OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez is set to headline Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
The ‘Waiting For Tonight’ hitmaker will perform her greatest hits during the annual extravaganza from New York’s famous Times Square to ring in the new year.
Joining the 51-year-old superstar is ‘Pose star’ Billy Porter and Cyndi Lauper, who will perform a duet from their Broadway musical ‘Kinky Boots’, and country star Jimmie Allen.
No audience members will be allowed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Longtime host Ryan will be joined by ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star Lucy Hale and Billy in host proceedings, while Ciara will once again be on anchoring duties in Los Angeles.
Jessie James Decker returns for a second year as the New Year’s Eve Powerball correspondent, which involves revealing the winner of the ‘Powerball First Millionaire of the Year’ after the ball drops at the stroke of midnight (01.01.21).
For Ryan, it marks his 16th year hosting New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, since he took over from the late Dick Clark himself – who died in 2012 – in 2004.
In a statement, the 45-year-old presenter said: “2020 has been a trying year for the world and I’m thrilled to have Billy and Lucy join me in ushering in a new year with fresh beginnings. We look forward to making sure it’s a night for everyone to remember.”
More names will be added to the bill in due course, along with further locations for the festive celebration.
Post Malone headlined the event to ring in 2020, which also saw performances from the likes of BTS, Alanis Morissette, Paula Abdul, Kelsea Ballerini, Blanco Brown, Dan + Shay, Green Day, Dua Lipa, Ava Max and Megan Thee Stallion.
