Kate Hudson found it 'really fun' working opposite her step-father Kurt Russell

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson has found it “really fun” working with her step-dad Kurt Russell in ‘Deepwater Horizon’.
The 37-year-old American actress, who plays the role of Felicia Williams in the new disaster thriller film based on the real-life oil rig disaster of 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico, has admitted she enjoyed shooting scenes with her relative who was cast as Jimmy Harrell, although she didn’t think the production team realised their connection.
Speaking to chat show host Lorraine Kelly on her breakfast show ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (27.09.16) about the cast, the blonde beauty – who is the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson – said: “As much of a fan as I am and as much as I admire him as an actor I am able to separate it. They hired us, or asked if we would do it, it was sort of simultaneous and I always wondered like, did it even hit them … because usually people [make the connection] with mom, my mom is Goldie [Hawn] you know and it was really fun for us to be in a working environment together.”
Hudson – who stars appear onscreen alongside Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O’Brien and John Malkovich in the movie – has admitted having a healthy relationship with her father has helped her to develop her wisdom.
She explained: “I don’t know if it’s advice as much as it is parenting, as you get older I think it’s just talking about your life isn’t it? Any parent/child healthy relationship is going to impart wisdom.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Fool’s Gold’ star has revealed it felt good paying tribute to the people who worked on the oil rig and risked their lives.
Speaking about her new film, she said: “We all know it was just a horrendous environmental catastrophe that is still relevant. There were all so many wonderful people on this rig that were going to work every day and paying the bills and doing a very high risk job, that was a horrible accident and it was nice to pay homage to them. With this we all know what the outcome was but when you’re watching the movie you get so involved in it because all of a sudden you feel like you are there.”

Jodie Foster will receive this year's Stanley Kubrick Britannia award for Excellence in Film

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Foster is set to receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia award for Excellence in Film at this year’s ceremony.
The 53-year-old actress will be honoured for her “trailblazing career” and will pick up the prestigious award at this year’s ceremony, which will take place on October 28 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, after she has spent a successful 50 years at the helm of the film industry.
And Foster has been handpicked as the deserving recipient of the award because it has been 40 years since she filmed the 1976 hits ‘Taxi Driver’ and the comedy musical ‘Bugsy Malone’, which saw her play the entertainer Tallulah.
Speaking about Foster’s upcoming accolade, which was announced in a statement on Monday (26.09.16), the chairman of BAFTA Los Angeles, Kieran Breen, said: “It seems fitting that in this 40th Anniversary year of both ‘Taxi Driver’ and ‘Bugsy Malone,’ we are honouring Jodie’s remarkable trail-blazing career at the Britannia Awards.2
However, it is not only Foster’s acting skills, which have made her a worthy winner but her ability to direct a number of movies as well.
Speaking about the reason Foster – who made her directorial debut with ‘Little Man Tate’ in 1991 – was selected for the award, Breen said: “It takes a rare and special talent to launch an international career with two amazingly different performances, and Jodie’s choices as an actor and director have continued to earn a deserved reputation as one of the most versatile professionals of our time.”
The ‘Taxi Driver’ star will follow in the footsteps of directors Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg and actors George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr. and the ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ star Meryl Streep who have previously gained the title.

Andrea McLean discharged from hospital after hysterectomy

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrea McLean has been discharged from hospital following her hysterectomy.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist underwent the invasive operation, which removes all or part of the womb, last week due to “personal reasons” and she’s hopeful she’ll make a swift recovery from now on because she’s back at home.
Speaking in a video link on the lunchtime show on Tuesday (27.09.16), she said: “Hi everyone, I’m home now. I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your messages. I’m outside, I’m in my favourite place in the whole world, which is my porch so I’m sure that will help me get better very quickly. I’ll be watching.”
The 46-year-old journalist – who has son Finlay, 15, with her ex-husband Nick Green and daughter Amy, nine, with her estranged spouse Steve Toms – announced she was having the operation last Wednesday (21.09.16) and revealed she planned to take four weeks off in order to get back to full health.
She said at the time: “Just to let you know, don’t worry if you don’t see me for the next month or so. I’m actually going to be at home convalescing, as I’m having a hysterectomy tomorrow. Lots of personal reasons for that.”
Andrea had a cancer scare in 2012 when she found a large lump in her right breast and, although she initially decided to ignore the change in her bosom, she was later persuaded to see a doctor by one of her friends.
Her GP arranged a mammogram and it was later revealed that the lump was just harmless “fibrous tissue.”
The television presenter has always been very open about her health battles in the past and admitted earlier this year that she was “gripped” by postnatal depression for two years shortly after her daughter Amy’s birth in 2006.
She said: “I had postnatal depression for two years before I finally went to the doctors. It’s something I suffered from and hid. Now what’s really interesting is we’re all really talkative women and I’ve been working on this show for nine years now and I had it while I was on this show.
“A lot of people obviously see me and I’ve been in hair and makeup and I’m all professional and I do my job smiling, interacting, being interested and engaged but what I was doing was literally sobbing all the way home.”
A hysterectomy is a major operation carried out to treat conditions that affect the female reproductive system.
After all or part of the womb has been removed, the woman will no longer be able to have children naturally.

Lord Alan Sugar wants to do a Apprentice winners' show

OHMYGOSSIP — Lord Alan Sugar wants to do a show about the past winners of ‘The Apprentice’.
The 69-year-old business magnate has led a handful of young people to success over the years with the help of the on-going reality TV series, which sees entrepreneurs fight for a £250,000 investment from the billionaire to help kick start their own business, but he’s desperate for the BBC to create a programme for the winning candidates to prove how far they’ve come under his trusty wing.
Speaking at the press conference for the new series of ‘The Apprentice’ in London on Tuesday (27.09.16), he said: “They’re [the winners] all doing very well and they don’t get enough publicity, the BBC doesn’t get enough publicity over the real purpose of this show.
“The real reason why I do this, I enjoy watching these young people grow a business from scratch, which is what I did 50 years ago.
“And that’s why I get a great buzz out of it. For example, Ricky Martin [the winner of 2012’s series] has about 25 people working for him, Tom [Pellereau, who won in 2011] has got eight or nine people working for him. And Mark [wright, winner in 2014] has got about 30 people working for him. Leah [Totton, who won in 2013] has got two clinics now and Joseph [Valente, who won last year] is just starting. And they all take time to build up. It’s all great and I wish they got a little more publicity about it …
“Some of these people, their lives have changed. They’ve built houses, most of them have got married, got families, they’ve got security and they’re employing people and they’ve turned into great business people.
“I think the BBC need to do something like a programme on where they are now and what they’re doing now because it’ll show the great service that the programme is actually performing for young people, to inspire them.”
The next series of ‘The Apprentice’ will return to screens next Thursday (06.09.16) on BBC One at 9pm as 18 fresh-faced candidates fight to prove they’re worthy of Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment and, in turn, press on with their business plan.

Margot Robbie's career highlight is working with Martin Scorsese

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie’s career highlight was working with Martin Scorsese on ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
The 26-year-old actress – who played Leonardo DiCaprio’s on-screen wife Naomi Lapaglia, which was based on Nadine Caridi, in the biographical comedy crime film – has admitted starring in the 2013 film and being directed by the 73 year old has been the best moment in her career so far because he treated her like “an equal”.
Speaking about her favourite working moment to Vogue.co.uk, she said: “Probably working with Martin Scorsese is pretty high up there. The first chat I had with Marty on set he really spoke to me as an equal. It wasn’t like: ‘Oh she’s the new kid on the block, let me impart some knowledge’. He was conversing with me like a colleague he’s had for 25 years. When he was asking me about films he wasn’t presuming I hadn’t seen them because I was young. He was like: ‘You know that German film that was made in the Twenties?’. And I was like: ‘How on earth would I know?’ but that meant the world to me that he showed me a similar respect to that he’d show people he had worked with for decades.”
Meanwhile, the Australian-born star – who has been living in London with her boyfriend Tom Ackerley for three years – has admitted she misses her home town down under and would like to go back to visit her friends and family, although her busy schedule makes it difficult for her to get enough time off.
The ‘Suicide Squad’ star explained: “[Australia] is a totally different lifestyle. It’s just like everyone imagines Australia – it’s so outdoorsy. I miss waking up and being like: ‘What are we going to do today? Let’s go out to the rock pools or let’s go to the beach or ooh, someone’s having a farm party!’ And I miss the weather for sure. The sun, but I also miss the thunderstorms – in the summer, every afternoon there’s a wicked thunderstorm.
“I don’t get to go back as much as I’d like – it’s just so hard to get the time off. Sometimes I’ll go for one day – so a day of flying, one day there, a whole day back – but now I’m getting a little older I am not bouncing back from that journey as easily.”

Jai Courtney wants to appear in The Flash

OHMYGOSSIP — Jai Courtney wants to appear in ‘The Flash’ film as Captain Boomerang.
The 30-year-old actor portrayed the supervillain in ‘Suicide Squad’ in the anti-hero blockbuster which also starred Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Will Smith as Deadshot and featured a brief cameo from Ezra Miller as super-fast superhero The Flash.
Rumours have circulated that Boomerang could be an adversary for Barry Allen’s alter ego in the upcoming standalone movie and Jai is very keen to increase his appearances in the DC Extended Universe as criminal George ‘Digger’ Harkness, who is a regular foe of The Flash in the DC Comics series.
When asked about reports he is to star in ‘The Flash’, Jai coyly said: “Is that the rumour? I like that rumour, I like that a lot.”
Although ‘Suicide Squad’ performed well at the box office it received less than favourable reviews from many critics.
However, Jai insists he is very pleased with how the movie appeared on the big screen and has praised director David Ayer for taking the risky decisions he did on the project and he hopes everyone gets back together for a sequel.
In an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused! podcast, the Australian hunk said: “How do you please everyone? I don’t think ‘Suicide Squad’ ever intended to. No one’s setting out to upset the fan base, certainly not a fan base that can be as loyal as this kind of crowd can. But I don’t know how you can push the envelope or try and protect something … I know what I like in a movie, and it’s not the same thing as my 12-year-old niece. It’s a challenge, and David did an incredible job, and I sure as hell hope we get to make another one with him.”
Jai also took a swipe at DC’s comic book rival Marvel insisting the reason why the Marvel Studios movies are so well received is because they’ve now had years of experience building the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whereas DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures are just beginning to increase the characters that appear on the big screen after traditionally sticking to Batman and Superman movies.
He said: “They’ve [Marvel] had the time to let that s**t marinate. Everything’s established now, we don’t have to figure out who anyone is. It’s like, ‘Cool. Get them all together and let’s have a f***ing orgy and make a billion dollars.’ ”
Shooting is due to start on ‘The Flash’ film in January 2017 and will follow-on from the events of the ‘Justice League’ movie.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Kasaei is set to return to ‘Geordie Shore’ next month.
The 26-year-old reality star – who left the popular MTV show in 2013 – will make her comeback on the programme in series 13, which will see her join the only remaining original cast member Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle as well as Aaron Chalmers and Marnie Simpson as they tour around Europe’s party hot spots including Spain’s Magaluf, Ibiza as well as Kavos and Ayia Napa.
Sophie’s return comes after she left the show in series seven following allegations she had made a racial slur, however the blonde beauty has admitted she is eager to be reunited with her housemates after three years.
Speaking previously, a source close to the star said: “Sophie can’t wait to return to ‘Geordie Shore’, it’s a dream come true for her!

OHMYGOSSIP — Children In Need are to stage a special concert in honour of Sir Terry Wogan.
A number of artists including Take That, Ellie Goulding, Olly Murs, Gregory Porter, Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Rick Astley, Alexander Armstrong, The Vamps and Ward Thomas will take to the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 1 to pay tribute to the late broadcaster, and the charity’s life president, following his death from cancer in January.
Fearne Cotton and Greg James will host the evening of entertainment and are delighted to be involved.
Speaking about the concert, Fearne said: “It has been an honour working with Sir Terry across the years on Children in Need and it’s a privilege to be hosting Rocks in celebration of his life. It’s going to be a very special evening with some great artists performing some of his favourite tracks.”
Greg added: “It’s a privilege to host Rocks alongside Fearne. Sir Terry was, in my eyes, the ultimate broadcaster. A friend to millions on his radio show and a hero to millions more through his work with Children in Need. It’s an absolute honour to be asked to be part of the concert. It’s going to be a brilliant night.”

Robert Bathurst believes he is 'underused and underrated'

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Bathurst feels his acting is “underused and underrated”.
The 59-year-old ‘Cold Feet’ actor – who was cast as management consultant David Marsden in the popular ITV programme for five series and has returned to the show this month after 13 years – has admitted he doesn’t feel he is valued in the industry and believes he could be cast as the lead role in more shows.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine, he said: “There are times when I feel underused and underrated. In the early 1990s, in the annual round-up, someone referred to me as the most underrated actor.
“As a self-employed performer, you can’t be content – you’ve always got to be on the look-out and have a slightly beady attitude to where you might be going next and what you should be doing – and a sense of your own worth, because if you don’t have it, well …”
However, Robert – who starred in the period drama ‘Downton Abbey’, which saw him play widower Sir Anthony Strallan – has revealed the feeling is mutual in the industry and feels reassured when he meets other professionals who are “gnarly” about the roles they play.
He explained: “But then I’ve never met anyone in the profession of any standing who isn’t a bit gnarly about what parts they could have done.”
Meanwhile, Robert – who has four daughters Matilda, Clemency, Oriel and Honor with his wife of 31 years Victoria Threlfall – has revealed, unlike his on-screen character in ‘Cold Feet’, he has “never” had a mid-life crisis because he has not had anything to lose.
Speaking about his similarities with the characters he has played, he said: “I didn’t have a mid-life crisis in my own life because I’ve never been cool, so I never had anything to lose from that point of view.”

Daisy Ridley joins James Corden in Peter Rabbit movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley has joined the cast of ‘Peter Rabbit’ alongside James Corden.
The 24-year-old actress – famous for playing Rey in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ – is to provide a voice for one of the characters in the live action CGI animation crossover in Sony’s Columbia Pictures upcoming movie based on Beatrix Potter’s classic children’s books.
It is not yet known which character Ridley will portray, but Corden has been confirmed as the voice of the titular bunny.
Other confirmed cast members are Rose Byrne, who will voice a character named Bea, and The Night Manager’s Elizabeth Debicki.
Production is due to start in January with the cast heading to Sydney, Australia, to make the movie with American director Will Gluck.
The project is being produced by Animal Logic, who are also responsible for ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ and ‘The Lego Ninjago Movie’.
Zareh Nalbandian, chief executive of Animal Logic, is tipping ‘Peter Rabbit’ to become a favourite of kids and adults all over the world.
He said: “There are so many great characters in Beatrix Potter’s books that we’ll just be scratching the surface for what we can do. It’s a big film that will be more than a two-year endeavour for us from go to whoa.”
The film will centre on the traditional feud between Peter and the McGregor family as the hungry bunny raids the farmers’ vegetable garden.
Tom Weldon, CEO of Penguin Random House UK, said: “We at Penguin Random House UK are delighted to be working with Columbia Pictures. As custodians of Beatrix Potter’s brand and legacy, we are excited about the opportunity this production will bring to engage a whole new audience with the world of Beatrix Potter and one of her best-loved characters, the mischievous Peter Rabbit.”
Potter’s ‘Peter Rabbit’ books became an instant hit when they were picked up in 1902 by British children’s publisher Frederick Warne & Co and have gone to sell more than 150 million copies in 35 languages worldwide.
The film is scheduled for release in April 2018 and coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of author-and-illustrator Potter – who died in 1943 at the age of 77.

X Factor boy band Yes Lad thought Honey G was a prank

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ boy band Yes Lad thought fellow contestant Honey G was a prank.
The group – made up of Luke Gregory, Cian Gleeson, Sonny Hardman, Joel Healey, and Lewis Maxwell – couldn’t quite believe their eyes when they first met the 35-year-old rap artist during the Boot Camp stage of the competition, and have admitted they didn’t think she was a real contestant.
Speaking to website Digital Spy, Lewis said: “When we first met her and we were filming Boot Camp, we thought she was fake. She was all out there.”
Luke then added: “Because they [X Factor] play tricks on you, don’t they? She had a mic on her. Then we found out she was an act on the show. She is such a lovely woman – when you get to know her she is a really nice woman. There is no one like Honey G.”
Yes Lad got given a second chance on Sunday (25.09.16) after they were kicked off of the show by mentor Louis Walsh during his six chair challenge, but were later reinstated as a wild card.
Honey G was also kicked off the show after she failed to impress Sharon Osbourne, but after original hopeful Ivy Grace Paredes had to withdraw from the competition due to visa complications, the North West London rapper was drafted back in to take her place.
And now the boy band actually know who their fellow contestant is, they can’t wait to see what she does next.
Cian said: “She’ll do well. I’d love to see her in the charts in a year. It would be amazing. Imagine going to a Honey G concert in Wembley?! She was saying last night that she was the next Jay Z. Everyone loves her – she’s funny and she’s out there and it’s refreshing.”

Jack P Shepherd talks David Platt's revenge plan

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack P. Shepherd thinks David Platt will stop at nothing to get revenge for his wife’s murder – even if it kills him.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who recently signed a new contract with the soap – is plotting revenge against thuggish Macca (Gareth Berliner) because his brother Clayton, who stabbed Kylie Platt earlier this year, is in jail, and the 28-year-old actor has warned his alter ego plans to push things to the limits.
He said: “When David gets an idea in his head, he will not stop at anything until he has accomplished whatever he needs to or until the point where he is physically unable to do any more…for example dead.”
Upcoming scenes will see David lying in wait to see Macca in hospital, and he is a menacing presence as he waits for the brute to come out of surgery.
Jack told The Sun newspaper: “David knows exactly where Macca is in the hospital so he heads off there.
“I liked the scenes when David goes with flowers, chocolates and grapes, even telling the ward staff he is here to see his cousin Macca – but it’s clear he is up to something sinister.
“David waits all day for Macca to come out of theatre and there’s a great shot when Macca is wheeled out.
“The trolley pauses and there is a frame of David staring over an unconscious, oblivious Macca for a few seconds before the trolley is wheeled away again.
“David is there to kill.”
Though David promised Kylie (Paula Lane) on her deathbed that he’d be a good guy and look after their family, he knows there are risks involved in pursuing revenge but doesn’t care as he still feels he is fulfilling her wishes.
He said: “He made a promise that he would look after the kids and bring them up well but he also made a promise to Kylie that he would get revenge on the people who murdered her.
“David believes he is not breaking either promise because once he has killed Macca and he is dead himself, his children will be looked after by [his mother] Gail and [brother] Nick.”

Lord Alan Sugar and Karren Brady have 'lots of dinners'

OHMYGOSSIP — Lord Alan Sugar and Karren Brady have “lots of dinners and chats” even when they’re not filming ‘The Apprentice’.
The 47-year-old sporting executive has been the business magnate’s assistant on the show since 2010 but has admitted their friendship extends further than on screen.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “We have a lot of dinners and chats. Alan and I are both in the House Of Lords, so we see each other a lot there. He’s incredibly witty and there’s no end to the amount of laughs we have.”
The brunette beauty dishes out advice to contestants while they’re taking part in tasks on the show but is adamant no one tries to flirt with her to get the upper hand on the others.
Karren – who is married to football manager Paul Peschisolido, with whom she has two children daughter Sophia and son Paolo – she explained: “I don’t think I have the sort of aura that says come and flirt with me!
“I think that would work about as well as trying to flirt with Lord Sugar! I think Alan and I are the least flirtable people on TV!”
Meanwhile, Karren will appear back on screens next month as ‘The Apprentice’ returns for another series and she’s managed to lose weight without slaving away in a gym.
She said: “I stopped eating crap! I’ve been eating less and exercising more. It always happens when I’m on the show because we’re running around, so I just kept it up. I don’t go to the gym but I walk a lot. My weight has never been the focus of my existence. You won’t ever find me on a treadmill!”

Emily Blunt couldn't hide pregnancy from Justin Theroux

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt couldn’t hide her pregnancy from her ‘Girl on the Train’ co-star Justin Theroux.
The 33-year-old actress had kept quiet about expecting her second child during the early days of shooting the thriller, but her co-star was instantly suspicious when the British beauty – who give birth to daughter Violet in July, a younger sister for two-year-old Hazel – refused to perform a simple stunt that saw her jump up off the floor and run a short distance across the room.
Justin recalled: “She was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t think I’d be sitting on the floor. I think I’d be leaning against the counter.’
“We were like, ‘No, it makes total sense for you to be sitting on the floor. And then you just get up and run.’ She was like, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna do that. I’m gonna twist my hip or something.’ ”
The 45-year-old star told Emily he didn’t understand why she would refuse the basic stunt when he had previously seen her “throwing Tom Cruise across the room [in ‘Edge of Tomorrow’] and going toe-to-toe with Benicio Del Toro [in ‘Sicario’].”
And the ‘Leftovers’ star – who is married to Jennifer Aniston – had his suspicions confirmed later in the day when he witnessed Emily turning down alcohol.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Later that day, we went back to my place and she was not having a cocktail and I asked, ‘Are you pregnant?’ And she was like, ‘Shhh!!’ And we had a big hug over that.
“It was a little secret we had to keep for a while until it became obvious.”
Luke Evans, who also stars in the movie, previously revealed Emily – who is married to John Krasinski – had warned him about her pregnancy just minutes before they were due to shoot a fight scene.
He recalled: “In this scene there was a kerfuffle and just before we were about to do it, she leaned in and whispers, ‘I’m four months pregnant.’ I was like, ‘What?’ She said, ‘I’m four months pregnant.’
“She decided to tell me at that moment so I think I was one of the first ones to find out. But she had to tell me, I was about to throw her around the room, I was like, ‘Cheers Em!’ But she was a pro and didn’t let it affect her.”
