Christine McVie: My mother had real healing powers

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine McVie has claimed her mother had genuine healing powers and once cured an old woman of cancer.
The Fleetwood Mac musician’s late mum Beatrice E.M earned a living as a medium, faith healer and psychic and although she kept some of her work hidden from her daughter, Christine can recall one vivid memory when she used her abilities to eradicate terminal cancer from a friend of her father’s Cyril Perfect.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, Christine shared: “I believe they (my mother’s powers) were real. She was a healer. I just wanted her to be an ordinary mum, so the less I knew of that side the better, but here’s a story I can tell you. There was an old friend of my dad’s, in Newcastle – this rich old lady who lived in a run-down castle. She had terminal cancer. She sent a pair of her kid gloves to my mother, who wore one during the night, and a couple of weeks later there was a phone call: the doctors were amazed that all the cancer was completely gone.”
Christine, 73, doesn’t believe she inherited any of her mother’s psychic powers, however, the way in which she was inspired to write her track ‘Songbird’ – from Fleetwood Mac’s acclaimed 1977 album – was as an unusual “spiritual” experience.
Recalling the experience of writing ‘Songbird’, she said: “That was a strange little baby, that one. I woke up in the middle of the night and the song just came into my head. I got out of bed, played it on the little piano I have in my room, and sang it with no tape recorder. I sang it from beginning to end: everything. I can’t tell you quite how I felt; it was as if I’d been visited – it was a very spiritual thing. I was frightened to play it again in case I’d forgotten it. I called a producer first thing the next day and said, ‘I’ve got to put this song down right now.’ I played it nervously, but I remembered it. Everyone just sat there and stared at me. I think they were all smoking opium or something in the control room. I’ve never had that happen to me since. Just the one visitation. It’s weird.”

George Takei expected coming out to affect career

OHMYGOSSIP — George Takei expected his career to “fade” when he came out as gay.
The 79-year-old actor – who is married to long-term partner Brad Altman – went public about his sexuality in 2004 when then-Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger’s decision not to sign the marriage equality bill left him “raging”.
He said: “When he vetoed it, I was raging. Young people poured out on to Santa Monica Boulevard, venting their fury, and here Brad and I were, comfortable at home, watching the late-night news. I said, ‘All right, I’ve had a good career,’ and I was fully prepared for it to fade.”
Before he was open about his sexuality, the ‘Star Trek’ star admitted he “lived in fear” of being outed, as though he would “play the game” and take female pals with him to high-profile public events, it was a different matter behind closed doors.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “You live under the fear of being outed all the time. I played the game. I took a female friend to premieres and parties, and then I’d take her home and go to a gay bar. It was a double life. Interestingly, I recognised some faces in those bars and we’d say ‘Hi’, but we didn’t mention it the day after.”
George hit the headlines earlier this year when he objected to his former ‘Star Trek’ alter ego, Hikaru Sulu, being revealed to be gay in ‘Star Trek Beyond’ – in which he is played by John Cho – but he insists it is the lack of imagination in changing an existing character’s backstory that bothered him, rather than it being the USS Enterprise helmsman himself.
He explained: “Now that we have this opportunity to explore the sexual orientation of the characters, they should have been as creative as (‘Star Trek’ creator) Gene Roddenberry. Invent a new character who has a whole history as a gay person! Don’t change a character that Gene intentionally created as straight.”

Hilary Duff: Young stars face a 'tough struggle'

OHMYGOSSIP — Hilary Duff feels sorry for child stars.
The 29-year-old actress understands the struggles faced by former child stars as she shot to fame when she starred as the titular character in Disney show ‘Lizzie McGuire’ aged just 14.
Speaking on the ‘Just Jenny’ podcast, the blonde beauty said: “I think it’s hard. I just feel for them. God, how do I answer that? It was just a different time for me. When I was just coming onto the scene, it was when all the gossip and stuff started.
“But now it’s such an extreme level and there’s such a focus on personal life. It must really be a tough struggle. I feel it, and I’m not dealing with it on the level they’re dealing with it on.”
The ‘Cinderella Story’ actress sympathises with stars like Selena Gomez, 24, who announced in August that she would be taking time off to deal with her anxiety and depression.
Hilary said: “I think the saving grace is, [Selena Gomez] makes great music. Tons people love her… The public is smart to gossip magazines and that they’re just trying to make money. At the end of the day they love those people and they love their music.”
Hilary’s sympathy comes after the star – who has four-year-old son Luca with her ex-husband Mike Comrie – revealed she was planning on returning to the studio to work on new music after signing with Scooter Braun’s SB Management.
She said: “Scooter is an all-around manager. I will get in the studio. I think Scooter’s a really smart man. I think that he believes in me. I love what he does. He thinks outside the box and he likes a good challenge, and I’m a little bit of a challenge.
“Music for me, it fits in somewhere. It’s just a part of my life. But I don’t have like, ‘I’ve got to get an album at this time.’ I have a child and so I get to go to the studio when I have time.”

John Boyega hates the dark

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega gets “freaked out” by darkness.
The ‘Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens’ actor insists undead creatures like zombies and otherworldly beings don’t frighten him at all, but it’s a different story when the lights go out.
He said: “Zombies, aliens, I’ve done it all guys so it’s just a walk in a park.
“Darkness does get me, stuff starts to morph when its dark and I am freaked out by that.”
However, the 24-year-old star doesn’t mind confronting his fears.
He insisted: “The more fear the better.”
John was one of a whole host of stars who faced their fears at the launch party for Thorpe Park’s Fright Nights, with models Jourdan Dunn and Neelam Gill, former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars Ola and James Jordan, singers Fleur East, Kimberley Wyatt and Sam Bailey, actress Jaime Winstone and former Olympian Linford Christie among those trying out the terrifying mazes and most popular rollercoasters at the theme park.
Fleur in particular was worried about the five spooky experiences, Platform 15, Cabin in the Woods, Blair Witch. Saw Alive: The Maze, and The Big Top.
She said: “I think people jumping out at me is really going to scare me. I am terrified, it sounds like it’s going to be all of my worst fears rolled into one.”
And Kimberley – who was there with her husband Max Rogers – had been practicing her “brave face”.
She said: “I am expecting lots of fun awesome characters to be everywhere hiding and trying to scare us and I have to practice putting on a really brave face.”
However, it wasn’t just the mazes or the terrifying creatures roaming the park that scared the former Pussycat Dolls singer, as she was spotted backing away from Saw – The Ride and didn’t join her pals in enjoying the ride.
Supermodel Jourdan was amazed she’d even made it to the park as she is afraid of “everything”.
She said: “I am basically scared of everything, I don’t really know why I’m here.”
Fright Nights at Thorpe Park run from 7-9, 14-16 and 21-31 October. For more information and to book tickets, visit thorpepark.com.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis expecting baby boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are expecting a baby boy.
The 38-year-old actor confirmed the news on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on Thursday (06.10.16), meaning that the as-yet-unnamed bundle of joy will join his big sister Wyatt, two, to make a family of four.
Ashton said: “We haven’t told anyone. We’re having a boy!”
And despite already having a daughter, the ‘Jobs’ actor says that he wasn’t thrilled about having a son because he thought it would mean that his wife Mila, 33, would say no to having any more children in the future.
He admitted: “I was hoping for a girl because first of all, our first girl is unbelievable. But also I figured if we had a girl second, [Mila] might give me one more shot at having a boy and now I don’t know. It’s even money, she might cut me off. I want, like, 12 [children].”
The actor then insisted that he hadn’t argued with the ‘Black Swan’ star over the size of their family, and said they were “very happy”.
Whilst Ashton officially confirmed the news of their baby’s sex on the late night talk show, the admission only came after he had accidentally spilled the news earlier in the day on the ‘Today’ show.
The ‘Killers’ actor told Savannah Guthrie on the show that his daughter would point to Mila’s stomach and say “little brother”.
Meanwhile, ‘Friends With Benefits’ star Mila has said she isn’t worried about the pregnancy, and has stopped checking how far along she is.
She told Conan O’Brien: “I feel really good. With the first one, there were these apps where you could check daily to see the size of your baby based on fruit.
“So, ‘Oh, today my baby’s the size of guava, or a banana, or avocado.’ And I did it, like, every day. I couldn’t even tell you how far along I am right now. I’m like, ‘I don’t know. A couple months?’ I genuinely don’t know how far along I am. I’m like, ‘Somewhere between this and that.'”

Michael Buble to host BRIT Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Buble has been announced as the host of the BRIT Awards 2017 and says it will be an “honour” to take control of proceedings.
The 41-year-old Canadian singer will helm the annual UK music awards ceremony, making him only the third non-British star to host the show in its entire 40-year history.
In a statement, the ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ hitmaker said: “It’s a huge honour for me to host such a big night in music. Even though I didn’t grow up as a Brit I’ve always been well aware of the BRIT Awards and their impact globally.
“As a fan of music this is the perfect gig. I’m very much looking forward to February and celebrating the success stories of a great year in music.”
Buble has been nominated for three BRITs during his career, and although he has never actually won one, he is still one of the most successful artists in the world, having sold over 32 million albums globally.
The ‘Feeling Good’ singer will take over hosting duties from presenting duo Ant and Dec, who had decided that 2016’s ceremony would be their last.
Even though he is known as a musician, this is not the first time Buble has fronted an awards show as he previously helmed the Juno Awards in Canada in 2013.
BRITs Chairman Jason Iley is thrilled to have secured the services of Buble because he is such a “charismatic” entertainer.
Iley said: “This is a huge coup for The BRIT Awards and we are delighted to announce Michael as our host for 2017. He is an extremely talented and charismatic world-class entertainer much loved by the British public. Michael will add an exciting element to our show in 2017.”
The BRIT Awards take place on Wednesday February 22 at London’s O2 arena and will be broadcast live on ITV.
The 2017 nominations will be announced on January 14 and will be shown live on a primetime ITV Saturday evening slot featuring special performances from acts in line for prizes.

Petra Ecclestone Stunt selling mansion for $200m

OHMYGOSSIP — Petra Ecclestone Stunt has put her mansion on the market for $200 million.
The 27-year-old fashion designer has decided it’s time to sell her massive Los Angeles home, and she’s set the starting price very high.
The 56,000-square-foot home is set on 4.7 landscaped acres in the Holmby Hills neighbourhood, and was originally custom built in the late 1980s for the late television producer Aaron Spelling – the father of Tori Spelling.
When it was built, the property spanned over 100 rooms, including a flower cutting room, a humidity controlled silver storage closet, a barbershop, and a doll museum.
Petra bought the property in 2011 from Aaron’s widow Candy Spelling for $85 million, and the $115 million mark up on the property comes after the heiress engaged the services of Gavin Brodin – a builder and designer based in LA – to help update the interior.
Now, the property boasts a professional screening room, a two-lane bowling alley, and a wine cellar with separate tasting room. There’s also a gym and full spa facilities complete with tanning salon and beauty salon.
In addition to the six en-suite guest bedrooms, the lavish home offers an extensive service wing with five staff bedrooms and two butler’s suites. The owner’s complex itself is almost three times the size of the average American home, and incorporates a private kitchen, living room, dual bathrooms, and two-storey dressing room.
According to property listings, the mansion includes a whopping total of 27 bathrooms.
The grounds on the property are carefully groomed, and include facilities such as an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, and extensive formal gardens. In covered parking alone there is enough room for 16 cars, with space to park another 100 cars along the wide driveway and the motor court outside the house.
Petra and her billionaire husband James Stunt decided to sell their luxurious home as their children – Lavinia, three, and twins James Jr. and Andrew, one – attend school in London and so the family rarely spends time in Los Angeles.

Victoria Beckham: Salmon keeps my skin healthy

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham eats salmon “every day” to keep her skin healthy.
The 42-year-old fashion designer has admitted that her skin wasn’t always perfect, but her dermatologist told her to try eating the oily fish once a day to help clear her complexion, and since she started she hasn’t looked back.
Speaking to Net-a-Porter’s digital magazine The Edit, she said: “I used to have really problematic skin and he [her dermatologist] said to me, ‘You have to eat salmon every single day,’ I said, ‘Really, every day?’ And he said, ‘Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.’ ”
And whilst the former Spice Girl can boast about having perfect skin, she can’t say the same about her wardrobe choices in years gone by, as she has taken the time to reflect on her “fashion mistakes”.
She said: “I have made so many fashion mistakes but I actually don’t look at them as mistakes. I celebrate those things. I laugh occasionally but I’m not ashamed of any of that.”
Recalling two instances in particular, the mother of four – who has children Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and Harper, five, with husband David Beckham – admits it was a mistake to wear Louboutin heels when she was heavily pregnant.
She said: “At some point I thought it was OK to wear a PVC catsuit. When I was pregnant with Romeo, I walked around Disneyland in Christian Louboutin heels, literally at nine months’ pregnant!”
And the fashion designer also took the time to gush about her retired footballer husband, saying that she wouldn’t be where she was if it wasn’t for the star and his support.
She said: “I couldn’t do any of this if it wasn’t for David; he is such a supportive husband and someone who inspires me so much. His work ethic is incredible, and he is the most fantastic husband and devoted father.”

Paris Jackson revisits dad Michael's Neverland Ranch

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Jackson has returned to her home at the Neverland Ranch.
The 18-year-old daughter of the late musician Michael Jackson paid a visit to the place she used to call home when she lived there with her father and her brothers Prince Jackson and Blanket Jackson. The aspiring singer took to Instagram to share a photo of the large house, saying that it “felt good” to visit the estate.
She captioned the photo: “Felt so good to be home even for a little bit.”
The star also took the time to explore the estate’s petting zoo, stopping to take selfies with the alpacas and film a short video of her feeding them.
The video was captioned: “my new friends, Rickie, Survivor, and Kyle 🙂 (sic)”
Paris visited the estate with her boyfriend of seven months Michael Snoddy, who was a pizza delivery boy when the pair started dating, but quit his job in July.
A source told New York Post’s Page Six column: “Michael [Snoddy] quit his job around July and they moved into the house where Michael [Jackson] grew up.”
News of the couple’s visit to the ranch comes after the property was put up for sale in May 2015 for $100 million. As of this spring, the house still hadn’t been sold, but there had been no reduction in price.
Earlier this year, both Paris and her brother Prince took to Instagram to pay tribute to their father on what would have been his 58th birthday. Prince posted a picture of a sonnet he had penned in memory of his father, whilst Paris reposted it to share her thoughts.
She wrote: “love this.. proud of you big brother. and happy birthday to the man that means more to us than anything and anyone ever could. (sic)”

Roger Daltrey 'didn't want to live' during meningitis battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Roger Daltrey “didn’t want to live” during his meningitis battle.
The 72-year-old lead singer of The Who fell desperately ill with the infection in 2015, leading to him cancelling a series of planned appearances, and Roger has admitted he was convinced he would not survive his health struggles.
Speaking ahead of The Who headlining the Desert Trip festival in California on Sunday (09.10.16), he explained: “I can’t believe I am going to be there if I am honest.
“A year ago, I was literally at death’s door. I had meningitis. It was no f***ing joke, it was serious.
“For a couple of days, I really thought I was going to die. I gave up.
“I didn’t want to live, it was so painful. It was horrible. Nothing worked and it was agony.”
Roger spent four weeks in and out of hospital and his diagnosis led the rock icon to cancel The Who’s 50th Anniversary Tour.
Meningitis inflames membranes round the brain and spinal cord, which leads to a number of debilitating side effects, such as vomiting, confusion and seizures.
As a result, Roger was ordered not to rush back to performing and he has admitted that despite making a recovery, the illness has taken a long-lasting toll on his body.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I am not quite as fit as I was before I had the meningitis, but I’m training again and I’m 99 percent there. I am a fit guy for my age so that has helped.
“At my age you take every gig and every tour one day at a time.
“You just hope you get through it and come off the stage standing. Saying that, we are all deaf as posts these days with hearing aids.”

Warren Beatty's transgender son is a 'hero'

OHMYGOSSIP — Warren Beatty has described his transgender son as a “hero”.
The 79-year-old actor – who has children Stephen, 24, Benjamin, 22, Isabel, 19, and Ella, 16, with his wife Annette Bening – has admitted he is very proud of his oldest child, who was born Kathlyn but transitioned at 14 years old, and believes Stephen is a “revolutionary” because of his decision to change gender.
Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine about his brood, the Hollywood star said: “He’s a genius, and my hero, as are all my children.”
And Warren – who met his spouse on the set of ‘Casanovas’ – has also praised his 58-year-old partner who he credits as a “perfect” woman.
Speaking about a conversation he had with late director Mike Nichols about his plans to wed, he said: “Well, there’s one thing you should know about her … She’s perfect.”
And the ‘Rules Don’t Apply’ star has admitted his life has been “taken over” by his brood, but he enjoys fatherhood, and has revealed being a parent is “more wonderful” than he had previously anticipated.
He said: “Sometimes life just takes over, as it has taken over with four kids, in a way that has been more wonderful than I could have imagined at an earlier age.”
Meanwhile Warren is grateful he has not been inundated with “movie after movie” and hasn’t had to “grind” out a large number of films without any breaks in between, because he has been able to enjoy his life and not be over-worked.
He explained: “I think I’ve been lucky enough not to have to do movie after movie for financial reasons. I’ve been able to live my life, and also make movies.
“I didn’t have to grind them out. I could go long periods where I was living life, rather than tripping over cables.”

Kim Kardashian West's bodyguard 'could be questioned by police'

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West’s bodyguard could face questioning by police following her Paris robbery.
The 35-year-old was subject to a terrible ordeal in Paris, France, earlier this week when five armed, masked men stormed into her apartment, tied her up with plastic handcuffs and duct tape, and stole more than £9 million worth of jewellery.
Now, police are reportedly gearing up to question the bodyguard of the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star, after it was revealed he had declared bankruptcy in July with a debt of almost £1 million.
Pascal Duvier, 43, jetted back to the US just hours after the robbery took place, after having been out at a club protecting Kim’s sisters Kourtney, 37, and Kendall, 20.
Police say Pascal is not a suspect over the theft, but would like to bring him in for questioning.
One officer told The Sun newspaper: “We will see where the investigation takes us.”
And whilst the Kardashian family have stuck by their bodyguard since the raid, it is Kim’s husband Kanye West who will have the final say on whether or not he continues in his position.
A source told the publication: “Pascal isn’t irreplaceable. The family likes him but Kanye’s evaluating his family’s needs. He’ll decide.”
It was previously suggested that the robbery was likely an inside job, and police are looking for suspects among those who knew of Kim’s schedule.
A source said: “She doesn’t know who she can trust. Kim’s team is conducting an internal investigation -interviewing assistants and looking through phones for evidence that anyone may have communicated with the thieves. They are slowly ruling people out.”
The news comes at a time when the West family is looking to increase the size of their security team, with Kim expressing concerns about her two children – North, three, and Saint, 10 months – being “kidnapped”.
Another source said: “The kids being kidnapped is Kim’s biggest fear. She previously didn’t want to shell out for armed security, but now she realises the family needs 24-hour protection.”

Ozzy Osbourne surprises wife Sharon with birthday flowers

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne surprised his wife Sharon with birthday gifts on live TV.
The 67-year-old rocker, who has been busy touring with his band Black Sabbath, took time out from his schedule to stop by ‘The Talk’ studios, where his wife Sharon, 63, is co-host of the show.
Unbeknownst to the ‘X Factor’ judge, who turns 64 on Sunday (09.10.16), Ozzy came out to his hit song ‘Crazy Train’ to shower his wife with affection and an early birthday present.
He greeted her with: “Happy Birthday, darling,” before presenting her with a bunch of flowers and a gift before sharing an on-screen kiss.
The PDA showed a strength of unity following Ozzy’s recent infidelities.
The couple, who have been married since 1982, have recently been through a rough patch which led to a brief split in May, after Ozzy’s affair with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh. He later revealed he had been dealing with a sex addiction for six years.
Sharon had taken a month off from ‘The Talk’ to recover both mentally and emotionally following her husband’s cheating bombshell.
The showbiz couple share children Kelly, 31, Jack, 30, and Aimee, 33 together.
No doubt the birthday celebrations will continue over the weekend but Sharon is expected to not party too hard as she has reportedly given up booze and is expected to be busy with the ‘X Factor’ live shows in the UK, which start on Saturday (08.10.16).
A source previously revealed: “Sharon’s decided to stay off the booze as she has so much on her plate.”

Brad Pitt sees kids

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt has spent some “wonderful” time with his children.
The ‘Moneyball’ actor hadn’t seen Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight, since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on September 19, but he was recently granted some visitation time and enjoyed the reunion.
A source said: “Brad has spent some wonderful time with children recently.”
Angelina has been granted temporary custody of the children, while both she and Brad have been ordered to seek counselling and the 52-year-old star – who was reported to have got into a row with Maddox on the family’s private plane, prompting the 41-year-old actress to file for divorce – is undergoing voluntary drug and alcohol testing.
And the insider claims the ‘Big Short’ star – whose visits to the children must be supervised – is determined to do “whatever it takes” to maintain his connection to the kids.
The insider added to People magazine: “Brad loves his children more than anything in this world, and they matter more than anything else to him.
“He will do whatever it takes to be with them, now and always.”
It was recently claimed that Brad doesn’t want to “play dirty” in their custody battle, despite having “so much stuff” he could use against his estranged wife.
Speaking previously, a source said: “There is so much stuff on Angelina but Brad just doesn’t want to go there. He told his team he doesn’t want to play dirty.
“Brad just wants to work through everything and get to a place where there can be some certainty about what’s going on. The kids are the only thing he’s hanging on to.”
The current custody arrangement is in place until October 20.
In her divorce filing, the ‘Maleficent’ actress requested sole physical but joint legal custody of the kids, with her estranged spouse granted visitation rights, but Brad wants all custody to be shared.

Kelly Clarkson: Pregnancy is horrible!

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson forced her husband to get a vasectomy after “horrible” pregnancy.
The 34-year-old musician and her beau Brandon Blackstock have two children together – two-year-old River, and Remington, five months – but it doesn’t look as though any more are on the cards as the star says she’s done with being pregnant.
She said: “I was literally pregnant with Remy, and I was like, ‘You are getting fixed. This will never happen to me again. If something happens, it’s a miracle of God. I literally told my OBGYN on the table while open, ‘If I get pregnant again, I will find you!'”
And the ‘Because of You’ hitmaker – who is also stepmother to Brandon’s two kids from a previous relationship – doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about when it comes to pregnancy, as she found the ordeal “horrible”.
Speaking on US radio station SiriusXM, the ‘Piece By Piece’ singer said: “It’s horrible. Nothing is beautiful, nothing is magical. Whatever, you’re that person that gets that pregnancy, good for you. But I will remind my children every day of their lives what I [went through].”
It’s just the pregnancy that Kelly doesn’t like, however, as she’s previously branded motherhood as “inspiring” and it makes her feel “way more confident” and “empowered”.
She said: “It sounds so cheesy, but I feel way more confident, way more empowered and way more like I’ve got this. You just have so much going on all the time, especially because I’m a working mom – so many moving parts and so much navigation – that I just feel like I can do anything. I feel like the head of the village.”
“Being a mom is very inspiring. You don’t think it’s going to be because you’re so busy but it’s such a different world becoming a mother.”

Robbie Williams still faces drug temptation

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams still thinks about taking drugs.
The ‘Party Like A Russian’ singer has previously battled addiction, and though he is no longer tempted to drink alcohol, there are some narcotics that he still has to fight impulses to take.
He admitted: “I don’t want to drink and I don’t want to take coke, I’m really pleased I don’t take coke but I do think about ecstasy.”
The 42-year-old star – who has children Teddy, four, and Charlton, 23 months, with wife Ayda Field – still suffers from anxiety but is usually able to successfully keep his struggles hidden from the public.
He said: “There is only a two-minute window that people see into my life.
“Four or five if I’m on Graham Norton, making a video or on stage. That is the golden panto that is my life. You put yourself in the best light possible when you can for the short amount of time.
“It’s the Facebook life.
“But I still suffer from anxiety. As I look out at the skyline, I’m sure that at every window someone is facing their own worry and panic about their own life.”
And while recording his latest album, ‘Heavy Entertainment Show’, Robbie went to counselling because he suffered a crisis of confidence about having to promote himself and the record around the world.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’ve been to therapy again this year. It’s a big do putting an album out, speaking to people like yourself and going on TV shows and then doing it again, country after country.
“Even if I was the most sound person, it would be stressful. And I’m not the most sound person — I am the opposite of that.”
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker is proud of himself for feeling “brave” at the moment as he frequently battles his low self-esteem when he has to perform live.
He said: “My level of confidence has always been chronically low, but I’ve still managed to take myself to the places I’ve been in my career.
“I’ve done gigs in front of 70,000 people and felt like sh*t and thought that this is so overwhelming that I can’t do it. So I’ve been f***ing brave and I give myself a pat on the back for that.”
But as he’s got older, Robbie has learned better how to cope with depression.
He said: “It’s either low-level or high-level depression. So I try to take care of myself the best I can. If that means resting and taking myself away for a few hours then I will.
“Depression is a lifelong thing and I know I can still work and still pull it off, even though I’ll be feeling low. So I’m as kind to myself as possible.”
