OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani’s sons will “have a large part” in her upcoming wedding.
The 51-year-old singer is planning her nuptials to Blake Shelton – who she revealed she was engaged to in October – and her and ex-husband Gavin Rossdale’s three kids, Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and six-year-old Apollo, are “so excited” for the couple and are keen to be involved in the big day in some way.
A source told People magazine: “Gwen’s sons are just really solid, sweet kids, and they’re so excited for Blake and Gwen to get married. They can’t wait to stand by their sides.”
The ‘Just a Girl’ hitmaker is delighted with the bond Blake, 44, has with her sons.
The insider said: “From the beginning, Gwen made it clear to Blake that her boys were number one n her life, and Blake always respected this/ He never wanted to overstep and made sure everyone was comfortable with his role in her sons’ lives.
“Gwen always gushed about how amazing Blake is with the boys. She feels so lucky that he helps her raise them. His love and guidance is something that Gwen is beyond grateful for.”
The couple are expected to marry in a chapel on the country star’s ranch in Oklahoma in an intimate ceremony.
The source said: “It will be smaller with family and only close friends. They aren’t rushing it now but do want to marry soon.”
Blake and Gwen first met when they worked together on ‘The Voice’ in 2014 and the following year, their friendship turned romantic as they leaned on one another for support following the breakdown of their respective marriages to Miranda Lambert and Gavin.
The insider reflected: “At first they were bonding over their splits and finding light in one another, but they quickly realised they have so much more in common than just going through heartbreak.
“They’re both incredibly close to their families and their lives are rooted deeply in their faith. He just fit so seamlessly into her life, and vice versa.”
Blake previously admitted he was keen for Gwen’s sons to be part of his proposal to their mother.
He recently said: “The only thing I had planned was that I knew I wanted to do it in Oklahoma while all her kids were there [and our siblings].
“I didn’t want to take her away or do something private away from the kids. I felt like it was important for the kids to be a part of that moment, so that’s what I did.”
He also sought their permission to pop the question, as well as Gwen’s dad Dennis.
