Raymond Lam and Karena Ng to register marriage in Xiamen?

OHMYGOSSIP — Hong Kong tabloids reported that Raymond Lam (34) and Karena Ng are getting married in Xiamen after Karena was seen flaunting her engagement ring at a reception recently.

After his high-profile romance announcement with Karena, Raymond has no qualms about displaying his love for her publicly. A source said that Raymond has plans to tie the knot with her after his contract with TVB ends in July. Instead of renewing his contract with TVB, Raymond will instead sign a per series contract with TV.

What is puzzling is that the couple will not be registering for their marriage in Hong Kong, but will be returning to Raymond’s hometown in Xiamen to sign the marriage papers.

Raymond’s father reportedly insists that the couple to register their marriage in China to prevent Karena from getting equal share of their family’s assets in the event that they get divorce one day. The China marriage law states that any property purchased before a marriage will not be divided equally and only the legal owner will get to keep the asset.

To seek his father’s approval for the marriage, Raymond has no choice but to agree to his father’s condition.

In a recent interview, Raymond also revealed that he sees Karena as his ideal marriage partner.

“It’s time I have to think about it [marriage]. I really hope that my future kids will be able to play soccer and exercise with me. As an elder son, I have to shoulder this responsibility.”
