OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Hyland felt her “worst” after heartbreak and dialysis in 2017.
The ‘Modern Family’ star – who has been open about her battle with kidney dysplasia, and underwent a second transplant that year after her first one failed – addressed the tough time in her life as part of a social media challenge.
Sarah participated in the “post a pic of” challenge on her Instagram Story this week, as she responded to a fan asking her to share a photo of “a moment where you felt your worst but had to fake being okay for a pic”.
The 30-year-old actress shared a snap alongside Vanessa Hudgens as the MOSCHINO Spring-Summer 2018 Menswear and Women’s Resort event, which was held in June 2017.
She wrote: “Was on dialysis and had my heart broken just days before this picture.
“Thank god I had @vanessahudgens by my side at the event.”
Although Sarah didn’t reveal what was behind her heartbreak, the photo was taken two months before her split from Dominic Sherwood went public.
Now, the star is engaged to reality TV star Wells Adams, and the couple celebrated their would-be wedding day on August 8 after having to postpone their ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, that didn’t stop the couple marking the special occasion and they celebrated by taking pictures and drinking wine at what looked like a vineyard.
Alongside a series of snaps of the pair, in which Sarah could be seen donning a veil under a hat, a white crop top and trousers, while her husband-to-be wore a fresh white shirt, she wrote on Instagram: “A couple, a pandemic, & a postponed wedding: A series.
“We were supposed to get married today. Instead… we took pictures and drank wine. I love you to Pluto & back @wellsadams. (sic)”
Wells also shared one of the professional snaps on his profile and quipped: “We were supposed to get married today. We didn’t. But I still got to grab a butt. So, ya know, still pretttty cool. (sic)”
