Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen ‘closes in on Channel 4 series’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Owen looks set to land a new deal with Channel 4.
The 48-year-old TV star is best known as The Yorkshire Shepherdess after she enjoyed success with Channel 5 reality show ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ along with her husband Clive and their nine kids.
But since she and Clive went their separate ways last year after 22 years of marriage, Amanda is now thought to be heading over to the rival broadcaster to front a new, solo series following the success of six-part show ‘Farming Lives’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Channel 4 bosses very much saw the series as a test run of Amanda in a new setting and the response from audiences was good.
“So they want to push ahead and make more shows with her as soon as possible including a show which they are about to announce.
“It will still link to her origins on ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’, as it will tap into the region where she was born and spent most of her life. It very much marks the next stage of her evolution on TV and is a reflection of how she’s become a star in her own right.”
Amanda is mother to Raven, 21, Reuben, 19, Miles, 16, Edith, 14, Violet, 12, Sidney, 11, Annas, nine, Clemmy, seven, and six-year-old Nancy with her estranged husband, who briefly fronted spin-off show ‘Beyond the Yorkshire Farm’ with their eldest son Reuben on Channel 5 earlier this year.
In a statement posted to Instagram, the couple said in 2022: “Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate
“This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family. Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.”

Gladiators casts new stars Athena and Comet

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gladiators’ have revealed a further two stars, Comet and Athena.
The pair will take on contenders in the upcoming 11-part BBC revival of the classic 90s challenge series, joining the previously announced Sabre, Apollo, Diamond, Nitro, Giant, Fire, Legend, Fury and Steel as part of the new generation of Gladiators.
Comet, aka Ella-Mae Rayner, a former elite gymnast, counts former Gladiator Jet (Diane Youdale) as one of her childhood idols.
She said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be Comet.
“I loved watching ‘Gladiators’ growing up. I specifically remember Jet, she was an icon for me as a child and one of the reasons I become a gymnast.
“I can’t believe I will be following in her footsteps. It really is a dream come true.”
Athena, aka Karenjeet Kaur Bains, has represented Team GB, winning three Gold and two Silver Commonwealth Powerlifting medals.
The star is proud of her South Asian heritage, and as the first Sikh Gladiator she wants to inspire people of all backgrounds to achieve their full potential.
Athena said: “I represent all those from diverse and minority backgrounds, especially women, that have ever been denied the opportunity to pursue their dreams in sport.
“I hope I can be a role model and show the levels a female can achieve, if she is given the opportunity to follow her passion and given the wings to fly!”
The new Gladiators will take part in the ultimate test of speed and strength in a series of brand-new games alongside classics culminating with fan-favourite The Eliminator.
‘Gladiators’ will be filming in Sheffield. Further information about ‘Gladiators’ including broadcast details will be announced in due course.

Ken Loach plays down final film comments about The Old Oak

OHMYGOSSIP — Ken Loach has rowed back on comments that ‘The Old Oak’ could be his last film.
The 86-year-old filmmaker suggested recently that the movie was likely to be his final work behind the camera but has now hinted that this may not be the case.
Asked if this would be his swansong at the Cannes Film Festival, Ken said: “One day at a time. If you get up in the morning, and you’re not in the obituary column; one day at a time.”
The socialist director did emphasis how important it is for young filmmakers to get into the industry and make sure that those in power are kept in check.
Loach said: “It’s not up to the directors and writers if they can make films; now the doors are closing on young people who want to engage with the issues of their time with a political understanding other than simply a social understanding.
“That’s a big difference because political understanding means you challenge those in power with the money when their system is failing to support films that should challenge them?”
Ken suggested last month that he did not expect to make another picture as he is too old to do so.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Ken said: “Films take a couple of years and I’ll be nearly 90. And your facilities do decline. Your short-term memory goes and my eyesight is pretty rubbish now, so it’s quite tricky.”
He quipped: “I’m just not sure I can get around the court again. It’s like an old nag at the Grand National. You think, good God, I’ll be falling at the first fence!”

Chad Stahelski open to making more John Wick films

OHMYGOSSIP — Chad Stahelski would consider directing more ‘John Wick’ films.
Lionsgate chairman Joe Drake has revealed that a fifth movie in the action franchise is in development and Chad has confirmed that he would consider making a return if he was provided with the perfect story following the dramatic ending to ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’.
Chad told Screen Rant: “I’m massively in love with the characters and the world that we’ve built.
“Do I want to try other things? Yes, but to be brutally honest with you, if I was smart enough and good enough to come up with a way to continue the story, I would.
“It just felt right to end where Keanu and I both just in our hearts and our souls, felt it was good to do what we did. To end it and put a good cap on this and feel satisfied and not go out on it down, but go out on a high. It felt right to end the series like that.”
Chad is refusing to give up on ‘John Wick’ completely and would even be tempted to make spin-off films.
He explained: “I have no problem. I don’t think I’d ever be the guy, ‘Oh, no, I’ve already done that.’ I would love to try to do something new because everyone’s a challenge. I’m not trying to do an episodic feature thing where they’re all the same.
“I would try to different lighting, I would try to do different worlds. You keep trying. And I think I’d find great interest and satisfaction in that. I just haven’t thought of it yet.”
Chad added: “So to answer your question, yes. If something pops in and it works, yeah, I’d love to do it. If I could crack any of those stories that we mentioned, I’d love to.”

‘Love Island’ contestants to record self-descriptions for blind and partially sighted audiences

OHMYGOSSIP — The new ‘Love Island’ contestants will record self-descriptions to offer blind and partially sighted audiences the opportunity to get to know them.
ITV2’s latest series of the dating show, which starts 5 June, will also be audio describing a tour of its villa to give visually impaired people an understanding of the visual geography of the show’s key locations.
ITV’s director of accessibility David Padmore said: “We’re always looking for ways to make our shows more accessible to our audiences.
“We hope that having these Islander self-descriptions and Villa tours available alongside the show will really help bring this summer’s ‘Love Island’ to life for our audience.”
The move has been welcomed by the blind community, with Sonali Rai, the Royal National Institute of Blind People’s broadcast and audio description manager, said: “By embracing self-descriptions on the next series of ‘Love Island’, ITV is demonstrating a great understanding of the importance of providing equal access to content.
“RNIB research shows that a significant portion of TV programmes lack traditional audio description (AD), often due to challenges such as limited pauses in which to add AD, so we welcome this creative exploration in enhancing accessibility for blind and partially sighted viewers.
“This proactive initiative sets a remarkable example for the industry, highlighting the power of alternative solutions in creating an inclusive viewing experience for all.”
‘Winter Love Island’, which aired in January, featured the show’s first partially sighted contestant.
Ron Hall, 26, from Essex, lost sight in his right eye as a child in a football accident.
The self-descriptions will be available on the ‘Love Island’ YouTube page.
ITV unveiled a similar initiative using Helena Bonham Carter for drama ‘Nolly’ earlier in the year, called ‘Meet Nolly – Noele Gordon Character Description’.
ITV said as part of “a variety of advancements to improve accessibility on the show”, it “also worked closely” with the Monterosa platform on “several design improvements across the popular ‘Love Island’ app”.
All of the forthcoming episodes of the next series, which launches this summer on ITVX and ITV2, will also be subtitled.
Specialist teams across the broadcaster work closely with Lifted Entertainment – part of ITV Studios who produce the show – to secure access to episodes as early as possible to prepare subtitles in advance of transmission.
This summer’s ‘Love Island’ contestants include semi-pro footballer Tyrique Hyde, 24, from Essex, who – like former contestant Tasha Amber Ghouri, 24 – is deaf, with the sportsman lacking hearing in one ear.
He has marked his disability with a tattoo, and said ahead of going into the villa: “I’m deaf in my right ear. I’ve got a tattoo next to my left one that symbolises strength and power in my good one.”
Doncaster-born actress and social media creator Molly Marsh, 21, whose mum Janet has had parts in a series of soaps, is also part of the line-up.
Beautician Ruchee Gurung, 24, from Sutton, Bedford-born business development executive George Fensom, 24, as well as Catherine Agbaje, 22, a commercial real estate agent from Dublin, were also announced as among the first entrants into the villa this year.
French model Mehdi Edno, 26, is being tipped to the be this season’s Davide Sanclimenti, and Glaswegian model Ella Thomas, 23, has also signed up.
Their names were released on Monday (29.05.23) after show host Maya Jama, 28, revealed on ‘Good Morning Britain’ viewers will choose who couples with who for the first time in the history of ‘Love Island’.
‘Love Island’ will air from 9pm on 5 June on ITV2 and ITVX.

Mario Falcone’s wife gives birth

OHMYGOSSIP — Mario Falcone has become a father for the second time.
The former ‘Only Way is Essex’ star and his wife Becky welcomed a baby girl into the world on Monday (29.05.23) and they have named their daughter – a sibling for their four-year-old son Parker – Cali Roux.
Mario shared a photo of Becky cradling their baby in her hospital bed while holding Parker close and wrote on Instagram: “Cali Roux Falcone
“The Falcone family welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world on 29/05/23 at 10.19am. She is perfect.(sic)”
Fellow ‘TOWIE’ faces Billie Shepherd, Georgia Kousoulou and Jess Wright all sent messages of congratulations, as did Ferne McCann.
The pregnant star wrote: “Ahhhhhhhhhhh wow…..Cali. We can’t wait to meet her. Congratulations darlings.(sic)”
‘Geordie Shore’ star Vicky Pattison added: “Cannot wait to meet the little princess.”
Mario announced Becky’s pregnancy during an appearance on his sister Giovanna Fletcher’s ‘Happy Mum, Happy Baby’ podcast in December last year.
He let the news slip as he discussed his mental health and said: “Even now, with the next baby that’s coming…”
As everyone cheered, he continued his story and admitted he and Becky had felt they were “letting Parker down” as they struggled to conceive a second child and even went through a devastating miscarriage.
He continued: “This baby that’s coming, we had IVF.
“That was a really really … I had this thing in my head when we were tying for baby two, we had this added pressure we were letting Parker down.
“He’s so ready for a sibling – when he comes home from his cousins and he loves being there, he says ‘why haven’t I got a brother or sister?’.
“That literally kills you as you’re like I can give you anything you want as my son, but this is the one thing I actually can’t give you.”

Nico Parker, Mason Thomas cast in How to Train Your Dragon

OHMYGOSSIP — Nico Parker and Mason Thomas will star in the live-action adaptation of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’.
The ‘Last of Us’ actress will portray Astrid, while the 15-year-old ‘Black Phone’ actor will play fellow human rider Hiccup in the upcoming movie, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
According to the outlet, writer and director Dean DeBlois – who also helmed the original films – spent months looking for the right actors who would be able to grow into the roles in the way the characters grow into maturity throughout the series, which saw jumps in age across the three movies to highlight different stages of life.
Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera originally voiced Hiccup and Astrid in the animated trilogy.
The original ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ came to screens in 2010 and was a considerable success.
The movie introduced Hiccup, a misfit teenager who studies at a dragon-fighting school – and he tries to prove that he is a true Viking.
And news of a live-action adaptation based on the books by Cressida Cowell comes after DeBlois insisted the animated series would end at three movies.
In 2017, he confirmed that ‘The Hidden World’ would be the last to feature in the franchise as he and his team of writers believed they’d managed to draw the blockbuster to a close for good.
He said: “We thought about it for a long time and came up with what we think is a bittersweet way to say goodbye to these characters, but the right way. You will understand why Hiccup says, as you heard in the trailer, ‘There were dragons when I was a boy.’ And by the end of this film, you’ll have answered the question [of] what could have happened to them.”
Fans were left waiting for ‘How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ to drop since 2016 when bosses announced a 2017 release date before pushing it back to 2018 and then delaying it until 2019.
In 2015, DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg said the biggest issue with scheduling times was due to the restructuring of DreamWorks – the movie production company – and conceded that the three-films-a-year plan was very ambitious.

The Flash director Andy Muschietti would have Ezra Miller back in a sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Flash’ director Andy Muschietti would have Ezra Miller back in the titular role if there is ever a sequel.
The filmmaker insisted that no one can play the DC superhero better than Miller, and he would have the 30-year-old star back in a flash, despite the fact they were arrested multiple times last year,
Appearing on ‘The Discourse’, Muschietti said: “If [a sequel] happens, yes.
“I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And, as you said, the two Barrys — it feels like a character that was made for them.”
Producer Barbara Muschietti added: “In principal photography, Ezra was brilliant and the most committed and the most professional [actor]. Ezra gave everything for this role — physically, creatively, emotionally. They were absolutely supreme.”
Their comments come after Miller’s co-star Michael Shannon admitted he “feels for” the troubled star.
The 48-year-old actor plays DC’s villainous General Zod in ‘The Flash’.
And when asked about the controversy surrounding the movie, Shannon told Vanity Fair: “If you’re talking about Ezra [Miller], I thought Ezra was lovely — very kind to me when I was there. It’s difficult to talk about, but I always give people a lot of slack in this business, because there’s a lot of people in this business that have issues. And some people have more privacy than others.
“Any time somebody is out in the spotlight getting picked on, I feel for them. Even if it’s warranted, it’s still a horrible situation.”
Miller – who goes by they/them pronouns – has previously been hit with allegations of grooming after the parents of Native American activist Tokota Iron Eyes, 18, filed a protection order against the actor.
Miller was also arrested twice in Hawaii in March last year and charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree assault.
They were accused of shouting and swearing at customers as they sang karaoke at a bar, as well as grabbing a microphone from a 23-year-old woman.
Miller pleaded no contest to one count of disorderly conduct and paid a $500 fine over the incident.
A married couple also took out a restraining order against them after Miller burst into their bedroom and threatened to kill them then left, stealing her passport and his wallet.
And in April 2022, the star was accused of throwing a chair at a 26-year-old woman and hitting her at a private party.
A video of Miller appearing to choke a woman at a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland, also surfaced in April 2020 but did not result in any charges.
Last year, Miller announced that they were seeking treatment for “complex mental health issues”, saying in a statement: “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.”

Eamonn Holmes: Phillip Schofield’s former young lover needs ‘duty of care’

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield’s former young lover is having a “tough” time, according to Eamonn Holmes.
The 63-year-old TV presenter previously co-hosted ITV’s ‘This Morning’ alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, and after Phil quit the brunchtime show earlier this month, after lying about an affair he had with a “younger male” colleague, Eamonn has revealed he and his other half comforted the unnamed man who is going through hell amid the controversy.
Appearing on ‘GB News’, he said: “Ruth is still in touch with Phillip’s young lover – life is tough for him.”
Eamonn continued: “Phillip’s young lover would seek comfort from me and Ruth – he felt alone [and] in a bad way.
“Ruth and I particularly looked after him, he never once talked to us about any relationship, but we knew he was in a bad way.
“There’s an incredible duty of care that needs to go towards that young man.”
During his interview with Dan Wootton, Eamonn said he believes Holly Willoughby should follow Phillip “out the door” of the show.
He said: “Not only should Phillip go, but Holly should follow him out the door.
“I don’t think you’ll ever see Holly back on the couch again.”
In a confessional statement, Phillip told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I am making this statement via the Daily Mail to whom I have already apologised personally for misleading, through my lawyer who I also misled, about a story which they wanted to write about me a few days ago.
“The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry for having lied to them, and to many others about a relationship that I had with someone working on ‘This Morning’.
“I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at ‘This Morning’.
“Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
“That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.”
Holly – who co-hosted ‘This Morning’ alongside Phillip for 14 years – then claimed he “directly” lied to her about the affair with their colleague.
She wrote on Instagram: “It has taken time to process yesterday’s news.
“When reports of this friendship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not.
“It’s been very hurtful to now find out this was a lie.”
ITV confirmed on Saturday (27.05.23) they had investigated claims of an affair between Phillip and his colleague, but both had denied it after rumours about the relationship first emerged in 2020.
A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: “Further to our statement last night, ITV can confirm that when rumours of a relationship between Phillip Schofield and an employee of ITV first began to circulate in early 2020 ITV investigated.
“Both parties were questioned and both categorically and repeatedly denied the rumours as did Phillip’s then agency YMU.
“In addition, ITV spoke to a number of people who worked on ‘This Morning’ and were not provided with, and did not find, any evidence of a relationship beyond hearsay and rumour.
“Phillip’s statement yesterday reveals that he lied to people at ITV, from senior management to fellow presenters, to YMU, to the media and to others over this relationship.”

Kumail Nanjiani and Mandy Moore to star in Thread: An Insidious Tale

OHMYGOSSIP — Kumail Nanjiani and Mandy Moore have been cast in ‘Thread: An Insidious Tale’.
The pair are attached to star in the latest movie in the ‘Insidious’ horror universe from Screen Gems, Blumhouse and James Wan’s Atomic Monster.
‘Thread’ is the sixth installment in the franchise – which looks at ordinary people caught up with demonic entities – but serves as a spin-off project rather than a continuation of the series.
The plot centres on a husband and wife (Nanjiani and Moore) who enlist the help of a spell to travel back in time and prevent the death of their young daughter.
As expected, the consequences turn out to be severe.
The ‘Insidious’ franchise launched back in 2011 and has grossed more than $542 million in total at the box office with the fifth movie ‘Insidious: The Red Door’ slated for release in July.
Kumail played the role of Kingo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie ‘Eternals’ but suggested that legendary directors Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese had earned the right to criticise the superhero blockbusters.
The 45-year-old star said: “I obviously love the movies Tarantino makes or Scorsese makes, and I may disagree with Scorsese’s opinion on superhero movies, but I mean, who else has earned the right to have an opinion?”
In 2019, Scorsese compared Marvel flicks to “theme parks” and insisted that they are “not cinema” and Kumail finds it “strange” that people got so offended by the filmmaker’s comments.
He told Esquire magazine: “If Scorsese hasn’t earned the right to have an opinion on movies, then none of us should have an opinion on movies. It’s so strange that people get upset about it.”

Rebecca Ferguson set for Best Served Cold role

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Ferguson is in talks to star in ‘Best Served Cold’.
The 39-year-old actress is set to join the cast of the new film based on the best-selling book of the same name by Joe Abercrombie with ‘Deadpool’ helmer Tim Miller set to direct.
Originally published in 2009 as part of Abercrombie’s ‘First Law World’ series, ‘Best Served Cold’ tells the story of mercenary Monza Murcatto (Ferguson), the betrayal that ostracises her and her quest for revenge that changes a nation forever.
Abercrombie has adapted his story for the big screen and serves as a producer on the flick. Others involved on the production side include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger for Skydance.
Rebecca stars in the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise as MI6 agent Ilsa Faust but doesn’t want her alter ego to have a standalone spin-off project as she feels the team dynamic makes the series successful.
The Swedish actress – who will return for the conclusion to the franchise in ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ and ‘Part Two’ – told ComicBook.com: “When I started ‘Mission’, I fell in love with Ilsa so much. I thought, ‘Yeah, f*** yeah she’d have a spin-off.’
“And then gradually, I don’t know if I became humble or if I realised it has nothing to do with Ilsa, it actually is a team thing, it is Ilsa and Ethan and (Simon Pegg’s) Benji and – I was gonna say Ving (Rhames) – all of the characters together that makes it so good.”
However, the ‘Dune’ actress does believe that a spin-off project could be successful if it is developed by the team behind ‘Mission: Impossible’ – including lead star Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie.
The Swedish star said: “The idea of Ilsa alone – it would always work, you would need Chris McQuarrie and you would need Tom to produce it. Maybe Tom’s Ethan (Hunt) can dip in and out, he can be a guest star in my show.”

Maya Jama reveals HUGE Love Island twist

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama has revealed that the public will be able to decide who couples up on ‘Love Island’ for the first time.
The 28-year-old presenter is fronting the 10th series of the hit ITV2 reality dating show – which returns to screens on Monday June 5 – and in a world-first, the public will be able to see the lineup on social media on Monday (29.05.23) before voting for their favourites to couple up.
Speaking on ITV1’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “I’m so excited. It’s come around so fast because the winter one, we finished in March and it’s like ‘Oh my God, it’s here already’. I’m just excited to meet everyone and get stuck in I think, the bright colours are out already! The public has all the power, so for the first episode, you guys are gonna decide who couples up! You vote and we listen. So it’s a big decision to make as soon as you see them. You’ll see them. They get announced this morning and you can kind of make your notes if you want, start jotting down who you think should be together and then when it starts, off you go!”
The former ‘Celebrity Juice’ star – who replaced Laura Whitmore for the winter edition of the show earlier this year – went on to remain tight-lipped about the lineup but admitted that she “loves” seeing the drama on the game show unfold.
Asked if she could give any hints as to who may be in the villa, she said: “No, because that takes away all the fun, doesn’t it? First keep your Twitter or your browser open!”
“I suppose the final week is always the most romantic, isn’t it?
“They’re all in love and you’ve watched the whole journey so that’s always the cutest bit but I prefer the drama of it if I’m honest. Casa Amore is [always the most jaw-dropping] because you go off, you think you’re in a situation, you come back and you’re man or your woman is with someone else. It’s like a dream job for me and just being back here so quickly, I can’t believe it’s happening so fast. And it’s summer and I feel like it’s the original time where everybody gets on their sofas and gets pumped up for ‘Love Island’ season!”
Viewers can cast their free votes via the Love Island app.
Votes close at 9pm on Friday 2 June.

‘Now I no longer work at This Morning I’m free to say this’ Phillip Schofield releases NEW statement

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield has insisted that there is “no toxicity” at ‘This Morning’.
The 61-year-old star sensationally quit the ITV daytime magazine show last week after 20 years amid rumours of a feud with his co-star Holly Willoughby, 42, and just days after admitting that he had an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague whilst still married to Stephanie Lowe has insisted that a “handful” of people seem to have a “grudge” against him.
He wrote on Instagram: “Now I no longer work on @thismorning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice. This morning IS the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity.
“You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it IS a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard working people.”(sic)
In recent days, Phil’s long-serving co-star Holly – who is set to continue with her role on ‘This Morning’ – claimed that she had been “lied to” by Phil and Dr. Ranj Singh claimed that there had been a “toxic culture” on the set of the daytime show throughout the decade he appeared.
On Saturday, Holly wrote on Instagram: It has taken time to process yesterday’s news.
“When reports of this friendship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not. “It’s been very hurtful to now find out this was a lie.”
ITV confirmed on Saturday (27.05.23) that they had investigated claims of an affair between Schofield and his colleague but both had denied it after rumours about the relationship first emerged in 2020.

“Phillip’s statement yesterday reveals that he lied to people at ITV, from senior management to fellow presenters, to YMU, to the media and to others over this relationship.”
Phillip – who has now left the broadcaster entirely – said in a long statement issued to the Daily Mail on Friday (26.05.23): “I am making this statement via the Daily Mail to whom I have already apologised personally for misleading, through my lawyer who I also misled, about a story which they wanted to write about me a few days ago.

The Little Mermaid is expected to take home 117 million dollars over Memorial Day Weekend

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Little Mermaid’ is expected to take home $117 million over Memorial Day Weekend
The live action version of the 1989 animated classic – which kicked off the Disney Renaissance of the 90s – cost $250 million to make so it is on track to turn a profit for the Walt Disney Studios.
The Rob Marshall-helmed remake – which stars Halle Bailey in the title role – was dubbed “a classic” by big wigs at the movie studio as they looked forward to droves of people watching the flick with “the next generation.
Tony Chambers, the head of distribution at Disney told Variety: “It’s a classic. You ask a lot of women or men of my age and it’s ‘Little Mermaid’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ that rank as their favorite animated movie. It’s a story that takes them back to their respective childhoods and this movie is the perfect opportunity for a lot of people to pass that love on to the next generation.”
Halle revealed she was “inspired” by the R+B icon Brandy’s turn as Cinderella in the 1997 movie of the same name.
The 23-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight: “I just am really grateful to be in this position. I loved Brandy as Cinderella; she was so amazing, such a role model and inspiration, and a really big kind of studying point for me as I was taking on Ariel. I just watched how amazing she was in that role and how comfortable she was in her skin and how impactful to audiences and little girls like me who watched it. And Anika Noni Rose, who’s just outstanding.
“I’ve had the chance to meet her and we got to sing [‘The Princess and the Frog’] song together, ‘Almost There’ for [2022’s ‘Disney Family Singalong’] with my sister. She was always so kind! But there are these beautiful black women pioneers who’ve done this before and been there for me to be able to say, ‘OK, I can do this.”
The ‘Do It’ hitmaker called all the little girls who look like her getting to see themselves in the role as “a beautiful moment”.
Halle said: “It’s been such a beautiful moment for me to be able to see the reactions of the babies — it makes me just emotionally overwhelmed honestly and I cry as soon as I watch them. I think of the little girl that’s still in me, honestly, and it heals that girl inside of me to watch them feel like they have representation and someone to look to, to know that they deserve to be in those places too. [It’s] so important. It just makes me cry anytime I see any of those videos.”

Tony Hawk says Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are scoring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Hawk says Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are doing the score for the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie.
The 55-year skateboarding legend spilled the tea about the Oscar winning duo putting together the soundtrack to the new adaption of the beloved childhood classic franchise – which centres on about crime fighting turtle brothers – when talking about his cover of Nine Inch Nail’s 1992 song, ‘Wish’ that featured Trent and Atticus.
He said on his podcast ‘Hawk vs Wolf’ to his co-host Jason Ellis: “Him and Atticus were working on ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ […] When I went there, they were working on the soundtrack to that movie that [co-writer, producer, and Bebop voice actor] Seth [Rogen] told us about.”
The flick’s director Jeff Rowe confirmed the speculation on Twitter and admitted he didn’t possess “the vocabulary” to do the musical pair’s work justice.
Jeff said: Well now that my teenage hero @tonyhawk has leaked that my music heroes are doing this I can add that the score is absolutely AMAZING. Exhilarating, terrifying, heartbreaking, full of sounds I didn’t know existed. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe it. I love it so much.”
Tony’s cover – which also included the musical talent of The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman, The Bronx’s Brad Mager and Every Time I Die’s Ryan Leger -was always something the organiser, the Fairmounts’ frontman Mikey Hawdon always “wanted” to do.
He said in the description: “I also knew that if we ever did, the lineup would have to be just right. I couldn’t be happier with the passion and energy that this crew brought and delivered. Much love to all involved.”

Soap star’s daughter leads cast of latest ‘Love Island’

OHMYGOSSIP — The daughter of a soap actress, a beautician, footballer and French model are among the first new ‘Love Island’ cast.
Their names were released on Monday (29.05.23) by ITV2 ahead of the contestants entering the villa next month for the summer run of the dating show, which starts 5 June.
The entrance of Molly Marsh – whose mum Janet has had roles in a string of British soaps – was first reported earlier this month, and confirming she had signed up, she said: “With my job being in social media, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to go on press trips and I’ve actually been out to the Love Island Villas in Mallorca and South Africa.
“Having the experience to walk around both was amazing but to now actually live in the Villa is going to be incredible.”
Doncaster-born Molly, 21, boasts 26,000 followers on her Instagram and she is thought to have caught show bosses’ eyes after taking a tour of the winter villa in January.
She added when asked why she wants to go on ‘Love Island’: “I think it’s ideal timing and the perfect way to find someone.
“I don’t go out and party and I don’t use dating apps, I’m actually quite old-fashioned, so there’s no better way to meet someone than by going into a Villa in the sun with the potential ‘one’ in there.
“I live on a farm with my mum, dad, sister, grandma, grandad, aunty, uncle, cousin, cousin’s husband, their baby and chicken.”
Beautician Ruchee Gurung, 24, from Sutton, semi-pro footballer Tyrique Hyde, 24, from Essex, and Bedford-born business development executive George Fensom, 24, as well as Catherine Agbaje, 22, a commercial real estate agent from Dublin, are also part of the line-up.
Like former contestant Tasha Amber Ghouri, Tyrique is deaf, with the sportsman lacking hearing in one ear.
He has marked his disability with a tattoo, saying: “I’m deaf in my right ear. I’ve got a tattoo next to my left one that symbolises strength and power in my good one.”
French model Mehdi Edno, 26, is being tipped to the be this season’s Davide Sanclimenti, and Glaswegian model Ella Thomas, 23, has also signed up.
Their names were released after show host Maya Jama, 28, revealed on ‘Good Morning Britain on Monday viewers will choose who couples with who for the first time in the history of ‘Love Island’.
‘Love Island’ will air from 9pm on 5 June on ITV2 and ITVX.
