OHMYGOSSIP — Robin Thicke’s six-year-old son “begged” for police to be called because he didn’t want to spend time with his dad.
The ‘Blurred Lines’ hitmaker was due to visit six-year-old son Julian last month, but the youngster’s nanny called 911 while they sat in his mother Paula Patton’s car at a Malibu park with a court-appointed monitor asking for them to intervene because the 39-year-old singer was breaching the terms of a restraining order by being too close and refusing to leave.
In audio from the emergency services call obtained by TMZ, the woman said: “We need you guys to just intervene because we have a court order document that the child doesn’t want to go with his father, he doesn’t have to go, and now it’s enforced.
“We need you to come and enforce the order. We have a restraining order, the person is within distance of the restraining order, he’s in violation of it currently.
“This child is literally begging me and everyone else to call 911. That’s how much he does not want to go.”
And the call goes on to explain how Julian is frequently in tears and “praying to angels” in a bid to “avoid” visits to his dad every time they are scheduled.
The nanny continued: “He’s six years old, and literally every time he has these visits, the night before, the day before, he’s crying, he’s praying to angels, he’s trying to avoid it like the plague. It needs to end.”
A source previously denied Robin – who is being investigated by authorities over claims he used excessive physical punishment on Julian – had breached the restraining order and accused the ‘Baggage Claim’ actress of being over an hour late for the scheduled visitation.
An insider said: “Here’s what happens. Paula finally shows up and won’t let Julian out of the car, she doesn’t want to hand Julian over. The moderator is going between them and Robin is sitting in his car, doing as he’s directed. And for some reason she called her housekeeper, and the housekeeper who was at the house, not at the park, mind you, calls the police and says Robin is violating his restraining order. And Robin never got out of his car. Paula then takes Julian and leaves.
“When the police showed up, she was gone. They went up to Robin and they said, ‘Someone called saying you broke the restraining order’ and he said, ‘No, this is my designated spot to pick up my son. We have joint custody and we do this every week, I stay in the car.’ He had a full conversation with the police and they didn’t do anything. The saddest part about this is that was his only time to see Julian.”
Robin has previously accused his ex-wife – who he split from in 2015 – of trying to drive a wedge between him and his son.
However, last week it was reported the pair are trying to settle their dispute and are on the verge of working out a custody agreement.

OHMYGOSSIP — David Arquette has become a father for the third time.
The ‘Scream’ actor and his wife Christina welcomed son Augustus Alexis – whose middle name is in honour of his late sister, Alexis Arquette, who passed away last September – into the world on Wednesday (08.03.17).
According to E! News, the newborn will be known to his family as Gus.
David has shared an adorable picture of his new son on social media.
He captioned the close-up photo – in which Gus has one eye open and one closed – on Instagram: “Augustus Alexis Arquette March 8, 2017 @christinaarquette – His first thoughts were “Whatchu Lookin’ At?” (sic)”
David – who also has 12-year-old daughter Coco with ex-wife Courteney Cox and two-year-old son Charlie with Christina – announced the couple’s baby news in October.
The 45-year-old actor uploaded a sweet video of Charlie holding a picture of Christina’s scan and giving it little kisses.
He could then be seen looking at his mother and asking: “A baby?”
The brunette beauty said: “Yeah! It’s a baby in my belly! Say, ‘Hi, brother!’ Charlie gave the photo a big kiss and said: “Hi baby! Hi brother!”
David captioned the clip on Instagram: “So incredibly blessed and honored that my wife @christinaarquette is pregnant with a baby boy! Thank you Christina and humbled gratitude to G-D for this tremendous gift! Charlie and Coco are so excited and I am over the moon!!! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary-Kate Olsen says working hard comes “naturally” to her and her sister Ashley.
The 30-year-old actress turned fashion designer admits her and her twin sister don’t need “much time to think and ponder” but says the pace has changed since she married Olivier Sarkozy and became a stepmother to his two children.
Ashley said: “I’ve always been a worker. It has taken me a lot to figure out how to take a vacation.”
Whilst Mary-Kate added: “I think we’re lucky [working hard] comes quite naturally for us. We don’t need so much time to sit and think and ponder. But then I have a husband, two step-kids and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner.
“I ride horses on the weekends. You find the thing that helps you relax and if you don’t have it, you have to look for it. Or you get burned out and then you’re not productive.”
Both Mary-Kate and Ashley have decided to steer clear of social media and feel they have “stayed quite sheltered” as a result.
Ashley added to Net-a-Porter’s The Edit magazine: “We don’t dive into that world [of social media]; we don’t have Instagram or Facebook.
“So we’ve never been connected to our customers or our fans in that way. We’ve stayed quite sheltered.”
Meanwhile, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s younger sister Elizabeth Olsen previously insisted she isn’t “remotely as cool” as her sisters.
She said: “They have impeccable taste and what they make is mind-blowing. I’m not remotely as cool as either of them and I often feel like I don’t have as many options clothing-wise as they are very petite.”
And the ‘Captain America: Civil War’ star doesn’t spend too much time on social media either as she thinks there is an increasing amount of pressure on young women because of the rise of social media.
She added: “With social media, there’s this need to be constantly seen and approved by others.
“Everyone is their own publicist and it’s such a self-aware world. For young girls there’s a pressure to create an image of yourself, which might not be reflective of what you’re dealing with internally. I find that scary.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson is “flattered” by rumours she is dating Julian Assange.
The pair has been romantically linked after the 49-year-old actress and activist was seen visiting the Ecuadorian Embassy in London on multiple occasions and Pamela feels a “genuine closeness” to Julian, who has been holed up in the embassy for five years after claiming diplomatic asylum in 2012.
She said: “I met Julian through Vivienne Westwood. We mixed up our dates – I ended up at the embassy on the wrong day but was able to meet with Julian privately. I asked him how he thought I could be more effective as an activist. We came up with tenure to support relentless activism – giving activists tenure and cover basic needs so that they continue their great work while being able to provide for themselves and their families wherever they may be in the world.
“Since then I feel a genuine closeness to Julian. I have had more stimulating conversation with this man than all my ex-husbands and lovers combined. Our intentions were not to become romantic, but to join forces. The rumours are flattering. I think I might have what it takes to be an effective First Lady. If I had to choose a World Leader to stand beside and support whole heartedly it would be Julian Assange.”
And now Pamela has accused Australia of “failing to exercise diplomatic protection” over Julian, who runs the whistleblowing organisation WikiLeaks.
In a post on her official website, she added: “Australian’s must not forget. They have a fellow citizen trapped in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London who has not been able to go outside, feel the sunshine, hug his children or see his mother for four and a half years. He has been detained for 6 years …
“The Julian Assange Case is incredibly complex. Australia has failed to exercise diplomatic protection over Julian, an Australian Citizen, refusing him the most basic assistance.
Australia is now seeking a seat on the UN Human Rights Council at a time when Julian, an Australian citizen, has been found to be arbitrarily detained by the UK and Sweden. An unlawful status under international law – and Australia is doing nothing about it. Australia’s failure led to Ecuador’s decision to grant Asylum to Julian.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton were forced to cut a concert short after being bottled.
The duo – who made up two-thirds of girl group Atomic Kitten – had been performing a concert at the Engine Shed in Lincoln on Wednesday (08.03.17), but were made to vacate the stage earlier than expected after “one p***ed up fool” reportedly started to throw bottles at the girls.
Natasha, 34, took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and said she was “gutted” the performance was cut short.
She wrote on the site: “Gutted that tonight’s gig ended early, 2 all of u who came to see a good show, thank u 4 yr support but when it’s not safe we have 2 leave x (sic)”
Whilst 36-year-old Kerry – who has children Molly, 15, and Lilly-Sue, 14, with her ex-husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 10, and Maxwell, eight, with her former spouse Mark Croft, and two-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge, with her third husband George Kay – also took to Twitter to slam the man responsible.
She posted: “Well that was fun!! What a shame when some young boy going through puberty thinks it’s manly to throw bottles at girls!! #waiting4balls2drop (sic)”
One fan seemed less than impressed with their decision to leave the stage “because a few plastic bottles flew their way”, to which Natasha – who has sons Josh, 14, with Fran Cosgrave, Harry, 12, with Gavin Hatcher, and Alfie, six, from her marriage to Riad Erraji, as well as daughter Ella, two, with Ritchie Neville – responded to say she felt the behaviour was unacceptable.
Quoting the tweet, the ‘Whole Again’ hitmaker wrote: “Wow, what a guy! … So you think that’s acceptable behaviour? I don’t think you’d like to watch your girlfriend pelted with c**p? (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Bella’s daughter will be called Birdy.
The ‘Total Divas’ star is expecting her first child with her husband Bryan Danielson and the couple has already decided on the name for their little one when she arrives.
She said: “We’re having a little girl, and her name will be Birdy Joe Danielson. Joe, her middle name, is after my grandfather – his name was Joseph, and he meant the world to me.
“Birdy is because my husband and his whole family are B’s. And he married me, a B too, so his one request was that our kids have B names. I didn’t realise how hard it was to find girl B names, but we both came across Birdy and knew that was it!”
Brie will be joined by the ‘Total Bellas’ film crew in the delivery room but whilst she is happy for them to share the birth of Birdy, they will not be around for the first couple of months after the baby’s arrival.
She added: “The ‘Total Bellas’ film crew is going to follow me into the delivery room. I’m going to allow them to document me giving birth and having this little miracle. But they won’t be with me and Bryan for a few weeks after the baby’s born.
“It’s such a special time that I don’t want the cameras interfering. I’m not even interested in being on social media. I just want my husband and me to be a couple figuring out that first month privately. We plan to enjoy every moment without a producer saying, ‘Hey, can we move everything over here?’ I just want to sit on the couch and breastfeed my baby.”
Bella and Bryan are planning to move out of the house featured on the show – where there are currently residing – so they can have more space for their little family.
She told the April issue of Fit Pregnancy and Baby magazine: “I need my space. Right now we’re in the house that’s featured on the shows, but I don’t think we’re all going to be able to fit in here, so Bryan and I are going to be in a house nearby. My sister’s going to stick around, and I also have my mom and younger brother in town. Having their help will be great.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Meloni received a “tight hug” from Goldie Hawn after she learned his mother had passed.
The 55-year-old actor was working on the set of comedy movie ‘Snatched’ with the blonde beauty when he revealed to her that his mother had recently passed away, and recalled the “beautiful” moment in which the 71-year-old actress gave him a comforting embrace.
He said: “We were shooting in Hawaii and I did a few of my scenes for a couple weeks there and then they said ‘We’re not going to need you for a while, so you go home.’ So I went back east and unfortunately my mother got ill and so she passed.
“I actually had to leave her bedside, flew and by the time I landed, she had passed. So no one knew except for the producers and the director and they were all very sweet and kind.
“Goldie Hawn and I start talking. I say, ‘I just came from D.C. That’s where I was.’ And she was like, ‘D.C.? What were you doing in D.C.?’ She goes, ‘I’m from D.C.’ And she says, ‘What were you doing in D.C.’ And I didn’t want to be coy about it – and I also didn’t want to make a big deal – but I said, ‘Well, to be honest, my mother passed.’ Oh, she grabs me … And she hugs me tight. She goes, ‘I know, I know,’ I was like, ‘Oh my God, what a beautiful…’ I needed that moment, right?”
And it wasn’t just Goldie who helped the former ‘Law and Order: SVU’ actor find comfort after his mother’s passing, as actress Amy Schumer also reached out, taking a more light-hearted approach as she pretended to be too busy talking on the phone.
Christopher explained during an appearance on ‘The Talk’ on Wednesday (08.03.17): “And then Amy, she goes ‘Wait, what did you just say?’ I said, ‘Well, my mother passed.’ She goes, ‘Oh, that’s terrible. Hold on one second.’ I knew she was joking. … How courageous that she – she invited, she needed to diffuse all of that obvious emotion that was filling up the boat. And later – this was even cuter – later she goes, ‘You know I was kidding, right?’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Larson still finds her Oscar win “surreal”.
The ‘Kong: Skull Island’ star took home the coveted Best Actress in a Leading Role Award for her part in ‘Room’ at the ceremony in 2016 and was thrilled when her close pal Emma Stone won the same award this year for ‘La La Land’.
She said: “It’s so strange because I think it’s such a surreal moment. It was surreal for me last year, it was surreal for me this year, as a way of this kind of cycle closing and this new one starting for my friend that I love so much.”
The moment where they hugged backstage after Emma collected her award was captured by photographers and Brie is glad she has a permanent reminder of their interaction as she feels it sets an example to other women and shows the importance of supporting each other.
She added to Entertainment Tonight: “I’m so proud of her. I’m grateful that there’s a photo to prove that because what better than a day like International Women’s Day to say women love each other. We support each other through everything.”
Meanwhile, Brie previously confessed to celebrating her Oscars win with a good night’s sleep.
She said: “I did not dance all night. I didn’t hang out with Lorde and Taylor Swift. I went to sleep. I didn’t do that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa White says her career with The Saturdays has been of no help to her solo career – because her songs are more sexual.
The 27-year-old singer recently unveiled her latest single ‘Good Good’, which is about “being honest with your sexuality” and will feature on her hotly anticipated second solo EP ‘Chapter Two’ which will drop this spring.
Vanessa is now channeling an R&B sound for her music away from the other girls – Frankie Bridge, Una Healy, Rochelle Humes and Mollie King – which means her previous pop experience has been useless to her.
She was asked by PAPER magazine – for which she has been shot by in-demand British photographer-and-director Charlotte Rutherford for a Marie Antoinette-inspired shoot – what kind of foundation The Saturdays had given her as a solo artist.
To which Vanessa replied: “I guess none, because the kind of things that I’m doing is so different I can’t really take anything from that. I’m grateful for it, you do learn a lot of things but I’m happy to start again.”
One of the big changes from the chart-friendly tracks she was laying down with The Saturdays to her tunes is the erotically charged lyrical content.
Vanessa explained: “I came from a girl band which was very much pop and very different to this, but I’ve always been such an R&B fan. So I guess for me, it wasn’t even necessarily the music, I wanted to say what I couldn’t say before? I was like screw this I am such a sexual person anyway.”
The ‘Lipstick Kisses’ singer says her sexual nature comes from her being the zodiac sign Scorpio.
She said: “I think it’s the best sign but how annoying is it when you tell people you’re a Scorpio and they go, ‘Ooh you’ve got a sting in your tail don’t you?’ It’s like yes I’ve got a sting in my tail if you are rude, if you are evil to me. OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Joan Collins was given diet pills as a young actress trying to make it in Hollywood.
The legendary 83-year-old English actress – who has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – has revealed she was put on a course of drugs by big wig film executives and ordered to shed the pounds if she wanted to make it in Tinseltown back in the 1950s.
Speaking about the drastic measures actresses went through to make it back then, she spilled on ‘This Morning’: “When I first went there I was about nine stone (126lbs) and the studio said, ‘You’re too fat, you have to lose weight.’ But it was hard to do, I was 20, and I loved my food, so they gave me these little green pills. I took them every morning. Goodness, I didn’t want to eat – I didn’t sleep much either! A friend came over and said, ‘What are you taking, you never eat when we go out. He said, ‘You can’t take these, they’re Dexedrine, that’s what hooked Judi Garland!’ ”
Over 60 years later, Joan insists nothing has really changed and actresses are under just as much pressure now to stay slim to land roles as they were back then.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she said: “In my apartment in LA there is a gym and I go there sometimes with a young actress, she’s about 25. She’s so thin, she must weigh 98lbs. I asked, ‘Why are you so thin? She says, ‘I have to be! Not only to fit into the dresses they put you in on the red carpet but also because that’s what the producers want.’ ”
Joan appeared on the daytime chat show to talk about her new movie ‘The Time Of Their Lives’ with her 76-year-old co-star Pauline Collins, who also admitted she had taken Dexadrine and was surprised by the side-effects.
The ‘Shirley Temple’ actress said: “They were great. I have taken them to slim. And I wrote a play in a night on Dextradine. Quite good!”

OHMYGOSSIP — James Blunt claims he and Ed Sheeran made up the story about Princess Beatrice cutting Ed’s face with a sword.
The pair hit the headlines in November when it was reported that 26-year-old singer Ed had been struck in the face with a sharp weapon by the royal as she was pretending to ‘knight’ fellow musician James at a party at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Now, the ‘You’re Beautiful’ hitmaker has claimed they fabricated the story in order to cover up the fact that Ed had simply cut himself whilst drunk.
The 43-year-old musician said: “Ed was drunk, messing around, and he cut himself. We made a fancy story up; people fell for it. It was very embarrassing.”
And asked how much of the story involving the ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker and 28-year-old Beatrice was made up, James told ShortList magazine: “All of it!”
Meanwhile, the ‘Shape of You’ singer previously said he wasn’t aware of the extent of his injury – which has left him with a scar on his face – until he noticed his shirt was “completely covered in blood.”
He said previously: “I got hit in the face and I was like, all right, OK, and then started carrying on and then I looked down at my shirt and it was just completely covered in blood.
“And everyone was kind of gaping open-mouthed at me. What have I got a nosebleed or something? What’s happened?”
Ed has also refused to comment on the subject in the past, after claiming he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to talk about it.
He said during an appearance on BBC Radio 1 in January: “Yeah… there’s… I don’t know if I can talk about that, you know.”
Asked by host Scott Mills if he’d already talked about it, Ed then replied: “Not fully, no. I have mentioned the cut.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Watson’s HeForShe campaign “captivated” her ‘Beauty and the Beast’ co-star Dan Stevens.
The 34-year-old actor stars as the titular Beast alongside Emma’s Belle, and has said he was deeply moved by a video he watched prior to their shoot in which the 26-year-old star gave her impassioned speech at the United Nations headquarters in 2014, which urged men to be active speakers in the fight for gender equality.
Dan said about the speech: “It was really addressing a lot of things I had always seen in fairytales, that I had always seen in literature and really believe in: that feminism is about redressing a balance, and in order to do that you need to engage boys and men.
“You need to engage masculine energy, and grapple with what that balance is, what that entails, what are the elements of the patriarchy that need walking down and which are just elements of masculinity that need to be balanced with femininity.”
And Dan says the ideas put forward in the ‘Harry Potter’ star’s speech are “very much in play” in the live-action remake of the 1991 animated Disney classic.
He added: “All of these ideas are very much at play in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and they’re also very much in play in Emma Watson’s mind. It was getting to sit with her and discuss how this fairytale resonates timelessly but also resonates now. Not shoehorning anything but just realising how much of what we both believe about the gender spectrum and those masculine and feminine energies are at play in this fairytale.”
The star also notes that the Beast had to have something more to him than being “monstrous” because the reinvention of Belle is “looking for” something special.
He told The Daily Beast: “He can’t just be a monstrous, growling, grumpy dude.
“There has to be ‘something there’ in order for her to fall in love with him. What kind of guy would Emma Watson’s Belle fall in love with? If it’s not the strapping, handsome Gaston, what is that she’s looking for? I was really, really excited to wade through the water with a brain like Emma Watson’s.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Garrix was refused entry to a Scottish club because he was wearing tracksuit bottoms.
The 20-year-old DJ was turned away from a venue in Dumfries in Scotland whilst shooting the music video for ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ with Dua Lipa because he wearing the sportswear.
Martin admits he’d already ignored the advice of his friend Calvin Harris – who hails from Dumfries – who told him not to hit the nightspots of his hometown.
Speaking about the embarrassing moment to MTV Online, the Dutch record producer said: “We shot it in Scotland, in Dumfries, and Calvin Harris is from there so I asked him, ‘Where can I go out in Dumfries?’ and he was like, ‘Don’t go out there!’ Oh and I didn’t get into the first club actually because I was wearing jogging pants.”
However, Martin’s refused entry did not stop him from persevering and trying to get into another hot spot where he could enjoy an evening parting.
He continued: “But we found a good spot and we partied so it was good. We went to the place next door. I had a really really fun weekend.”
And the dark-haired hunk was scared whilst shooting the accompanying footage for his latest track because the drones, which carried the filming equipment, were flying directly above his head and he has hinted he thought it would drop on him and cause an accident.
He continued: “This was crazy we shot with two drones, one drone was filming me. I was freezing, I think we shot it like 4 am.
“I loved the drone shots, because it was not one of the small drones you buy at the toy store it was massive drones. One drove could lift 50 kilos. A big lighting rig was hanging under one drone and they had this massive camera hanging on another. And it was scary because one of the drones was hanging over my heard the whole time. The safety briefing [team] were very happy having two very heavy drones with rotating plates above my head.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart says she came out as gay on ‘Saturday Night Live’ because it “worked for the joke” she was telling in her monologue.
The 26-year-old actress – who was previously romantically linked to musician St Vincent – told viewers she was “so gay” when she hosted the television programme last month after previously having spent years being vague about her sexuality.
At the time, Kristen was making a joke about President Donald Trump who tweeted her numerous times after it was revealed she cheated on her ex-boyfriend and ‘Twilight’ co-star Robert Pattinson, as she said the former ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ star would likely hate her more now because “[she’s] so gay dude”.
Speaking about her decision to use the programme to come out, Kristen said: “Honestly, I thought it was just funny. Not to diminish the point because I think that saying things sort of bluntly is absolutely important, but at the same time, the only reason I haven’t ever done that is because there is an ambiguity to that and I wanted things to be really real for me. But honestly, it just worked for the joke.”
And the ‘Personal Shopper’ actress admits she didn’t purposely use the platform to do something that was going to be “so important”, but is “utterly proud” that people have thanked her for speaking publicly about her sexuality.
Speaking to E! News, Kristen said: “It wasn’t like this, ‘Let’s do this thing that’s going to be so important’, I just thought it was a nice slight. And also yeah, 100 per cent, I’m so utterly proud that I’ve had so many people be like ‘Thank you’, and I’m like ‘No, thank you’. It’s kind of mutual. It’s full circle.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson has been accused of punching a girl in the face during an altercation at LAX airport.
Ana Becerra alleges the former One Direction star punched her, breaking her glasses after his girlfriend Eleanor Calder came over to her and her wife and tried to take her phone off of her.
Recalling what happened, she claims: “We were just waiting for our ride and people were taking pictures. And I saw them running. The girl got all crazy and she was running. I grabbed my phone. I was sitting down with my wire [attached to the phone] when she rushed and grabbed me and she was fighting with me for my phone. I wasn’t going to let anyone get my phone.
“She [Eleanor] said, ‘Are you filming me b***h?’ and then I saw the guy from One Direction and he just punched me in my face. And that’s when everybody started getting [involved], security, police. When he punched me, I was actually wearing glasses – so when he punched me, he broke my glasses and I think that’s why all this part [her head] hurts.”
Ana also insists she will be pressing charges because she “doesn’t think it’s right for a guy to punch a woman”.
Asked why she wants to press charges, she said: “Because I don’t think it’s right for a guy to punch a woman and for the fact that I never did anything to him.
“The fans are saying he’s going to defend his girlfriend but my wife, she never slapped, she never punched, she never did anything. She tried to separate us … So why would a guy come up to me and punch me? If he had come and separate us and said, ‘Get away’, that would be different.”
And Ana also claims she has been unable to sleep because of all the stress she says she has been under after Louis’ fans leapt to his defence.
She told TMZ: “I went to the hospital. I got some scans; I got a concussion. I get really bad headaches. I couldn’t sleep for two days; first because of the long aeroplane ride and then I couldn’t because it was so stressful with all the harassment from the fans.”
After an altercation which involved a member of the paparazzi, Louis was taken into custody following a citizen’s arrest and was booked for simple battery, before being released shortly after on $20,000 bail. He is due to appear in court in Los Angeles on March 29.
His lawyer Martin Singer said previously: “The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis. It’s not the first time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity.
“While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defence.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Geri Horner named her son after George Michael after her mother suggested it would be a fitting tribute to her late friend.
The 44-year-old singer and her husband Christian Horner welcomed their first child together into the world on January 21 and decided to give him the moniker Montague George Hector Horner, with his middle title a tribute to the ‘Careless Whisper’ singer who passed away on Christmas Day 2016.
Geri has now revealed that it was her mum Ana Maria who came up with the idea and the Spice Girls star is very happy she bestowed the name upon her baby.
Discussing Monty’s middle name in an interview on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (09.03.17), Geri said: “That was my mother’s idea actually because she was very close to George and he loved his mother and he loved his family, and she said, ‘Why don’t you call him George?’ And I thought, ‘Is that appropriate?’ But then I thought, ‘Why not?’ ”
Geri – who also already has a 10-year-old daughter Bluebell from a previous relationship – and George were close pals for many years and she admits the shock death of her “generous” friend at the age of just 53 left her devastated, but the birth of her son helped her come to terms with the “circle of life”.
She said: “I absolutely loved him, when I left the Spice Girls he just took me under his wing, he was just such a lovely person, his death was just so shocking. Then I had a baby and it was like the circle of life, you just don’t expect it to happen, George was such a good man.”
Recalling how their friendship worked, she added: “He would tell me off, you now real friends tell you like it is, he was a real human being and would just tell you like it is. He was very mentoring, I would play him my music and he would tell me when it was rubbish, tell me when I was good. What I really loved about him was that he was quite normal. He was so generous, he bought me a car, he helped me with my daughter, I lived with him, I was just so gutted [when he died] it’s not until someone is gone that you suddenly go, ‘Oh my god!’ We all loved him and it was very sad, it is sad when someone we all love dies.”
Geri appeared on the ‘This Morning’ sofa looking incredible in multi-coloured skirt and black top and after hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby complimented her on her fabulous figure the ‘Bag It Up’ hitmaker credited breastfeeding her newborn boy for helping her lose her baby weight.
She said: “All I can say is that it’s breastfeeding, that helps shrink you back.”
