Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a tale of 'friendship'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ is a tale of “friendship” rather than romance, according to Felicity Jones.
The 32-year-old-star has been cast as Jyn Erso in the spin-off movie and revealed the plot will centre on the camaraderie between the “motley crew” of rebel fighters.
Asked if her character has a love interest, she said: “Not … (pauses) There’s a lot of love between all of them! “Because they’re a group of rebels, it’s more rooted in friendship and finding a cause they all join in together, because they’re this motley crew who band together to steal plans for the death star.”
Jyn is a “streetwise” character who takes centre stage among the fighters and Jones hopes she portrayed her “thick skin” but also her human side.
She told Metro newspaper: “She’s had a difficult past. She’s someone who’s had experience. She’s pretty streetwise and she has thick skin. But I didn’t want her to be without her idiosyncrasies. Maybe sometimes she makes mistakes but ultimately I hope there’s a real humanity to her.”
The actress – who was most recently seen in ‘Inferno’ opposite Tom Cruise’ – stars alongside an impressive cast that includes Diego Luna, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker and says working with the actors in their various costumes was “bizarre”.
She said: “It was really good fun! Being able to work with your fellow actors being these bizarre-looking many tentacled creatures was a nice change.”

Will Young's Strictly Come Dancing pay cut

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Young has reportedly had his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pay cheque slashed from £25,000 to £5,000.
The ‘Leave Right Now’ singer threw the show into chaos earlier this week when he announced he had quit the competition, and now BBC bosses are said to only be paying him the small amount because he broke his contract.
An insider has also claimed that despite citing “personal reasons” for his decision to hang up his dancing shoes, producer reportedly feel he left because he didn’t think he could take home the glitterball trophy.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It became obvious that despite his huge dance background he was never going to be a contender because there are so many better celebs.
“The few previous contestants to go have quit because they’re injured or a family member has died – not because they feel they can’t win.”
The 32-year-old star will not be replaced on the show, despite viewers hoping Tameka Empson – who was eliminated last weekend – could return in his place.
A representative for ‘Strictly’ said: “The series will continue as planned with an elimination every week until the grand final. The previously eliminated contestants will not be returning to the competition.”
The former ‘Pop Idol’ winner’s shock exit came just two days after he locked horns with head judge Len Goodman over his Bollywood-inspired Salsa routine on Saturday (08.10.16).
The 72-year-old ballroom dancer thought the energetic display lacked the traditional dance moves of a Salsa, to which Will argued that his routine contained all 24 counts needed.
However, Len had the last word as he told Will to “show up, keep up, and shut up.”
Will’s departure has left his professional partner Karen Clifton “so sad” but she understands that he didn’t make the decision lightly and wishes him all the best for the future.
She wrote on Twitter: “I know it wasn’t an easy decision for him. It was great dancing with him, he was such fun to work with and I wish him all the very best for the future.”
His now-former competitors also rallied around him as they said they were “gutted” he had been forced to leave the competition.

Emma Watson wore fake teeth in scene for Harry Potter

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Watson had to wear fake teeth in a scene for the first ‘Harry Potter’ movie.
The 26-year-old actress – who shot to fame portraying Hermione Granger in the wizarding movie franchise – was instructed by the blockbuster’s director Chris Columbus to don the prop, but soon realised she wouldn’t be able to act for the rest of the movie wearing the false teeth.
Speaking on Entertainment Weekly’s new podcast Binge, the 58-year-old filmmaker revealed: “The thing we shot on the first day of ‘Sorcerer’s Stone’ was the final train sequence where Harry [Daniel Radcliffe] looks at Hogwarts and Emma, Dan and Rupert Grint are huddled outside of the train. It was a big thing in the books about [Hermione’s] teeth.
“She sort of had an overbite, so [Emma’s] wearing fake teeth in that scene. And I realised that she’s never going to be able to perform with these huge fake teeth in her mouth for the rest of the movie. So if you look closely, you can see some fake teeth.”
The blockbuster franchise – based on the books by British author J.K. Rowling – had intended to cast actors who weren’t as “good looking” as Emma, Daniel and Rupert.
The 51-year-old writer previously told titular lead star, Daniel: “To be honest, you and Rupert and Emma are all too good-looking. It was really lucky I spoke to Emma first on the phone before I met her. Because I fell absolutely in love with her … And then when I met her, and she was this very beautiful – which she still is, of course, beautiful girl, I just kind of had to go, ‘Ok. It’s film, you know, deal with it. I’m going to still see my gawky, geeky, ugly duckling Hermione in my mind.”

Scarlett Johansson wants Black Widow spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Johansson talks to Marvel about a standalone Black Widow movie “often”.
The 31-year-old actress is keen for her character to get her own spin-off movie but says it must happen soon because she won’t want to wear the Black Widow’s skin-tight catsuit forever.
Speaking to Variety, she said: “I talked to them about it often. It would have to fit in the idea of where they want to go. I’m invested in that character. Marvel is greatly invested in that character. If I did it, I’d have to do it while I still actually wanted to wear a skin-tight catsuit. I don’t know how much longer that’s going to be.
“I would like for it to happen under the right circumstances. I think there’s a lot of opportunity to mine that story line. She’s got a really rich origins story. There’s a lot of places you can go — you can bring it back to Russia. You could explore the Widow program. There’s all kinds of stuff that you could do with it. You could really uncover the identity of who this person is, where she comes from and where she’s part of.”
And while Scarlett would like to explore her character’s back story, she is also open to a movie about what happens post-Avengers.
She said: “It could be something else. Where do the Avengers go? They are underground. What happens then? What happens after it all falls apart? There are so many ways you can go. I think it would just have to be very much like its own specific thing. It would have to have its own specific vibe. It would have been totally different than any of the other standalone films. I think if the fans wanted it enough, then it would probably become a reality.”

Benjamina Ebuehi kicked off Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Benjamina Ebuehi has been kicked off ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The 23-year-old teaching assistant was booted from the quarterfinals of the BBC One baking competition after she failed to impress during Tudor week.
After her exit, she told cameras: “I knew it but, yeah. Quarterfinalist. I think once it sinks in, actually I’ve done something really really cool. To get this far in itself is an achievement so I’m really proud. I’m going to keep on baking. No marzipan, no Tudor, ever in my life, oh my gosh. But it’s so much fun being in there, it’s so much fun baking with everyone, and I think that’s the part I’m going to miss the most. It’s been really special.”
And whilst judge Paul Hollywood understood that Benjamina might have just been having a bad week, he insisted there was no room for slip ups going into the semi final.
He said: “Benjamina just said to me now ‘It wasn’t my week’. And I said ‘I know it wasn’t, but you can’t afford to slip up on ‘… Bake Off’.”
Elsewhere on the show, 31-year-old Candice Brown picked up the star baker accolade for the second time, after her showstopper – a 3D marzipan centrepiece in the shape of a peacock – wowed both Paul and fellow judge Mary Berry.
She said afterwards: “I proved a lot with that peacock. Who would’ve thought it? I proved a lot with a peacock? But I really did.”
Candice and the remaining three contestants – Andrew Smyth, Jane Beedle, and Selasi Gbormittah – will compete in the semi final next week, with the successful three making it to the all important ‘… Bake Off’ final.
Andrew said: “Amazing. Semi final? Yeah, crikey.”
‘The Great British Bake Off’ semi final will air on BBC One at 8pm on Wednesday October 19.

Stephanie Davis wants to do Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis would “love” to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ next year.
The 23-year-old actress has been watching her former ‘Hollyoaks’ co-star Danny Mac wow the judges week-in week-out with his impressive moves on the ballroom and latin show and that’s given her the determination to persuade bosses to give her a chance next series.
She explained: “I’ve also been watching my friend Danny Mac on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – he’s a good dancer! I did ‘Children In Need’ with him and I think he’ll go far. I’d love to do ‘Strictly…’ next year as I love dancing! That would be lovely to do.”
However, it’s highly unlikely the brunette beauty will be getting practice any time soon as she’s currently “waddling around” due to baby bump.
Writing in her column for OK! Online, she said: “I officially picked up my keys [to her new house] and the mayhem has started! I didn’t realise how stressful getting a new home would be. Everything has to be done in a certain order and you need things putting up etc so it’s really hectic at the moment. Being pregnant has made the whole thing a bit harder, especially now I’m waddling! I want to be able to get more hands on but instead I’m just sat there, eating crisps, and pointing!”
And, although she’s still got three months to go until she’s due to meet her little one, Stephanie already knows she’s going to miss her bump.
She said: “I know I have a few months to go yet but I already know I’m going to miss being pregnant. With him in my belly I feel so close to him. I feel extra safe and protected because he’s there with me all the time. Those kicks are so comforting but I feel like I’ll be constantly holding my stomach when he’s here – I’m going to really miss it.”
But the former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star doesn’t think it’ll be long before she starts trying for another baby after the birth of her son.
She explained: “One day, I would love to give him a brother or sister. I’d definitely have more, I want him to have someone to play with like I did with my three younger brothers. When the time is right I want to meet someone and have a nice family.”
Stephanie hasn’t had the easiest pregnancy so far as she’s been riddled with acute morning sickness and painful twinges.
Her nausea has finally settled down but doctors want to see her regularly for scans as her baby is measuring bigger than he should be.
She said: “I have another growth scan this Friday to see what’s going on in my belly. I’ll be having a few of these because my belly is bigger then it should be at this stage. I’m always nervous about these things because you just worry about everything when you’re pregnant. I hate it when they go quiet but everything should be fine.
“I get to see him again too which is really comforting after such a bad start to the pregnancy. After all those pains and the stress it’s nice to see him and keep an eye on him.”

Justin Theroux's Mute role

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Theroux has joined sci-fi thriller ‘Mute.
The 45-year-old actor is a late arrival to the movie, on which shooting has already commenced with director Duncan Jones helming the project.
At present Theroux’s role is unknown but he has been added to a cast which already includes Alexander Skarsgard and Paul Rudd.
The plot is set 40 years in the future on a rolling city of migrants and revolves around Skarsgard’s barman character Leo Beiler who is unable to speak due to a childhood trauma but goes in search of a missing girl in mid-21st century Berlin.
Previously speaking his inspiration for the movie, Jones – the son the late David Bowie and Angie Bowie – revealed Sir Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi epic ‘Blade Runner’ had been a big reference point.
The 45-year-old filmmaker said: “We are going to be shooting in Berlin. During the 1970s, with so much of the city still to rebuild, a lot of futuristic architecture was put up. It goes very dark, and then it also goes very darkly funny. It’s science-fiction urban, so it certainly owes some of its influence to ‘Blade Runner’. But in a way, the references to ‘Blade Runner’ are more superficial … Over the years I had some big, leaping ideas about what would make the film weirder and darker, So we future-fied it. It’s a thriller with a very weird tone … The two villains of the piece are what’s kept me wanting to do it since day one. Those characters are unique. You have not seen a pair like this.”

Pete Wicks was messaging 10 other girls

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Wicks had been sending saucy messages to at least 10 different girls behind Megan McKenna’s back.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ beauty was left heartbroken last week when the heavily-inked hunk’s ex-girlfriend Jacquai Ryland revealed he’d been having a kinky exchange with her via WhatsApp, but the 24-year-old star is adamant she’s seen far worst and already knew that her beau had been doing the dirty on her because she’d found texts on his phone previously.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Megan said: “I had a weird feeling in my stomach… Pete had been ‘off’ with me for about a week, it was my birthday coming up and we’d had a few rows because he made me feel like he hated me, so I looked in his phone.
“I never expected to find what I did. I didn’t just find one text, I found a lot… There were 10 different girls. There was one girl who caught my eye – it wasn’t Jacqui – and they had been texting non-stop for three months back and forth.
“She had been sending topless pictures of herself, and there was one where she was lying on her bed with her legs on show and me and Pete were on the TV in the background.
“I also found messages from Jacqui but there was only a few. I didn’t pay attention to her as I was focused on the others.”
However, the brunette babe decided to give her beau – who she has been dating for six months – another chance after he told her he didn’t find any of the girls he’d messaged “attractive.”
She explained: “Pete said he never found her or the other girls attractive. They didn’t look nice, they were all trampy and I remember thinking Jacqui looked filthy.”
As a way to prove how sorry he is, the 27-year-old star has changed his number, deleted a social media page and has given her full permission to keep a check on his other outlets.
Megan said: “I feel completely mugged off. I sat him down and made him tell me everything and he said, ‘You know I’d never do this again to you, I’ve f**ked up and made a mistake.”

Will Young's 'dandy' after Strictly Come Dancing exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Young feels “absolutely dandy” following his early exit from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 37-year-old singer – who was one of the favourites to lift the famous glitterball trophy at the end of the series – shocked the nation when he announced he had quit the ballroom and latin show due to “personal reasons”.
And, despite viewers speculating his on-screen feud with head judge Len Goodman over his energetic Salsa had something to do with his decision, Will is adamant his departure was “undramatic” and he’ll still support the show.
Speaking in a text message to Chris Evans, which the radio DJ read out live on air during his BBC Radio 2 ‘Breakfast Show’ on Wednesday (12.10.16), Will said: “Here’s the thing. I’m absolutely dandy, thanks. It’s all very undramatic, really. I’ve done my statement and others can say what they want to say. I never read what they say anyway. To be a part of ‘Strictly…’ has been a long time ambition of mine. As a performer, a viewer, and a fan of the show, to dance as a contestant was an experience I always hoped for.
“I have made some great friends, and am in awe of their performances week in, week out. I have found a creative partnership with Karen [Clifton, his professional partner] that has been the most wonderful thing to experience.”
It was initially thought Tameka Empson – who was eliminated last weekend – could take his place but bosses are adamant no one will be re-joining the series.
A representative for ‘Strictly…’ said: “The series will continue as planned with an elimination every week until the grand final. The previous eliminated contestants will not be returning to the competition.”
The ‘Leave Right Now’ hitmaker’s departure has left his professional partner Karen “so sad” but she understands that he didn’t make the decision lightly.
She wrote on Twitter shortly after the news broke: “I know it wasn’t an easy decision for him. It was great dancing with him, he was such fun to work with and I wish him all the very best for the future.”

Danielle Armstrong doesn't want to date Essex man

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Armstrong doesn’t want to date anyone from Essex.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star split from her on/off boyfriend James Lock last month following three years of dating and she’s now decided that she’s going to ban herself from striking up a romance with any other males from her hometown for now.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Wednesday (12.10.16), the blonde beauty said: “I’m now looking at branching outside Essex, anyone outside the Essex area give me a call!”
But, although her explosive relationship with James has put her off future love, the 28-year-old babe is adamant she and her ex-boyfriend are still friends and are really “good terms”.
She explained: “I’m really good. Me and James have had an on/off relationship for the last three years and I think we’ve probably bored the nation with us getting back together, are they on or off! But we are good. We’re in a good place. I think sometimes it’s best to just let go. We did try; we tried our best.”
Her opinion of men from Essex changed even more when she found out Pete Wicks – a close pal of James – had been cheating on her friend Megan McKenna last week.
And Danielle has admitted she was the person responsible for telling her co-star that the inked hunk had been sending saucy messages to string of other girls behind her back.
She revealed: “I kind of have to drop the bombshell to Megan about that this girl that had come out. Sometimes you don’t want everyone knowing about it and I respect her for that.”

Adam West: The Batman movies are too dark

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam West thinks the modern ‘Batman’ movies are too “dark”.
The 88-year-old actor portrayed The Caped Crusader in the iconic 1960s ABC ‘Batman’ TV series and 1966’s ‘Batman: The Movie’ and has voiced the DC Comics character in various animated projects and video games.
West’s adventures as the superhero on screen are famous for their humour and camp capers, and the acting legend is always disappointed with the brooding big screen interpretations of the character which have seen Christian Bale brood in ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy and Ben Affleck’s battle-weary Batman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
He said: “In the new movies Batman is very full of vengeance and has deep-seated angst and so on … They’re very dark.”
West was speaking at New York Comic-Con to promote his new animated film ‘Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders’, for which he is reunited with Burt Ward with both actors reprising their roles as Batman and Robin.
West is hopeful that the upcoming ‘Justice League’ film – set in the DC Extended Universe and featuring The Caped Crusader – and Affleck’s standalone ‘Batman’ movie will have some more humour in them.
He said: “Enough violence. Let the costume work for you. And put a little humour into it. I think it’s about time to relieve that all of that kind of attitude of vengeance and ‘I can’t take it anymore, I’m going home and I’m going to suck my thumb.’ ”
West isn’t the only star connected to the DC Universe to express disappointment with the tone of the new DC Comics films – made in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures.
Margot Kidder – who played Lois Lane in the four ‘Superman’ films which starred Christopher Reeve – criticised ‘Batman v Superman’ for wasting Amy Adams’ talents by giving her nothing to do as journalist Lois in the blockbuster.
Margot previously said: “They took one of the best American actresses around, Amy Adams, and didn’t give her anything to do.”

Leah Bracknell went out for lunch after cancer prognosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Leah Bracknell went out for lunch after she was told she was dying.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star – who was known for playing Zoe Tate – felt “angry” when she found out she had terminal lung cancer but didn’t let the prognosis affect her day as she and her partner decided to devour a tasty meal before visiting a peaceful bird sanctuary.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday (12.10.16), she explained what she did after receiving her prognosis: “I went out for lunch. I went for a very slow walk. I’m not going to lie, I had to sit down a lot.
“But when I was at the hospital with my partner, I just thought, ‘We could sit here crying, worrying’ but I said, “Let’s just go out, it’s a really nice day. Let’s go for a walk.” We went out for a walk, we went to a bird sanctuary and was just around nature. It was a really nice time.”
Since learning of her condition last month, the 52-year-old actress – who smoked occasionally, tried to follow a vegetarian diet and did regular yoga – is refusing to accept that she may die from the disease and is on a mission to raise cash for treatment at a cutting-edge German hospital.
She explained: “One doesn’t ask, ‘How long do you think I’ve got?’ because you don’t want to be boxed in to someone else’s perspective. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. But I do need to crack on. I don’t think I can afford to sit around. We’re in the process.”
And Leah – who has two children – is determined to remain optimistic.
She said: “I’m terribly optimistic. Of course I have moments when the reality hits. I think it’s more about what you’re leaving behind that I find difficult. We’re all going to go somewhere glorious after, we hope.”
Leah has already reached the £50,000 target on her fundraising page but she understands she’s not the only person to have terminal cancer, so she’s toying with the idea of setting up a blog to voice her thoughts and feelings.
She explained: “I’m thinking of setting up a blog … just so there’s room to have these discussions and I can bring in what I already do.”

He said of the album: “Music has always been a huge part of my life, from my childhood growing up in Italy, to my time as a choreographer for huge stage shows, to now with my work as a judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and ‘Dancing With The Stars’. ‘An Italian Romance’ is a journey through my favourite Italian music, inspired by the romance of Italian culture.”
