OHMYGOSSIP — Helena Christensen has always been “very vocal” about people who made her feel “uncomfortable”.
The 51-year-old actress is unsure whether she has been “fortunate” not to have experienced unwanted sexual advances throughout her career or if it’s because she’s of her “attitude” towards such situations.
She said: “From an early age I just had a hardcore attitude towards anyone who made me feel uncomfortable in any way. I would be very vocal about it.
“I can’t really know if it’s because I was fortunate or because of my attitude. It’s a job where you are on your own out there. You have to handle all sorts of situations as a young girl, and that matures you from the get-go. I came from a very tight-knit family in Denmark, and my parents [Danish father, Peruvian mother] instilled a lot of confidence in me. So that was a way for me to stay grounded, and also firm in my beliefs.”
But Helena praised the “courageous” women who have spoken out about their experiences as part of the #MeToo movement, including those who recently accused former modeling agency boss Gérald Marie, 70, of rape and sexual assault in the 1980s and 1990s, claims which he has denied.
She told The Times newspaper: “Thank God for all the courageous people who finally spoke out.”

Her fellow escapees from the city were her son, Mingus, 21, and “some friends”. She is separated from Mingus’s father, the actor Norman Reedus, and won’t comment on her present romantic status, yet does say, “I’ve only ever been in very long relationships. Once I get in a relationship, I stick with it. I don’t give up easily and I’m very loyal that way. But I’m also very loyal to myself.”
