Mary Berry fan Prince William
OHMYGOSSIP — Britain’s Prince William told TV baker Mary Berry he and his wife Duchess Catherine are big fans of her cakes when they met at Bereavement UK yesterday (19.03.13).
Britain’s Prince William is a “big fan” of Mary Berry.
The prince and his wife Duchess Catherine met the TV baker during a visit to the headquarters of charity Child Bereavement UK yesterday (19.03.13) and told the ‘Great British Bake Off’ star his wife loves her work – but not as much as he enjoys eating her culinary creations.
He joked: “My wife is a big fan of yours – and my tummy is a big fan!
“You’ve been very busy racing around the country feeding the population.”
His wife added: “I’m a big fan of your cook books and your cakes.”
William, 30, revealed his favourite cake to be chocolate brownies, but admitted his own baking skills are limited.
He said: “I think I need some lessons.”
During the visit, William – who, along with Mary, is patron of the organisation – and Catherine met with a group of eight parents who have lost their own children and the prince spoke of the loss of his own mother, Princess Diana, who passed away after a car crash in August 1997.
One unnamed man said: “He just mentioned the fact he had lost his own mother. William said ‘You do realise I’ve been in similar circumstances’.”
Another group member, a woman named as Roz, added: “He was very sympathetic. He said ‘I think you’re very brave to come into a situation like this. I do wish you didn’t have to be here under these circumstances.’ – he could feel our grief and sadness.”
