OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama is “too paranoid” to date.
The 26-year-old TV presenter split from rapper Stormzy last year, and Maya – who recently took part in a blind date that matches couples based on what they like to eat – has admitted she is usually too frightened to date people if she doesn’t know them very well.
Asked if she dates often, Maya told her blind date: “No I don’t really date, ever.
“Most of the time I’m too paranoid to meet up with somebody I don’t know, so I’ll get my friends to do a massive CRB check on them and find out their mums last name and stuff.”
Maya also discussed the traits she wants to find in her next boyfriend.
‘The Duchess’ star revealed she is looking for someone who can make her laugh and won’t get put off by her boisterous chat.
She said: “I like someone to make me laugh and I like someone who doesn’t get put off by my disgusting chat.
“I want good conversation flowing and minimum awkward moments. I want to be so entertained by you that I don’t really end up eating all my food because [I’m laughing so much].”
Maya also recalled one of her most embarrassing dating experiences.
In a video for the campaign – which has been commissioned by Peperami Chicken Bites – she shared: “I haven’t had a horrible date, but I’ve had a situation where I’ve laughed and a bit of snot [has flown] onto the pasta – snotty pasta!
“And you can’t really do anything because the snot is there and you’re kinda like … oops!”
