OHMYGOSSIP — Cush Jumbo had a “miserable” experience after her pregnancy was written into ‘The Good Fight’.
The 35-year-old actress – who is leaving her role as attorney Luca Quinn ahead of the drama series’ fifth season – found it tough having to work right up until she gave birth to son Maximillian, now two, and then only having a two-week break before she had to start getting back into shape to return to filming.
She said: “I worked all the way through my pregnancy in heels. I gave birth five days after I ‘had’ him on the show. Then I had to get to the gym two and a half weeks after he was born to get back into my costumes. It was miserable.”
After giving birth, Cush admitted she put a lot of pressure on herself to be the “perfect” parent but she just ended up feeling stressed and “doing nothing well”.
She said in an interview: “At the beginning, I tried to do everything which meant I was doing nothing well and crying constantly.
“I wanted to be the perfect mum. I wanted to cook all of his meals. You know, you say you’re doing all these things for your child but really you’re doing them because you think everyone else is going to judge you.”
And the actress and her husband Sean have no plans to have more children as Cush wants to be able to work and still have the time to be a “good” parent and wife.
She said: “I know he’ll be my only child because I know that this is what I can cope with. I’m always going to love my job and I need to continue to do things that make me happy so that I can be a good mother and a good partner.”
