Anya Taylor-Joy to lead How To Kill Your Family cast as Netflix announce several commissions

OHMYGOSSIP — Anya Taylor-Joy is to lead the cast of new series ‘How To Kill Your Family’.
The ‘Queen’s Gambit’ actress will portray murderous Grace Bernard in the show, which is inspired by Bella Mackie’s best-selling novel of the same name.
Superstar author Bella – whose husband is Radio 1 DJ Greg James – will co-executive produce the eight-episode series alongside Anya, Emma Moran, Sally Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger and Lee Morris.
The streaming giant has announced several other new commissions at the Edinburgh TV Festival, including documentary series about fashion designer Victoria Beckham, chef Gordon Ramsay, and boy band Take That.
The group – now made up of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen – have achieved 12 number ones on the UK Singles Chart.
Netflix’s new film will feature access to current members Gary, Howard and Mark, as well as interviews with past members Jason Orange and Robbie Williams.
What’s more, Netflix has also confirmed a second series of Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw’s upcoming spy thriller ‘Black Doves’ – before the first series has even aired – and a second series dating show of ‘Love is Blind: UK’, which is co-hosted by married couple Emma and Matt Willis.
It comes as the final episodes of season one have now been released on the streaming service.
In a social media post, Emma teased: “We have got some news for you,” as Matt added: “We’ve not been able to stop feeling the feels, so we are bringing you another dose of love!”
Emma then told fans: “That’s right, ‘Love Is Blind UK’ will be back on your screens, returning for season two next year!”
Matt explained: “We’ve seen your tweets, your comments, and all the chats from season 1, and we can’t wait to bring you a fresh batch of British singles looking for love in the pods.”

Ed Balls’ Good Morning Britain interview with wife Yvette Cooper sparks 16k complaints

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Balls’ controversial ‘Good Morning Britain’ interview with his own wife has attracted more than 16,000 complaints.
The former Labour MP is a regular guest host on the morning show, but several viewers were left outraged when he interviewed Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, who has been married to Ed since 1998.
Media regulator Ofcom was initially inundated with 8,000 complaints following the interview on August 5th, when ex-Labour cabinet minister Ed was co-hosting ‘GMB’ alongside Kate Garraway.
Ofcom also said some of the complaints were about an exchange with Labour MP Zarah Sultana.
According to The Sun newspaper, 16,783 complaints have now been made.
A spokesperson for Ofcom said: “We are assessing the complaints against our broadcasting rules but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.”
Ed is now on a summer break from ‘Good Morning Britain’, and he will return to the show alongside Susanna Reid in early September.
While holding a pavlova dessert, Ed – who won ‘Celebrity Best Home Cook’ in 2021 – wrote on Instagram: “What better way to celebrate the start of summer holidays than with a pavlova – our family favourite – loved working with Kate last week during such national turbulent times. I’m back with Susanna at the beginning of September when schools and Parliament return – see you soon”
Ed first guest presented on ‘GMB’ in November 2021, and in July he became a regular rotating presenting on the show.
Former ‘This Morning’ host Richard Madeley, actor Adil Ray, and TV star Robert Rinder also guest host the show, and Trisha Goddard made her guest presenting debut earlier this month.
Susanna and Kate are regular anchors on the programme, while Charlotte Hawkins and Ranvir Singh stand in for the pair at times.

EastEnders star Lacey Turner will host new soap podcast We Started Here

OHMYGOSSIP — Lacey Turner will host new podcast ‘We Started Here’ for BBC Sounds.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who has played Albert Square’s Stacey Slater on and off since 2004 – is “beyond delighted” about the BBC Studios Drama Production audio series, which will explore the origins of many famous faces who began their careers on soap operas, just like her.
The 36-year-old actress – who previously starred in ‘Our Girl’ – said: “‘EastEnders’ holds a very special place in my heart, it was my very first acting job, and although I have been fortunate enough to explore other roles, for me nothing compares to working on a soap.
“With this podcast I get the opportunity to talk to some incredibly talented people in the industry that also started their career on a soap, including writers, actors and many more, and I get to explore how soaps launched their careers and where they are now, which is very exciting.”
Lacey – who has five-year-old daughter Dusty and three-year-old son Trilby with her husband Matt Kay – has been praised as a “natural podcast host”.
Kris Green, a training executive at BBC Studios Drama Productions, said: “Soap has always had the most extraordinary ability to entertain the nation. But few see what goes on behind the scenes and many forget the stars whose careers it launched.
“These iconic shows are the unsung university of the screen industry in front of – and behind – the camera and Lacey’s journey is the epitome of how shows like ‘EastEnders’ can create household names. Lacey’s a natural podcast host, so we’re beyond delighted she’s agreed to take this on alongside her ‘EastEnders’ schedule. We can’t wait for you to listen.”

Kym Marsh teases Coronation Street return after role was ‘left open’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh has teased a return to ‘Coronation Street’ after the door was “left open”.
The ex ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star – who played Weatherfield resident Michelle Connor from 2006 to 2019 – has pointed out her character’s departure to Ireland from the cobbles was vague, and teased she could “always return” to the long-running ITV1 soap.
The 48-year-old actress told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It was left open, very much so and if the chance and opportunity was to arrive then I could always return if that was what was wanted.
“So yeah, there is always that option for her to go back, unless they kill her off! But there is that opportunity and I mean, I just love that show, I will always love ‘Coronation Street’, it’s such a major part of my life.”
Michelle – whose career has involved being in the pop band Hear’Say, presenting and now appearing on the ‘Waterloo Road’ revamp – admitted she was “very grateful” for having so many chances to develop herself professionally and felt it has gone by so quick.
She said: “It’s gone by so fast, my mum would tell you that she thinks I’m a workaholic.
“But I think the one thing for me that I always feel is very grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given and to be honest, none of us know how long our careers last for.
“One day these job offers won’t come up anymore so I’m of the mind that while they are there take them and I enjoy what I do, I love what I do and I have been given some brilliant opportunities over the years and I’ve ran with them but it has made everything go by in a flash, for sure.”
The ‘Morning Live’ host – who has kids David, 29, Emilie, 27, with her ex Dave Cunliffe, and daughter Polly, 13, with her ex Jamie Lomas, 49, along with grandchildren Polly, seven, Teddy, four, and Clayton, two – recently confessed one of her greatest mistakes was a cat tattoo she had done as a teenager.
Kym – who split from husband Scott Ratcliff last year – told the ‘Loose Ends’ podcast: “I’ve made some mistakes over the years… I have some very bad ones on my body. I’ve got one which no one will ever see, unless you see me on the beach. I got a cat tattoo on my right bum cheek when I was about 19. To be honest, it’s just a blob.”

Tim Curry makes big screen return in horror film Stream

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Curry has returned to the big screen after a 14-year hiatus for the horror movie ‘Stream’.
The 78-year-old actor – whose last movie was 2010’s ‘Burke and Hare’ – stepped away from performing in 2012 after he suffered a stroke that left him wheelchair-bound but has finally made a comeback in Michael Leavy’s new horror flick.
The director – who also served as the project’s writer and producer – said it was a dream come true to have the ‘It’ star on board for the picture, which started its limited theatrical run in the US, Mexico and Canada on Wednesday (21.08.24).
In a statement, Leavy said: “This has been a really hard secret to keep and contain our excitement, especially for this long.
“We are so happy and thrilled to bring Tim back to the movies and back to the big screen! His charm always radiates and shines through everything he does and we are so honored to have him a part of ‘Stream’!
“He is someone I have idolized personally growing up and it is one of the major highlights of my life getting to work with him, especially on a project that means so much to me.
“We can’t wait for fans to sit back and enjoy our movie in theaters and hopefully with a huge crowd having a blast together! This is the way horror films are meant to be seen and enjoyed. ‘Stream’ is here to entertain!”
After suffering a stroke, Curry focused on his voice acting career and performed in the likes of Fox’s 2016 animated remake of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ – the 1975 musical movie that shot him to stardom.
The actor had previously revealed he relied on his sense of humour to keep his morale high as he battled his medical condition.
He told the Los Angeles magazine: “It’s not tough to maintain. It is just part of my DNA.”

John Cena hates ’embarrassing’ sex scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena finds shooting sex scenes “really embarrassing”.
The 47-year-old actor has had to complete several intimate sequences across his movie career and has admitted filming the raunchy scenes is “the worst” because of the amount of people who have to watch him in action.
During an appearance on the ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast, he said: “There are so many people you need to make a movie.
“There’s nothing intimate about it. Nothing. Like it’s really embarrassing.”
The former WWE star recalled the comedic sex scene he filmed with Amy Schumer for 2015’s ‘Trainwreck’, which he said was made even worse because he had to “make fun of” himself during his performance.
Cena explained: “On top of that, to do a comedic sex scene, where you’re like, making fun of yourself? They literally [said] ‘Try to have the most awkward sex you possibly can.’ I don’t want to say it sucks, but it’s different than you all think it was.”
Even so, the ‘Suicide Squad’ star noted his naked appearance at the 96th Academy Awards earlier this year was even more uncomfortable because he had to bare all in front of hundreds of Hollywood A-listers.
He lamented: “I got all the people behind the camera, but then I walk out in front of a room of my peers, many of which I’ve never met because I haven’t worked my way up to meet [them].
“I have the most decorated performers, producers, directors in one room and I’m gonna go out there with my balls in the wind, with an index card covering my stuff like, ‘Hey guys, is this funny? Are we good?'”
The ‘Jackpot’ actor added he initially thought he would be “more naked” at the show.
He said: “I expected full d*** and n***, but it’s Disney, so they put tape on my b******** and stuff. That was even more embarrassing. Going out there with a taped b******? It’s tough.”

Helen Flanagan broke down in tears as star reveals she felt ‘invisible’ with her ex Scott Sinclair

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan broke down in tears while opening up about her relationship with her ex Scott Sinclair, admitting she felt “invisible” during her time with the professional footballer.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star admitted the pair’s romance eventually broke down because they “weren’t compatible anymore”, and she felt as though she was constantly “fighting to get his attention” from the 35-year-old footballer.
The 34-year-old actress said on ‘Celebs Go Dating’: “We weren’t right for each other. We weren’t compatible anymore. I remember I always used to feel quite invisible with Scott. I feel like I was always fighting to get his attention.”
Helen – who has children Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and Charlie, three, with Scott – became emotional while talking to the E4 show’s dating experts Anna Williamson, 43, and Dr Tara, 35 about how being a mother makes her feel anxious to date, because she thinks a man won’t want her for a long-term relationship.
She said: “I don’t know if I feel anyone is really going to love me. I know my ex treated me bad, and even though he could be an idiot he loved me.
“I just feel, I don’t know if any other man, because I have got three kids, is going to see me for more than just sex. I just say it first because I am aware of it. I think it is just an insecurity.”
Helen – who is appearing on the show alongside ‘Gogglebox’ star Stephen Webb, 53, ‘Married At First Sight’ star Ella Morgan, 30, ‘Love Island’ alum Chris Taylor, 34, and singer Jamelia, 43 – continued: “I just think men will think, ‘Oh she is fit but I would never wife her because she has got three kids.’
“I definitely 100 per cent think I talk about my kids a lot because I don’t actually want to talk about me. It’s like, ‘Oh God I have got to talk about me now’. I don’t want to really talk about me.
“I don’t know how not to do that though.”

Spencer Matthews sheds nearly 2 stone during ‘extreme’ 30 marathons in 30 days challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — Spencer Matthews has lost nearly two stone after burning more than 7,000 calories a day during his “extreme” 30 marathons in 30 days challenge.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star is taking part in the epic task across the Jordanian desert in the peak of summer for Global’s Make Some Noise charity, and it has resulted in him shedding more than 10 kilos in weight.
Speaking on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Zoe Hardman, he said: “I’ve lost over 10 kilos now. This is not how I would advise people to try and lose weight
“What we’re doing out here is quite extreme.
“Weight loss is certainly not really a point of this, but I’m burning over 7,000 calories a day, so to replace those calories is actually quite difficult in itself.
“Obviously, we’re quite tired during the day, it’s very, very hot out here, so you’re just constantly expensing energy. And yeah, I mean, I’m a hungry boy, and I love my food – but 7,000 calories is quite rough on replace, so I am getting smaller
“But the body is a really amazing thing; it kind of adapts to where you are, what you’re doing, what your circumstances might be.
“I think at this stage, having run 24 consecutive marathons, my body has gone, ‘Christ, you might just carry on doing this!’ So it does just chuck off muscle.
“I came in much heavier on top, and I have lost most of my muscle, so there we go.”
At one point during his epic challenge, Spencer admitted he was “very lucky” to avoid stepping on a venomous horned viper snake, which can kill a human in less than five minutes.
He said: “I very nearly trod on a horned viper. I don’t want to over dramatize the situation, because of course nothing happened, but I didn’t see it.
“I was running a tyre track through the desert, and this thing is quite well camouflaged, and I accidentally ran over it.
“The bloke behind me, Johnny, noticed it and stopped that there was a snake, and I turned around and looked at it.
“It turns out this thing kills a camel in five minutes and can kill a human far faster than that.
“I just want to reiterate that it didn’t attack us or anything like that, so I’m not pretending it did.
“But we were right next to it, I was quite lucky not to tread on it. I did run over it, literally, but I didn’t tread on it.
“There’s no anti-venom for horned vipers – and this is all cleated by our doctor – and the local Bedouins love to emphasise a bit of a story from time to time, so they were like, ‘If this thing bites you, you’re dead.’
“That’s not quite true, there are a few things you can do.”

‘It’s great to have it!’ Disney praises ‘really good fit’ Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Disney has told how ‘Doctor Who’ is a “really good fit” for its streaming service.
Liam Keelan, Disney’s SVP of original productions in EMEA, admitted the streaming giant is “really happy” to have the world rights to the BBC sci-fi series, which features Ncuti Gatwa as the titular Time Lord.
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Liam said: “[‘Doctor Who’] is a fabulous series.
“Obviously, in the UK it’s fully BBC, rightly so. We take rest of world rights.
“But really, really happy to have it. I think just, the quirkiness of it, the fact that it’s in that sci-fi world and when you think about what Disney offers in other regards, I think it feels like a really good fit to me. I mean it’s great to have it.”
However, Disney is yet to confirm whether it will renew its deal with the BBC beyond the next series of the show.
‘Doctor Who’ spin-off ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea’ was recently announced, and that will also be streamed on Disney+, as well as appear on the BBC.
Speaking recently at San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer Jane Tranter told Deadline: “We announced last week that we’re doing ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea’, which is the first time there’s a miniseries within the whole universe.
“So we’re thrilled that the BBC and Disney+ have awarded us that to do.”
Announcing the series, showrunner Russell T Davies said: “I’m so lucky to work with such a magnificent cast.
“And this is a huge, muscular, thrilling drama which will shake the Whoniverse to its foundations.
“When the Doctor’s not in town, the whole of humanity is in trouble.”
Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will lead the cast of the five-part series.

Gordan Ramsay reveals wife Tana uses another celebrity chef’s recipes

OHMYGOSSIP — Gordan Ramsay’s wife uses Jamie Oliver’s recipes.
The 57-year-old celebrity chef admitted it is “hard” to see his significant other Tana Ramsay use his long-time rival’s recipes.
Gordon made the admission to his wife’s friend Angela Harnett, 55, and Nick Grimshaw, 40, on their podcast ‘Dish’, after Angela spoke about being at the Ramsay residence, by saying: “If you see Tana when I’ve been round for supper, she’s so relaxed. But why should she switch?
“She’s got five (sic) kids and she’s got him hanging around trying to interfere and she’s just out and she just cooks something everyone wants to eat, like a great lasagne or a brilliant shepherd’s pie. She’s amazing.”
Gordon – who has children Megan, 26, Holly, 24, Jack, 24, Tilly, 22, Oscar, five, and Jesse, nine months, with Tana – then interrupted, saying: “Yeah and they’re all Jamie Oliver recipes. Do you have any idea how hard that is for me?”
The pair’s feud began when Jamie took exception to the ex ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ host’s comments about journalist Tracey Grimshaw.
After offering an apology to Tracey, he dubbed the ‘Naked Chef’ cookbook author a “one pot wonder”.
In retaliation, Jamie – who has kids Poppy, 22, Daisy, 19, Petal,15, Buddy, 15, 13, and River, eight, with his wife Jools, 49 – poked fun at Gordon for “having Botox”, before saying: “If I was to choose between Gordon Ramsay’s cookbook or Tana Ramsay’s, it would be Tana’s every time.
“In my opinion, her books are a damn sight better than his.”
However, Gordon has since dubbed Jamie a “great guy”, and admitted he called Jamie after his restaurant chain collapsed in 2019.
He said: “Bottom line is, he’s a great guy and a great chef and it was sad to see him disappear overnight but we had a drink and it was a tough time.”

Adam Sandler teases Travis Kelce’s cameo in Happy Gilmore 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Sandler has “a nice something” lined up for Travis Kelce in ‘Happy Gilmore 2’.
The Kansas City Chiefs player, 34, is set to cameo in the upcoming comedy at Netflix and the 57-year-old actor has teased what’s in store for Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.
During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Sandler said: “We have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by.
“He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”
The ‘Grown Ups’ star added he and the team have been working hard to create a worthy sequel to the 1996 sports comedy picture.
When asked for an update on the movie, Sandler said: “It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time, ‘Do Happy Gilmore 2.’ And I was always like ‘Nah, I’ll only let you down.’
“We’re really excited about it … We wrote our a**** off. We’re continuing to try to make it a movie that I think you’ll like.”
While he’s happy to reprise his role as the excitable golf player, the actor admitted he had to “practice” the “hop, skip and a hit” ‘Happy Gilmore’ swing as it has been a long time since the original flick.
Adam explained: “I did it recently. It seems simple, so I tried it out. And I fell.
“And I laid there for a while, and then somebody brought me a lemonade, and I just kind of laid down on the ground, drinking a lemonade for a while. But I’ll be ready. When it comes time to shoot, I’m a gamer, man.”
Recently, Sandler explained that he and co-writer Tim Herlihy felt it was the right time to make a sequel to the film that was a box office hit 28 years ago.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “The idea that me and my buddy Tim Herlihy had and the more we talked about it and scene to scene worked on it, it built and we feel very strong about the movie itself.
“We’re happy where it’s at and this is an exciting time for us. I don’t know how all of a sudden our brains said, ‘Let’s do that.’ It just kind of happened.”

‘The bar just couldn’t be higher’: The Batman: Part II gets exciting update from co-writer Mattson Tomlin

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Batman: Part II’ co-writer Mattson Tomlin has confirmed the movie will start filming next year.
The writer has been working with director Matt Reeves on the script for the upcoming DC Comics superhero flick – which will see Robert Pattinson, 38, return as the Caped Crusader – and has now revealed the team is “gearing up” to enter production in 2025.
He told Screen Rant: “It’s shooting next year. We’re gearing up, and I will say that the bar just couldn’t be higher.
“It’s the sequel to the first one. But also, Matt is like no other. In the five years now that I’ve been working with him as closely as I have, I’ve tried to absorb as much as humanly possible from him, and I’m so grateful for the time that I get to spend with him, because he is a true artist who is operating in a world where sometimes art doesn’t get to flourish, and he’s trying to make something that really matters.
“So, to be able to just be on the ride and be part of that process, it’s pretty unbelievable, pretty tremendous. I’m psyched for the movie.”
Selina Kyle/Catwoman actress Zoe Kravitz recently said that she was “keeping [herself] busy” with other projects like ‘Blink Twice’ as she waits for Reeves to finish the screenplay.
Speaking with Collider, she said: “Matt goes into his hole when he writes.
“Again, he’s a super intense, detail-oriented director, so I just keep myself busy with things like [‘Blink Twice’] until people call me.”
In February, Jeffrey Wright – who will reprise his role as Gotham City police officer James Gordon in the follow-up flick which is set to hit theatres in October 2026 – said he was also “patiently waiting” for the filmmaker to complete the script.
Jeffrey told Variety’s ‘Awards Circuit’ podcast: “Here’s the beginning, middle, and end laid out for you.
“I have not read the script. I have not received the script. I’m waiting patiently. But I’ll tell you what? As soon as I get it, I’ll call you. I’ll send a copy right over to you. On the off chance that Matt Reeves hears this, the hairs on the back of his neck are going to stand up.”

Amy Dowden was viciously trolled after cancer diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Dowden was branded a “narcissist and an attention seeker” by vicious trolls after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star has revealed she was bombarded with hurtful messages after she went public with her health crisis and she’s now calling for those involved in online abuse to receive harsher punishments.
Speaking in her her new BBC documentary – in clips obtained by The Mirror newspaper – she explained: “I wish these people realised what they are doing. I wish they could see the effect it does have. It’s like putting a nail in a piece of wood. You take the nail out and the wood is scarred forever. It’s never the same. And making those nasty comments is doing exactly that.
“I wouldn’t want anyone else to receive the messages I did.”
She went on to add: “Sometimes I was up at 2am and I couldn’t sleep because the steroids were keeping me up. I was so low and then receiving those messages was heartbreaking. I just feel like it’s not spoken about …
“When someone is bullying someone online and they take their own life, it’s kind of like manslaughter. Is there going to be punishment to stop people doing it? It’s awful.”
Amy – whose cancer was diagnosed as stage two – added of her own abuse: “They said I was a narcissist and an attention seeker. It was: ‘It’s not even stage 4.’
“They said I should hide away and get on with it on my own and asked why I felt the need to dance around in my garden when I shaved my head.
“Well, I was with my friends and we were trying to make the best of the situation.”
The dancer’s documentary is titled ‘Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me’ and airs on BBC One on Monday (26.08.24).

Tom Jones brands Simon Cowell’s talent shows ‘too harsh’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Tom Jones has made a dig at Simon Cowell for making talent shows “too harsh”.
The 84-year-old music legend is a coach on ITV’s ‘The Voice’ and he’s slammed the ‘X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ honcho for making a mockery of people who cannot sing.
He told MailOnline: “Well those kinds of talent shows take it too far. Simon Cowell has done that. You know, by saying, ‘Why are you on this show? What makes you think you can sing? Who told you you can sing’. I mean… Jesus.
“The difference between The Voice and other talent shows is, they can sing. They’ve got rid of those who can’t sing before the first auditions.”
This year’s series of ‘The Voice’ sees some new faces on the swinging chairs, with LeAnn Rimes and McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones replacing Olly Murs and Anne-Marie.
The ‘Sex Bomb’ hitmaker is here for the change.
He told the media as quoted by Metro.co.uk: “Well, it’s interesting.
“Again, that’s an exciting part. If it was the same coaches all the time it would get boring for the viewers, I think.
“So, it’s nice to work with others.”
Praising the new additions, he added: “So far so good. Everybody who has come on has fit in and they haven’t taken away. Personalities always come through, which is needed.”
Tom has been on the show since 2012, and has no plans to leave.
He said: “Well as long as they want me (I will stay).
“I mean I love doing it because I like helping singers. I would do it anyway. When young singers come up to me and ask a question, I will give them an answer.
“If I have time, I will talk to them and share what I think they should do in order to go forward.”

Tim Burton ‘not interested’ in returning to superhero movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Burton is “not interested” in making another superhero movie.
The Hollywood director previously helmed 1989’s ‘Batman’ and 1992’s ‘Batman Returns’ both starring his ‘Beetlejuice’ leading man Michael Keaton as the caped crusader but Burton is adamant he’s not got any plans to return to the comic book world.
He told Variety: “At the moment, I would say no. I come at things from different points of view, so I would never say never to anything. But, at the moment, it’s not something I’d be interested in.”
Burton went on to reveal making ‘Batman’ in 1988 was a very different experience to way most superhero films are made these days because the shoot felt “experimental”.
He explained to the publication: “I was lucky because at that time, the word ‘franchise’ didn’t exist. ‘Batman’ felt slightly experimental at the time …
“It deviated from what the perception [of a superhero movie] might be. So you didn’t hear that kind of studio feedback, and being in England [shooting the film], it was even further removed.
“We really just got to focus on the film and not really think about those things that now they think about even before you do it.”
Burton walked away from the ‘Batman’ movies after making his 1992 sequel and he admits the tide was starting to turn while they were shooting the film.
He added: “I got reenergised by the whole thing [when I returned for the sequel]. And that was when we started hearing the word franchise and where the studio started going, ‘What’s the black stuff coming out of the Penguin’s mouth?’
“It was the first time the cold wind of that kind of thing came upon me’.”
Burton came close to returning to superhero movies in the 1990s when he signed up to direct ‘Superman Lives’ which would have starred Nicolas Cage in the leading role, but the film was axed in 1998 and never made it into production.
In an interview with the British Film Institute, Burton previously admitted the cancelled movie has haunted him ever since. He said: “I don’t have regrets.
“I will say this: when you work that long on a project and it doesn’t happen, it affects you for the rest of your life.
“Because you get passionate about things, and each thing is an unknown journey, and it wasn’t there yet. But it’s one of those experiences that never leaves you, a little bit.”

Ariana Greenblatt had ‘big impostor syndrome’ over Now You See Me 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Greenblatt has “big impostor syndrome” about ‘Now You See Me 3’.
The 16-year-old ‘Barbie’ star has joined the cast of the third film in the hit magician heist franchise alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, and admits it was daunting being the only teen on the set.
She told Nylon: “It’s big impostor syndrome.
“I’m like, ‘Why the f*** am I here? What am I doing? I’m the only underage human in this building. What is happening?”
The ‘Borderlands’ actress has always been friends with her adult co-stars and hasn’t made any connects with other child stars.
She continued: “There’s a lot of teen actors, but for some reason, I don’t know any of them. I was watching some interview, I can’t remember who it was, but they were like, ‘It’s so crazy. All us kid actors know each other.’
“And I’m like, ‘What about me?… I’m in a different group chat alone with the adults. That’s just how it is. But it makes sense because I’ve never done a movie with other kids.”
Ariana revealed she has been learning lots of magic ahead of the role.
