Amanda Abbington received death threats

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Abbington received “death threats” after it was revealed she suffered PTSD following her stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Mr Selfridge’ actress – who has two children with former partner Martin Freeman and is engaged to stuntman Jonathan Goodwin – has thanked fans for their support after it was revealed she had asked the BBC for footage of rehearsals with her dance partner Giovanni Pernice following the news of her diagnosis, but admitted she had also been targeted by online trolls.
Amanda told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I just want to thank everyone who has been so kind and lovely and supportive this past week.
“It means a great, great deal.
“I was diagnosed with mild PTSD after ‘Strictly’ for several reasons and I told a few people about that, in the utmost confidence, among other things that were happening in my life at the time both professionally and personally.
“I’m very sorry that people felt the need to send me death threats, threaten my children and bring up my past, healthy relationship with an ex-partner as an indicator of my current mental health. I wish those people well.”
Her comments come after Giovanni also thanked fans for their support amid reports about his previous clashes with his dance partners due to his “perfectionist” attitudes.
He wrote on Instagram on Thursday (11.01.24): “I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has sent messages of support over the last week — I really truly appreciate it — thank you thank you thank you.”
Amanda, 51, cited health reasons when she quit ‘Strictly’ in October, just a few weeks into the show.
Noticeably not mentioning Giovanni, she wrote on social media at the time: “It is with deepest regret that I had to leave ‘Strictly’. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.
“It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.
“I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring. It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I’ll miss all of them.
“I’m so sad that I am unable to go any further. Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support. You are all amazing. Truly. Thank you. xxx’ (sic)”

Tina Fey had one condition in which she’d reprise Mean Girls role in musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Tina Fey agreed to return to ‘Mean Girls’ if she didn’t have to sing.
The 53-year-old actress and her co-star Tim Meadows reprised their roles as Ms. Norbury and Principal Duvall from the original movie in the new big screen musical adaptation, but she admitted their involvement was conditional on them being able to just stick to dialogue.
Tina told People magazine: “I am reprising my role as Ms. Norbury because we thought, well, teachers work for a long time. So it might make sense if Tim and I did it.
“So I called Tim and I was like, ‘Will you do it? I’ll do it if you do it.’ And we said yes, as long as we don’t have to sing.”
Tina relished working with the 62-year-old actor – who previously reprised his role in ‘Mean Girls 2’ – again.
She added: “It was fun. It’s been nice to see Tim. One of us has aged — the other one of us is Tim Meadows! But it’s been really nice to get to work with Tim again.”
The new movie sees Renee Rapp reprise her Broadway role as Regina George alongside Angourie Rice as Cady, Anatika as Karen Smith and Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners, and Tina – who wrote both the original and the new film but wasn’t connected to ‘Mean Girls 2’ – enjoyed getting a new cast together for the musical.
She said: “Bringing together a cast of actors is one of my favorite parts of the process, whether it’s in film, television, or stage.
“I love getting a chance to be a part of it. And I’m so thrilled about this cast that has come together for the new ‘Mean Girls’.
“They’re all so incredibly charismatic.”

Dan Levy ‘haunted’ after turning down Barbie role

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Levy is “haunted” by his decision to turn down a role in ‘Barbie’.
The former ‘Schitt’s Creek’ star was asked to play one of the Kens in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster smash hit but he was unable to accept the part because of scheduling conflicts and he admitted it was a “tough” decision to have to make.
He told People magazine: “Logistically, could not make it work despite desperately trying to. So, yeah, I guess I was technically unavailable to do that.
“Does it haunt me when I sleep at night? Sometimes. It’s not like it isn’t one of the biggest movies of all time. That was a tough day.”
The 40-year-old actor found it particularly difficult to turn down the role because he’s such a big fan of the director.
He said: “I think Greta has such a, like, wonderfully bizarre and magical aesthetic idea of what that movie was.
“I would have loved to play in her world. I think she is one of the great, young auteurs of our time.”
Dan can currently be seen in ‘Good Grief’, a Netflix movie he wrote, directed, and stars in, and the film sees him playing an artist who embarks on a trip to Paris with his two best friends in a bid to get over the death of his husband, who is played by Luke Evans.
And Dan admitted the movie was inspired by the valued friendships he has in his own life.
He said: “As someone who’s single a lot, your friends are the loves of your life.
“The friends I have are lifers. I love them dearly, to the point where I wrote a movie about that love and how it can save us in the hardest of times.”

George Clooney encourages positive atmospheres when directing films

OHMYGOSSIP — George Clooney refuses to be unpleasant when directing films.
The 62-year-old star has helmed the sports drama ‘The Boys in the Boat’ and has learned from bad experiences on past film sets in terms of treatment of the cast and crew.
George told Total Film magazine: “Well, I’ve been on sets with miserable directors. I’ve been on sets with directors who yell and scream. To me, it doesn’t matter what the product is at that point.
“This is a job where there’s 300 people on the set trying to do the best they can. There is no reason and no purpose for people being treated badly. I hate it, and I won’t do it.
“I’ve had directors who I like personally, but I know them reputationally, and within the last few months they’ve come to me and said, ‘When are we going to work together?’
“And I go, ‘We’re never going to work together, dude. I think you’re great, but I’ll never work with you because you’re mean, and I can’t be around it.'”
The movie follows the University of Washington rowing team and their attempts to compete at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin but Clooney explained that it was the “simplistic” story rather than the time period that held the most appeal to him.
The ‘Burn After Reading’ actor said: “Well, I don’t actually run towards period pieces, but I found some very simplistic, interesting stories. I like to do films that are challenging. And then, this one, the challenge was about making the film, not about the story.
“This is one where we know where you’re going to stand on it. You’re against Hitler unless, you know, you’re some knucklehead! And we were rooting for this team to win. We’re rooting for these guys. That’s a fun, simplistic story.”

Ricky Hatton was ‘terrified’ of getting on the ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Ricky Hatton was as “terrified” by his first ‘Dancing On Ice’ training session as he was when he faced Floyd Mayweather.
The 45-year-old former boxer – who was defeated by the welterweight champion in a 2007 bout in Las Vegas – signed up for the show because he was ready to take on a new challenge and though he initially found getting his skates on to be a “daunting” prospect, he’s proud of the progress he’s made with professional partner Robin Johnstone.
He told talkSPORT: “You never thought you’d hear that did you? Ricky Hatton on ‘Dancing On Ice’. I’ve been doing it for about nine weeks now.
“From the first day – for somebody who got punched in the face for a living – to say how daunting it is when you first step on that ice when you’ve never ever done it before.
“I’ve never been that scared since I fought Floyd Mayweather.
“Where I am, from the first day to the present day, I really have surprised myself.
“I didn’t think I was gonna make it to where I am to be honest.”
Despite his fears, Ricky has “fully enjoyed” the experience so far and though he expects to be “nervous” when the live shows start on Sunday (14.01.24) evening, he thinks it’ll only deepen the pleasure he is getting from the show.
He said: “But I’ve fully enjoyed it, I struggled with retirement, I thought I was never gonna have that adrenaline rush again walking out to the ring, but I feel like I’ve got it back.
“I feel like, come Sunday when I’m walking to that ice rink to go on there, I think I’ll be equally as nervous, which I’ve enjoyed to be honest.
“I feel like I’m back in training and I’ve had to study and knuckle down with it like I used to do when I was fighting, it’s been brilliant.”
However, Ricky admitted his boxing background hasn’t been much use.
He said: “The fitness hasn’t been the problem because for the last two years now I’ve been doing really well with myself and kept up my fitness.
“I do feel like I’ve been run over by a train the next day when I get up because it uses bits of muscles that you wouldn’t normally use.
“It’s totally different to boxing, you’ve gotta have your feet together so you’ve got a good, firm base, whereas in boxing you’ve gotta have your feet apart to have the base.
“It’s just little things like that I’ve had to get used to.”

‘I’ll be putting a sock down there’: Ryan Thomas plans protection against tight Dancing On Ice costumes

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Thomas plans to stuff a sock down his pants before his ‘Dancing On Ice’ performances.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star is happy to embrace anything the costume department offer him when he takes to the ice, but admitted he’s concerned about the impact of the tight-fitting costumes and the cold conditions in the rink.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “I love them – the tighter the better. The only thing is, I’ll be putting a sock down there because it’s cold on the ice.
“I don’t care about colours. I don’t care about skirts, I don’t care about leotards. You put me in it, I’ll wear it. I love dressing up.”
The 39-year-old actor is “fearless” and confident in his skating ability ahead of the show starting on Sunday (14.01.24) , with his biggest concern being accidentally causing injury to his professional partner Armani Fancy.
He said: “As a kid, I played roller hockey. I’m fearless. All I’m worried about is dropping Amani, there’s a lot of responsibility in my hands, literally.
“But I’m not holding back on lifts. This is fighting talk.”
Ryan thinks it is “fate” that he was asked to be on the show because he got the call just days after his daughter Scarlett – who he has with former girlfriend Tina O’Brien – randomly asked him to take part.
Asked about his family’s reaction to him taking part in the new series, Ryan – who also has Roman, three, and Lilah, 19 months, with fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh – said: “They were delighted for me, because they know how much I enjoy skating.
“My being on the show seems a bit like fate actually, because the week before I got the phone call, my 15-year old daughter Scarlett said to me out of the blue, ‘Dad, will you do ‘Dancing On Ice’?’”

Georgia Steel reveals who she would be ‘devastated’ to couple up with on Love Island All Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Steel would be “absolutely devastated” if she had to couple up with Dr. Alex George on ‘Love Island: All Stars’.
The 25-year-old reality TV star and the 32-year-old medic both took part in series four of the ITV2 dating show, but Georgia would be gutted to hook up with Alex now, because she sees him as “more like a brother” than a potential boyfriend.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s not the worst person because I don’t like them, but the least compatible person for me would be Dr. Alex.
“Obviously I met him on my series, lovely man but he’s more like a brother to me.
“But if they said to me you have to couple up with Dr. Alex I’d be absolutely devastated. And I’ll tell him that as well.”
Georgia is one of the 12 initial Islanders who will take part in new spin-off show ‘Love Island: All Stars’, which starts on Monday (15.01.24), and she would love series five star Ovie Soko to be a bombshell later in the season.
She said: “There is definitely someone I’ve looked at from afar and that is Ovie Soko. I bet everyone says that!
“I just feel like I would be compatible with him on the outside.”
Georgia – who became known for her “I’m loyal, babes” catchphrase in series four – has insisted she is more “open minded” ahead of the ‘All Stars’ season.
She added: “I’m a lot more open minded and optimistic. I know what I want in a partner.
“I want them to be caring, emotionally intelligent.
“Looks are a bonus but it’s how they make me feel is what makes me fall in love now.”

Gladiator Sabre details horror injury: ‘My hamstring went pop’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gladiators’ star Sabre’s hamstring “went pop” during a shock injury she suffered while filming the show.
The 35-year-old athlete was forced to pull out of filming on the revamped BBC programme after sustaining a brutal injury to her leg last summer, which left her hospitalised.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, she said: “My hamstring went pop.
“It happens, we put ourselves in these combat situations and we’ve worked really hard over a long period of time, and I feel like it was just the position I was in, the power I was putting into my leg.
“As an athlete, I’m no stranger to injury, it’s because we’re pushing our limits to get to that next level, that doesn’t come without risk.
“And rehab went really well, I’ve had so much support from the physio in Gladiators, and a lot of people up here, professionals, have helped me, physios and chiropractors.”
While she was out of action, Sabre – whose real name is Sheli McCoy – said it was her goal “to be back on [her] own two feet at a really high intensity functional capacity of training”.
Fortunately, the athlete achieved her goal and is back on her feet, but the ‘Gladiators’ star conceded she wasn’t “quite there yet” with her condition.
She explained: “I haven’t ventured into long distance running, I’m not quite there yet, but I’m doing shorter distances, taking plenty of time and listening to my body, and giving myself enough time, there’s no rush.”
Fellow Gladiator Comet – real name Ella-Mae Rayner – also picked up an injury, breaking her ankle and foot in multiple places, as well as dislocating a bone.

Ex-Gladiators host Ulrika Jonsson blasts BBC for axing cheerleaders from reboot: ‘Is it wokery?’

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Gladiators’ host Ulrika Jonsson has blasted the BBC for axing cheerleaders from the rebooted series.
The 56-year-old TV presenter has questioned whether the BBC’s decision not to hire cheerleaders – who were a big part of the original show – for the upcoming revamped series is “some kind of wokery”.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she said: “It brought tears to my eyes because they have kept the music and the general feel of it so really, they have done a great job.
“But no cheerleaders! I just don’t understand it. I don’t know if it’s some kind of wokery?”
Ulrika has insisted cheerleaders took the show to “another level”, so she thinks it is a “shame” they will not be a part of the reboot.
She added: “The whole point, the cheerleaders brought such … they just brought another level and some depth it.
“And they were gorgeous and talented girls, we had such a lovely time together with them.
“They were so great and it’s just a shame … don’t know what the reasons are.”
Bradley Walsh and his son, actor Barney Walsh, are to co-host the BBC reboot, and ‘The Chase’ presenter recently revealed his wife and Barney’s mum, Donna Derby, used to choreograph the cheerleaders on the original series.
He recently told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Barney’s mum, my wife, used to choreograph all the cheerleaders and then subsequently became an associate producer on the show for all the boys that ran the show originally.
“I used to go down, I’d watch five weeks filming. It was great being there. And then Barney came along, and I used to walk Barney around in the pram around the arena floor, meet all the Gladiators.
“He must have been about one. And so it’s a whole family affair.”
But the publication revealed the new-look show will not include cheerleaders.
‘Gladiators’ initially ran for eight series from 1992 to 2000.

‘Not a decent person’ Ulrika Jonsson breaks silence on Sven-Goran Eriksson’s cancer diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Ulrika Jonsson has insisted she “doesn’t have anything to say” about Sven-Goran Eriksson after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer – but claimed he is “not a decent person”.
The 56-year-old TV presenter insisted she didn’t want to discuss the former England manager, who she had a fling with in 2002, after he revealed earlier this week he has “best case a year” to live after he was diagnosed with cancer.
In a now deleted post on her Instagram Stories of a throwback picture of herself, Ulrika wrote: “Look at me being all young all that. So. PSA. I don’t have anything to say about Sven. #nada. Not a decent person (sic)”
Ulrika’s comments come after Sven, 75 – who made history as the first foreign manager to lead the Three Lions – admitted this week it is “impossible” to say how long he might have left, so he is trying “not to think about it”.
He told Swedish radio station P1: “I’m going to resist for as long as I can.
“I have an illness that’s serious.
“Best case a year, I have worst case a lot less.
“It’s impossible to say exactly, so it’s better to not think about it.”
Sven – who guided England to the quarter-finals of the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, and 2004 European Championships – is attempting to “make something good” of the time he has left, and he wants to try to “see positives” amid his terminal diagnosis.
He said: “You try to trick the brain, it’s too easy to succumb and become negative and get stuck at home.
“Better to try and see positives and not give in during hard times.”

Paddy McGuinness’ Tempting Fortune ‘looks set to be renewed for new series’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness looks set to return for a second season of ‘Tempting Fortune’.
The 50-year-old TV presenter fronted the first season of the Channel 4 programme last year, which sees 12 daring contestants trek across the wilds of South Africa with only basic survival equipment in a bid to win a share of the £300,000 prize, and now, a second season could be on the cards.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “He’ll be breathing a deep sigh of relief that ‘Tempting Fortune’ did well when it first aired and that it’s been deemed worthy of a sequel.
“Notably, it also saw him come full circle by returning to Channel 4, which is where his career started out on comedy ‘Phoenix Nights’.
“But it remains to be seen where and when any second series of ‘Tempting Fortune’ ends up airing.”
Previously, Paddy – who is known for hosting the likes of ‘Take Me Out’ and starring in his pal Peter Kay’s sitcom ‘Phoenix Nights’ – presented BBC’s ‘Top Gear’ alongside Chris Harris and Freddie Flintoff, but the programme was paused indefinitely after the England cricketer was involved in a life-threatening accident while filming the show.
In a statement, the BBC said: “We’ve agreed with BBC Content that given the exceptional circumstances, we will be resting production of the Top Gear UK show for the foreseeable future.”
The BBC did however suggest the programme would return at a later date.
They continued: “We’ll continue to support the programme’s core production team and will be leaning on their expertise in a broader production capacity until such time as the UK show can restart.”

‘We understand each other!’ Sue Perkins and Anna Richardson still good friends despite split

OHMYGOSSIP — Former couple Sue Perkins and Anna Richardson are still good friends, despite splitting up.
The pair went their separate ways in 2021 after seven years of dating, but former ‘Great British Bake Off’ host Sue, 54, has revealed she and ‘Naked Attraction’ presenter Anna, 53, have “repurposed” their former love for one another “into a friendship”.
While appearing as a guest on Anna’s podcast ‘It Can’t Just Be Me’, Sue said: “We didn’t speak for a long time, to sort of detonate the parts that were familiar to grow new things.
“We’d gone to see someone when things were difficult, and they said, ‘Don’t do history lessons’ like back-tracking about things in the past that were inflammatory.
“We can forgive and, in time, all that love can be repurposed into a friendship.”
Anna admitted an important quality the pair share is that they “understand each other”.
She added: “Ultimately, our core is love and really good fun, and we understand each other.”
Last year, Sue insisted she was an “idiot” when it comes to love after splitting from Anna.
She told the ‘Crushed’ podcast: “I was in a very long-term happy thing, and obviously, we grew out of it, I guess.
“With me, it always ends in an exactly seven-year relationship. Yes, it’s weird. It’s between six-and-a-half and eight usually. I’m an idiot.
“I’m a serial monogamist. I’m always in a relationship, so it doesn’t matter who I fancy, I’m with the person I’m with, and I want to be good to them – I’m not a philanderer.”

Peter Capaldi won’t return to Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Capaldi won’t return to ‘Doctor Who’.
The 65-year-old actor played the Twelfth Doctor in the BBC show from 2013 until he handed the reigns over to Jodie Whittaker in 2017.
Since leaving the part, Peter has gone on to star in hard-hitting TV programmes, such as Apple’s upcoming ‘Criminal Record’, where he plays the terrifying villain Daniel Haggerty, and he has now insisted he will not reprise his role as the titular Time Lord.
When asked in an interview with Forbes if he would pick up the Sonic Screwdriver again, Peter said: “No. I’m a long-standing Doctor Who fan from being a kid.
“Haggerty is the same age as me, so maybe he watched Doctor Who, too. He’s of that era.
“I like the idea that my Doctor is still out there. He’s not available to come and be on TV. The real Doctor is not on TV, the real Doctor is out there.”
Peter thought the ‘Who’ Christmas special, which saw David Tennant and Catherine Tate return to the series as the beloved Time Lord and Donna Noble, was “wonderful” and “full of life”.
He said: “I enjoyed it. I thought it was great and a lot of fun.
”It was wonderful, exuberant, and full of life, drama, and monsters. David was wonderful, and Catherine Tate, of course.
“It’s ‘Doctor Who’, you know, it’s a gas and a good thing in the world. It’s a nice, fun, exciting thing, and I look forward to the rest of the specials and Ncuti Gatwa coming along. I’ve met him, and he’s very inspiring and charming.”
Despite closing the door on the sci-fi show, Peter admitted he would be happy to return to the DC cinematic universe to work with the studio’s creative head James Gunn, with whom he worked with on the 2021 movie, ‘The Suicide Squad’.
He said: “Of course, I would, absolutely.
“James was lovely; I loved working with him. He creates such a great atmosphere on set and is such a nice person to work with. I honestly think James is gifted, clever, and sharp, but I sometimes feel like he’s making a film in his garage.
“He feels like a guy who would go off at the weekend and make these films because he has such enthusiasm and sincerity about them.”

Charlie Clapham returning to Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Clapham is returning to ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 32-year-old actor was last seen in the village as Freddie Roscoe in 2017 but he’s set to make a comeback this spring and he’s “extremely grateful and excited” to be returning to the show.
He said in a statement: “I’m extremely grateful and excited to be reprising a role that means so much. Get READY for FREDDIE.”
Charlie’s exit storyline saw his alter ego go on the run after attacking Nick Savage in a fit of rage after his rival raped Freddie’s on/off girlfriend Ellie Nightingale, and the actor confirmed fans will eventually get some heavy hints as to what his character has been up to for the last seven years.
Asked if viewers will find out what Freddie has been up to, he told Metro.co.uk: “Yeah, there will be some exposition along with some drip-feeding along the way. Also, some of it will be left to the imagination a bit too, some things are best left unsaid.
“But, what a great vehicle, they’ve got about seven years to dip into and the writers have been excited by what’s coming up. He’s got so much history, there are plenty of relationships very much alive and active – it’s not going to be quiet.”
And Charlie suggested most of the village won’t be too happy to see Freddie back on the scene.
He said: “From what I’ve read so far, there’s only really one person who knows he’s back on the scene in terms of the initial reaction.
“I don’t know what I did first time round, but afterwards everyone seems to either be annoyed, p***** off, scared – he got up to so much in those four years first time round. He’s just hassle and trouble.”
The actor was concerned any comeback could “ruin” his alter ego but he’s happy with what producers have in store.
He said: “While I’ve been away, I did sometimes wonder what he’s been up to and fans always ask if I’d go back. So having a chat with casting and producers, they had a really strong idea of what they want to do with him.
“So, in all of his glory, it’s much the same but even worse! I’m really enjoying reading the scripts.
“That was a worry of mine ever going back – are they going to ruin him, what kind of storylines will there be. But it looks like they’re throwing the kitchen sink at it, it’s really cool.”

Holly Willoughby ‘approached by Netflix to host new Bear Grylls jungle-based show’

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby is said to have been approached by Netflix for a new jungle-based series.
The former ‘This Morning’ presenter – who will make her TV return on Sunday (14.01.24) when she co-hosts ‘Dancing on Ice’ again, after quitting the brunch-time show in October – is thought to be wanted by the streaming giant to front a new show, which will star explorer Bear Grylls.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Bear is working with a production company for Netflix. They want Holly to host.
“A group of celebrities will be put into a jungle where they will have to tackle a series of challenges.”
In the series, contestants are expected to be pitted against Bear.
The source added: “If they lose, they’ll have to pit their wits against Bear, who will be hunting them down.
“It’s a really exciting concept and Bear is totally on board. Now they have Holly in their sights to host it.
“She is very glamorous and an accomplished host.
“Holly is open to offers. She won’t be rushing into anything and will be carefully cherry-picking her next projects.”
Should Holly take on the job, it wouldn’t be her first time presenting in the jungle, after she co-hosted one series of ITV’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2018 alongside Declan Donnelly, temporarily taking the place of Dec’s regular co-presenter Ant McPartlin.
Holly quit ‘This Morning’ in October, following the discovery of an alleged plot to kidnap her, but she is to make her small screen return on Sunday when she returns to present the ice-skating show alongside new co-host Stephen Mulhern.
The ‘Catchphrase’ host has replaced Phillip Schofield, who quit ITV last year after admitting he lied to bosses of the brunchtime show about an “unwise, but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague.
Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, recently confirmed Holly will return to the show alongside Stephen.
She said: “Holly and Stephen are two of our best loved presenters, so reuniting them 20 years after they first appeared on screen together to host ‘Dancing on Ice’ marks the start of an exciting year for the show.
“Celebrating 20 years since they first worked together on ‘Ministry of Mayhem’, Willoughby and Mulhern will preside over the action on the high octane skating show as this year’s celebrities compete to become champion of the ice.
“Judges Torvill and Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse are back on the panel.”

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss reveal further detail of their planned Star Wars story

OHMYGOSSIP — David Benioff and D.B. Weiss wanted to explore the origins of the Jedi Order in their cancelled ‘Star Wars’ movie.
The former ‘Game of Thrones’ showrunners were announced in 2019 to be making a series of films in the space saga but ultimately stepped away, blaming their hectic schedules, and they’ve now shed some light on the first installment of their planned project.
Benioff told The Hollywood Reporter: “We wanted to do ‘The First Jedi’. Basically how the Jedi Order came to be, why it came to be, the first lightsaber …”
Their involvement was announced before the final installment of the main ‘Star Wars’ saga was released and they joked they were “annoyed as hell” when their friend Rian Johnson revealed ‘Episode IX’, which he directed, would be called ‘The Last Jedi’.
Weiss added: “And we were annoyed as hell when [Rian] called his movie ‘The Last Jedi’. He completely destroyed the obvious title for what we were working on.”
Although they cited their schedules at the time, the writer-producer duo admitted Lucasfilm simply didn’t want to run with their “very specific” idea.
Asked what went wrong, Benioff said: “[Lucasfilm] ended up not wanting to do a First Jedi story.
“We had a very specific story idea in mind, and ultimately they decided they didn’t want to do that. And we totally get it. It’s their company and their IP, but we weren’t the droids they were looking for.”
When the duo announced they had stepped away from their planned saga, they admitted they had done so with regret, but simply didn’t have enough time to devote to the project.
In a statement, the pair said: “We love ‘Star Wars’. When George Lucas built it, he built us too.
“Getting to talk about ‘Star Wars’ with him and the current Star Wars team was the thrill of a lifetime, and we will always be indebted to the saga that changed everything.
“But there are only so many hours in the day, and we felt we could not do justice to both ‘Star Wars’ and our Netflix projects. So we are regretfully stepping away.”
Meanwhile, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy heaped praise on Benioff and Weiss, while insisting the studio would welcome them back in the future.
She added: “David Benioff and Dan Weiss are incredible storytellers. We hope to include them in the journey forward when they are able to step away from their busy schedule to focus on ‘Star Wars.’ ”
