OHMYGOSSIP — James Corden will only be a part of the Grammy Awards for “18 minutes”.
The ‘Late Late Show’ presenter will host the upcoming music ceremony but insists it isn’t that big a job as the emphasis on the night is on the handing out of the gongs and the performances from artists including Adele, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry and John Legend.
He said: “The strange thing about the Grammys is it’s not really a traditional hosting gig like the Oscars, Emmys, and Tonys are. It’s in the Staples Centre, in this big arena, and there are these unbelievable music performances.
“So what’s the job of the host, really? It’s essentially to usher the evening for the audience at home. If there wasn’t an audience at home, this could all very easily happen without a host.
“The truth is I’m only really in the show for something like 18 minutes. The show’s three and a half hours long, but when you take out commercials, the music performances, and the actual presenting of the awards, you’re only left with like 18 minutes.”
The 38-year-old presenter is looking forward to the rehearsals more than the event itself as the run-throughs mean he’ll be treated to some intimate performances from the star-studded line-up.
Asked what he’s most looking forward to, he told Vulture: “The rehearsal days, actually, because you get to be in an empty arena while the biggest acts in the world essentially perform just for you.
“It’s not lost on me what a privilege it is to do such a thing.”
James fronted the Tony Awards last year and while he’d love to host the ceremony, which honours excellence in theatre, again in the future, he doesn’t think it would be right to take the gig again this year.
He said: “I don’t know if I could do it this year, really. To host the Grammys and the Tonys in one year is perhaps a little greedy.
“Don’t get me get wrong, though, hosting that show is a dream come true to me. I’d cry my eyes out if I thought that I could never host it again. But if that were the case, I’d be thrilled that I got to host it last year.
“I’ve never been so aware of how much I’m enjoying something at the time that I’m doing it than hosting the Tonys.
“But I also don’t know that the audience wants the same person to host all these shows. I’m very conscious of not overstaying my welcome.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna has been granted permission to adopt four-year-old twin girls.
The ‘Hung Up’ hitmaker – who denied last month she had made a bid to take on the care of two kids from Malawi – has been told she is free to take little Esther and Stella back to the US after being granted an adoption order by the Malawi High Court.
However, the 58-year-old star also has children Lourdes, 20, and Rocco, 18, as well as David, 11, and Mercy, also 11, who were both adopted from the African nation – will be under observation by the court for a year before the process can be finalised, and a home study must be submitted to authorities.
Speaking after the closed proceedings in Judge Fiona Mwale’s chambers, judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula said: “Today the High Court made a ruling that she should go ahead and adopt the two children.
“Within a year she should provide us with a home survey report which the court has ordered her to provide.”
According to MailOnline, the representative said Madonna was smiling after the court’s ruling and they could not provide any details on the children.
While the spokesperson couldn’t disclose the children’s identities, Lucy Bandazi, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, previously confirmed Madonna had submitted paperwork to adopt the twin girls, who had been in an orphanage for two years
She previously said of the process: “All the necessary paperwork is before the High Court and they will make the ultimate decision if the adoption can go ahead.
“We will look at her financial situation and her social situation. There will be a lot of factors that are taken into consideration.
“Just because she is famous it does not mean procedures will be overlooked.
“The judge will take into consideration all her social factors, such as where she will live and where the children will be brought up.”
Following the adoption reports last month, Madonna insisted she was in Malawi just to check up on the work carried out by her Raising Malawi charity.
She said in a statement: “I am in Malawi to check on the children’s hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi and then heading home.
“The rumours of an adoption process are untrue.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Travolta believes the key to his happy marriage to Kelly Preston is being able to laugh at one another.
The ‘People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story’ actor admits he and his spouse – who he wed in 1991 – experience their fair share of “stress”, but are able to overcome their problems with humour.
He said: “We just have a great sense of humour about each other. You know we have the stress that everyone else has, but also there’s the moment… I don’t know why I’m laughing, but we have that ability to have good fun at each other, you know.”
And the 62-year-old star loves spending time with his “exceptional” children, Ella, 16, and Benjamin, six.
He told ‘Extra’: “They’re exceptional. That sounds like bragging… they are are exceptional children. I really like them as people as much as I love them as a father.”
Kelly recently revealed she makes John dress up as his characters when they are home alone.
Asked if she first saw John’s portrayal of lawyer Robert Shapiro in ‘The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story’ on TV, she said: “No I saw it at home. I would make him do it.”
And when ‘Extra’ presenter Mario Lopez quipped they were doing “a little role-playing”, she said: “All the time. I make him play all the characters. You kidding me?”
And John previously revealed the birth of Benjamin a year after he and Kelly tragically lost their oldest son Jett, who suffered a seizure and died at the age of 16, had helped “rebond” their family back together.
He said: “We certainly have bonded together.
“Certainly having little Ben has been a beautiful kind of glue for us to rebond after a tremendous loss.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Pink has praised Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
The ‘Trouble’ hitmaker has dismissed suggestions the ‘Born This Way’ singer copied her by abseiling from the roof in a harness at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday (05.02.17) and called for people to “celebrate” the 30-year-old pop superstar for being brave enough to take on such an awe-inspiring stunt.
The 37-year-old singer – who has six-week-old baby Jameson Moon and five-year-old daughter Willow Sage with her husband Carey Hart – also reminded fellow Americans that there are more important issues to think about including the fact that the newly-elected President of America, Donald Trump, is trying to strip “humanity away minute by minute”.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (06.02.17) to shut down gossipers, Pink wrote: “For the record: Let’s squash this before it even has a chance to be a thing…. Lady Gaga killed it yesterday. Her voice was powerful, her outfits were on point, choreography stellar, her heart was in it and she sang about love and inclusiveness, all in front of millions and millions of people. Let’s celebrate a woman who has the guys to jump off a roof and stand up there in the first place. Who cares if I flew first? Cause I didn’t! Cirque and Peter Pan been in the air for years! Gaga had her spectacular Super Bowl rooftop abseil planned a month before the show.
She wowed crowds as she took to the stage via the roof – and subsequently insisted she had no last-minute nerves about completing the epic and potentially dangerous decent.
Speaking backstage after the performance, she said: “I made the decision about a month ago that I was gonna do it and I just stayed solid and went for it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B branded her husband Stephen Belafonte a “d***head” in a touching tribute on their 10th wedding anniversary.
The 41-year-old singer married the movie producer – with whom she has five-year-old daughter Madison – in June 2007, and she took to Instagram on Monday night (06.02.17) to shut down anyone who has ever said their marriage wouldn’t last, whilst also taking a sly dig at him.

The ‘Lip Sync Battle’ host – who also has two daughters, 17-year-old Phoenix, and Angel, nine, from her marriage to Jimmy Gulzar and fling with Eddie Murphy respectively – met the 41-year-old producer on the set of a film called ‘Talk’, and they were friends for years before embarking on a romantic relationship.
The pair tied the knot after just four months of dating, and Stephen – who also has a daughter, Giselle, from a previous relationship – insisted that he had “never connected” with someone the way that he did with Mel, and that knowing her as a friend beforehand had made the dating process easier.
He said: “I’d never connected with someone on so many levels and, after a while, it just lined up. Knowing each other so intimately already meant all our cards were on the table. She knew all my crazy s**t, and I had her full story. That’s been an amazing base for us. I’ve never had that before.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake plans to “sneak” alcohol into the Oscars.
The 36-year-old star has received his first Academy Awards nomination for his ‘Trolls’ song ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ and plans to combat the fact the ceremony is famously tricky to get drunk at – because the bar at the Dolby Theatre is situated outside the main space and there is no service within the auditorium – by bringing along his own hip flask.
Discussing his plans for the ceremony, which takes place on February 26, at the Academy Awards Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Monday (06.02.17), he told the Hollywood Reporter: “We’ll try to sneak a flask in.”
The ‘SexyBack’ hitmaker previously admitted he felt “humbled” to be nominated for Best Original Song.
He said: “I’m really humbled by the whole thing. I think most of all; I was excited the whole year that people responded to the song.
“Now more than ever we need something that puts a kick in someone’s step and unites us through a good feeling. I think that is what I was always most happy about that it gives people a good feeling.
“For the Academy to recognise this song? Wow. Yeah, I’m pinching myself.”
And Justin – who wrote the track along with songwriters Max Martin and Johan Schuster – said it was his wife Jessica Biel who broke the good news to him as he was “recovering” from a late night at the studio when the nominations were announced.
He added: “I was recovering from a late night at the studio so when I woke up there was a whirlwind of emails and texts, but my wife broke the news to me which was even sweeter.
“We were just giddy this morning, and I’m still like in a tornado. I’m just really honoured and grateful they recognised the song. I’ve honestly been walking around today thinking, ‘Did that happen?’ Obviously it was a great year for Max and Johan and myself with the success of the song. I’m having a pinch-yourself moment.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele has reportedly rejected endorsement deals worth £40 million for the sake of her son.
The 28-year-old pop superstar is doing all she can to ensure four-year-old son Angelo – whom she has with long-term partner Simon Konecki, 42, – is kept out of the limelight by shunning attempts for her to promote family-friendly products and is also said to have turned down a hefty sum of money to feature her family in a reality TV series.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “Adele could fill her whole year with these offers of endorsements and TV work without having to do any singing at all – the offers have simply come flooding in for months on end.
“Adele is a top performer but her caring mum image is just as appealing to companies.
“Her down-to-earth approach to her success and her maternal side are huge plus points for making films.”
The news comes after the ‘Hello’ hitmaker previously rejected the opportunity to perform at Sunday’s (05.02.16) Super Bowl half-time show as she didn’t feel like the performance was “about music”.
On her decision not to perform, Adele said: “First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really – I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”
It was previously claimed that organisers were desperate to sign Adele up for the prestigious slot, which was eventually taken by Lady Gaga.
A source said at the time: “There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organisers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue has succeeded in her bid to stop Kylie Jenner from trademarking their shared first name.
The ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ hitmaker lodged legal paperwork to stop the 19-year-old reality star’s bit to obtain the rights to their moniker in February 2016, almost two years after the make-up guru had applied for the trademark, and it has now been revealed that Jenner has had her application rejected.
However, the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star is said to be launching an appeal with the United States’ Patent and Trademark Office as she wants to use Kylie for her own fashion and beauty line.
When the 48-year-old singer – who recently split from fiance Joshua Sasse – first lodged her objection to the trademark claim, she branded Jenner a “secondary star” in her paperwork.
In the documents, the teenager was described as a “supporting character” in the family television show, ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, and criticised for her “photographic exhibitionism” on social media which have brought about criticism from disability rights groups and African-American communities.
They state: “Ms. Jenner is a secondary reality television personality who appeared on the television
series ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ as a supporting character, to Ms. Jenner’s half-sisters, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian (i.e., the Kardashians).
“Ms. Jenner is active on social media where her photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African-American communities.”
The Australian pop star was described as an “internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian, and breast cancer activist” in the documents of opposition.
The ‘Wow’ singer already owns the trademarks for the terms ‘Kylie Minogue darling’, ‘Lucky – the Kylie Minogue musical’ and ‘Kylie Minogue’, and has had the rights to the web domain Kylie.com since 1996 – a year before her namesake was born.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone “humiliated herself” when she had her hand print cemented in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
The 28-year-old actress had “no idea” what was happening when she and her ‘La La Land’ co-star, Ryan Gosling, were selected for the honour in December last year, because she thought the famous area in California was “full” and hers wouldn’t actually be displayed.
However, when Emma found out the truth, she felt overwhelmed with emotion and was “humiliated” by her naivety.
Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Monday (06.02.17), the flame-haired beauty said: “I had no idea what the hell was going on.
“[I thought], ‘They’ve got all the hand and footprints. This is just a fun little celebration and they put it up in a museum somewhere.’ I don’t know why I thought this. It wasn’t explained to me.
“So when we went I was like, ‘This is gonna be a nostalgic celebration, we’re gonna put our hands and feet in the cement and then they’re gonna take it away and then they’re gonna put it inside’. Then they were like, ‘Here’s your practice [cement slab] and then, when you get out there for the real one that stays out there, you’ll know what to do.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean stays out there!?’ … I had no idea!”
“[I] burst into tears and really humiliated myself.”
And the ‘Easy A’ star admitted “everyone” was surprised she was so clueless about the significance of the ceremony.
She explained: “Everyone was like, ‘I don’t understand how you didn’t know that’s what this is.'”
However, Emma has always wanted to have a cast made of her limbs on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and had a memento made up when she visited the popular tourist site as a teenager, which she still owns.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebekah and Jamie Vardy’s baby son still has jaundice.
The 30-year-old professional footballer’s wife Rebekah Vardy gave birth to their second child Finley three weeks ago but the couple have been plagued with worry because the little one has been battling with the condition, which causes yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes because the liver doesn’t process a substance called Bilirubin properly.
Writing in her column for OK! magazine, Rebekah said: “Poor Finley is still having to have blood taken for his prolonged jaundice to see if he needs further treatment or not.”
And it’s not just the jaundice, which can also be a sign of a more serious condition but usually clears up with frequent feedings and exposure to indirect sunlight, Finley has been dealing with as he’s also been struck down with the sniffles and the brunette beauty has been sitting in the bathroom all day with the tot to try and clear his nose with the steam from the shower.
She explained: “The lurgy is going round our house this week. I’m putting saline up Finley’s nose at night and I’ve been sitting with him in the bathroom with the hot shower running in the day to steam him. He loves it.”
Rebekah – who also has two-year-old daughter Sofia with her spouse – had a very traumatic delivery with Finley as the tot’s head had blocked her cervix, meaning her waters couldn’t break and the process couldn’t progress the way it should.
She previously said: “The pain of labour was so intense, I was in agony. I nearly broke Jamie’s fingers. [The midwife] broke my waters without a consultant in the end because of the pain I was in, the level of my contractions and how long they were lasting.”
Jamie also has five-year-old daughter Ella with his ex-partner Emma Daggett, while Rebekah has daughter Megan, 11, and son Taylor, six, from two previous relationships.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John has paid a touching tribute to George Michael hailing him “one of the best vocalists ever”.
The ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker shared a close friendship with the late former Wham! star – who tragically passed away at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on Christmas Day (25.12.16) – and says he should be remembered for his “wonderful music” and generosity.
Speaking about the ‘Careless Whisper’ singer on his Apple Beats 1 radio show on Tuesday (07.02.17), he said: “I wanted to do a little tribute to him on the show because not only was he a good friend, but he was probably one of the most brilliant songwriters this country’s ever produced, and certainly one of the best vocalist ever. One of the best in the world.”
On their close bond, he shared: “It was an amazing friendship based on music to start with, and I remember sitting in the car just off of Hyde Park listening to a cassette of ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go’ and I said, ‘George, that’s the nearest record I’ve heard to a Motown record for years and years’.
“It was such a great record, and he and I became great friends.”
Since his death many people have been coming forward to share the late singer’s secret acts of kindness, and Elton, 69, says his “humanity” will be sorely missed.
He added: “I just want to remember him for his wonderful music and his kindness, which people are commenting on.”
“He was the kindest, most generous man, and did it without wanting any publicity.
“I’ve seen him being so kind to so many people. I’ll miss him so much for his music but more than anything his humanity.”
Following the news of his death, fans took to Twitter to share stories of his philanthropy, that were kept secret during his lifetime.
‘Pointless’ presenter Richard Osman, who was previously an executive producer on ‘Deal or No Deal’, tweeted: “A woman on Deal Or No Deal told us she needed £15k for IVF treatment. George Michael secretly phoned the next day and gave her the £15k (sic).”

One person replied to Richard saying: “he gave a stranger in a cafe £25k as she was crying over debt. Told the waitress to give her the cheque after he left (sic),” while another added: “George Michael worked anonymously at a homeless shelter I was volunteering at. I’ve never told anyone, he asked we didn’t. That’s who he was.”
Another wrote: “omg amazing! I remember he would phone help a London child every year and match all the donations,” and one Twitter user said: “he would drive around London and feed homeless. Brilliant legend. Very sad (sic).”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran feels “pretty good” about the possibility of marrying his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.
The 25-year-old singer has been in a relationship with his former school friend since the middle of 2015, and things have been getting serious between the pair as he has hinted he might like to tie the knot with the hockey player in the future.
Asked if his relationship with Cherry has the potential to be a “marriage thing”, the ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker said: “I’m pretty…yeah I feel pretty good about it.”
And his planned future with the beauty doesn’t just stop at marriage, as he also admits he would “love” to have a family with his beau.
When asked during an appearance on Australian radio show ‘The Kyle and Jackie O Show’ if he would like to expand his family with Cherry, Ed said: “Yeah, potentially. I would like some kids.”
Although the pair might not have children just yet, the ‘Shape of You’ musician recently revealed they are living together and have taken the first step to creating a family by getting pet cats together.
He said: “I’m actually the happiest I’ve been and it’s because I had a year to spend with someone. I’ve always started relationships then gone off on tour. I spent every day for a year with this certain person, we kind of have a strong relationship now which is good. I’m really secure now, we live together and we have cats, and I think when you have cats that’s kind of it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Thicke’s son Carter says the star’s death hasn’t “set in yet”.
The ‘Growing Pains’ actor had been complaining of chest pains whilst he was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son when he collapsed at Pickwick Gardens ice skating rink in Burbank, California, last month and later died in hospital, and Carter – whose mother is Alan’s second wife Gina Tolleson – has now said he still believes his late father is “going to be there” when he comes home.
He said: “It’s kind of one of those things, you don’t really know if it has set in yet.
“Driving home is kind of weird. You think you’re going to come into the drive and come into the house and he’s going to be there and he’s not. So I don’t think it’s something that’s necessarily set in in that way.
“There’s always that kind of that hope that, ‘Oh, it’s a crappy dream, it’s gonna be fine,’ but yeah … I think that next day [after his death] was pretty rough for me. Definitely.”
Carter also praised his father – who also has two sons Brennan, 41, and Robin, 39, with his first wife Gloria Loring – for being the “perfect dad”.
He told ET Canada: “He was my go to for everything, any advice I needed … he was like the perfect dad. Anything I ever needed, he was there for.”
Meanwhile, Carter recently opened up about his last moments with his beloved father, who was 69 years old when he died from a ruptured aorta.
Carter said: “The ambulance came and the paramedics had stabilised him and everything seemed fine.
“I got to give him a hug and said, ‘I love you,’ and that was the last time I saw him.
“He was like the perfect dad.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West’s late father recommended the first book for her new book club.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star has revealed it was her dad Robert Kardashian who suggested she read ‘Embraced by the Light’, which is the book she has chosen to share with her pals in her book club.
Writing on her official app, she shared: “When I was in high school, my dad used to get me to read this book but I was always too busy. I was always wanting to hang out with my friends on the weekends, never wanting to read it when I wasn’t in school. He literally tried everything. He said that it’s a fascinating story about a woman who dies during surgery, goes to heaven and remembers her whole experience and came back to life to share all of her experiences.
“I read it again after having kids and after the life experiences that I’ve had more recently and now the book means something different to me. It just gives me tools on how to live a better life here and live life to its potential and just be more spiritual and one with God … I had an amazing conversation with her [author Betty J. Eadie] that just really soothed my soul. I feel so lucky to have had the chance to speak with her.”
Kim announced last week that she had joined forces with her pals Chrissy Teigen and celebrity stylist Jen Atkin to share her passion for reading.
She announced: “So guys….. @chrissyteigen & @jenatkinhair & I are starting a book club! I’m making them read “Embraced By The Light” as our first book! … Everyone’s invited!!!! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — David Oyelowo wants more female directors in the film industry.
The ‘A United Kingdom’ star is keen to see more women take the helm of movies and admits one of the “biggest challenges” of modern day film-making is getting people to leave their homes to watch a film.
He said: “I’d love to see a lot more movie stars demanding that female directors be considered for their movies …
“The biggest challenge [of working in movies in 2017] is getting people to actually leave their homes to go and watch a film in a movie theatre. There’s so much great television these days, it means your film has to be exceptional to persuade people to leave the house.”
The 40-year-old actor trained as a stage actor first and foremost and believes it is the “best possible preparation” for stepping in front of the camera.
Answering questions on Quora, he shared: “I think stage is the best possible preparation for being on-camera because if you know what it feels like to say great dialogue to actual people night after night you can make most dialogue feel truthful while being around cameras and the artificial environment of a film set.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Selma’ star previously admitted he is a reluctant “spokesperson for diversity”.
He explained: “I am a spokesperson for diversity, reluctantly. Because if I don’t do it, then I am part of the problem. And we do have a problem. I recently worked with four female directors in a row and that has been made such a big deal of. No one highlights when an actor works with 15,20,25 male directors in a row.
“My refrain is that we need to stop talking about diversity and just start doing diversity. We all have our bias, so the only way to have true diversity is to have more of a mix of people who are decision-makers in order that their natural bias is what is seen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Dunham thinks it’s “so hard” for young women to date in the spotlight.
The ‘Girls’ star defended her close pal Taylor Swift – who has dated the likes of Tom Hiddleston, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal – as she believes she has had a “perfectly normal amount of romantic partners” for someone her age but is “held to impossibly high standards” because of her fame.
Speaking on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show, she said: “I think that young women … it’s so hard. I think about the relationships that I had in my early twenties and if they had been public, it would’ve been a disaster.
“And also, I mean, not to repeat age-old feminist points, but it’s like you know, any male actor her age who’s going out and dating is applauded and to just have a perfectly normal amount of romantic partners but be held to impossibly high standards by the press, like it’s just an unfair and unwinnable game.”
Meanwhile, Lena previously described the infamous girl squad – which is led by 27-year-old Taylor – as a “witches’ coven”.
Speaking of the group – which also contains the likes of Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters, Gigi Hadid and Lorde – Lena shared: “Speaking of camp mother, I feel that Taylor [Swift] has really taken control and said, ‘I’m going to get us all together in the same place, I’m gonna make it very clear that friendship is powerful and women are magic and if anybody thinks this is a witches’ coven they might be right.’ She’s just made it her job in a very cool way.”
