OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish endorsed the idea that “Instagram isn’t real” after being criticised by body shamers.
The 18-year-old pop star has taken to TikTok to address the issue of body shaming, after she was mocked for wearing a casual outfit earlier this week.
The award-winning musician – who was seen sporting a beige tank top and a pair of shorts – posted a video from blogger Chizi Duru about body shaming.
The video said: “Can we normalise normal bodies?
“Ya’ll got to start normalising real bodies, OK? Not everyone has a wagon behind them, OK? Guts are normal. They’re normal. Boobs sag, especially after breastfeeding. Instagram isn’t real.”
Billie is well-known for her eye-catching fashion sense, which often sees her wearing oversized outfits from major luxury brands such as Burberry and Louis Vuitton.
And the chart-topping star previously admitted she’s adopted her distinctive style in order to retain a degree of mystery about herself.
She explained in a Calvin Klein commercial: “I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that’s why I wear big baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?
“Nobody can be like, ‘Oh, she’s slim-thick, she’s not slim-thick, she got a flat a**, she got a fat a**.’ Nobody can say any of that because they don’t know.'”
Billie has also admitted she likes to dress in a way that takes her out of her “comfort zone”.
She explained: “I just like dressing out of my comfort zone. I want to dress in a way that if I was in a room full of people wearing regular clothes, I would be like, ‘Oh, I bet everyone’s looking at me.’ I want to feel that way. That’s my casual.”
