OHMYGOSSIP — Dr. Alex George is to offer one of his Welsh holiday homes to Ukrainian refugees.
The former ‘Love Island’ star has purchased four cottages in Pembrokeshire, and in light of the war in Ukraine, he’s decided to offer one of them to a Ukrainian family.
Alongside a picture of him posing with the keys in the lock to one of the properties he’s renovating, Alex wrote on Instagram: “Today’s the day! I’m so excited to announce that I’ve bought 4 holiday cottages in beautiful Pembrokeshire, in Wales.
“I initially bought these for my passion for property and renovation, as well as wanting to create relaxing spaces for families to holiday and enjoy the Welsh countryside in!”
The Welsh physician – who is sharing his renovation projects via the Instagram page @dralexrenovates – added: “With all of the current devastation in Ukraine, I have decided I would love one of the cottages to be home to a Ukrainian family for as long as they need.
“My plan is to start the renovations and get the properties into a good state to house a family as soon as possible. If you’d like to follow me along on my renovation journey, go and follow @dralexrenovates.”
Meanwhile, the TV star recently shared how important it is to “invest” time in himself.
Alex – who was appointed the UK’s Youth Mental Health Ambassador by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in 2021 – believes it’s vital to take the time for self-care in order to help with his mental health and insisted the “little things” that make up a daily routine – such as finding the time to go outside or to have a bath in the evening – are essential.
He said: “I focus on trying to do the little things. This morning I didn’t get a chance to [go outside]. I noticed it doesn’t get my day in the right rhythm and I didn’t feel as good. I don’t feel as clear or as calm.
“If I didn’t invest in myself I would feel so much worse.”
