OHMYGOSSIP — Phoebe Bridgers is “sick” of cancelling her plans because of the pandemic.
The Grammy-nominated musician is eager for 2020 to end and for 2021 to begin, as she’s hoping next year will see her return to a more normal way of life.
Phoebe, 26 – who has been in her home city of Los Angeles amid the pandemic – explained: “I’m sick of cancelled plans at this point. I think we rescheduled the tour four times before we just stopped.
“I just hope to record and do random stuff until it’s over. In fact, I have a couple of songs [already] written.”
Phoebe released her latest album, ‘Punisher’, earlier this year, and she’s even been nominated for the Best New Artist gong at the Grammy Awards.
However, she feels Megan Thee Stallion is more deserving of the accolade.
Phoebe told the BBC: “Not that I want to jinx myself here but Megan Thee Stallion is the best new artist, by far.”
Phoebe’s album title – ‘Punisher’ – refers to the jokey word she uses to describe overly-enthusiastic fans.
And despite being the victim of various so-called punishers during her time in the spotlight, she’s also been guilty of it.
The music star recalled an incident with James Blake when she was a teenager, admitting she greeted him outside a venue by telling him “the most boring things”.
She said: “I punished James Blake once when I was a teenager.
“I waited by the backstage door at the Troubadour and I had the most boring things to say. I was like, ‘Are you gonna play Coachella?’ And he’s like, ‘Maybe. I don’t know’.
“And then I said, ‘What are you up to now?’, like I was his friend, and not some random girl who was stopping him from going to bed.”
