OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs fears that one more knee injury could end his music career.
The 36-year-old pop star is currently waiting to find out if he needs a knee replacement and revealed that it could be “curtains” for his chance of performing on stage once more if he gets injured again.
Olly, who underwent knee surgery in June 2019 before being rushed to hospital amid fears that it had become infected, said: “It’s the arthritis and reconstruction I had in my knee. It’s never going to be perfect, I’ve just got to be careful.
“If I did my knee again it would be curtains. I won’t be able to dance and perform on stage.
“My bread and butter is my music, performing and touring. Being able to dance and perform on stage is what I do, it’s what I get paid to do, it’s what I love to do.
“If that was taken away from me because I went out and played football and twisted my knee again…”
The ‘Dear Darlin’ hitmaker added that he is “very conscious” about his knee to make sure he is able to continue entertaining his fans.
Olly told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I might need a knee replacement so I’m very conscious to make sure my knee is fit and healthy. It’s always going to be in the back of my mind that if I end up doing my knee again, I might not be able to come back and do my singing.”
‘The Voice UK’ coach confessed that he has been “very annoying to live with” amid the coronavirus crisis as he has been “pestering” girlfriend Amelia Tank to help make TikTok videos in recent months.
Murs said: “I’ve learned I’m very annoying to live with this year, especially feeling semi-retired over lockdown. I was definitely bored and pestering Amelia to do TikTok videos with me when she has a full-time job.”
