OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl has been offered the chance to host her own radio show.
The 37-year-old pop star has been approached by the radio firm Global to host her own show, and she is currently weighing up the offer.
A source said: “Cheryl has been inundated with several offers to do a radio show and Global are very eager.
“It would be an exciting new step for her in her career and give her the freedom to do other projects alongside.
“Global are super keen to sign her and know she would add real star quality. She has a huge fanbase who would loyally follow her to the station.”
Cheryl – who first found fame as part of Girls Aloud – might decide to make a career switch, although there’s no guarantee that she’ll accept the offer from Global, which operates stations such as Capital FM, Heart, Smooth and Gold.
The insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Cheryl has been approached by several networks, including Global. She is in demand, but if something happens it might not be with them.”
Cheryl joined Girls Aloud after auditioning for ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ in 2002.
But the brunette beauty previously admitted that she initially doubted herself.
She shared: “Honest to God, do you know what happened? Before Davina [McCall] called my name, I had a premonition. Right before she said, ‘Cheryl,’ I almost heard her say it in my head. I never thought I was going to get into the band until that split second.”
Cheryl – who starred in the group alongside Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – admitted she wasn’t prepared for fame at the time.
She explained: “I can’t speak for everyone else but I think we all are on cloud nine. That night, after I got in the group, that’s the only time I’d say I’ve experienced euphoria.
“You can’t really prepare anybody for that level of instant fame, I don’t think, but at least we had each other to lean on, to talk to. We were all experiencing the same things.”
