OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama found it “difficult to adjust” to lockdown.
The 26-year-old star admits that she had a lot of “pent-up energy” staying at home amid the coronavirus crisis and would run around the house in between Zoom chats to keep active.
Asked how her schedule has changed during the pandemic, Maya said: “It’s changed drastically and at first it was difficult to adjust.
“I found myself having a lot of pent-up energy so I would just run around the house in between Zoom calls and slightly kid myself into thinking I would do something super-productive. I’m so used to running around London, not having a chance to catch my breath, going in between jobs.”
The ‘Save Our Summer’ presenter admits there have been positive sides to lockdown as it has allowed her to press on with ventures such as launching her skincare brand MIJ Masks.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, she said: “This is probably the most time I’ve had at home since I started working when I was 16 and it’s definitely been a shock to the system.
“The pandemic has definitely changed work for us all, but I have in some way learnt to appreciate the change and spend more time focusing on what I want and putting some of my dreams into play. I have focused a lot of my energy into launching MIJ Masks and taking the time to turn my dreams into reality.”
Maya also confessed that she has been ordering “silly presents” online and sending them to a friend to keep her spirits up.
She said: “I’ve been spending way more time than I should shopping online. I’ve been getting silly presents and pranks sent to my friend’s house and it has been a laugh. Just another way to keep spirits high.”
