OHMYGOSSIP — David Duchovny was left reeling by “so many” rejections early in his career.
The 63-year-old, famed for his role as FBI alien-hunter Fox Mulder in ‘The X-Files’ TV show and film spin-offs, made the admission on his ‘Fail Better’ podcast while talking about how he was desperately chasing parts in auditions.
He said: “I had plenty of those (TV) pilots that I went up for when I was first out in LA and I thought each one was going to be the break.
“I just needed to be able to pay my rent, too. That was an important thing because I just wanted a job.
“When I moved to LA, I didn’t get so many shows. I can’t tell you how many shows I didn’t get.”
One of his biggest blows was failing to land a role on ‘Full House’ after he went up for all three male characters – Danny Tanner (played by Bob Saget), Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) and Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier.)
He added: “At first, they had me for, I think, the dad. And then, they had me for the Stamos character.
“And then, they had me for the other guy. I was thinking, ‘I’ve got to get one of these, and it’s going to change my life’.”
But he admitted he was terrible at high-energy auditions for sitcoms.
David went on: “I was really bad at that kind of stuff. I did not know how to do that sitcom stuff.
“I don’t know what they were thinking, that they thought I was going to exist in that world.
“I mean, I guess I could have learned, but I wasn’t ready, I wasn’t ready for that kind of energetic performance that they need.”
It wasn’t until 1993 – aged 33 – that David landed his lead role in ‘The X-Files’, propelling him to global fame, with his work on the show earning him an Emmy award.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage’s son Weston has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother during a mental health crisis.
It was confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department the 33-year-old was detailed on Wednesday (10.07.24) for assault with a deadly weapon – weeks after his actress mum Christina Fulton, 57, was spotted with bruising on her face.
The actor was released on a $15,000 bail around 10am on Wednesday, with The US Sun reporting his famous father is believed to be the one who bailed him out.
A source also told the outlet: “The family knew this was going to happen but needless to say, it is a very big shock.”
A row broke out between Weston and his mother on 28 April in Los Angeles and an ambulance was reportedly called to the home to check on Christina, but she apparently declined to be taken to the hospital.
Investigators say Weston was gone by the time police arrived at the scene, and police will decide if the case will be considered felony battery.
Christina has refuted claims the two got into an argument and has asked for privacy in the matter.
She said in a statement released about the matter: “Weston and I had no argument prior to the incident.
“On Sunday April 28, I was reached out to by several of Weston’s best friends for assistance because they were experiencing Weston in a mental-health crisis.
“Upon my arrival, I was met by my son who clearly was in a state of a mental health breakdown, which in turn became a horrific experience.
“I have always supported helping my son with mental-health struggles. I am doing all I can to get him the continued support he needs.”
In 2011, Weston faced domestic violence charges after he had a dispute with his ex-wife Nikki Williams, according to ABC News.
He was hospitalised on a psychiatric hold in 2011 after a violent incident in LA.
Christina and Nicolas started dating in 1988 and had Weston in 1990, but the couple never married and split within a year of their son being born.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin was accused of “reckless” on-set behaviour during the prosecution’s opening statement in his ‘Rust’ shooting trial.
The ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ actor, 66, faced his first day in front of a jury on Wednesday (10.07.24) in New Mexico, and stands accused of involuntary manslaughter after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed on the set of neo-Western movie ‘Rust’ in New Mexico in 2021.
Special prosecutor Erlinda Johnson told jurors about how Alec’s alleged behaviour on set contributed to the accidental death of Halyna: “When someone plays make-believe with a real gun in a real-life workplace, and while playing make-believe with that gun violates the cardinal rules of firearm safety, people’s lives are endangered and someone could be killed.
“Ladies and gentlemen, that’s what this case is about. It’s simple and straightforward.
“The evidence will show that someone who played make-believe with a real gun and violated the cardinal rules of firearm safety is the defendant, Alexander Baldwin.”
Alec was holding a prop gun while rehearsing a scene on the set of ‘Rust’ when it discharged, killing mother-of-one Halyna and injuring the film’s 51-year-old director Joel Souza.
Alec insists he did not pull the trigger or know why the gun contained live ammunition, and has pleaded not guilty to one charge of involuntary manslaughter.
He faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted.
Prosecutor Ms Johnson added in her opening statement to jurors: “You will also learn that this (set) had some talented people and one of those was the director of photography, a vibrant, 42-year-old rising star named Halyna Hutchins.
“You will also learn that the director of this film was Joel Souza, another talented individual who cares deeply for his projects. The evidence will show, ladies and gentlemen, that like in many workplaces, there are people who act in a reckless manner and place other individuals in danger and act without due regard to the safety of others.
“That, you will hear, was the defendant, Alexander Baldwin, the lead actor on this film.”
She claimed Alec “mishandled” the gun and declined to do safety checks.
Alec took notes for much of the time during her statement and kept his head down while sitting between his attorneys.
His attorney Alex Spiro stressed in his opening statement Alec operated as actors normally do on a movie set involving weapons.
He said: “This is a homicide trial… (the prosecutors) don’t have any evidence of actual homicide.”
Mr Spiro added: “You will learn the truth. Not a day goes by when we don’t wish Alec had saved her life.
“But never, the witnesses will tell you, in history is (this) something that an actor has done – intercepted a live bullet from a prop gun. No actor in history. “No one could have imagined or expected an actor to do that. So just remember that truth – justice is truth.
“This was an unspeakable tragedy. Alec Baldwin committed no crime.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Daddario suffered a “very, very painful loss” before she announced her pregnancy.
The 38-year-old ‘White Lotus’ star, who has been married to film producer Andrew Form, 55, for two years, broke the news they are expecting via Vogue on Wednesday (10.07.24) by posing for a photo for the magazine that showed her sitting cross legged on a kitchen island as she sipped tea with a mug over her mouth – and her white striped shirt open to display her baby bump as she wore white underwear and red socks.
In an interview to go with the shot she revealed her happy news came after a “long” and traumatic journey to motherhood.
Alexandra said: “I’m pregnant and it’s all successful and everything’s healthy.
“I had been pregnant. Then I had a loss. It’s long and complicated, so I don’t want to be too specific.
“Those kinds of losses and trauma are very hard to explain unless you’ve been through them.
“I really relate to all the women who have been through those kinds of things in a way that I didn’t understand fully before.
“It’s very, very painful.”
The Emmy-nominated ‘Baywatch’ star was six months along at the time of the interview, published on Wednesday (10.07.24), and said she had “a lot of complicated feelings” when she found out that she had conceived again.
She added: “It was actually quite hard to process.”
Alexandra initially tried to hide her pregnancy on the set of ‘Mayfair Witches’ but it was a struggle as she was “throwing up and having make-out scenes … right after”.
When she told her castmates she was pregnant, she joked “everyone was very understanding” about “making out with a nauseous, vomiting girl”.
Alexandra is already stepmother to her husband Form’s two sons, Rowan and Julian, who he had with his 44-year-old actress ex-wife Jordana Brewster.
The former couple married in 2007 and had the boys via surrogate before they separated in 2020.
Andrew moved on with Alexandra the following year – proposing in August 2021, with the pair marrying in New Orleans the following summer.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘ALF’ actor Benji Gregory has died aged 46.
Best known for playing Brian Tanner on the alien puppet sitcom – which was a huge hit when it ran from 1986 to 1990 – was found dead in his car alongside his service dog Hans at a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona, on 13 June, but his passing only emerged publicly on Wednesday (10.07.24) night.
Benji’s sister Rebecca told TMZ the actor had suffered from depression, bipolar disorder and was afflicted by an insomnia disorder that often kept him awake for days.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Benji’s death, but has not yet determined a cause.
TMZ reported: “Those close to Benji believe he went to the bank to deposit residual checks on the 12th, fell asleep in his car and tragically died from vehicular heatstroke due to Arizona’s intense summer heat.
“Benji was with his service dog Hans, and the animal also died.”
His death certificate has confirmed the death of his passing, and the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office said Benji’s cause of death is still pending.
Rebecca added to TMZ Benji’s family is “grieving a great loss” and she “appreciates everyone’s thoughts and kind words”.
She wants donations in Benji’s to be made to either The Actors Equity Foundation or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Benji starred in 101 episodes of NBC’s ‘ALF’ – the plot of which told of the middle-class Tanner family who take in alien ALF after he crash-lands in their garage.
The series shows the Tanners struggling to hide the extra terrestrial from nosy neighbours and government officials.

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey has laughed off a severe reaction to a bee sting that left his face horrifically swollen.
The ‘True Detective’ actor, 54, shared the impact of the insect attack in a graphic photo posted to his Instagram page that showed him grinning despite his right eye being so ballooned and inflamed it had completely closed over.
He joked in a caption alongside the snap: “Bee swell.”
It’s unclear how or where he was stung.
But the Oscar-winner has been recently working on finishing his latest movie project, crime thriller ‘The Rivals of Amziah King’.
Plots of the film have been kept secret but pictures have emerged from set of Matthew in character carrying boxes of honey.
Bee stings can spark inflammation and complications including optic neuritis and glaucoma when they sting someone near the eye.
Matthew was seen shooting his upcoming movie last year in Alabama, but it has now finished shooting and moved to post-production.
The movie also stars Kurt Russell, Cole Sprouse and Owen Teague.
Matthew isn’t a stranger to on-set injuries, and cut his face so badly in 2008 he needed stitches while training for the film ‘The Grackle’ – which was never finished.
Daredevil Matthew has also petted a live tiger for his 2016 thriller ‘Gold’, and told Vulture about the encounter: “We shot that in New Mexico as the last scene of the movie, and I don’t think that’s coincidental.
“If something happened during that scene, they wouldn’t need me on the screen anymore.”

The monarch, 75, joined a flood of famous faces who hailed the Three Lions heroes after their 2–1 win on Wednesday (10.07.24) night against the Netherlands in Dortmund, Germany – and warned them to try and avoid another penalties drama after their shoot-out showdown in the second round of the Euros against Slovakia and another against Switzerland in the quarter-final.
Referring to Queen Camilla, 76, the monarch – who is undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer – said in a light-hearted statement: “My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A. European Championship – and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday’s (14.07.24) match.
“If I may encourage you to secure victory before the need for any last minute wonder-goals or another penalties drama, I am sure the stresses on the nation’s collective heart rate and blood pressure would be greatly alleviated!

Charles’ football fanatic son Prince William, 42, also congratulated the team, writing on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ X account: “What a beauty, Ollie! Congratulations England! EURO2024 Finalists. W.”
He was referring to Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, 28, scoring a 90th-minute goal to send England to the finals.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, 61, watched some of the game while attending a Nato summit in Washington DC, and confirmed he will attend Sunday’s final in Berlin.
Adele, 36, and Ed Sheeran, 33, were seen cheering England to victory from the stands in Dortmund.
At the O2 in London, rockers The Killers paused their concert so their fans could watch England beat the Netherlands, pausing the show as it was flashed up on the huge screen inside the arena.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin seemed in agony while footage of the aftermath of the ‘Rust’ shooting was played during the opening day of his involuntary manslaughter trial.
The 66-year-old actor faced his first day in front of a jury on Wednesday (10.07.24) in New Mexico, and stands accused of involuntary manslaughter after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed on the set of neo-Western movie ‘Rust’ in New Mexico in 2021.
Looking distressed and tired, at one point he put his hand on his forehead as jurors were shown body cam footage captured by Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputy Nicholas LeFleur – who was called as the first witness in the case.
The clip showed Halyna lying on her back following the shooting, with tubes coming out of her body as medical teams tend to her.
Deputy LeFleur is heard saying: “One female shot in the chest, male shot in the stomach.”
‘Rust’ director Joel Souza, 51, who was also injured in the fatal shooting, can be heard shouting in pain and thrashing his legs around.
One person is heard saying about the filmmaker: “He’s good. he’s got a (inaudible) shoulder blade (wound.)”
A woman helping Hutchins to breathe says: “Halyna deep breath, deep breath there you go. Deep breath Halyna. Jesus.”
Film crew staff and emergency workers could be seen in the footage hoisting mother-of-one Halyna up on a stretcher.
Father-of-eight Alec was also comforted by his wife Hilaria Baldwin, 40, in court.
‘Rust’ armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 26, has already faced trial over the shooting and was found guilty on the same charges in the same court.
In her opening statement, prosecutor Erlinda Johnson said Alec had “violated the cardinal rules of firearm safety” and was “reckless” on set.
She added he also had requested the biggest gun available after he arrived on the set in in October 2021.
Alec’s attorney Alex Spiro stressed in his opening statement the star operated as actors normally do on a movie set involving weapons and said his client had committed no crime.

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Klinghoffer has been sued for fatally striking a pedestrian while driving in Los Angeles.
The former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, who is currently on tour with Pearl Jam, allegedly ran over and killed 47-year-old Israel Sanchez as the man walked through a marked crosswalk on his way to the grocery store on March 18.
As reported by People magazine, the 44-year-old musician has been sued by Sanchez’s daughter Ashley in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday (10.07.24).
The lawsuit has accused Klinghoffer of “likely driving while distracted” and allegedly “using a device mere seconds before” striking Sanchez in the bank while turning left.
It’s also alleged that he “made no braking or slowing motion until after” fatally striking Sanchez, who was “thrown and/or dragged across the asphalt”.
He suffered blunt force trauma to the head, and died around two and a half hours after being taken to hospital from “excruciating” injuries.
Klinghoffer’s attorney Andrew Brettler told TMZ: “It was a tragic accident.
“After Josh struck this pedestrian in the intersection, he immediately pulled over, stopped the car, called 911 and waited until police and the ambulance arrived.
“Obviously, he’s cooperating with the police throughout the traffic investigation. This was purely a tragic accident.”
The lawsuit says Klinghoffer has not been arrested over the incident, while it’s claimed he hasn’t contacted the Sanchez family or shown “remorse for his behaviour”.
In a statement to People, Ashley described her late father as someone “always full of love and joy”.
She said: “My dad was known for being a great chef, the most talented of his family, the greatest grandpa always full of love and joy.
“His smile was so infectious. His life was taken by a careless act of a person who didn’t bother to look where he was driving.”
As well as funeral, burial and medical expenses, Ashley – who is seeking a jury trial – wants other damages including attorney fees and compensation for the loss of her father’s “love, companionship, comfort, care, assistance, protection, affection, society and moral support”.
Klinghoffer was with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a decade, after joining in 2009 when original guitarist Josh Frusciante left, and he would depart in 2019 with Frusciante rejoined his bandmates

OHMYGOSSIP — Kris Jenner has undergone a hysterectomy.
The 68-year-old Kardashians matriarch broke down in tears last week while telling her family she needed to have her ovaries removed after doctors discovered a cyst and a “little tumour”.
But she was then advised it would be “the best thing” for her health to have her ovaries and uterus removed to “not give anything a chance to grow anywhere”.
Speaking in the latest episode of ‘The Kardashians’, Kris told friends Kathy Hilton and Faye Resnick: “I’m gonna have a hysterectomy.
“It started out as just getting some ovaries removed, and then today I got a phone call.
“They found something, we’re here to fix it.
“I’m going to remove something that gave me six of the best parts of my whole life.”
Kris – who has children Kourtney Kardashian, 45, Kim Kardashian, 43, Khloé Kardashian, 40, Rob Kardashian, 37, Kendall Jenner, 28, and Kylie Jenner, 26 – admitted she was feeling “very emotional” about the procedure.
Speaking to the camera, she later said: “I’m very emotional about it, because when you’re young, you start talking about wanting a family.
“It was all we talked about literally for 40, 50 years. So, here we are now talking about it again and it’s the other side of the process.”
In a teaser for the upcoming July 18th episode of ‘The Kardashians’, Kris told the cameras: “I’m done with my surgery, and I feel great!”
Last week, Kris was seen breaking down in tears on the reality TV show when she gathered Kim, Khloe and Kendall around and emotionally informed the trio about a tumour being found on her ovary.
She told them: “I wanted to tell you guys something because I hadn’t told you yet but … you know I went to the doctor and I had my scan … they found … and this just makes me really emotional, but … they found a cyst and like a little tumour on my ovary.
“And so I went to the doctor and Dr. A said I’ve got to have my ovaries taken out. And I’m just really emotional about it because you know they came in handy with you guys.
“If I can get through the hip replacement, I can get through this. I don’t even … I’m not nervous to be put to sleep, I’m not nervous with Dr. A. She’s the best doctor in the world, but then you go to do it and it’s so real.
“It’s also a thing about getting older and it’s like a sign of like we’re done with you know part of your life, it’s a whole chapter that’s just closed.
“It’s the dumbest thing, but I love you guys and I just wanted you to know.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian says slicing the tip of her finger off was “more painful than childbirth”.
The 43-year-old reality star – who is yet to reveal how the injury happened – has revealed the gruesome wound after removing her bandage to let a doctor take a look at her digit.
In a sneak peek for next week’s episode of ‘The Kardashians’, Kim shows the doctor her finger, and he replies: “Oh that looks great!”
Surprising by his reaction, she replies: “You think that looks great?”
And as they look at an X-ray of the injury, she adds: “The tip broke off. It was more painful than childbirth.”
Kim gave birth to her and Kanye West’s kids North, 11, and Saint, eight, while she is also mother than Chicago, six, and Pslam, five, via surrogate.
Back in February, the SKIMS founder was seen with large bandages over her middle and ring fingers on her left hand as she attended the Super Bowl.
The following month, she was no longer sported the the bandages.
Kim recently suggested she will only “look good” for the next 10 years, and insisted time is limited before her Botox limits what she can do as an actress after roles in ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘The Fifth Wheel’.
Speaking on an episode of ‘The Kardashians’ last month, she said: “I wasn’t planning on this career, and I was like, ‘OK, I’m not gonna get ahead of myself here. I’m really nervous about it, because I have to f******* deliver…
“Every year I want to do something that makes me so uncomfortable that I really have to challenge myself.
“I feel like you need less Botox for more emotion, and I do not have that. How am I gonna be scared? How am I gonna cry?
“I can do a movie a year. I’ve got about 10 years where I still look good, so that’s all I’ve got in me, and then I’ll take some time off.”

The 58-year-old DJ took to Instagram to reveal his wife Mika gave birth to their daughter, Yuki Isla Price, on Wednesday (10.07.24) in Phuket, Thailand, where they live.
Goldie – who has 12-year-old daughter Sakuko with Mika, as well as four other children – posted an adorable picture of the couple and their newborn, and he wrote in the caption: “Welcome To The World Baby Girl

In 2016, the star was awarded an MBE by the then-Prince Charles for his contribution to the British music industry.
He was honoured during an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace, under his real name Clifford Price.
Goldie said at the time: “Art and music is so important for young people – the arts need to be supported and I think there are so many Clifford Prices out there like me.
“Music and art well and truly saved my life really – the light switched on when I discovered art.

The star initially become known as a graffiti artist before releasing songs under pseudonym Rufige Kru, and then albums under his own name.

The 42-year-old former actress – who has Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, with Britain’s Prince Harry, 39 – unveiled her new company back in March.
A trademark application revealed the brand will sell a wide range of home goods, including edible treats like jellies, jams and spreads and tableware staples such as cutlery, table linens and drinkware.
While it’s early days, the ‘Suits’ alum has already attracted more than 100,000 to her website.
A source told Us Weekly: “The rollout for American Riviera Orchard is already off to a strong start. The website has over 100,000 who have signed up to hear about the first products launched.
“Meghan is very pleased with the early interest it has gained.”
The insider added: “[She] is so excited to see how people enjoy her products and use them in their everyday lives.”
Several of Meghan’s celebrity friends were sent some of her strawberry jam to try.
However, it hasn’t been all smooth-sailing, as the Goop-style website was hijacked at one point.
It emerged that the domain name of her business was snapped up in Britain by an apparent fan of her sister-in-law Catherine, Princess of Wales.
While the US American Riviera link takes users to Meghan’s website, the UK version – ‘americanriveriaorchard.uk’ – was bought by someone who linked it to a food bank.
Web users are asked for donations to a British-based charity, while a message on the site said: “Thoughts with Catherine.”
The home page of the site read at the time: “Forgiveness. Permission. Please donate to the Trussell Trust”, and clicking on it took browsers to a Just Giving fundraiser for the Trussell Trust charity.
A message also stated: “Not Meghan. Hope Meghan wouldn’t mind. Thoughts with Catherine. X.”
The notes appeared to reference the fact Catherine, 42, is undergoing preventative chemotherapy after cancer was detected in her body following major abdominal surgery she underwent in January.
It is unclear who bought the UK domain and the Trussell Trust charity confirmed it did not set up the webpage and is not aware of the bogus site.
But the linked page has so far raised £25, 768 of its £1,000 donations target – with some users posting derogatory remarks and support messages for Catherine.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kris Jenner has hinted she might get married when she turns 70 next year.
The Kardashian/Jenner matriarch, 68, has previously insisted she is in no rush to walk down the aisle again with longtime partner Corey Gamble, 43, having been married twice before to the late Robert Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner, 74.
When sharing the news that she was undergoing a hysterectomy after an ovarian cancer scare with her close friends Kathy Hilton and Faye Resnick, she suggested she could wed again.
When she shared the health update on Thursday’s (11.07.24) ‘The Kardashians’, Kathy said: “I thought you were gonna tell me you’re getting married!”
Kris laughed: “I mean, not right this very second!”
Kathy quipped: “I thought you were gonna say six in the morning [tomorrow]. I’m like, ‘That’s a little early for me to be…'”
Kris, who has been with Corey since 2014, then said the pair would be her bridesmaids if the day ever comes.
She said: “Dressed and ready to go as a bridesmaid.
“I mean, you guys can totally be bridesmaids when I get married. So maybe when I’m 70!”

On a recent episode of the Hulu show, Kris admitted she questioned the 25-year age gap between herself and Corey.
She was initially confused as to why he would want to date a mature woman, but she concluded that you cannot “explain why people fall in love”.
Speaking on a confessional, she said: “I used to say to Corey all the time when I first started dating him, like why do you want to date somebody who is older than you?
“I didn’t get the age gap, and then he taught me that age is just a number. It’s a f****** big number, but it’s a number!”
She continued: “Listen, I can’t explain someone’s chemistry or why people fall in love, but it’s been an amazing almost 10 years, and we have a great time.”
Asked if she or daughters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian have any plans to marry, she told People magazine: “All of us are having fun, and we have no marriage plans — yet.”
Kris’ comments came after she previously explained that having done “the big wedding”, she didn’t feel the need to walk down the aisle another time.
Speaking on the ‘Divorce Sucks with Laura Wasser’ podcast, she said: “You know, you never say never, but I often say it’s just not what I think I need to do again based on my past.
“I’m in a really great relationship right now, and I’m happy and I don’t want to mess that up.
“I don’t have the need to put on a long, white dress and walk down an aisle. I’ve done that.
“I’ve had the big wedding; I’ve had the babies and the kids… I think that I just feel really grateful and blessed for my past experiences and I’m looking forward to my future and I just don’t think that I want to go there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William “truly” believes homelessness can be “ended”.
The Prince of Wales will mark the first year of his Homewards campaign to eradicate the problem on Thursday (11.07.24) with a report on its progress in building community links to make it a “rare, brief and unrepeated” experience.
According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, William will say at an event in London: “Homelessness is a complex societal issue and one that touches the lives of far too many people in our society. However, I truly believe that it can be ended.”
William will acknowledge homelessness blights the lives of “far too many people” and declare he wants to “demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness”.
The 42-year-old royal recently invited members of the public who have had “lived experience” of homelessness to Windsor to hear more about what needs to be done to help.
The Homewards project is working in six UK locations as a joint effort between the public, private and charity sectors to identify the causes of homelessness and make headway in eradicating it in five years.
Matt Downie, CEO of homeless charity Crisis, which is involved in the initiative, said: “The question isn’t what are our big problems and how can we wallow in them. The question is who can help?”
“We are facing some really, really tough times. Homelessness is going up but actually, the evidence to end homelessness has never been better.”
Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, who experienced homelessness as a teenager and is now chief fire officer for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, is one of the advocates working with Homewards and praised William – who visited homeless shelters from a young age with late mother Diana, Princess of Wales – for his empathy.
She said: “He understands trauma, he does understand trauma.
“He can see echoes of it in himself I think, from that experience of trauma and how it affects you and how it affects the way you see things.”

The former ‘Saturday Night Live’ star was first romantically linked with the 26-year-old actress last September, but things are said to have “fizzled out” between the pair and they have gone their separate ways.
A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight: “Pete and Madelyn’s relationship has been on and off for months and an ever-changing thing. Things have fizzled out and they are no longer seeing one another.”
Pete and the ‘Outer Banks’ star had largely kept their relationship low-key, though Madelyn was in the audience when the comic returned to host the ‘Saturday Night Live’ premiere in October.
A source said at the time: “Things between Madelyn and Pete seem to be getting more serious. Madelyn sat in the audience next to Pete’s family while he hosted SNL last night.
“She looked comfortable with them and seemed happy to be there and proud of him.”
Pete’s family were believed to have given their seal of approval to the relationship, which began just a month after he split with his ‘Bodies, Bodies, Bodies’ co-star Chase Sui Wonders, 27, after less than a year of dating the actress.
A source told US Weekly: “Pete’s mom and sister think Madelyn is lovely. They’re very happy for Pete.”
“Things are going really well with Madelyn and Pete, but they’re trying their best to keep a low-key romance.
“They have both dated people in the public eye before and are trying to maintain more privacy this time around.”
Pete’s change in his personal circumstances came shortly after he announced he won’t be going ahead with a second season of his show ‘Bupkis’, despite it having been renewed.

“After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media, I wanted a chance to tell my story my way.

Pete starred in ‘Bupkis’ as a fictionalised version of himself as he attempted to “work through unique family dynamics and the complexities of fame to form meaningful relationships”, and he counted Edie Falco and Joe Pesci among his cast mates.
