Michelle Keegan wanted to quit Coronation Street for 2 years

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan toyed with the idea of quitting ‘Coronation Street’ for two years.
The 29-year-old actress – who portrayed Tina McIntyre in the long-running soap for six years – first thought about bowing out of the programme in 2012 but eventually took the leap in 2014 after realising she would be plagued with regret otherwise.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw’ on Wednesday (07.09.16), she said: “It took me two years to decide to leave and I didn’t want to look back and say what if. I could have stayed at ‘Corrie’ for the rest of my life but I thought the reason I got into acting was to try new roles so I just made the decision and I [Tina] got killed [off] and I thought, ‘Well, there’s no going back now.’ ”
And, although soaps regularly bring characters back from the dead, the brunette beauty is adamant Tina will not be gracing the cobbles any time soon.
She explained: “She’s definitely not going back. But in a way it helped me … I have to audition all the time but I like the buzz about it. But now I’m a free agent again, I don’t know what I’m doing next and I need to go to auditions. I hate auditions, they’re really horrible but it’s part of the process.”
Michelle has just finished shooting the forthcoming period drama ‘Bobby and Tina’, which is based on the life of England and West Ham footballer Bobby Moore and his wife Tina, and decided to dye her hair blonde for the role.
She said: “I did it purely for a role for a new ITV drama called ‘Tina and Bobby’ and it’s about the legend Bobby Moore and I play his wife Tina … It took two days [to dye blonde]. I had to bleach it four times, I was paranoid it was going to fall out but I just went for it … It did help and I think I never would have gone blonde in my life.”
Meanwhile, although the actress is now on the hunt for a new acting gig, she is desperate to sink her teeth into another gritty drama like ‘Our Girl’.
Michelle – who plays Lance Corporal Georgie Lane in the new war series – said: “I’d love to do action again … I like all the gritty stuff. Obviously in ‘Our Girl’ I couldn’t wear any make up and I had to walk around with greasy hair for days.”
‘Our Girl’ sees Michelle passionately lock lips with Luke Pasqualino – who plays Special Forces officer Elvis Harte – and Royce Pierreson (Doctor Jamie Cole) in the first episode but she has admitted her husband Mark Wright doesn’t mind.
She said: “To be fair, he was reading the scripts with me so he knew what was going to happen. I think because I was in ‘Corrie’ and my character Tina went with a few men so he’s used to it … He’s fine with it. He didn’t actually mention it, I think because we’ve been together for so long, he’s not bothered anymore.”

Vicky Pattison quits Loose Women

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison has quit ‘Loose Women’.
The 28-year-old beauty only joined the popular lunchtime panel show nine months ago but she has now decided to turn her back on the ITV programme in order to explore other things.
Taking to her Twitter account on Wednesday (07.09.16), the outspoken reality TV star wrote: “I’ve loved my time on @loosewomen but … It was only a summer contract and now I’m having some time off before I start some big & exciting projects this Autumn! My relationship with all the @loosewomen, the team and @ITV is still great … I’m sure I’ll pop back to see the ladies again! (sic)”
Although Vicky is remaining tight lipped on the projects she’s got coming up, she recently confirmed she’s been in talks with ITV bosses about the possibility of hosting the spin-off show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! NOW!’.
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star – who won the last series of the main show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ in December – said recently: “I would snatch their hands off, I really would [if I was offered the role]. There have been names thrown around. There are talks but nothing is confirmed.”
However, if Vicky does get the gig Down Under, the news will unlikely sit well with her former ‘Loose Women’ panellist Katie Price as the former glamour model is keen to helm the programme alongside her ex-husband Peter Andre.
The 38-year-old star – who met and fell in love with Peter when they were competing on the main show in 2004 – took to her Twitter account recently to write: “I would sooo present this how cool if me and Pete did it. (sic)”
Meanwhile, bosses’ frantic search for a new host comes after Laura Whitmore – who had fronted the late-night chatty programme since 2011 – announced earlier this year that she is turning her back on the programme after five “incredible years” at the helm in order to spread her wings.

Doctor Who to air in April 2017

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Doctor Who’ is set to return to screens next April.
Peter Capaldi will reprise his role as the iconic Time Lord for the 10th series of the popular sci-fi series later this year and is confident the next installment will be ready to air on the small screen within the next seven months.
The 58-year-old actor – who joined the show three years ago – told a fan: “We’ll be on at Christmas [for a special] and then it [the next series] starts again April, I think.”
However, for now, the cast are busy working on the festive special and the screenwriter and producer Steven Moffat is confident the one-off will be jam packed with fun.
Speaking on BBC’s ‘Newsbeat’, he said: “We’ve just started working on the Christmas episode. It’s got a lot of heart, but it’s got a lot of brain too. Figure that one out.”
Meanwhile, details on the forthcoming series are being kept tightly under wraps for the time being but it’s already been confirmed that David Suchet – who played Hercule Poirot in the crime drama ‘Poirot’ – will guest appear.
The 70-year-old actor will portray The Landlord but it’s not yet known whether his alter ego will be a friend or enemy of the time-travelling scientist.
Michelle Gomez – who plays Missy, also known as The Doctor’s nemesis The Master – also recently admitted she’s not sure if she will reprise her role for the next series.
She previously said: “I just don’t know. I mean, I don’t even know if she’s coming back this season to be honest.
“As a freelancer which is what I am, I try to bag the next job, do it as well as I can and then move on to the next one.”

Sarah Lancashire to return to Happy Valley

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Lancashire will return to ‘Happy Valley’.
The 51-year-old actress recently said she didn’t want to reprise her role as Catherine Cawood in the crime drama when it bounds back onto screens for a third series as she felt the story was dead and done, but it seems she’s had a change of heart as she’s agreed to do one more installment.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “I thought we’d already had the end but Sally [Wainwright, writer] feels there is a very final ending needed for the show and for Catherine. There is going to be a very big full-stop to the piece.”
Sarah’s dramatic U-turn comes just after she was crowned Best Actress – for her role in the drama – at the TV Choice Awards in London on Monday (05.09.16) night.
And, although she’s keen to reprise her role as the tough-talking police sergeant, she doesn’t yet know when the next series will hit screens as nothing has been set in stone.
She explained: “It’s just an idea at the moment. Sally has told us she wants to write another series, which will be the final one. We don’t know when it will happen.”
Meanwhile, although Sally is yet to sit down and take pen to paper, it’s believed the next series will see Sergeant Catherine – who is still grieving over her dead daughter – contemplate leaving the corrupt police force as she continues to protect her fragile grandson Ryan (Rhys Conna) from his rapist father Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) – who is serving time in prison for allegedly raping the officer’s daughter – and his conniving girlfriend.

Jenna Coleman behind Steven Moffat's Doctor Who exit?

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Moffat has hinted Jenna Coleman made him quit ‘Doctor Who’.
The showrunner was left “heartbroken” when the 30-year-old beauty – who played the Time Lord’s companion Clara Oswald for three years on the BBC sci-fi series – decided to leave at the end of last year to focus on her new role in ‘Victoria’ and felt he could no longer continue without the brunette beauty, Matt Smith and Karen Gillian on the show.
He said: “We miss her [Jenna], of course we miss her but I’m thrilled she’s doing so brilliantly with ‘Victoria’
“Of course we miss her but the list of people I now miss is so long.
“I think that’s why I have to go before I get my heart broken again. Matt’s gone, Karen’s gone, Jenna’s gone, so it’s sad.”
The 54-year-old screenwriter was full of praise for Jenna and said no one else has played the part like she has.
He told the Daily Express newspaper: “She’s just about as different [to Clara] as can be really. She brings out a very different side of the Doctor, and asks the questions that no one’s bothered to ask for the past 52 years. She’s great!”
Steven – who has been scriptwriter on the show on-and-off since it returned in 2005 – will leave ‘Doctor Who’ after the 10th series, which is expected to air in April 2017, and will hand the reins to Chris Chibnall.
