Alex George joining Good Morning Britain
OHMYGOSSIP — Alex George is joining ‘Good Morning Britain’ next week.
The 27-year-old A&E doctor, who recently shot to fame on ‘Love Island’, has signed up to be the guest health editor on the programme in place of Dr Hilary Jones, and he can’t wait to get started on the show.
Announcing the news on ‘GMB’ earlier today (24.08.18), Alex said: “Next week Dr. Hilary is away, the fantastic Dr. Hilary, so I’m very excited to say that I’m going to be stepping into his very big shoes for the week, and doing my very best.
“I’m really excited!”
Alex is hoping he can use his “passion” for being a doctor to help people, particularly the “younger generation”, in his new role.
He added: “I’m really look forward to it. I’m very passionate about my job, I love medicine, I love health and wellbeing, I’m really excited to have that opportunity to talk about topics.
“I’m passionate about the job. Of course, I’m going to be going back to the NHS, but in the meantime, I really hope that I can use the platform that I have to talk about things that are topical and effect people in everyday life.
“Particularly the younger generation – things relating to sexual health, mental health, body image … all kind of topics that I’d really like to discuss and talk to young people about.”
Since leaving the ‘Love Island’ villa, Alex has always maintained he will return to A&E at some point.
He recently said: “My interest to be honest is to go back to A&E and I would really love to be involved in medical education to the public.
“There were points where I was talking in the villa like about C-sections and everyone was really interested and I think people of my age want to know more about the medical world.
“I would love to do TV doctor work because I am passionate about my job and would love to make that accessible to all audiences.”
