OHMYGOSSIP — Denzel Washington says The Academy should re-design the Oscar statuette to look like Meryl Streep – in recognition of her success at the ceremony.
The 62-year-old Hollywood star’s film ‘Fences’ is up for four Oscars at the upcoming event, with him being in the running for Best Director and Best Actor for the drama – which was written by the late August Wilson and is based on his Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name.
Meryl, 67, broke her own record for the most Academy Award nominations this year by being listed in the Best Actress category for her performance in the titular role in ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ and is one of just six actors to have won three or more Academy Awards for acting.
Denzel has now joked it’s time the golden figurine was changed to represent Meryl because she is such a wonderful talent.
In an interview on UK station BBC Radio 2, he quipped: “Meryl Streep, what’s she been nominated, like, 20 times now? I think they should change the statue and it should look like Meryl.”
Denzel himself can join the elite club of actors who have three or more Oscars at their home if he walks away from the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, on February 26 with another prize.
The other five members on that exclusive group are Katharine Hepburn with four wins and Daniel Day-Lewis, Jack Nicholson,
Ingrid Bergman and Walter Brennan all with three like Meryl.
Denzel admits he has thought about winning his third Oscar but he is just happy that the movie is up for four accolades, including Viola Davis for Best Supporting Actress.
When asked if he’d envisaged winning again, Denzel – who was named Best Supporting Actor for ‘Glory’ and Best Actor for ‘Training Day’ – said: “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t, but what you gonna do with that? You can’t spend money you don’t have … I like to see other people do well and I know this is one of those times where the actor meets the performance and I’m talking about Viola Davis, she gives a performance I’ve never seen before. I’m happy that August Wilson is being exposed to a wider audience and we’re bringing his brilliance to the screen. I’ve won already, I really have. It would be fantastic if we won all four.”
Before the Oscars, Viola, 51, is up for Best Supporting Actress award at the BAFTAs in London this Sunday (12.02.17) for her performance as Rose Lee Maxson, the wife of Denzel’s alter ego Troy’s Maxson.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gavin Rossdale was determined not to make a break-up record after divorcing Gwen Stefani.
The Bush frontman – split from the blonde beauty in 2015 after 13 years of marriage – didn’t want his personal life to be the focus of upcoming new album ‘Black and White Rainbows’ so has penned a “socially-conscious” LP about a diverse range of subjects affecting the wider world instead.
He said: “After what I went through, people make those break-up records and I wanted to make a euphoric, socially-conscious record that has wide-ranging subjects going from the plight of the refugees to the fact we’re destroying the planet to the lack of inter-connectedness.”
The 51-year-old rocker – who has daughter Daisy Lowe, 28, with former lover Pearl Lowe, and sons Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, two, with Gwen – believes it is important he use his position to try and make the world a better place, instead of being self-obsessed.
He added to RadioTimes.com: “Because I’m the father of so many children, I want to leave the world in a better place in my tiny miniscule way. I’m a piece of dust on the earth, but as an artist it’s imperative that we do something of value and not only just moan about ourselves.”
In contrast, Gwen – who is now dating country singer Blake Shelton – penned her latest album, ‘This Is What The Truth Feels Like’, in the wake of the end of her marriage and she previously admitted working on the record helped ease her pain over the split.
She said: “I feel like God just handed these songs to me as a kind of Band-Aid, to help me through this crazy time in my life. And it’s all about finding your talent and then sharing it.
“I think of being able to pour my emotions into songs as a gift. It’s very gratifying to be able to go through those difficult and negative feelings and use them to create something positive.
“I was aching to be creative again, so this has been inspiring and comforting because I was feeling insecure about my work. Now I feel I’ve got my confidence back.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Leighton Meester feels lucky to have “amazing fans”.
The 30-year-old actress thinks she is “different” now to when she played Blair Waldorf in ‘Gossip Girl’ and has “grown into” her new role in time travel comedy ‘Making History’, and thinks her loyal supporters will enjoy it too.
She said: “I think I’m different.
“I started ‘Gossip Girl’ 10 years ago when I was 20, and I’m 30 now.
“I loved doing it, and now I’m doing something else that I love, and something new that’s a little bit more my taste as a 30 year old, something I’ve grown into.
“I feel so lucky that I can have such amazing fans, and they either grew up with [the show] or they’re growing up with it now. I’ve also heard people say, ‘Oh, we watch that as a throwback.’ ”
‘Making History’ is Leighton’s first role since she and husband Adam Brody welcomed their daughter Arlo into the world in August 2015 and she admits she had high standards in place when choosing what would bring her back to work.
She told Rogue magazine: “When I went into [the show], and when I decided that I wanted to work consistently on something [since becoming a mom], I had criteria. I read other [scripts] too, but this was just the one. It was love at first sight.”
And the actress is “proud” to be a part of a show, which is about a professor who creates a device to change history and improve his life.
She said: “I’m proud to work on a show that uplifts the female lead and has a not-so-subtle yet approachable commentary on the treatment and mistreatment of women throughout the ages.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Two men claiming to be Blac Chyna’s managers want ‘Rob & Chyna’ shut down.
The 28-year-old reality star is currently under threat of being sued by Jason Alston and Lincoln Hayes of Infinite Grind Multimedia, who claim she signed a 10-year contract with them in 2007, and they have now warned producers of the E! show they will add them into the proposed lawsuit if they shoot, promote, or air the programme.
According to TMZ, the management duo claim Chyna owes them at least $3 million in unpaid fees, and so want her show to be pulled as it is only making her richer while she isn’t paying them anything, despite their alleged agreement.
However, ‘Rob & Chyna’ bosses would have no duty to pay any management fees on behalf of the star so it is unclear on what grounds they could be added to a lawsuit.
Jason and Lincoln previously claimed they discovered Chyna – who has four-year-old son King Cairo with ex-boyfriend Tyga and three-month-old daughter Dream with fiance Rob Kardashian – when she was a stripper in Washington and helped her land magazine covers.
Under the terms of the deal they made, Chyna was required to hand over 50 per cent of her earnings over the 10-year period beginning in June 2007, but they are unsure exactly how much money they are owed as she has made deals without their involvement.
The pair vowed to take legal action if she doesn’t pay them by June this year, when their alleged agreement comes to an end.

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Jones had sex in Buckingham Palace.
The 39-year-old presenter claims he and wife Phylicia got frisky in a bathroom at the royal residence, which they were visiting for a charity event.
Asked the most famous house he’s been in on ‘Through The Keyhole’, he said: “Buckingham Palace. For like a charity thing, I took my wife with me and we had sex in the bathroom.”
Host Keith Lemon asked: “Did you really?”
And Steve – who has previously been romantically linked with the likes of Pamela Anderson and Halle Berry – simply nodded in reply.
The former ‘X Factor USA’ host and Phylicia tied the knot in 2014 just a month after getting engaged, but the presenter previously admitted he wants to marry her over and over again.
He said:”The problem though is that Phylicia’s so fantastic I want to keep marrying her.
“I love her so much that I keep thinking, ‘Right, I’m going to propose in this moment, because she’s so perfect’. Then I think, ‘Oh wait a minute, she’s already my wife!’ ”
Steve’s revelation comes after Robbie Williams revealed he had once smoked marijuana in Queen Elizabeth’s London home.
He said: “Threw up in Buckingham Palace? No. But I smoked a spliff in Buckingham Palace.”
And Robbie isn’t the only person to do drugs in the Palace as Stephen Fry revealed he took cocaine in there too, as well as the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Detailing the time in his autobiography ‘More Fool Me’ in 2014, he said: “There is no getting away from it. I am confessing to having broken the law and consumed, in public places, Class A sanctioned drugs. OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin doesn’t have “fun” playing President Donald Trump on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
The 58-year-old actor’s popular portrayal of the US leader has won a lot of praise, but while he loves being a part of the sketch show, he doesn’t particularly enjoy the political part because it requires so much negative energy.
He said: “I enjoy being a part of it. Playing him is not a lot of fun. He’s tense, he’s angry, he’s p***ed off, and that’s not fun to play.
“I keep coming back to the same thing, which is he won, I thought he would have settled down [now] and relaxed…”
White House press secretary Sean Spicer recently described Alec’s portrayal of his boss as “mean”, but the actor isn’t surprised.
He said: “What’s he supposed to say? All those guys are working for Trump and they’re going to say what they need to say to fit in, to get along.”
This weekend, Alec will host ‘SNL’ for a record-breaking 17th time and he’s grateful for the opportunity, as well as amazed he’s been invited back so often.
Speaking to his wife Hilaria for ‘Extra’, he said: “I am so grateful to be back and hosting the show, I can’t believe I’ve done it 17 times.
“We sat the other day and looked through some of the IMDB [entries], what dates I did it, with who, and even I was kind of amazed, like ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’ve done it so many times.’
“I haven’t done it in four or five years, it’s fun, it’s very unique, it’s the only place you can do this, it’s live so there’s a little bit of tension to that, and the stuff is silly.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Santa Montefiore misses her “darling sister” Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
The 47-year-old British author, formerly known as Santa Palmer-Tomkinson before she married Simon Sebag Montefiore, has shared a heartfelt tribute to her late sibling – who was found dead at her London home on Wednesday (08.02.17) aged 45 – on social media, which saw her publicly declare how she longs to have Tara back.
Alongside a sweet picture of the socialite, which was edited with a black and white filter, and was shared on Santa’s Twitter account, she wrote: “My darling sister. I miss you. #TaraPalmerTomkinson #tpt #rip (sic).”
And Santa has revealed the brunette beauty’s partying lifestyle came as no surprise to her because when the pair were children the ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant – who was the runner up on the 2002 hit show – was regularly caught “flirting” with boys or smoking, whilst she had her head in her books.
Speaking previously, the writer said: “While I was head of house, vice head of school and played lacrosse for England, she was smoking behind the bike sheds or hanging out with all the handsome boys from the boys’ school.”
However, the girls “never competed” with one another and would always praise the other on their achievements.
She explained: “We’ve never competed. In fact, we’re quick to celebrate each others success.”
Tara revealed last November she had been diagnosed with a non-malignant brain tumour last year, which she thought would kill her, and her friends claimed she became “reclusive” and had started discussing her funeral after receiving the news.
A friend explained: “Her health had left her in a really bad way and she was very low. She thought about death a lot and even discussed her funeral at points.”
A post-mortem will be carried out on Tara’s body to determine her cause of death but, unless the examination comes back conclusive, toxicology tests will need to be undertaken to find out whether she had drugs in her bloodstream when she died.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan’s “favourite crisp” are beef flavour Hula Hoops.
The 34-year-old actor loves nothing more than to chomp down on the meat flavoured snack, and the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star – who plays the lead role of Christian Grey alongside Dakota Johnson in the erotic movie – has admitted although he trained hard to get his body into great shape for ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ he was adamant he would not give up the potato treats.
Speaking on BBC Radio One’s Breakfast Show on Friday (10.02.17), the dark haired hunk said: “I eat whatever I want but I’ll just train a little bit harder, is my thing. But my biggest vice – not actually my biggest vice – but my biggest vice in terms of food is crisps. Beef Hula Hoops.”
And the Northern Ireland-born star has admitted he still puts every ringed crisp on each finger and eats them one by one, a trick he has passed down to his daughters Dulcie, three, and 12-month-old Phoebe.
When asked about what method he uses to enjoy the feast, he said: “I still do that now [eat each Hula Hoop off every finger]. And now I’ve got kids so I pass that one. And they think it’s hilarious.”
And Jamie’s preferred treat has been confirmed on the broadcasting network’s Twitter account.
They wrote: “Just in case you were wondering… beef flavour Hula Hoops are Jamie Dornan’s favourite crisp. You’re welcome. (sic).”
Jamie has revealed he didn’t have time to get into shape for the first movie adaptation of E.L. James’ novels in 2015, but has worked out harder for the sequel, although he finds gruelling exercise regimes “boring”.
He explained: “I had to work a wee bit harder, but I don’t enjoy it, I find that kind of stuff quite boring to be honest with you.
“The thing was with this one, the first one I only got cast five weeks before filming so I didn’t really have time, and this time I had the benefit of time on my side to train a bit. But I’m not great about that. I’ll train but I won’t cut out the carbs, I can’t do that. ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Duncan James enjoyed the “best times of [his] life” with the late Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
The 38-year-old singer dated the socialite – who was sadly found dead at her London home on Wednesday (08.02.17) – between 2008 and 2009, and he will forever treasure the fond memories of holidays and luxurious dinners with her during their relationship and continued friendship.
Speaking about the brunette beauty in a heartfelt article for The Sun newspaper, the Blue band member wrote: “She had an energy about her that was simply amazing. I have so many fond memories from all the holidays we shared together, countless nights out in wonderful restaurants.
“I will treasure all of those moments as some of the best times of my life.”
And the ‘One Love’ hitmaker has credited Tara as being his “best friend” in the entertainment industry ever since the pair met on ‘CD:UK’ .
He gushed: “Tara has been my best friend since I got into the industry.

OHMYGOSSIP — Will.i.am felt uncomfortable stripping down for his Madame Tussauds waxwork.
The 41-year-old singer has admitted he “didn’t like” posing for the mock version of him, which will be showcased at the popular London attraction later this year, because he had to ditch his stylish ensemble to adorn just his pants and a pair of tights.
Speaking on the UK breakfast show ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Friday (10.02.17), the ‘Scream & Shout’ hitmaker said: “I wasn’t clothed doing this.
“I had to wear underwear and tights, which I didn’t like doing, because I’m usually well layered in clothes.”
Although the ‘The Voice UK’ judge – who is joined by Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale on the judging panel – didn’t enjoy the process of creating the art work, he is excited by the final piece as he gets to “really see” how small his ears are.
He explained: “I knew my ears are small, now I can really see in prop how small they are.”
Meanwhile, will.i.am has teased he is working on an “exciting” new project with Black Eyed Peas following the band’s six-year hiatus in 2011, which is expected to be unveiled in the summer.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman waited four months for Keith Urban to call her.
The 49-year-old actress was instantly smitten with the country singer when they met for the first time in January 2005 but she insists the feeling wasn’t mutual.
She said: “I had such a crush on him and he wasn’t interested in me. It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months.”
And Nicole has never asked Keith – who she went on to marry in June 2006 – why he took so long to get in touch.
She told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “There’s certain things — and I think anyone in a marriage would agree with this — you just leave there. We’re here now and it’s all good we don’t need to hash up all that stuff.”
This weekend will see the ‘Lion’ star in London for the BAFTA Awards while her 49-year-old spouse is in Los Angeles for the Grammys.
And after realising they wouldn’t be able to support one another, the couple’s eight-year-old daughter Sunday offered to be her dad’s date, a proposal which Nicole – who also has six-year-old Faith with Keith and Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, with ex-husband Tom Cruise – quickly shut down.
She explained: “Because she’s eight and they use inappropriate language.”
Nicole is also nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the upcoming Academy Awards and admitted she can barely remember her first Oscar win, for 2002 movie ‘The Hours’.
She said: “I sort of have snippets of memory of it. And I’ve actually never rewatched my speech, can you believe that?
“But it is sort of like a dream when you win something like that cause there’s so many people watching. I didn’t expect it because I hadn’t won certain other awards, so I was sort of blindsided by it, but at the same time just beyond thrilled.”
But this year she is “so badly” to scoop the honour as she never thanked her late father in her first acceptance speech.
She said: “I was so focused on thanking my mom because I wanted to thank her and she was the one sitting right there, and there’s something about that mother-daughter relationship.
“And my dad was the kind of that, he’s not alive anymore, but the most beautiful man where none of that was important to him. He was always sort of like, ‘Oh don’t worry about me, thank your mother!’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — AC/DC posed as airport security to prank Guns n’ Roses.
The ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ hitmakers are currently touring Australia and were surprised to be told to stay on their plane in Sydney while staff carried out extra checks – before the airline worker was revealed to be AC/DC’s guitarist Angus Young.
Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan tweeted: “Told we had to stay on plane last night in Sydney; ‘airport security’ wanted to do a check. We waited. It was Angus Young in an orange vest! (sic)”
But Angus also gave his friends a pleasant welcome to the country with a pretty bouquet of flowers.
Lebeis Fernando, a member of GNR’s management team, posted a picture of the gift, which was accompanied by a ‘Welcome to Sydney!’ card signed by the ‘Highway to Hell’ rocker and his wife Ella.
He added the caption: “I have missed these two, Angus and Ella. AC/DC Family.”
The two bands have grown closer after Axl Rose replaced Brian Johnson in AC/DC after the rocker was ordered to stop performing live in order to save his hearing.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Brian thanked AC/DC’s fans for raising funds in honour of former member Malcolm Young, who left the band as he has been stricken with Alzheimers disease.
Brian said: “I just want to say, I’m so proud of what you’re doing for the Alzheimer dementia research. As you know we have a wounded soldier, Malcolm and I think what you’re doing to raise the awareness of everyone about this dreadful disease is just absolutely fabulous.
“I know Malcolm would be so proud of you. I am and I want to thank you for doing this. We’ve tried to tell people about this awful disease, tried to get a cure for it. You guys are helping and I’m so proud of you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez and Drake’s romance “fizzled” out because of their busy schedules.
The ‘On The Floor’ singer has reportedly cooled down her romance with the ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker but the pair aren’t ruling out making another go of it “in the future”.
A source close to Jennifer told Entertainment Tonight: “She likes Drake. They’re just busy, so it has fizzled.
“She’s a mom with an insanely busy career. He’s touring in Europe. Who knows what will happen in the future when they’re more able to be in the same place.”
It comes after it was revealed the couple have decided to “take some time apart” but are still very much “in each others’ lives”.
A source said: “They have taken some time apart, not because they don’t want to be with each other, just because their schedules started getting insane.
“JLo and Drake are still talking, so people should know they are not in any means angry or that some incident happened. It mainly had to do with timing. They have just cooled things off a bit and it’s not as fast as it was in the beginning. They very well may go to dinner tomorrow or in a month. They are in each others’ lives, just doing their own thing now.”
It is thought the 47-year-old singer – who has eight-year-old twins, Max and Emme, from her marriage to ex Marc Anthony – was alluding to the couple’s split when she posted a cryptic Instagram quote over the weekend.
She wrote: “Timing is everything. If it’s meant to happen, it will, and for the right reasons.”
The pair are said to have become close whilst working on music together late last year.
A source said at the time: “They do work on music together [but are] clearly enjoying each other on another level too. Jen loves the attention and she seems very happy to be spending time with him. Drake is very charming. He treats Jen with lots of respect. She seems very smitten.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Cliff Richard was the late Cilla Black’s “chauffeur” for five years.
The 76-year-old music legend shared a close friendship with the ‘You’re My World’ hitmaker – who tragically past away in August 2015 aged 72 – and has admitted when she was alive he was constantly called on to ferry the red-headed musician around and take her to parties in Barbados in his truck for half a decade.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ on Friday (10.02.17), Cliff reminisced: “We were invited to all the same parties. I phoned once and said: ‘Are you going to this party?’ She said; ‘Yeah’ and I said; ‘Shall I pick you up at seven?’ because she didn’t drive here.
“After about five years I was her chauffeur! But the only car I had here at the time was a truck. She said: ‘Oh, chuck, how am I going to get in?!’.
“Then I opened the door for her and she said: ‘Chuck, how am I going to get out?’. Moments like that I will always remember.”
And the ‘Summer Holiday’ actor has praised the ‘Surprise, Surprise’ host as being “full of fun”, and a key part of the “Barbados scene”.
He continued: “She just made me laugh. She was full of fun.
“Everybody loved her here, she was part of the Barbados scene.”
Cliff has hinted Cilla’s fatality made him realise the future is unpredictable.
He said: “She died because she had an accident. You can’t plan what’s going to happen to you in that respect.”
And Cliff – who was previously embroiled in sex abuse allegations and has since been cleared of all accusations made – has admitted losing his close pal at the same time the claims were being made was a very difficult time for him, and led him to rely on his faith more than ever.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow feels sexy “all the time”.
The ‘Mortdecai’ star has learned to love her body more as she has got older and credits the “ups and downs” in her life for making her feel beautiful.
Asked when she feels sexiest, she said: “I think that when you know yourself well and you’ve lived your life with lots of ups and downs and you get to be in your 40s, I think that you feel pretty good all the time.”
The 44-year-old actress – who has Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, with her ex-husband Chris Martin – is very “mindful” of dressing “appropriately” despite being in the spotlight.
She added to Entertainment Tonight: “I try to be appropriate. Even when I was in my 20s, I was never extremely proactive in the way that I dressed and it’s something that I’m mindful [of now].
“I love when women feel confident and dress in a sexy way, but at the same time, you want to find a balance [between] what’s within the woman and her brain. So it’s a good combination of sexiness and intelligence that’s sort of the goal.”
Meanwhile, Gwyneth previously confessed she worries about “f***ing up” as a mother.
She shared: “The other night, I was in the bath and I texted my best mom friend, ‘Am I f***ing this up?’ And she was like, ‘No! Breathe. We all feel this way, take a step back. Your kids are great.’ It’s tough, but it’s the most important thing I do by far.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna have no immediate plans to get married.
The on-again, off-again couple, who have three-month-old daughter Dream together, are still engaged but aren’t in any rush to wed and are still living apart.
A source close to the couple told PEOPLE.com: “They are together, but not living together. It’s a bizarre situation. They are still engaged and Chyna wears her ring. There haven’t been any wedding talks though.”
The ‘Rob & Chyna’ stars briefly split in December, but rekindled their romance after the 30-year-old sock designer apologised to the 28-year-old model on Instagram.
The couple are still working hard on their rebuilding their relationship and Rob’s mother Kris Henner recently admitted it’s a “work in progress”.
Speaking about the pair – who got engaged after four months of dating – she explained: “You know, I think that, too, is a work in progress and they have good and bad days. It’s a young relationship and they haven’t known each other for that long.”
Rob has been keeping a low profile recently but is said to be working hard on his fitness with Chyna, who recently celebrated dropping an impressive 34 pounds in just two months.
