OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas’ “favourite thing” about ‘Emmerdale’ is leaving the soap.
The 29-year-old actor bowed out of the long-running show as Adam Barton in explosive scenes this week but, although he was part of the programme for eight years, he has admitted he’s glad he’s left because he didn’t enough air time.
A fan messaged him on Twitter asking: “Gutted you have left Emmerdale! Going to miss you! And miss your scenes with @DannyBMiller what has been your favourite thing about Emmerdale?”
To which Adam simply replied: “Leaving”.
Another questioned: “Can I just say how gutted I am that even in your last week, Emmerdale aren’t giving you the air time you deserve. You are an extremely talented actor and I wish you all the best for the future.”
The hunk said: “I’m used to it [crying with laughter emojis] but thanks anyway…. just to be part of that show is good enough for me.”
It seems the former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ star has had a change of heart as just days ago he was begging bosses to give him his job back.
He said: “Dear @emmerdale I know it’s only been a few weeks but am ready to come bk now even if I am a ghost … it’s been done before (sic).”
Adam – whose brother Ryan Thomas was formerly a star on rival soap ‘Coronation Street’ – joined the Dales in 2009, and has had several dramatic storylines since.
Most notably, his character was seen suffering a breakdown and committing arson after John Barton, the man he believed to be his father, died.
His character was also involved in a plot which had him mistakenly believe he had fathered Luca, the son of Vanessa Woodfield (played by Michelle Hardwick), after Rakesh Kotecha (Pasha Bocarie) – who is the father of Luca’s biological father Kirin (Adam Fielding) – doctored the DNA test results.
He announced his decision to leave the show earlier this year.
