ourselves the Super Natural Friend Group because we all have such cool individual lives and we’ve been dreaming about them since we were so young.”
Kendall is very loyal to her friends and family – and makes no secret of her feelings when she makes an enemy.
She warned: “I’m a Scorpio, so I stick to people. If I love you, I love you. If I don’t like you, you’re screwed.”
And one thing the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star finds particularly irritating is when people use their mobile phones when they’re supposed to be spending quality time together.
She told Allure magazine: “I find it offensive if you’re with someone at a dinner and they’re just sitting on their phone the whole time.
“I take that personally. Like, am I not interesting enough for you to talk to me? It’s so crazy because even though we talk about trying to be present, everyone wants to be in the future now. I definitely have close friends, and even some family members, who are so connected to their phone and can’t get off of it.”
It was recently claimed Kendall has rekindled her romance with Harry Styles, having previously been romantically linked with Jordan Clarkson and A$AP Rocky, but she isn’t interested in speaking about her dating life.
She said: “I’m so young. Whoever I’m dating, or going to be dating, is young, too.
“So I don’t think it’s figured out. Do you know what I mean? So if I don’t know what it is, I’d rather not let everyone else know.”

Amber Heard may have lost money in divorce from Johnny Depp

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Heard lost money in her divorce from Johnny Depp, her friend iO Tillett Wright has claimed.
The 30-year-old actress’ legal split and settlement from the 53-year-old actor was finalised in August and the $7 million she requested to be donated to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.
The split was particularly acrimonious with Heard making accusations of domestic abuse against Depp – both physical and verbal – and Wright himself got involved and reported some of the actor’s alleged behaviour to police.
In the wake of the couple’s separation in May, the gender fluid author-and-photographer wrote an article about the domestic abuse claims for website Refinery 29, however, the piece has since been removed.
Wright has now come out to back Heard and reveal she paid all her own legal fees and accepted a settlement that was much lower than she could have got.
Discussing the fact she could have got more than the $7 million, he said: “And she paid her own legal fees. That situation was so public. I’m not ever going to be one of them – I’m not ever going to be an A-list celebrity. But I chose to get involved in that situation because it was imperative to say what I thought was right.”
Wright lived with the couple for a year before they got married in February 2015 and despite everything that has now gone on between all the parties he admits they swooped in and saved him when he felt suicidal after a break-up.
He said: “They saved my life. One hundred percent.”
Wright has remained “best friends” with Heard but has cut Depp out of his life because he has been unapologetic about his apparent behaviour both publicly and privately.
But Wright does have sympathy for the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star who was served divorce papers in the wake of his mother Betty Sue Palmer’s death.
In an interview with Sunday Times magazine, he spilled: “It’s a tough thing. My attitude about that is the same as the attitude I have about my parents. People are very rarely bad people. People have things that happen to them and people have pain they are trying to get around.”
Wright added: “Everyone is trying to dance with their pain and sometimes it’s who do you stab in the process? It’s what you do about having stabbed them that’s the delineation between people you can have in your life and people you can’t.”

Britney Spears throws sons joint Pokemon party

OHMYGOSSIP — Britney Spears threw a Pokemon-themed joint birthday party for her sons on Sunday (11.09.16).
The ‘Piece of Me’ hitmaker’s youngest Jayden turned 10 on Monday (12.09.16), and on Wednesday (14.09.16) Sean Preston turns 11, so the blonde beauty decided to celebrate them reaching the double digit milestones by putting on a spread inspired by the animated video game.
Taking to Instagram to share a picture of the table covered in Pokemon-inspired treats, she wrote:”Big bday for my boys! Double digits whoop whoop! (sic)”
The 34-year-old beauty – who had the kids with ex-husband Kevin Federline – previously admitted her boys are “addicted” to the game and she’s often been out on trips to shopping malls just to catch Pokemon.
She said: “[My kids] are addicted to it. They’re constantly talking about it and I’m introduced to these new Pokemon everyday and they’re way over my head.
“They got me to go shopping all over the mall to look for Pokemons. I was like, ‘Well you know what, it’s summer. We have nothing to do today. Let’s go look for Pokemon.’ ”
The mother of two had a busy weekend as on Saturday (10.09.16) she took time out to teach dance to young girls.
Alongside a video of the masterclass posted on Instagram, she wrote: “Teaching these little ones dance brings me so much joy. It’s so refreshing being with children.
“You’re reminded of the UNKNOWN once again … let’s all keep learning (sic)”
Britney recently admitted her oldest boy thinks he’s cleverer than her.
Although she loves to help Jayden with his homework, Sean Preston never wants her input as he doesn’t think she can be of much assistance.
She recently said: “I sit and do drawings with Jayden – he’s really good at it and I’m horrible.
“I do his homework with him, too, which I love.
“Jayden lets me help him, which Sean Preston never will. He’s such a smarty-pants and thinks he’s so much more clever than me. I let him think that, but he is actually pretty cool.”

Natalie Portman: Playing Jackie Kennedy was daunting

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Portman admits it was a “daunting” prospect playing Jacqueline Kennedy in new movie ‘Jackie’.
The 35-year-old actress was thrilled to be cast as the former American First Lady – who was married to President John F. Kennedy until his assassination on 21 November 1963 – but because of the history surrounding her she was worried about nailing an accurate portrayal of Jackie.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said: “She’s so well-known in terms of what she looks like and what she sounds like and how she moves, so to get that is definitely daunting.”
The film focuses on Jackie as she tries to carry on with her life after being widowed due to Lee Harvey Oswald shooting her husband dead.
Portman’s performance earned rave reviews when the film was screened at the Venice Film Festival last week, and she has praised director Pablo Larraín for providing set on which she could do her best work.
The Oscar winner – who appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival at the weekend to promote the movie – said: “(The set) was really playful and improvisatory, and I think it allows us to see many different sides of her. (We see) the toughness of who she was, dealing with what she had to go through while keeping herself together for the sake of the country and her family, and also the vulnerability and the intelligence of how she really crafted (JFK’s) legacy.”
Portman is currently pregnant with her second child with her husband Benjamin Millepied.
The couple already have son Aleph together.

Daniel Radcliffe would find Potter return strange

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe would feel “strange” playing Harry Potter again.
The 27-year-old actor shot to fame as the boy wizard in the movie series and though he would never rule out a return, he is “happy and secure” enough for someone else to portray the character, especially if stage production ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ – which depicts his magical alter ego as a 40-year-old married father – gets turned into a film.
He said: “I’m never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do. But I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it.
“At the moment it’s not even a concern because I’m too young to play the character, but even in 10 years’ time I would still feel strange about going back to it.”
And the British star joked he worried if he made a return, it would be met with criticism and “sour” the original film series.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “There’s a part of me that’s like, some things are better left untouched. If we went back to ‘Potter’, there’s a chance we’d make what ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ was to the original ‘Star Wars’, but there’s also the chance that we’d make ‘Phantom Menace’.
“So I don’t want to go back to anything like that and maybe sour what people have already loved.”
Daniel insists he has no idea about any of the details of ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’, author J.K. Rowling’s spin-off tale which is set in the same wizarding universe as Harry Potter, but doesn’t think lead actor Eddie Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander, will be coming to him for any tips.
He joked: “He’s an Oscar winner, dude, he doesn’t need my advice.”
Daniel recently admitted he is unsure if he will see ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ because he is worried his presence in the audience might distract from what is going on on stage.
He said: “It would be a weird one. I could be completely wrong in this, but I feel like if I went to see it that night, there’s going to be a lot of ‘Harry Potter’ fans there in the audience obviously and would that then become a thing?
“Would it be more about them watching me watch the show or would it take away from the show. I would never want to do anything that would distract or take away from the show.
“I don’t know, I’m not sure.”

Chris Brown gets into row at game

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Brown was spoken to by police after an argument at a charity basketball game.
The ‘Beautiful People’ singer became visibly upset at the
Power 106 Celebrity Basketball Game at USC on Sunday (11.09.16) and got into a heated exchange with a spectator in the stands, though loud music made it difficult to hear the nature of their row.
One of the officers at the event at USC’s Galen Centre in Los Angeles could be heard saying in footage of the incident: “I don’t care who’s here, get it straight.”
The 27-year-old singer also sparked controversy when he refused to stand for the National Anthem before the game.
Singer Tank had urged the crowd to stand in respect for the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks 15 years ago, but Chris remained seated and appeared to share a laugh with his
friends as those around them got to their feet.
However, he stood at the end and applauded the R&B star’s vocals.
His decision not to stand comes after NFL football player Colin Kaepernick refused to observe the anthem in preseason in protestation of racial injustice.
The quarterback’s decision to stay on his knees was repeated by a number of other players at various other games over the weekend.
While Chris was slammed on Twitter as “vile” for his decision to join the protest, he didn’t seem to care.
He shared a screengrab of a news article about his refusal to stand and branded the incident “bulls**t” on his Instagram account.
It was recently claimed the ‘Yeah 3x’ hitmaker is cutting down on having parties and banning people he doesn’t know from his home, following his recent arrest.
The singer was arrested earlier this month after beauty queen Baylee Curran accused him of pulling a weapon on her during a row at his Los Angeles home and as a result he is being more careful about who visits his residence.
Chris’ two roommates now have to put a request in writing if they want to have a guest over, and they must include details about the person so that the singer can make an informed decision.
Guests are also banned from bringing alcohol and drugs to the house.
Chris has insisted he will be able to prove his innocence after being accused of threatening Baylee with a gun.

Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan to create TV show about Jim Jones

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Breaking Bad’ creator Vince Gilligan has announced he will create a new TV series about cult leader Jim Jones.
The 49-year-old creator of the hit drama series also oversaw the production of the ‘Breaking Bad’ spin-off show ‘Better Call Saul’, and his new venture will mark only the second show he has been at the helm of that doesn’t call upon the franchise.
Previously, Vince worked on a police comedy called ‘Battle Creek’, which lasted for one series in 2015 before it was cancelled by broadcaster CBS.
‘Raven’ focuses on the life of Jim Jones, the leader of the Peoples Temple cult which murdered Democrat congressman Leo Ryan in 1978. Following the murder, 918 of the cult’s members were involved in a mass suicide which saw 300 children killed by cyanide poisoning. Jim, 47, was also killed in the event by a gunshot wound to the head that is thought to be a suicide.
There will be three additional executive producers working on ‘Raven’, including Tim Reiterman who wrote a book ‘Raven: The Untold Story of Jim Jones and His People’ which documented the story of the Peoples Temple, and which the television show will be based on.
Former ‘Breaking Bad’ producer Michelle MacLaren and ‘The Help’ actress Octavia Spencer will complete the executive producer line up.
HBO have bought the rights to broadcast the show, and the series marks the second drama taking on the Peoples Temple in the works. It follows the news that Jake Gyllenhall is developing an anthology drama series that explores different cult leaders, with series one focusing on Jim Jones.

Victoria Beckham relies on David's suppport

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham couldn’t do her job without the support of her husband.
The 42-year-old fashion designer knows retired soccer player David Beckham is always there for their four children, Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and five-year-old Harper, so she doesn’t have to worry when her work is busy because he is the “best dad”.
She said: “David [is] so great. I couldn’t do any of this without him.
“He is very supportive and it means I can come away and work and know he is being the best dad looking after the kids. We work very well together, because David travels a lot and when he travels I am at home. There is always someone there with the children.”
David and Brooklyn were on the front row for Victoria’s New York Fashion Week presentation at the weekend, but her younger children couldn’t attend because of their school commitments.
While the former Spice Girls singer knew it was important that they stayed at home in London, she couldn’t help but “miss” them.
In a Facebook chat with the Daily Telegraph, she said: “The other children are at school and have only just gone back after a long summer break – but Brooklyn is doing A Levels so it’s easier for him to travel and he will be in home in time for school.
“I love having them here and I miss them.”
When it comes to her designs, Victoria admits she makes things “difficult” for herself because she likes a “challenge”.
She said: “I do like to make things difficult for myself and my team, just from taking on a challenge if you like. The velvet for example, I haven’t worked velvet for such a long time, because it’s something that normally feels old and heavy, but this is something which is super light and in bright colours.”

Chloe Grace Moretz shares travel survival essential

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Grace Moretz has to travel with “noise cancelling headphones” to stay “sane”.
The 19-year-old actress has to fly a lot for her career and she admits if she didn’t have her must-have item she wouldn’t be able to cope with the stress of airports.
Taking to her Twitter account, she shared: “Literally the only thing that keeps me sane rn is noise cancelling headphones, #airports (sic)”
Chloe is keen to pair her headphones with the new Apple iPhone 7s but to do so she’ll have to ditch the company’s wireless headphones which come with the must-have gadget.
In another tweet she revealed she’s desperate to get her hands on the smartphone, simply posting “gimme dat iphone 7s (sic)”.
Chloe just recently split from her boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham – the 17-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham.
It was claimed that Brooklyn decided to call time on the romance because she couldn’t cope with having a long-distance relationship as she lives in Los Angeles and he is based in London with his family.
A source said: “Brooklyn is so young with his whole life ahead and although he was besotted with her at first, as time wore on Chloe wanted to become more serious and given he lives on the other side of the Atlantic, it was something he couldn’t offer.”
The pair briefly dated in 2014 before getting back together earlier this year before separating.
Chloe had been welcomed into the Beckham family – also comprised of Brooklyn’s brothers Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and his little sister Harper, five – with open arms and had nothing but kind words to say about David, 41, and Victoria, 42.
The ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ star previously said: “The Beckhams are a great family. They don’t tout their money either. They’d [the family] understand the travel, the sex scenes with random people, the crazy schedule.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Miss Arkansas Savvy Shields has been crowned Miss America 2017.
The 21-year-old beauty was an early favourite in the competition as she won the preliminary talent round earlier this week, before going on to top the leaderboard and take home the much sought after title on Sunday (11.09.16) at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

The competition – which saw contestants judged on their talents and an interview round as well as their looks – included a celebrity judging panel comprised of ‘Shark Tank’ star Mark Cuban, singer Ciara, and Olympian Gabby Douglas.
Speaking after the event, Ciara told Savvy: “It’s awesome as a woman to see you get this moment. I just encourage you to enjoy this moment, because when great things like this happen, they can sometimes pass you by.”
Miss Arkansas grabbed the attention of the judging panel earlier in the week when she wowed them in the talent competition with her jazz dance performance to ‘They Just Keep Moving The Line’ from the musical TV show ‘Smash’.
During the Q&A part of the competition, Savvy was asked to give her opinion of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Katie Price slams Dwight Yorke

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price has slammed Dwight Yorke for not “accepting” their disabled son.
The 44-year-old former soccer player hasn’t seen 14-year-old Harvey – who suffers from a number of health problems, including septo-optic dysplasia and genetic disorder Prader-Willi Syndrome – for eight years and his ex-partner is frustrated that he doesn’t understand his conditions or want to spend time with the youngster regardless of his problems.
And Katie thinks Dwight has a particularly hard time understanding how Prader-Willi Syndrome leaves Harvey constantly hungry.
She said: “The last time Harvey’s biological father Dwight Yorke saw him, which was around eight years ago, the first thing he asked was why Harvey was so big. Why was I overfeeding him?
“I’d explained Harvey’s condition to Dwight many times, but he refused to understand it and kept going on about him being fat.
“It’s sad that he is unable to accept Harvey for who he is and seems unable or unwilling to work within his limitations.
“On that occasion, I think Dwight wanted to blame someone for the fact that his son is disabled.
“I have always said that if Dwight could see what a courageous and talented boy Harvey is then he would enjoy being with him so much.
“For me, it’s impossible to understand why a little boy’s dad wouldn’t make contact after being sent snaps of his son opening his birthday presents, learning swing ball, or giggling his head off on a quad bike. They are such precious moments.”
Katie went on to slam Dwight as a “true coward”, comparing him to comedian Frankie Boyle, who sparked hundreds of complaints when he made cruel jibes about Harvey.
In an extract from her new autobiography ‘Reborn’ published by The Sun newspaper, she wrote: “Any man can fill a pram but it takes a real man to be a father.
“Dwight’s actions are so disappointing and I have come to the conclusion that, like [Frankie] Boyle, he is another true coward.
“Over the past few years I’ve continuously had to defend Harvey from cruelty and ignorance. Like many parents in my situation, I don’t want sympathy or pity but do wish for more empathy and understanding.”
The 38-year-old star – who also has children Junior, 11, and Princess, nine, with ex-husband Peter Andre and Jett, three, and Bunny, two, with spouse Kieran Hayler – is pleased partially-sighted Harvey has been able to progress far more than medics predicted he would when he was born.
She said: “I want everyone to see that disability doesn’t have to mean a life lived within limits. There are things Harvey can now do, like reading, that we once believed would never be possible.
“In fact, when he was born, the experts were doubtful he’d even be able to speak, cuddle me, or do half of the things he now does.
“But with the right encouragement and help he’s developed into a gorgeous, funny, smart, mischievous and incredibly courageous little boy who plays a central and positive role in our family.
