OHMYGOSSIP — John Travolta was told to accept the role in ‘American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson’ by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
The 62-year-old actor, who played the role of O.J. Simpson’s attorney Robert Schapiro in the popular FX series, has admitted he spent four months contemplating whether to star in the 10-part series for months, but the advice of the American director, the ‘Cast Away’ star and his wife Rita swayed his decision.
Speaking to GQ.com about the show, which follows the 1994 murder trial of the former American football player’s partner Nicole Brown Simpson, the ‘Grease’ star said: “It was [Steven] Spielberg. It was Oprah [Winfrey]. It was Rita [Wilson] Hanks and Tom Hanks. And it was [former Disney magnate] Michael Eisner.
“They all thought it was completely the right move.
“[Spielberg and Eisner were] the most enthusiastic.”
And John – who boasts a successful career in the entertainment industry spanning over four decades – has revealed there are high points in everyone’s career, although actors are not “guaranteed” to be involved in every “high quality” project.
The ‘Forger’ actor – who has Benjamin, as well as 15-year-old daughter Ella, with wife Kelly Preston and whose eldest son Jett, 16, tragically died in 2009 – explained: “You have these points in your career when you are associated with high quality, with depth, communication, and things that matter on a social level. And when you hit those notes — whether it be ‘Primary Colors’, or on the cover of ‘Time’ magazine, or ‘Pulp Fiction’, or ‘Saturday Night Fever’, or ‘Urban Cowboy’ – where you’re affecting the society on a global level, then you feel a different kind of pride. It’s beyond the pride of success. It’s the pride of … integrity, I guess?
“You’re not always guaranteed to be involved with projects that will hit those notes. When you are, you really do register it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Caitlyn Jenner used to make Kendall and Kylie Jenner go to bed “hungry” if they didn’t finish their dinner.
The 67-year-old ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star – who was formerly known as Bruce Jenner before undergoing the gender transformation – used to be strict with his children Kylie, 19, and Kendall, 21, and would “get mad” at his daughters if they didn’t eat their dinner.
Speaking on her website kendallj.com about her upbringing, the raven-haired beauty said: “Growing up, my dad was way more strict than my mom. He was always reminding Kylie and me about school and homework – but we never really got in trouble for that. The one thing he would get mad at us for was not eating our food.
“So, if we wanted dessert, my dad insisted that we had to finish everything on our plates, including all of our vegetables and protein. He would tell us that if we didn’t finish, we would have to go to bed hungry, but we would still try to sneak dessert anyway.”
And the catwalk icon – who is set to hit the runway for Victoria’s Secret on Wednesday (30.11.16) – has revealed she would avoid eating any meals so she could “sneak away” and indulge in junk food.
She explained: “Sometimes, we would avoid eating all of our dinner so we could sneak away and eat junk food, like popsicles and other sweets.”
Although Kendall has revealed the former Olympian used to enforce some house rules, she has admitted her 61-year-old momager, Kris, and Caitlyn weren’t as strict as other parents, which makes her feel “blessed”.
She explained: “Luckily, my parents wouldn’t get upset over little things and they didn’t have that many rules.
“I had some friends with really strict parents — and those kids all turned out the most wild! I think my parents definitely raised me and Ky the right way, and I feel so blessed for that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Fassbender is “very vocal” when he works out, according to Marion Cotillard.
The 41-year-old actress, who plays the role of Doctor Sophia Rikkin in ‘Assassin’s Creed’ alongside the 39-year-old star, has revealed she has often told her co-star to “stop” working out because it sounds like he is “doing something else”, which is slightly more erotic than simply exercising.
Speaking on ‘The Project’ on Monday (28.11.16) about the obscure sounds Michael makes during his fitness routine, the brunette beauty said: “He works out a lot. And he’s very vocal.
“And sometimes you don’t even know if he’s actually working out or doing something else.
“Sometimes I was yelling, ‘Stop it now’.”
However, Michael – who has been cast as Callum Lynch/ Aguilar in the fantasy film, which he has also produced – has joked both exercising and the pleasurable act are “calorie burners” and great forms of exercise.
He quipped: “They’re all calorie burners.”
And the fair-haired hunk – who is currently dating fellow actress Alicia Vikander – has revealed he has never played the popular video game, which shares the same name as his upcoming movie, until he was approached to star in the production.
Speaking previously about the merchandise, he said: “I was totally ignorant. I decided it wasn’t the best thing for me to have around.”
And ‘The Light Between Oceans’ star has revealed he stopped playing video games 16 years ago.
Speaking previously he said: “The last time I had a serious stint with video games was 2000. There was a period of time where I was working in this warehouse at night.
“I would come home in the morning and just sit down in front of this racing game – I can’t even remember the name of it – and play it over and over.”
‘Assassin’s Creed’, which has been directed by Justin Kurzel and also stars Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson is set to hit the big screens in the UK on January 1, 2017.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone believes karaoke has “lost a little lustre”.
The 28-year-old actress, who has been cast as Mia in the upcoming movie musical ‘La La Land’ alongside Ryan Gosling, has admitted she “weirdly” doesn’t like karaoke and belting out tracks since filming the drama production.
Speaking about her recent project on ‘Good Morning America’ on Monday (28.11.16), the flame-haired beauty said: “I weirdly like karaoke so much less now.
“I don’t think anybody needs to hear me get up and sing in a karaoke room. It’s just that the karaoke experience has lost a little lustre after all that.”
And the Arizona-born star – who has starred alongside the 36-year-old actor in ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ and ‘Gangster Squad’ – has joked the Hollywood hunk has had to file a restraining order against her so they stop working with one another.
Speaking previously about her three-time co-star – who has daughters Esmeralda, two, and six-month-old Amada with his partner Eva Mendes – Emma quipped: “He has a restraining order against me now.
“I’m just going to have to stay like a hundred feet at everything else we do together.”
However, Emma has admitted she always enjoys working with ‘The Notebook’ actor because he is “fun” to be on set with, although she doesn’t know if they will join forces for another film in the future.
She explained: “No, it’s so much fun to work with him [but] I don’t know if they’ll let us do anything.”
And Ryan also feels the same, and is glad he has been able to find a “great” colleague in Emma to work with because he believes it brings out the best in his acting ability.
He said previously: “We made two films together and now three, and so you know it’s great to work with people you know.
“I think it brings the best out of them because you know one another, and you are able to help each other in a way that you can’t if you’re strangers.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West had “nightmares” about wife Kim Kardashian West before being hospitalised.
The 39-year-old rapper was left “shaken up” after his spouse – with who they share three-year-old daughter North and 11-month-old son Saint – was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France, earlier this year, which led him to have regular night terrors about his partner’s horrific ordeal prior to being admitted to Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles, California, last week.
A source told US Weekly: “[Kanye] was having nightmares.
“He’s been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris. It did a number on him as much as Kim.
“The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin. He wasn’t sleeping and he was having nightmares about it.
“The robbery triggered everything.”
And the ‘Famous’ rapper – who cancelled the remaining dates of his ‘Saint Pablo Tour’ just before his health scare – has revealed he cut his concert short because he was concerned for his family and their welfare and didn’t want to be away from his brood whilst he was performing.
The source added: “He really couldn’t do his shows without her around. That’s what made him worse. He didn’t want to be away from her … [The robbery] was just as hard for him, but he tried to keep going. He would never have cancelled the tour unless things were bad.
“Kim is his family and the only family he really has now. They took him in and embraced him. So seeing Kim traumatized did a major number on him.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star has been “helping to feed” Kanye whilst he’s been in hospital.
Speaking previously about the 36-year-old television personality, another source said: “Kim has been amazing. She knew he couldn’t keep going the way he was. She has been by his side through all of this, helping to feed him and laying by his side.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Heard has failed to donate any money to charity following her divorce settlement.
The 30-year-old actress reportedly agreed to give $7 million, which she was due to receive after splitting with her former partner Johnny Depp earlier this year, to the Children’s Hospital and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) domestic violence unit, but three months have passed and Amber has not made a single contribution, according to TMZ.
The former couple came up with the agreement in August this year after Amber claimed Johnny was “verbally and physically abusive” to her during the course of their relationship, and the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star was due to hand over a large sum of money to his ex-wife as part of their settlement.
Although the dark-haired hunk has previously donated the first instalment of $200 thousand equally to both organisations, the companies have yet to receive any money since.
And it has been reported the reason the golden-haired beauty has failed to make subsequent payments is because the pair have yet to sign the final settlement documents, and Johnny would rather pay the sum directly to the charities, whilst Amber wants to receive her part first before sending it on to the ACLU and Children’s Hospital to avoid Johnny from getting a tax deduction.
The ‘Magic Mike XXL’ star’s lawyer, Pierce O’Donnell, has told TMZ he predicts the papers will be signed this week.
Meanwhile, Amber – who is not allowed to mention the allegations made against Johnny, who has since had the domestic violence case dismissed, as part of their settlement – recently opened up about domestic violence in a new campaign for the #GirlGaze Project, which has been shared on YouTube.
In the video, the ‘Drive Angry’ star said: “I guess there was a lot of shame attached to that, the label of victim. It happens to so many women you know, when it happens in your home behind closed doors with someone you love it’s not straightforward.
“If a stranger did this as it was pointed out to me if a stranger did this it would be a no brainer.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Caitlyn Jenner believes the messages of support she received from the likes of Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus helped her youngest daughters accept her as transgender.
The former Olympian was still known as Bruce Jenner when she discussed her plans for gender reassignment with Diane Sawyer in April 2015, and she watched the ’20/20′ special with all her family.
And as the show aired, Caitlyn was inundated with social media posts of support from the likes of the two pop stars and ‘Rocket Man’ singer Sir Elton John.
In an outtake from upcoming documentary ‘The Trans List’ obtained by ‘Entertainment Tonight’, Caitlyn recalled: “Alright, so there I am. I’m sitting on this couch and Diane Sawyer is coming on. My young kids, especially Kendall and Kylie, they don’t want anybody to hurt their daddy.
“Now, I’m sitting on the couch with all my girls — Kourtney, Kimberly, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie — this is by far the most social media family in the world. They can sit there with their little phones and reach 140 million people all over the world.
“[Other stars] were all just going crazy on social media. I think at that point it made my two little girls, who obviously live in that world — I think it made them feel really good. Like, ‘You know what? It’s going to be OK. People still love my daddy.'”
Kendall recently admitted she found her parent’s transition “really hard” because she always thanked her dad for her “tomboy” ways.
She said: “We had ATVs and go-carts, and I grew up riding them all the time, which is why I’m a good driver. It’s super ironic to think about now, but it’s something I can thank my dad for: how much of a tomboy I was.
“That’s why I think the whole thing – her transition – was really hard for me, because I was like, ‘But you taught me everything, tomboy!'”
However, the catwalk icon has admitted she is slowly beginning to come to terms with her parents change, which she doesn’t view as “weird” anymore.
She explained: “It has gotten easier. I knew it was going to have its rough phase, but it’s all super normal now. It’s not weird at all.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dannii Minogue counts her sister Kylie Minogue as her “best mentor”.
The 45-year-old singer-and-actress is grateful to her 48-year-old sibling for helping her to stay “on track” and generally being a “guiding light” in her life when she has needed advice.
She said: “My sister [Kylie] is my best mentor. She’s always been there to bounce off ideas and help me stay on track.
“It’s more of a constant guiding light rather than just one piece of advice.”
Dannii – who has a six-year-old son, Ethan, with former partner Kris Smith – regularly travels between her and Kylie’s native Australia and the UK for work, so much so she feels as though the 22-hour flight is like a “regular bus ride”.
She said: “I have to be super-organised. The long-haul flight from London to Melbourne feels more and more like a regular bus ride – I get the most mummy sleep time when I travel without Ethan.
“Then, I have to say I draw on super-mum strength for working with jet lag. Unfortunately, despite all the years travelling, it never gets any easier for me.”
As well as being a successful singer, the brunette beauty has starred in several TV shows, including ‘Home and Away’ and as a regular performer in Australian variety programme ‘Young Talent Time’.
While Ethan is yet to feel embarrassed by the footage he has seen of his mother in the show, Dannii admits he may be in later life.
Speaking to TV Week, she added: “His grandma has shown him clips from ‘Young Talent Time’ and I don’t think he was embarrassed – it was just good, old-fashioned fun.
“Maybe as he gets a bit older, that may change.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey is still scared of his mother – even at the age of 47.
The Oscar-winning actor was raised along with his two brothers in Texas by his mother Mary and his late father James and he readily admits his mum, a former kindergarten teacher and published author, was an intimidating character when he was a kid and still is now at the ripe old age of 84.
In an interview on the ‘Fitzy and Wippa Show’ on radio station Nova FM, he said: “She’s 84, but she’s still spry.”
McConaughey still to this day will not answer to abbreviations of his Christian name, like ‘Matt’ or ‘Matty’, due to an incident at kindergarten when his mother Mary, who was also his teacher, admonished him for answering to a nickname.
He remembered: “I answered to Matt one time when I was in kindergarten, when my Mum was my teacher. My buddy goes, ‘Hey Matt! Wanna play on the monkey bars?’ and I said, ‘Yeah,’ and ran to the monkey bars … and next thing I know I feel a hand on my shoulder pull me back and body slam me to the ground – and it was my mother. She says to me, ‘What’s your name?’ and I said, ‘Matthew …’ and she goes, ‘Why did you answer to Matt?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, I knew he was talking to me!’ Then she said ‘Don’t you ever answer to that again – I named you Matthew on purpose.’ So if anyone calls me ‘Matt’ I know they either don’t know me well or they’re jacking with me.”
The ‘Sing’ star has three children, Levi, eight, Vida, six, and Livingston, three, with his wife Camila Alves.
And it seems that McConaughey has picked a wife who shares his mother’s penchant for strictness as Alves has previously admitted she is a “strict but fun” parent.
She said: “I am a strict parent that also has fun. A combination of both. I think it’s very important to teach kids manners, respect others. I can get very, very silly and I think that if you set the basis, then you can go and be free and have fun and go crazy, but they’re always going to remember that base core value that you taught them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea has been branded a “weirdo” by Guy Sebastian.
The 26-year-old rapper has been accused of not being “invested” in ‘The X Factor’ Australia by her fellow judge, who doesn’t feel she was a good match alongside herself, Adam Lambert and Mel B.
Explaining why he thinks this year’s show was a flop, he told the Herald Sun newspaper: “The ratings were a huge struggle, but I think there was a lot against us.
“[The season] was brutally short. We said goodbye to four people in one episode. I mean, come on. And it wasn’t the right chemistry on the panel.”
“[Iggy is] a bit of a weirdo. I don’t really get Iggy. You’ve got to be invested and she didn’t turn up.”
And the 35-year-old singer called for some big changes to be made to this year’s show, which was won by Isaiah Firebrace.
He added: “It’s time to evolve the show. People aren’t stupid.
“They know manufactured television, and they know when something has run its course and people are clutching at straws.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Candle’ singer has opened up about his “manipulative and controlling” religious upbringing.
Discussing how his past inspired new song ‘Conscious’, he said: “I was in something that was very manipulative and very controlling, but there are a lot of beautiful people who are in the faith.
“For me, I was in a scenario that … didn’t necessarily embrace individuality. It became very much about a set of rules and you’re judged on that. If anybody broke away from it, or questioned it, then you had a ‘bad attitude,’ or were ‘drifting away,’ or ‘not worthy.’
“It’s OK to ask questions and go through your own journey. More so, it’s important to know people grow up differently than you, and they believe different things. It’s not about who’s right or wrong.”
